Been watching your content for over a year now, and it has tremendously helped me to learn and grow as an editor and colorist. Many thanks for the effort and passion you happily share to help others reach their potential. Props!
As a beginner colorist every time I watch one of your videos (I've watched over half) you say this is what newbies, or beginner colorist do... hahaha you're not wrong! Every damn time I say yes that's me! But I'm learning so much from your videos. Keep up the great work! I know I appreciate them all.
Thank you so much for your videos. They really helped me getting way better with colorgrading and improved my dronefootages from my new zealand trip. Here a little tip from me: At 3:44 you reset the gain by typing in "1" and then hit ENTER. You can just double click on "GAIN" and it will be reseted. By double clicking on the word next to any paramter, it will be reseted. Your welcome and thanks again!
Qazi, I really don't know what to say, you make it so easy that seems to be right a part of you. I applied to the training I i'm learning so so much in your channel. Thanks man!
long time watcher first time commenter - just wanted to say i love your channel and you're so talented and giving so much value and knowledge out here. appreciate all your energy!
I have learned a lot from you which has helped me improve my work. Thank you very much. I used to save so that I could buy more equipment, now I am very excited to save so that I can buy your courses. Love you from iraq❤
Great info here and I'll be back to watch more of your content. One thing is your cursor kinds of jumps around like you have jittery hands, or too much coffee and it makes me anxious or nervous rather than relaxed. I'd keep the movement there more smooth and less jerky.
Great tutorial like always 🔥 but my problem with your tutorials that I usually don't know which the correct color space transform. I'm using canon m50 with cinestyle color profile.
Hey, Qazi :). Awesome and extremely helpful video as always I also really enjoy the before and after wipes you do at the beginning and end of your videos. Could you pretty please show us how you do them?
I really like the separation the balance created with the LUT! It kinda seemed like you were going back and forth on methods of contrast though. You added it before the LUT with LGG, then subtracted it after seeing the LUT with Highl & Shad, then added more back in with the curve. Any reason that you went that way instead of just reducing the first changes you made with LGG or just starting with the curve to get the look you were after?
How about luts with video aboit 1hr long ? Splittet into 4gb pieces ? I have twice weather change and i commit mistake bcoz of not using d-cinema mode and my video is darker after 30 minutes .I am shooting all vidz outside
i've been doing this lut adding like this; pretty much all same since last cst but i let it stay at gamma 2.4 and then add 2 other nodes first one being a cst which takes gamma 2.4 to cineon film log and second node is the lut...then compounding both nodes so i can play with the gain in key output in compound node...is that a wrong style of doing it or is it just another way of doing it ?
Could you make a video on how to grade ProRes? I have to color grade vfx so it’s all i get. And i miss the color space transform in resolve for prores… Thanks already luv you man!!
I thought that the primaries color wheels were not color space aware , and only the HDR ones are, if color management is not on . Is this new in davinci ?
You are mistaken my friend hehe. I am a bigginer and I wouldn´t do that cause I would have record in 709 to start with so I am kind of screwed hehe. Any advise or any sugestion of video for people who still don´t shoot in slog2 o3 (sony owener here)- Would appreciate it a lot.
Hello. This awesome. BUT something is wrong when I try this with rec 709 sony footage. Is it because it is notS log? It goes crazy after I put the second node Davinci wide gamut and Davinci intermediate. The first node is great. Am I missing somthing?
So when I do a THIRD CST it might have been fixed. If I add a third cst with input Davinic wide/color and then Davinci Intermideat/Gamma THEN output Rec/color and Output Gamma2.4 or cinelog film it works.
Hello, Qazi. I've been watching every single video of yours and it's been extremely helpful. I'm having trouble with my skin tones when using LUTs... I followed every step of this video, however, I'm going for a more pushed look, but when I try to go for it, the skin gets too colorful. Where in my node tree can I key the skin to make it look more natural? I hope you can help me. 😅
What should I do when I want to add glow or film grain or any other type of fx? Can I just do it after the LUT? I don't think so because I would f up my image because of the rec.709 color space right? So should I do it before I add the LUT (Davinci Wide gamut) ?
Key board shortcuts under ‘colour’ enable you to use .25, .5 and full printer lights. I have this setup on a stream deck, works like a treat and a lot, lot cheaper than an advanced panel.
Great stuff as always Waqas! I was curious if you have ever worked with the Sigma FP’s 12-bit CDNG RAW files before? I’d be really interested to know your process for this specific camera and color science, I’d be more than happy to provide the test footage if needed!

