I’ve been using you video guides for a couple years now. Although I haven’t tanked since WOD, I decided to get back into it. Even your Mythic plus videos are helpful as dps, it helps me understand what tanks are looking for and what to expect from pulls. Just keep nutting into my dude, It's just one of those things you need to do over and over to fully learn and be aware of everything that is going on. Just remember if you start going backwards go and have a break etc but keep at it, you will get it eventually =)

Nice guide managed to 3-shot this with 930 ilvl. Having the antorus 2-set made me just demolish the p1 mob with burst. Kruul was cake with reflecting the spell

Have yet to try this one, atm got lego gloves & prydaz. Should be doable with those? I never finished this challenge before, but wanna have a go on this as a warrior. Any extra tips for new prot tanks on this challenge? :P Good guide btw
Gloves and prydaz will be a great combo mate, healing braces and gloves would be amazing, but still very doable at a decent gear lvl with prydaz and gloves. Tips wise don't get frustrated straight away on the warrior, this challenge on the warrior is very faced paced and imo is really aggressive in comparison to the playstyle of the other tanks through this challenge. Just continue to practice it and get comfortable with how many stacks you can take, interrupts etc if you can get to P2 on the warrior it becomes easy mode with spell reflect. Best of luck mate!!
Gonna need it mate :) Just started tanking on this one for a month, just started doing Antorus NM, but will give it a "few" decent tries. Will try him with Prydaz and Gloves, also got the extra leap lego, does sound appealing too. I do have Bull Rush as an extra speed ow sh** button, since besides the stun and knocked, I can also run out of something if I don't have leap or something (used it on Odyn several times already). Will let you know how it goes, hope I saved the kill (IF I make it that far ofc) and upload it, but prob. not today :D I never used this /focus macro, I even never use macros :D SO when a target is focused, I don't need to select anything right? Just press the focus+interrupt macro? I guess I can even make a focus+intercept macro?
Darkmech managed to complete it, sadly my recording didnt work somehow....bummer....at least now I got 3 mage towers done....BM hunter, Resto shamans and Prot warrior ;) elemental shaman and disc priest left to do before BfA. I have to say this prot warrior one looks amazing on highmain tauren heritage armor ;)
At current ilvls 930+ area you should only be getting hit by 2 - 3 max. If you're still struggling and not a night elf you'll need to use the orbs to try and delay him as much as possible while you try and burn him down in sections. You could also probably try - Shield Block, Shield Block IP, Shield Wall, Neltharions Fury.
Haha Prot Warrior Kruul stage was probably one of the easiest, stage 1 was a little more frantic than some of the other classes. I actually think the Xylem challenge is worse than this one
Yup sure am mate. Going to try and get Arms, Fury and Feral Druid done on the next tower pop. Will just depend on if I can get a bit more time into my warrior's arms/fury weapons before the tower comes up.
If you just want a macro to make the target your focus, like only your focus it's just /focus target or if you know the name of the target can be /target Highlord Kruul /focus Then it's different again if you want to tie an ability into it.
I have to say, doing 5 toons of this challenge i have mad respect for you , but also i feel so bad for you doing this 5 different times (nearly 6 at this point)
Haha thanks mate =) I actually enjoy doing the challenge on a new tank each time, kind of makes me improve on a certainly class I may not play a lot like paladin etc. Gearing up and farming 2 legendaries is a huge grind though zzzz
Good guides Darkmech! This is my 3rd tank challenge, the other 2 were frustrating but warrior is the worst so far. They really seem to struggle and just get annihilated by mind rend even at low stacks with IP up. ~2.9 mill at only 3 stacks. 5 mill hits at 5 stacks which is almost guaranteed death. I got Kruul to 9%, but often can't make it past 1st phase with seems like bad infernal placement rng, and retarded mind rend damage. I'll try again when I have a decent legendary and a bit more ilevel. Cheers, keep up the good work.

