Spice girls.
Alot of Americans missed out on Murder on the Dance Floor. But thanks to Saltburn everyone now gets to hear from this gem of a music.
Totally missed this one.
Straight Americans. We gays were on this from the beginning. Total call to the dancefloor back in the day.
What is Saltburn? 🤔
@@GeorgeMcGuillits a film that was released in late 2023 about a guy who's invited to spend the summer at his rich classmate's family's estate and this song was in the movie
@@tyreseee.01 ohhh thanks, we'll I'm here cause I wan on Instagram and Paris Jackson was listening this song in her house 🙌🏻
There's just something about the added "STOMP" in the music video that makes the song more enjoyable
Don't worry, I know what that something is: her boots.
There are other versions but they just don't have the stuff now do they ha
I like "the all together!"

yes! I love the stomps, they add such a cool touch to that part. I also enjoy the claps, and, as someone else said, "THE AAAALTOGETHER!" lol =D
This could have been written today. Timeless song.
Check out Anastacia's "I'm Outta Love" if you've never heard it. KILLS ME!

What an outstanding carisma she’s giving us. 100 % perfect!
Awesome vocals & lyrics! 👍🏻👌🏻🤘🏻🙌🏻👏🏻
How about this? Who listened to this banger 15-20 years ago? And has amazing memories from that time?
let me take you back to 2001. high school disco. two 15-year-old best friends break out this choreography when this song comes on. the crowd is shocked and amazed. a great moment.
I’m loving the revival. Let’s keep passing down this legend
Absolutely 20 something years for me
oh SHIT has it actually been out that long?? I FEEL SO OLD 😭😭😭
Yep lol
Congratulations on 100 million views! - I remember dancing to this when I was a kid. The music video blew me away then, and it's still iconic to this day. ♡ I'm so glad the newer generations are enjoying this too.
I genuinely think this song could still hold up in the charts if it was released today!
I saw her live at Silverstone and she was absolutely perfect, so lovely and confident on that stage, I want that feeling again 🩷🩷🩷💞💞💞💝💝💝
I just love everything about this video: the song, the plot, her make-up! This is timeless and I never get tired of watching :)
Used to watch as a child OBSESSED with her green sparkly eyeshadow and the SHOES! I must recreate this look! X
Am still in love in that look, but not on myself affcourse
I can believe

It's murder on the dancefloor
But you better not kill the groove
Dj, gonna burn this goddamn house right down
Oh, I know I know I know I know I know I know
About your kind
And so and so and so and so and so
I'll have to play
If you think you're getting away
I will prove you wrong
I'll take you all the way
Boy, just come along
Hear me when I say
Hey,
It's murder on the dancefloor
But you better not kill the groove

