I already know a lot about Davinci Resolve, but my wife doesn't...and I don't have time to teach her so this video is gold for her....we run our channel together and if she learns how to edit on Resolve we will be more fast and efficient. Thank you so much!
@@TheFrullanis just getting started with DR, it would be good to know what setting DR should be set to for editing in for a UA-cam clip. not renter setting but editing settings. this is where a lot of first-time users just give up.
Thanks very much for a really good lesson and you are a wonderful educator. I took time away from my college teaching job for PD and want to do a video report instead of traditional written one - I have struggled with how best to approach and this has given me the inspiration and headstart to get my project rolling. I have a ton of .mov and .jpeg files and kept second-guessing my approach but now I will shoot A-cam on BMPCC then fill in with B-roll and effects, many thanks to you!
After spending nearly 6-7 hours over the course of multiple days constantly backtracking through this 35 minute UA-cam video so I could follow along with each step as closely as possible I am finally complete. This has been the best resource on UA-cam for taking that first step into DaVinci Resolve and I will be referring back to this video as I begin my journey into this editing software
@ This video is a very valuable resource for DaVinci Resolve. Most of these tutorial on UA-cam end up being too complicated. This simplifies it and providing practice project files to work along with helped tremendously
Seriously bloke, that was awesome. I’ve had the scary Resolve sitting on my desktop for months now, bamboozled by how complicated I thought it was. Your video is a god send, well instructed, not at all technical and complete with the film to replicate your work. What a ripper. Cheers fella. 😊
I've watched several tutorials on Davinci Resolve and, somehow they all missed the mark and I've been teaching myself. This one helps me to understand the processes much easier. Thank you
Putting the Jelly directly on top of the Peanut Butter slice and not on the opposite one is criminal. I have experience with DaVinci but the color correction and audio parts were still helpful tips for me so thank you!
FOR SLOW COMPUTERS using Davinci...disabling playback while rendering will usually solve crashing while rendering issues. Right clicking on timeline then clicking ripple delete will snap all files on the timeline back together for you. It will snap from right to left. While editing I use spacebar to play & pause while using L key to bump up playback speed to 2x, 4x, 8x etc. Keys J, K & L are playback speed keys. Once I figured all out my computer quit crashing & my editing speed increased dramatically. One more thing for slow computers... if Davinci starts to get laggy, the solution for me is saving the project, closing & reopening Davinci. I hope this comment saves someone from misery.

😇Hi Nate! I've been using DaVinci Resolve for 3 years now and I love it. I happened to notice a link to your video and decided to check it out in case there was a tip or trick that I didn't know, because every user has a different style. I did catch a couple of of cool tricks, but what impressed me the most was your delivery. You have a warm way of speaking to your viewers that is calming and informative. You're not speaking above or below anyone's intellect, but instead, explaining in a user-friendly manner that most will appreciate. I enjoyed watching your content. Best to you!
This is the video you want to watch first! I've been dreading going over my audio because I have so many tutorial vids queued up, and both of the main things that I was worried about get covered at the end of this video (EQ and S sound reduction). Audio already sounds way better just following the two steps in this video! I feel better about going over my audio now! Also, I saw some of the video editing stuff he mentions across other tutorials as well. Save time, watch this first, and then go from there.
Video editing is the most beginner friendly skill ever, getting good at will obviously not be overnight, but at start you're getting something decent out of it, unlike some other software's where it takes several months before you get anything that's alright. Great tutorial 🍀
Man… That was awesome!!! I’m new at editing and been intimidated to use DR, so my default was always I-movie… you just opened up a whole new world to me for my channels! THANK YOU!
This video is what I'm looking for especially for a beginner that literally doesn't have an idea how to use DaVinci. I don't want to watch complicated ones since I'll be editing a vlog only. Plus he also gave some idea or tips for making a video more appealing! 💖 Thank you so much!
I downloaded DaVinci Resolve about 6 months ago. Watched a few tutorials, tried working with it.... aaaand gave up. I watched this and FINALLY it makes sense! I'm going to give it another try! Thank you!!!
I’ve never edited a video before, and this helped me sooo much. I loved the footage that you provided so i could follow along but also try and fail and try again. Thank you so much for making this video to help people like me.
If I can offer one piece of advice it's that EVERY frequency sounds bad when you crank the gain on a high-Q filter and sweep it across the spectrum. It's really easy to butcher your audio this way, so unless you hear a problem while the EQ is flat, don't EQ! A bit low-cut is usually fine but don't slap a 10dB shelf on your track at 10KHz just because someone in a video it. Find Julan Krause's video on EQ-ing for voice.
Wow.! This is the best video about editing Davinci I have seen so far on the internet. I got a lot of confidence to start editing video. Thanks brother 🙏🏻

That was actually a good video! Well done. Good tone of voice; well spoken and clear; good all around color and audio FX and volume; all the B roll, text, BG music. That was solid. I even noticed the soft hands at the end while eating the PB&J. I can tell you’ve never done hard labor for a long time; nothing wrong with that. 👍
This is so so helpful and re-motivated me to learn video editing again, after being discouraged by the complicative nature of learning a new software. Subscribed, liked, saved, favorited, shared, etc.