I've done this on 3 tanks so far (Monk, DK, and DH) and for some reason I'm having so much trouble surviving phase 1 on the warrior. Even with only 3 stacks of AoD I'm getting one shot outside the aura by Varis. Can't quite figure out what I'm doing wrong. Anyone have any advice?
Warrior one took me a little to get used to as well coming from other tank completions. The warrior is really aggressive in comparison to the rest ( I think ), Be sure to be loading up on IP's for Variss, make good use of Storm Bolt and Orbs and out range him if you need to on a cast to let stacks drop off if you don't have an IP up or want to waste an orb etc. Phase 1 is certainly the most challenging for the warrior imo.

I had the same talent set as you did, but it still feels too "slow" overall with DMG output. And in ph2 I have literally no idea how to work with those infernals, as I get kicked out all the fcking time. Ironically I do have Timeless Stratagem and Aratas Bloodmirror, ilvl 932, as a dwarf. But still I have no idea how to be moving in ph2. Hope you can help a newcomer (started playing in legion)
Heya dude, I'll certainly try and help you out =) Another option re talents in anger management if you wanted to give that a crack re the talents portion. In regards to P2 it just sounds like you need a weak aura for the infernals smash. I've got one in the description that will come up with the shockwave icon and dodge when it's going off. Considering Kruul on the warrior is pretty easy with spell reflect and you have the ability to leap like a frog man with timeless stratagem, just make sure you're paying attention to the infernals, take Kruul away from them if you need to, they walk super slow so bail out to the other side of the platform if you're having issues watching them and come back in for Velens orbs etc. You should have the dps with NLC and 930 ilvl to only go through with 1 maybe 2 infernals up.

i know you said that past 910 ilvl that legendaries are less weighted but i cant help but feel like the manacles really help a lot, i personally am about to undertake this mage tower for my prot warrior and my prot pally today and while im sure my pally is going to smash it (920 ilvl with chain of thrayn and avenger's shield leggings) but my warrior is less certain (924 ilvl with aggramar's stride and soul of the battlelord). Thankfully i have done this mage tower twice already so im hoping my knowledge of the fight will help me X(.
Yeh man I think having knowledge of the fight goes a LONG way in here. The warrior will be harder no question in P1 without the healing bracers but if you can get through P1, You'll smash through P2 with spell reflect on the twisted reflections. GL!!
omg so i actually did both encounters today but the weird thing is there was almost no issue with the warrior (did it in 3 attempts) and as you said as warrior P2 is simply a joke, P1 was actually ok just have to really make use of that impending victory where you can. HOWEVER, for some reason once i completed the warrior mage tower i went to my prot pally and i absolutely struggled for some reason and again i can't really explain it. I would have thought being able to do the warrior one with relative ease would have been enough to indicate that it would be a cake walk with the pally especially since i had fairly ideal legendaries. From what i could see the only thing that could honestly explain the extra attempts is how awkward the infernals are about smash. There were a few times that it seemed as though they had instantly casted smash or other times when i was recovering from a knock back that an infernal had very clearly pre-casted smash and i literally couldnt even react it was so strange. What really got me nerd-raging the most tho was kruul himself, because the thing is paladin's (imo) have a very awkward kit for dmg mitigation in high dmg situations that last a while, so basically the issue was that while i was trying to save my mitigation cd's for annihilation, the other abilities he uses like the fel pools or the shadow bars, would do A LOT of dmg. So, for a little while it felt kinda rng-ish in a way, but at the end of the day i finally got it done (thank fucking god) just salty that it took 25+ attempts : / TBH probably should have checked out your prot pally guide for the mage tower XD probably would have been able to explain cd usage for kruul and that probably would have saved me a lot of attempts P.S. I am now up to 19/36 of the mage towers completed on my chars and to be completely honest i think im probably gonna be done with mage towers. My main goal was to simply collect the ones that i liked and i think that the rest of them (for the most part) simply arent interesting enough or are not worth the challenge (might get the remainder with op antorus gear but eh idk) Completed classes/specs: Druid-all of them, Hunter-all of them, warlock-all of them, mage-fire and frost(arcane one looks dumb and is annoying mage tower), warrior-arms and prot(fury might be one that i get with antorus gear, i feel conflicted about the appearance overall, seems plain and less exciting than the hidden appearance), deathknight-unholy(blood DK wep is not bad but being one of the harder mage towers, i feel that it looks too plain and the frost one just looks lame), paladin-prot(i honestly cant even with that annoying ass holy mage tower and the ret one just looks worse than other appearances), priest-disc(holy one AND shadow one look kinda similar to other appearances so meh), and demonhunter-both of them. As for the remaining classes their appearances dont look bad but idk im not crazy about em, might try for the brewmaster one though.
I just don't know what I'm doing wrong. 934 ilvl. Keeping ignore pain up, but I die rather instantly when I have 3-4 stacks of the decay on me. Nothing I can do about it and it seems Vellen doesn't like me cause he doesn't spawn any orbs that could safe my life. I'm currently at attempt 120 and I'm done. Not ever gonna try this again.
The orbs will always take you back to full HP. If you're having issues at 3 - 4 stacks drop that to 2 - 3. Are you getting through P1? How far in are you dying? Happy to try and help if you want mate
All about practice then my dude. Stay to 3 stacks at a max, be using your IP on the mind rend casts, interrupting with storm bolt etc this challenge is all about getting comfortable and managing the mechanics. Just keep at it, keep grinding gear and you will continue to get further until pow!
Hey darkmech and thank you for uploading!, i know that my class isnt for this video (demon hunter) but, i looked at the video and it really helped me in phase 1 and 2, but i always wipe on second phase 20% hp left, because for the fact that i dont have the chest legendary which helps me healing up, i used ancient healing potion, almost everything can heal me but i still wipe, any idea how can i take it down ?