But you better not steal the moves

Stay another song
I'll blow you all away

The ending with this song is the most perfect combination for an ending like that , saltburn was something unexpected for everyone who just watched it
Great to see this absolute banger of a tune being appreciated by another generation. Timeless classic.
Loving how so many new people are discovering this amazing song! It has been a favorite of mine since its release.
same here! this song does not age!
Wonderful song, classics never die, who more in 2024?
Anyone else amazed that’s it’s FINALLY getting its flowers - have known this song since it came out and seeing it blow up years after it’s release Is satisfying
Let it Saltburn push to NUMBER ONE ♥️
Set to re-enter the UK Top Ten this week ❤
Originally peaked at #2 in 2001
An early 2000s banger, Sophie is a legend
Let's get that #1!
Definitively, who made this video is a superb genious, the visuals, the story, the song, the music, the singer, the choreographics, ...well,everything are so incredibly nice that i love to watch over and over again, sets me in high mood, and... Sophie, u are the third prettiest woman in the universe, sincerely... ;)
It's called "Grease".
Agree 100%. Everything about the video is just amazing and way above its league considering this was shot in 2001
It was directed by another talented Sophie, the incredible Sophie Müller
"third"
I'm intrigued, who do you think are the first two pretties women
Saltburn and Z100 brought me here. Clearly, after 20 years of this song being released, nobody has dared to kill the groove. 😊 Thank you, Sopie!
You know a movie is great when you search for a song used on it, helping the narrative. Saltburn is beautifully crafted.
Totally!
Though I admit to liking the dance sequence at the end of Saltburn none of the last 15 minutes belonged to rest of the movie.
@@kellyfentoniPlease elobarate. The last 15 minutes was great for me and literally what made the rest of the movie make sense.
Every song on that soundtrack is a masterpiece.
yes👍
You deserve all the success you continue to have....... This piece is wonderful.... I should still have the vinyl I use in the disco like all your other songs..... GREAT!!
In retrospect, an outstanding pop song. Enourmsly catchy , 20 years later
It's class
My first love hated it, propably that's the reason it didn't work out for us ;)
Never seen the video before. Sophie looks like her mother Janet Ellis though
Back to 2000 please!!
aged like fine wine!!
Written by the guy from New Radicals
This music video really does fit the saltburn movie well 😂😂
Não conheço esse filme.
The homage of the movie Saltburn to this video is incredible, I came back to reevaluate this song.
Sophie, she's just lovely. 😍
She is so inhumanly beautiful. I idolized her in this video. That alabaster skin! Those scarlet lips! That glittery green eyeshadow! That sleek black ponytail! Those smouldering eyes and evil glances! That poison-decanting ring! Those cheekbones! Those shooooees!!! I tried to imitate her emerald eyeshadow and crimson lips at school discos to...infinitely lesser effect.
BTW: is it just me, or is she the perfect combination of snow white and the evil queen in this video?
She definitely is beautiful.
She is just a pretty british girl.
Definitely would
for sur, i know )
I could care less about her looks but that voice tho
I used to listen to this while training as a flight attendant lol, love that it came back to the top through "Saltburn", insanely good song and the ending of the movie made so much sense to me having already seen this music video loads of times! CLEVER
I can't hear this song any more without thinking of Barry Keoghan naked. Thanks again for that, Saltburn
Yes, a HUGE thanks!!! 😜
I can't get rid of that image from my head...
Not the grave scene no?😳
@@MegaPedro1975 the grave scene was disturbing and hot. But this particular song was played when he danced naked around the house. So his anatomy will come to mind whenever this tune plays again haha
I didn’t care about the movie much, but that scene is just so perfect and he ate through the entire movie tbh.
Good luck getting this out of your head, it's a real earworm. I've had this in my head for 20 years or so 😁
Sophie Ellis-Bextor's voice alone sent me back in time to the early 2000's. Gabrielle's voice does that to me too, I love these vibes.😁👍🏾
Bumped in to Sophie backstage at an event in London about 10 or so years ago, and she was really personable and well spoken, not to mention stunning.
She seemed more interested in my life than she was speaking about her own.
Glad shes having this second wind of success. The opening bars of this song with the twinkling sounds is superb!
I played this song to death when it first came out, and it's still in my top ten all time favourites. I absolutely adore Sophie! She's brilliant live, such a joyful, energetic performer who clearly loves what she does. So glad she's finding success again with this song!
Song that is so ahead of it's time. If somebody told me this had come out recently I wouldn't doubt it
This song at the end of Saltburn was perfect, loved the last shot.
Handel in the opening, Sophie Ellis Bextor for the end!
It made a hilarious last scene/end credits song in Saltburn, spot on lyrics.
I know
This was played when I met the girl of my dreams, fast forward 21 years, now my wife and best friend, a son to show and no looking back, I look forward to the next 21 years 😊
Wow that’s amazing ❤️
Congrats, friend!
nawwwww

Saludos!

SOPHIE IS A BEAUTIFUL WOMAN AND A GREAT ARTIST...
She used to be a fashion model, then she became a singer. But every time I watch this music video, I can't help thinking she would have been a wonderful actress.
Edit: I would never have thought, so many people would agree with me.
Love from France.
When I saw this video as a kid, I always thought she must be an awful person in real life too. And I still don't like her to this day, so I probably wouldn't like her as an actress either. Some roles just stick with the actor for a lifetime. Like Bruce Willis will always be the guy from Die Hard... But the music's awesome.
@@somedudeok1451 she's a lovely lass in real life.mates of mine have met her and say easily the nicest celeb you could meet.
Heh, well being the nicest person among a bunch of snobs isn't that big an achievement, but I believe you. ;-)

She's a looker!
I just saw Saltburn and I remember this song from the club days I never knew the song title but I think that Barry' s dance has etched it into my memory forever. Great work Emerald!
That scene brought me here, playing this song repeatedly
The best song in the world. I play it over and over. ❤