me and LUT have been together for about 9 years now thank you Qazi!
Did our man just say 32-bit Float?
😅
amazing work! great walkthrough on looking at the color balance on the graphs and doing more advanced adjustments.
Qazi, I really don't know what to say, you make it so easy that seems to be right a part of you. I applied to the training I i'm learning so so much in your channel. Thanks man!
Love this! So helpful! BUT why is the shadow cast addressed AFTER the lut? Why is better than doing before the LUT??? Curious.... Thanks again

love this guy. I use Davince for 8 years now and Qazi`s vids opens my mind a lot. Thank you Qazi
Let's go brother. Appreciate the love.
totally in love with your tips Waqas. Thank you
You're welcome
Awesome! So little adjustment with such a great effect!
4:20 "you never want to such the soul out of your lut" lmao that was hillarious litrally made my day
"you never want to suck the soul out of your LUT" made my "fudging" day mate!
keep up the great videos!

Your colorspace would be a Rec.709 color space if I’m correct

I envy those who conquered the nods feature. But I insist: the future of editing is hod free. Can't wait... 😊

And I was explaining why I was going back and forth.
Don't listen to him becuz in every video he say something and does something else
Help me understand what LUT i need. Film shot on kodak vision 3 500t. Camera used: Krasnagorsk 3
OMG this was helpful, I was struggling why my lut (Kodak 2383) is so contrasty HAHA
How about luts with video aboit 1hr long ? Splittet into 4gb pieces ? I have twice weather change and i commit mistake bcoz of not using d-cinema mode and my video is darker after 30 minutes .I am shooting all vidz outside

How to apply LUT in Davinci YRGB color managed mode
Is it out for the iPad yet?
Thank you Qazi!

Dude, I just purchase Davinci Resolve Studio because of you. Thank You :)
Best investment
Thanks for your great contents!
Of course.
hey man .. hope this finds you well... have you ever worked on Zcam Zlog footage before? if yes can you please help me out with it
Very professional, it would be better if the material can be shared and practiced :)
This me af😂😅 glad I ran into this
Amazing video, I literally just Installed DR and even know how to create a node LMAO.

How you get the circle shown were the qualifier is. Excellent tutorial !!!
In case you or others are still wondering how to do this:
In the "Scopes" window click the "..." and select "Display Qualifier Focus".

This is insane!!!!! 🔥
😀💪🏾
Only lut I use is the Koji color ones. Especially the 2383 one. All others luts I tested are aweful.
Can I apply this method for Sony a7iv fortage shot in S log 3?
OMG, thank you!!!!

Need that answer!😅
@@Saba_Demitri thanks man
The answer is no for Creative LUTs with a odt but if it's just a creative LUT that's primarily affecting the color then you can.
practice footage download link
When using hot keys to add/subtract color how do I know if I am targeting the shadows vs highlights vs whatever else?
That hotkeys are targeting all the image (shadows, mids ands highlights) It is the offset wheel.
It is the best tool to color correct your image.
@@mrpix3l_colorist Thank you! That makes sense.
Printer lights works linearly same as your offset.
That's what a 'beginner' would know?
Thanks! Really helpful insight and tips
You're welcome
great advice again
How do you set your printer lights to affect in a 0.5 scale, mine is at 1
Perks of having the advanced panel. 😀
Key board shortcuts under ‘colour’ enable you to use .25, .5 and full printer lights. I have this setup on a stream deck, works like a treat and a lot, lot cheaper than an advanced panel.
is he saying lut god?
i use fujifilm xh1. so im confused lol
I like the lets roll the intro part 👌
😀
I am even more of a beginner, i only apply the film lut and do nothing more
but beginner dont use alexa sir.. 🤧
So basically adjustments before LUTs.
can you make a tutorial for us poor people who are still using URSA 4k DNG files? :)
I do the same mistake as beginners do.

That a Royal Oak? Nice man, the watches keep getting more 🔥
Yes, it is bro. Good eye. I'm a watch freak.
@@theqazman You and me both. The AP is next on the (very distant) horizon. At the rate of your channel's success... next stop for you, the RM. 💥
Yeah I'm that guy oops
But I must say, where's the "don't be a LUT b*tch" T shirt for this video ? xD
Ik epic fail 🥺
new merch on make LUTs our b*tchf🤣🤣🤣
😂🤔
There are also *girls* the create videos
Just saying 😄
😂 you're right.
Luts are helpful but it's taking your creation, your feeling, your process that you had developed in your thought. And finally just it's just not you.
Make LUTs our b**** :D lol
First!