Are you dying with orbs up? On a DH you certainly have enough sustained self healing to survive without the best leggo. What talents are you using, ilvl etc
Or never mind, i actually managed to kill him with 2 lucky soul fragments proc from Chaos nova, + i geared from 903 to 909 so that boosted my dps, thanks again for your video's Mate, Keep it up! ^^
you insist on not damagin the infernals, but at a certain time, i have to deal with about 3-4 Infernals, and my DBM is constantly spamming "Shockwave" "Shockwave" "Shockwave" "Shockwave" "Shockwave" "Shockwave". At this point i tend to just give up
You should only be going into P2 with 2 infernals max up. Dps is too low if you have 3 or 4 up. It's still possible to do don't get me wrong, but twice as hard.
great, obviously im taking too long in general. But i just tested it out, without any stacks of the decay debuff, he puts me down to 50% of my hp with a single mind rend. How do i deal with that? Im GS 934 with my artifact weapon maxed out. Guess im just a really really bad tank, and i mained warrior tank since MoP.
You rely heavily on IP for phase 1 and I wouldn't be going over 3 stacks in P1. But you basically want to have IP up for every rend cast that is going to hit you. If you have IP you shouldn't be losing 50% of your health on a 0 stack of decay
Warrior is very different to be fair. What's killing you? Try and change things up to only maybe taking 2 stacks or aura of decay etc I found warrior was a harder one to adjust to as it was a very different pace to the other challenges. Hope you keep at it =)
15:55 Putting a mark here for myself... I did, Guardian, Vengeance and Prot Pally Kruul, Pala was hard but not this ridiculous. With Warrior, I either suck at prot dps with 930+ gear and hardly going over 600k overall, Darkmech you're going 700+ easy this early and with less gear. I guess prot damage nerf happened or I really suck bad, 70+ tries and I hardly see 2nd phase :
Hmmm you running the loom trinket? A large part of my dps would have come from that trinket as killing the eyes etc always proc'd it. I don't think there has been a prot warrior dps nerf (I haven't played mine in a while though to confirm that). Warrior took me the longest to adjust to in regards to the difference in play at this challenge. Keep at it mate!!
Ah... That explains it, I rewatched your video again and yeah, you have the buff from trinket all the time. Sadly I don't have it. But the good news is I managed to do it with changing into Shockwave and Renewed Fury, I guess those fitted my playstyle more. I'm trying to do this on my warrior alt (completed druid + pally). I'm 930 and cant even get close to nuking him to 70% during first 3 stacks of aura of decay. Now this makes me feel terrible, I must be doing something fundamentally wrong? I'm using all the consumables and talents you've listed and sitting with Prydaz + Soul of the battlelord as legendaries. My DMG seems so weak.
Hmmmmm I'm using the loom trinket as well which provides an extra 10% damage against demons with the proc after a killing blow so that certainly helps my damage. What kind of damage are you putting out? At 930 you should be smashing my damage here. Also Talent wise Anger Management is also a solid choice in this fight (didn't mention that when I made this)
I just did this on a prot paladin a few weeks ago with all ret gear and bis legendaries at 948 and barely finished it. I'm terrified to try it on my 915 prot warrior.
Haha get in there and dooooo eeeeet!!! It's pretty crazy on the warrior tbh it just feels really different from the other tank classes on this encounter. Know that you've completed it on one class and understand the encounter, it wont be as bad as you think. Good luck =)
Im an arms Main with 920 ilvl and i actually have Mannoroth bracers and battlelord ring however im not main prot and there's no way i can do over 400k dps, is this even remotely doable for me...?
At 920ilvl man you can totally do over 400k dps it'll just be a matter of practicing nailing prot. These are all doable but the tank ones from what I have found in comparison to the dps challenges require a lot more work and time. My advice - keep wiping and you'll get better and better till you kill it.
It's actually impossible, there's too much going on at the same time, i can't do enough damage let alone try and be aware of 10 things happening at the same time, this is just depressing

