It is 2024 now; I had the pleasure of seeing her in person at the Baltimore Civic Center back in 2000 - one of a handful of concerts that I've ever attended, hers was just straight up magical. I don't particularly like crowds or large venues but she made me forget all about that during her set. She is definitely one of the iconic voices of the 80s and 90s...you know it whenever you hear her sing.

Did you see any of the other sht from the 80s and 90s? Not ahead of her time she was made EXACTLY for the times she thrived in. No, everything today (pop I mean, there is actually some good stuff out there but it's not popular) is decidedly BEHIND the times. Art and music should be aeons ahead of what it is. What happens when social part of civilization gets bogged down. This is one of those eras.
