    Really useful, Thankyou, I’ve only done one wedding so far. I think I’ll give the multicam synchronised clips a go from now on, it looks like a big time saver! 👍😀

    The only thing is that I have to watch it on x2 speed… but I do that with most videos.

    Really helpful! What does optimizing the clips do? Mentioned around 22min

    • @WeddingVideographyForBeginners
      @WeddingVideographyForBeginners  2 роки тому +1

      It’s the equivalent of creating a proxy file. Davinci will create “optimized” media so it plays back smoother and faster on your machine. It’s really helpful if you have an older slower machine. We would do it with our 2019 Mac Pro laptop and it worked really well. Helps with smoother playback etc.

    Just found your channel, great info on editing! One question I have, in video #1, you mention that the first clip should be imported into DR as 24fps and the settings will good to go from there.. What if I have shots that I would still like to have @ 60fps for effect. Is this still possible?

    • @WeddingVideographyForBeginners
      @WeddingVideographyForBeginners  2 роки тому

      It is! What ever clip you drop in first DR will create your settings based off of it. So if it is 23.976 the project will be the same, if it is 59.976 then the project will be the same as the clip. So I you want your timeline to be 60, just drop that clip in first and tell it to change the settings to match it when the window pops up.

    It seems to your thing about keeping the folder structure, you need to make the bins as smart bins, and there's a checkbox to keep it in all projects. 24:47

    • @WeddingVideographyForBeginners
      @WeddingVideographyForBeginners  2 роки тому

      Thank you so much! I think that only applies to the library the projects are in. I create a new library / Database for all of our client work. So each couple has their own DBQ, each corporate job. The only DBQ I work out of consistently is for this channel. I hope that made sense.

    • @evansalina
      @evansalina 2 роки тому +1

      @@WeddingVideographyForBeginners Makes sense. Coming from FCPX I have been trying to figure out workflow in setting up before even really getting into editing, just how I had to learn to do so in Final Cut as I came from Premiere. I do think it probably makes more sense to do a wedding library (formerly databases) per year. Not that you're doing anything wrong, but you can just archive individual weddings and keep your folder structure.
      I am currently trying to figure out if you can separate multiple cams under a keyword. I can do it in FInal Cut where, if I click CEREMONY keyword, I can then sort by Camera name. As it stands, when you do a power bin/keyword, it will just dump all cams footage as one.

    • @WeddingVideographyForBeginners
      @WeddingVideographyForBeginners  2 роки тому

      @@evansalina I personally like have all of the footage, audio, timelines, DBQ s in the same folder. So every project I know where all of the associated files are. It makes it easier and more organized for online storage and local back ups. I know when I grab my 2019 back up drive every last thing I need for whatever project is in there. FOr ease of use I 100% agree that one DBQ is better but I like the organization lol. Have you reached out to DaVinci on sorting by name issue? They have really good customer service.

    Quick question, I am doing a wedding edit and the bride took another 5mins later to come down the aisle do i have 5mins of footage aimed at the groom how can I cut that 5mins away and bring in the part where she walks down the aisle without disturbing the synced audio and clips

    • @WeddingVideographyForBeginners

      If it not synched up to the music, it should be pretty easy. Just Blade (the b key) that 5 min ish piece out, just blade the video and audio. So if it is on video 2, blade video 2 and audio 2. Then select the greyed out area that is left and hit delete. That will move everything to the left. If it is already on synched to the beat of the music, just make sure you are making the cuts on beat, the clips should fall in after that.