Im like actually in disbelieve. im a 945 Tank and i get always knocked off. Damage is no problem, taking damage is no problem either. But i always fail because i got knocked off. I did it with my blood dk (wich is a twink) and im not able to do it on my main. Well keep on trying i guess .....
Don't stress on that bud, just keep smashing into it. You will eventually get better and better and get it, and then it'll be a huge fucking achievement and moment in game to remember for you =)

Yes absolutely doable. Your legendaries are fine, the healing bracers would be better but the shoulders will give you extra mobility and are really strong for this challenge, the ring is solid too. I would probably try for a different trinket that isn't writhing heart of darkness. The vers stat stick you've got is fine in the other slot. I would be aiming for Haste/Vers or Haste/Mastery for stats the versatility will be a huge help to you in P1 and your haste is pretty low at the moment so I would look at getting more. Enchants are also a must on your rings, neck and cloak.

ive done dh, dk, druid and paladin, workin on warrior. i would say easier is DH then DK paladin and hardest for me was druid. w workin on warrior right now hence why im watching this video. monk will do last
Did every tanking chalenge. For me they rank easiest to hardest 1. Dk.was my lowest ilvl alt at 911. 2. DH 3. Paladin 4. Warrior 5. Monk 6. Druid. Druid for me was the hardest cause was really hard for me to kill nether mobs and my DPS was really low even tho I was rocking 923 ilvl on him. DK is a joke mobs die to DnD and the self-healing is extraordinary
I have done the prot warrior challenge, and i find it hilarious that during your talent choice you didnt even mention anger management. Heavy repercussions isn't all that good for the challenge because the main damage you take is non-blockable and the damage output between HR and AM is pretty much the same. Btw it is amazing how hard it was back when this challenge wasn't nerfed to shit xD Going out of P1 with 900k DPS and 600k HPS (AS A WARRIOR!) and still having 4 infernals. I think I got it after the first nerf. I didn't need 80 trys for no reason... On my kill I even waited until the first Annihilate to get as much time and damage out of it as I could, it was amazing
Haha very good point re anger management! My Warrior was my 5th tank to complete so probably gives you a rough idea how much I actually play my warrior lol. I just had a default setting in my head it was still going to be the best from a pure dps standpoint not in regards to actually blocking damage. Super valid point though specially in phase 1. What do you mean you waited till the first Annihilate? Waited for what? Yeh agreed the challenge was a different beast all together pre nerf put me at over 150 wipes on my blood DK.

