I worked at Sears when I was younger, and they would play this song over the store speakers sometimes. The rest of their playlist was terrible, as was the job, but discovering this song almost made working there worth it. I quit after a few months and moved on with my life-traveled, experienced the world, went through a heartbreak or two. A decade later, as I approach thirty, this song has started popping back into my head. I think back to my eighteen-year-old self folding clothes at the store, this song playing from the scratchy speakers in the ceiling, and I realize there's no way I could have really understood what this song was about at the time. I'm only just now beginning to understand. It resonates more and more as time goes on, and lately has begun to give me goosebumps each time I hear it. Thank you for the wonderful music, EBTG.
I’m 39 but most of my life I’ve always been the young person around everyone. Seems like I just blinked and now I’m grown yet still looking for fleeting memories of the past to remind me of what once was. I always had the feeling that I had forever to live, but after losing my father and other friends & family members is when I really started to reflect on my own mortality. Like smells, songs we hear can immediately take us back to a time that seemed easier. What I wouldn’t give to go back to the early 90’s and do it all over again; especially if I was able to know what I know now.

Am I crying? Oh, yes. I had to take care of my brother’s apartment after he ended his life on 2/25/1999. He had over 300 CD’s and many from this group, that’s how I learned about the music. Every now and then I listen and my heart fills up with grief again, but it reminds me of him. I try to cope every day so music soothes my ravaged heart and hurting soul.

Before the internet, cell phones and social media, when you broke up with someone and you lost all contact with them, sometimes walking by their old address or places you both used to hang out at or having old photographs was the only way to remember and relive those memories. Although the last time, two years went by without a word. Found an obscure address on the internet and sent a note. Two says later a nice lawyer called and told me she had passed away due to early onset Alzheimers. That one will always hurt, but at least I know.

I notice that with specific Japanese singers such as Jun Togawa. There is a lot of talented ones who fall through the gaps. Even those who were once big seem to not appear on the radio or get spoken about until they die which is sad.
As someone who hasn't even existed in that era I find that so facinating. The lesser-known original version, as heard in this video, did poorly on the charts for whatever reason. The original version only charted in the UK and it peaked at a measly 69. It's a shame more people aren't familiar with the original version, as it's a great track, in my opinion. I love the beat, acoustic guitar and keyboard sounds. I'll even go as far as to say I prefer the original version over the Todd Terry remix, but that's not to say that the remix is bad by any means. I love 1990s house/club music.

As a teenager I had a bitter sweet relationship with this song, I only imagined a lovers perspective and was utterly against being "hooked" for someone who refused to love you back. This song reminds me, with nostalgia, of the times when before leaving a person we thought about it a lot, because, from that moment, it would have been possible not to know anything about her or him. We weren't all on so-called "social". I have been back a couple of times to places where I have experienced important moments and it has not always been pleasant. The past is something that needs to be handled with care and is often best left alone.
Listened to this track for about 6 hours straight driving overnight through a blizzard in Michigan once. Got "there" safely, and the time had slipped past in what seemed to have been only the blink of an eye thanks to EBTG that night. Good god but I'd get into a time machine and go back to those simpler, sweeter days without a moment's hesitation. Cheers, all.

It's a shame more people aren't familiar with the original version, as it's a great track, in my opinion. I love the beat, acoustic guitar and keyboard sounds. I'll even go as far as to say I prefer the original version over the Todd Terry remix, but that's not to say that the remix is bad by any means. I love 1990s house/club music.

For me this has always been a song about longing…for things or beloved person lost that you can never get back no matter how much you look. Sometimes we know better to just let go but in the back of your mind you can’t help searching. That’s what this song always felt like to me.
Tracey Thorn has a voice of gold. She and Ben Watts were/are the quintessential couple. They love their craft and seemingly each other. I “Miss” them. Great song, yet they reflect what many want. True love and respect for each other. Wish they would recreate that video.
As a teenager I had a bitter sweet relationship with this song, I only imagined a lovers perspective and was utterly against being "hooked" for someone who refused to love you back. Now I an older and this song is about grieving it can be about anyone you love and it's gone, a parent, a grandparent, heck even a beloved pet!

This song reminds me, with nostalgia, of the times when before leaving a person we thought about it a lot, because, from that moment, it would have been possible not to know anything about her or him. We weren't all on so-called "social". I have been back a couple of times to places where I have experienced important moments and it has not always been pleasant. The past is something that needs to be handled with care and is often best left alone.
Listened to this track for about 6 hours straight driving overnight through a blizzard in Michigan once. Got "there" safely, and the time had slipped past in what seemed to have been only the blink of an eye thanks to EBTG that night.