Darkmech TV and for Variss dont know why but Velen feels useless for me. He rarely spawns orbs (like 1 on 2 mins) the Infernals alwayse hit me(and im way behind em)
Phase 1 of this fight is pure fucking cancer, if the adds aren't killing you, mind rend is cause you don't have enough fucking interupts for it on top of only being able to take 3 stacks max before you instantly die.

Have yet to try this one, atm got lego gloves & prydaz. Should be doable with those? I never finished this challenge before, but wanna have a go on this as a warrior. Any extra tips for new prot tanks on this challenge? :P Good guide btw
Gloves and prydaz will be a great combo mate, healing braces and gloves would be amazing, but still very doable at a decent gear lvl with prydaz and gloves. Tips wise don't get frustrated straight away on the warrior, this challenge on the warrior is very faced paced and imo is really aggressive in comparison to the playstyle of the other tanks through this challenge. Just continue to practice it and get comfortable with how many stacks you can take, interrupts etc if you can get to P2 on the warrior it becomes easy mode with spell reflect. Best of luck mate!!
Gonna need it mate :) Just started tanking on this one for a month, just started doing Antorus NM, but will give it a "few" decent tries. Will try him with Prydaz and Gloves, also got the extra leap lego, does sound appealing too. I do have Bull Rush as an extra speed ow sh** button, since besides the stun and knocked, I can also run out of something if I don't have leap or something (used it on Odyn several times already). Will let you know how it goes, hope I saved the kill (IF I make it that far ofc) and upload it, but prob. not today :D
I never used this /focus macro, I even never use macros :D SO when a target is focused, I don't need to select anything right? Just press the focus+interrupt macro? I guess I can even make a focus+intercept macro?
Darkmech managed to complete it, sadly my recording didnt work somehow....bummer....at least now I got 3 mage towers done....BM hunter, Resto shamans and Prot warrior ;) elemental shaman and disc priest left to do before BfA. I have to say this prot warrior one looks amazing on highmain tauren heritage armor ;)
Darkmech, do you have an alternative to shadowmeld for the fourth annihilate?
At current ilvls 930+ area you should only be getting hit by 2 - 3 max.
If you're still struggling and not a night elf you'll need to use the orbs to try and delay him as much as possible while you try and burn him down in sections. You could also probably try - Shield Block, Shield Block IP, Shield Wall, Neltharions Fury.

Haha Prot Warrior Kruul stage was probably one of the easiest, stage 1 was a little more frantic than some of the other classes. I actually think the Xylem challenge is worse than this one

Good guides Darkmech! This is my 3rd tank challenge, the other 2 were frustrating but warrior is the worst so far. They really seem to struggle and just get annihilated by mind rend even at low stacks with IP up. ~2.9 mill at only 3 stacks. 5 mill hits at 5 stacks which is almost guaranteed death. I got Kruul to 9%, but often can't make it past 1st phase with seems like bad infernal placement rng, and retarded mind rend damage. I'll try again when I have a decent legendary and a bit more ilevel. Cheers, keep up the good work.

I've done this on 3 tanks so far (Monk, DK, and DH) and for some reason I'm having so much trouble surviving phase 1 on the warrior. Even with only 3 stacks of AoD I'm getting one shot outside the aura by Varis. Can't quite figure out what I'm doing wrong. Anyone have any advice?
Warrior one took me a little to get used to as well coming from other tank completions. The warrior is really aggressive in comparison to the rest ( I think ), Be sure to be loading up on IP's for Variss, make good use of Storm Bolt and Orbs and out range him if you need to on a cast to let stacks drop off if you don't have an IP up or want to waste an orb etc. Phase 1 is certainly the most challenging for the warrior imo.

I had the same talent set as you did, but it still feels too "slow" overall with DMG output. And in ph2 I have literally no idea how to work with those infernals, as I get kicked out all the fcking time. Ironically I do have Timeless Stratagem and Aratas Bloodmirror, ilvl 932, as a dwarf. But still I have no idea how to be moving in ph2. Hope you can help a newcomer (started playing in legion)
Heya dude, I'll certainly try and help you out =) Another option re talents in anger management if you wanted to give that a crack re the talents portion. In regards to P2 it just sounds like you need a weak aura for the infernals smash. I've got one in the description that will come up with the shockwave icon and dodge when it's going off. Considering Kruul on the warrior is pretty easy with spell reflect and you have the ability to leap like a frog man with timeless stratagem, just make sure you're paying attention to the infernals, take Kruul away from them if you need to, they walk super slow so bail out to the other side of the platform if you're having issues watching them and come back in for Velens orbs etc. You should have the dps with NLC and 930 ilvl to only go through with 1 maybe 2 infernals up.

i know you said that past 910 ilvl that legendaries are less weighted but i cant help but feel like the manacles really help a lot, i personally am about to undertake this mage tower for my prot warrior and my prot pally today and while im sure my pally is going to smash it (920 ilvl with chain of thrayn and avenger's shield leggings) but my warrior is less certain (924 ilvl with aggramar's stride and soul of the battlelord). Thankfully i have done this mage tower twice already so im hoping my knowledge of the fight will help me X(.
Yeh man I think having knowledge of the fight goes a LONG way in here. The warrior will be harder no question in P1 without the healing bracers but if you can get through P1, You'll smash through P2 with spell reflect on the twisted reflections. GL!!
omg so i actually did both encounters today but the weird thing is there was almost no issue with the warrior (did it in 3 attempts) and as you said as warrior P2 is simply a joke, P1 was actually ok just have to really make use of that impending victory where you can. HOWEVER, for some reason once i completed the warrior mage tower i went to my prot pally and i absolutely struggled for some reason and again i can't really explain it. I would have thought being able to do the warrior one with relative ease would have been enough to indicate that it would be a cake walk with the pally especially since i had fairly ideal legendaries. From what i could see the only thing that could honestly explain the extra attempts is how awkward the infernals are about smash. There were a few times that it seemed as though they had instantly casted smash or other times when i was recovering from a knock back that an infernal had very clearly pre-casted smash and i literally couldnt even react it was so strange. What really got me nerd-raging the most tho was kruul himself, because the thing is paladin's (imo) have a very awkward kit for dmg mitigation in high dmg situations that last a while, so basically the issue was that while i was trying to save my mitigation cd's for annihilation, the other abilities he uses like the fel pools or the shadow bars, would do A LOT of dmg. So, for a little while it felt kinda rng-ish in a way, but at the end of the day i finally got it done (thank fucking god) just salty that it took 25+ attempts : /
TBH probably should have checked out your prot pally guide for the mage tower XD probably would have been able to explain cd usage for kruul and that probably would have saved me a lot of attempts
P.S. I am now up to 19/36 of the mage towers completed on my chars and to be completely honest i think im probably gonna be done with mage towers. My main goal was to simply collect the ones that i liked and i think that the rest of them (for the most part) simply arent interesting enough or are not worth the challenge (might get the remainder with op antorus gear but eh idk)
Completed classes/specs: Druid-all of them, Hunter-all of them, warlock-all of them, mage-fire and frost(arcane one looks dumb and is annoying mage tower), warrior-arms and prot(fury might be one that i get with antorus gear, i feel conflicted about the appearance overall, seems plain and less exciting than the hidden appearance), deathknight-unholy(blood DK wep is not bad but being one of the harder mage towers, i feel that it looks too plain and the frost one just looks lame), paladin-prot(i honestly cant even with that annoying ass holy mage tower and the ret one just looks worse than other appearances), priest-disc(holy one AND shadow one look kinda similar to other appearances so meh), and demonhunter-both of them. As for the remaining classes their appearances dont look bad but idk im not crazy about em, might try for the brewmaster one though.
I just don't know what I'm doing wrong. 934 ilvl. Keeping ignore pain up, but I die rather instantly when I have 3-4 stacks of the decay on me. Nothing I can do about it and it seems Vellen doesn't like me cause he doesn't spawn any orbs that could safe my life. I'm currently at attempt 120 and I'm done. Not ever gonna try this again.
The orbs will always take you back to full HP. If you're having issues at 3 - 4 stacks drop that to 2 - 3. Are you getting through P1? How far in are you dying? Happy to try and help if you want mate

All about practice then my dude. Stay to 3 stacks at a max, be using your IP on the mind rend casts, interrupting with storm bolt etc this challenge is all about getting comfortable and managing the mechanics. Just keep at it, keep grinding gear and you will continue to get further until pow!
Hey darkmech and thank you for uploading!, i know that my class isnt for this video (demon hunter) but, i looked at the video and it really helped me in phase 1 and 2, but i always wipe on second phase 20% hp left, because for the fact that i dont have the chest legendary which helps me healing up, i used ancient healing potion, almost everything can heal me but i still wipe, any idea how can i take it down ?

Are you dying to an annihilate or what is killing you? Are you dying with orbs up? On a DH you certainly have enough sustained self healing to survive without the best leggo. What talents are you using, ilvl etc

you insist on not damagin the infernals, but at a certain time, i have to deal with about 3-4 Infernals, and my DBM is constantly spamming "Shockwave" "Shockwave" "Shockwave" "Shockwave" "Shockwave" "Shockwave". At this point i tend to just give up
You should only be going into P2 with 2 infernals max up. Dps is too low if you have 3 or 4 up. It's still possible to do don't get me wrong, but twice as hard.
great, obviously im taking too long in general. But i just tested it out, without any stacks of the decay debuff, he puts me down to 50% of my hp with a single mind rend. How do i deal with that? Im GS 934 with my artifact weapon maxed out. Guess im just a really really bad tank, and i mained warrior tank since MoP.
You rely heavily on IP for phase 1 and I wouldn't be going over 3 stacks in P1. But you basically want to have IP up for every rend cast that is going to hit you. If you have IP you shouldn't be losing 50% of your health on a 0 stack of decay

Warrior is very different to be fair. What's killing you? Try and change things up to only maybe taking 2 stacks or aura of decay etc I found warrior was a harder one to adjust to as it was a very different pace to the other challenges. Hope you keep at it =)

I did, Guardian, Vengeance and Prot Pally Kruul, Pala was hard but not this ridiculous. With Warrior, I either suck at prot dps with 930+ gear and hardly going over 600k overall, Darkmech you're going 700+ easy this early and with less gear. I guess prot damage nerf happened or I really suck bad, 70+ tries and I hardly see 2nd phase :
Hmmm you running the loom trinket? A large part of my dps would have come from that trinket as killing the eyes etc always proc'd it. I don't think there has been a prot warrior dps nerf (I haven't played mine in a while though to confirm that). Warrior took me the longest to adjust to in regards to the difference in play at this challenge. Keep at it mate!!
Ah... That explains it, I rewatched your video again and yeah, you have the buff from trinket all the time. Sadly I don't have it.
But the good news is I managed to do it with changing into Shockwave and Renewed Fury, I guess those fitted my playstyle more. I was hardly getting into 2nd phase but after that change I downed him at 3rd try, with some very lucky breaks on charges and gliders too of course :>

I'm trying to do this on my warrior alt (completed druid + pally).
I'm 930 and cant even get close to nuking him to 70% during first 3 stacks of aura of decay. Now this makes me feel terrible, I must be doing something fundamentally wrong? I'm using all the consumables and talents you've listed and sitting with Prydaz + Soul of the battlelord as legendaries. My DMG seems so weak.
Hmmmmm I'm using the loom trinket as well which provides an extra 10% damage against demons with the proc after a killing blow so that certainly helps my damage. What kind of damage are you putting out? At 930 you should be smashing my damage here. Also Talent wise Anger Management is also a solid choice in this fight (didn't mention that when I made this)
I just did this on a prot paladin a few weeks ago with all ret gear and bis legendaries at 948 and barely finished it. I'm terrified to try it on my 915 prot warrior.
Haha get in there and dooooo eeeeet!!! It's pretty crazy on the warrior tbh it just feels really different from the other tank classes on this encounter. Know that you've completed it on one class and understand the encounter, it wont be as bad as you think. Good luck =)

Im an arms Main with 920 ilvl and i actually have Mannoroth bracers and battlelord ring however im not main prot and there's no way i can do over 400k dps, is this even remotely doable for me...?
At 920ilvl man you can totally do over 400k dps it'll just be a matter of practicing nailing prot. These are all doable but the tank ones from what I have found in comparison to the dps challenges require a lot more work and time. My advice - keep wiping and you'll get better and better till you kill it.
It's actually impossible, there's too much going on at the same time, i can't do enough damage let alone try and be aware of 10 things happening at the same time, this is just depressing

Im like actually in disbelieve. im a 945 Tank and i get always knocked off. Damage is no problem, taking damage is no problem either. But i always fail because i got knocked off. I did it with my blood dk (wich is a twink) and im not able to do it on my main. Well keep on trying i guess .....

Yes absolutely doable. Your legendaries are fine, the healing bracers would be better but the shoulders will give you extra mobility and are really strong for this challenge, the ring is solid too. I would probably try for a different trinket that isn't writhing heart of darkness. The vers stat stick you've got is fine in the other slot. I would be aiming for Haste/Vers or Haste/Mastery for stats the versatility will be a huge help to you in P1 and your haste is pretty low at the moment so I would look at getting more. Enchants are also a must on your rings, neck and cloak.

Did every tanking chalenge. For me they rank easiest to hardest
1. Dk.was my lowest ilvl alt at 911.
2. DH
3. Paladin
4. Warrior
5. Monk
6. Druid.
Druid for me was the hardest cause was really hard for me to kill nether mobs and my DPS was really low even tho I was rocking 923 ilvl on him.
DK is a joke mobs die to DnD and the self-healing is extraordinary
If you have Luffa's, druid is easiest. Otherwise, it is the hardest.
I have done the prot warrior challenge, and i find it hilarious that during your talent choice you didnt even mention anger management. Heavy repercussions isn't all that good for the challenge because the main damage you take is non-blockable and the damage output between HR and AM is pretty much the same.
Btw it is amazing how hard it was back when this challenge wasn't nerfed to shit xD
Going out of P1 with 900k DPS and 600k HPS (AS A WARRIOR!) and still having 4 infernals. I think I got it after the first nerf. I didn't need 80 trys for no reason...
On my kill I even waited until the first Annihilate to get as much time and damage out of it as I could, it was amazing
Haha very good point re anger management! My Warrior was my 5th tank to complete so probably gives you a rough idea how much I actually play my warrior lol. I just had a default setting in my head it was still going to be the best from a pure dps standpoint not in regards to actually blocking damage. Super valid point though specially in phase 1.

Darkmech TV dont know. :( tbh i reached him 2 times. The 1st time he went up to 45% hp. The 2nd i downed him to 22% amd Velen died cuz of a bug.And then for 2 hrs trying, atill cant kill Variss
Darkmech TV and for Variss dont know why but Velen feels useless for me. He rarely spawns orbs (like 1 on 2 mins) the Infernals alwayse hit me(and im way behind em)
