I stuck with this guide only to realize that a guide is only good if the reader isn't a cocky spaz who is more concerned with bursting the last 5% of Kruul rather than keeping mobs off Velen. I also realized I was more "Kruul" to Velen than Kruul was to me. Thank you so much man I was at my wits end until I took your guide slow and steady to win the race.

I had only done about 10 attempts without properly informing myself and after watching the video I 1 shot it. I did get 3 infernals, one lucky knockback onto a wall and I got hit by 1 annihalate but I have the healing trinket from KJ (deceiver's grand design, I main MW) which was a huge help. Thanks a lot for the guide got my sub (invoke Dave is actually such a big help, makes it a lot easier)
Wanted to say thank you for the guide. Your tip to use Invoke really was spot on. The focus macros made cc a lot easier. Managed to take this down on attempt 19. I was ilvl 919. Skol!
at 927 ilvl i did it after about 30 tries......the godforsaken knockoff mechanic just killed me 95% of the time....i hate infernals... thanks for the vid
Took me 2 tries as a monk, mine was 930 with the tank wrists and i had Cinidaria, though it probably was so easy because i've done this challenge for almost 300 attempts combined over all my tanks, now the only one left to do is the Warrior one which should be way easier since ive gone up in Ilvl a ton since last time. But the Niuzao strat here basically just trivialized the fight completely. TAKE DAVE GUYS!

can confirm this is by far the best and easiest time i had on any tank tower using this setup, personally i had to not invoke dave until P2 because he went down that fast
Brewmaster done, huzzah! I'll be honest my big issue was my DPS in phase 2, Invoke Dave is insane here it trivialised Phase 1 going into Phase 2 with 1 infernal up. Good guide as always Dark, see if I can gear a Demon Hunter high enough to get that one done next!
Hopefully! The only DH I had was leveled from 100 - 110 through invasions and has literally 0 gear, so hopefully get something reasonable to clear it before pre-patch lands. But from what I gather it's not as difficult as the others (and I did all of those with 898 - 920 ilvl so should be fine)

The Warhorn (strength BoA trinket) has a reset mechanic where scoring a killing blow while while the proc is active, either adds time to it or fully refreshes it, I can't remember which. That is probably why you had much better uptime on it.
Yeh killing blow extends the duration by 8 seconds, and considering all the eyes/netherhorrors we kill in there it's no wonder it had a higher up time. Derp by me for not thinking about that one lol Cheers mate!
Hey mate, the damage reduction icon the little shield thing - Is basically a *rough* mitigation summary taking into account CD's and Armor,Versatility Breath of Fire with Hot Blooded Stagger (including High Tolerance, Ironskin Brew, and Fortifying Brew. The rest I would think you'd have a handle over - they are just the key abilities you want to monitor, if you have any more questions though hit me up =) Hope you're enjoying Brewmaster.
I have noticed your tip about NElfs and their Shadowmeld, and I actually tried it few times on my DH and my Warrior - only NElfs I got - however, it could have been bad luck but everytime I used that to avoid the Annihilate, Kruul just turned to Velen and not Kor'vas and just smashed Velen in the face...
As I said, it could have been really bad luck, since I actually was really close to Velen - 2nd phase is really messy. Anyways, regarding Mage Tower, I have done it on 4 classes already, so I am more than fullfilled on that department already. Very Good video, by the way!
Can i ask something? Im playing a tauren brewmaster, But when i try to do this challenge , velen just dosent attack , he just stand there , all he does is Summon orbs , But he never attacks , 70% of My pulls on this boss velen just stand there. Bug or am i doing something wrong? ( Done this challenge on tank druid and tank pally , never had this problem) ..
Hmm might have to do what I did on my druid, Interrupt Variss and run all the way to the back of the platform (where you starrt) this will drag Variss forwards pretty much putting him right near Velen. Should make him start pew pewing for you.

Honestly cant get through this one, I feel like my DPS isnt half as high as it needs to be. Even if I get through Phase 1 there's always 3 infernals up and the mechanics just get overwhelming in phase 2. Every guide I watch only has 1 or 2 infernals up in P2 and I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.
Just invoking old mate, staying in to 9 stacks and using Tiger Palms on BOC boosters - you want to do as much dps as you possibly can in this first opener. With current gear lvl I wouldn't be surprised if people could get to 30% area in the opener now lol
I was just fine not doing these challenges... But then I beat the Windwalker challenge and now absolutely want to beat the Brewmaster challenge. But I just cannot for the life of me even kill Variss. I haven't even come close. I just don't understand how I'm not doing enough damage to get through Variss. Ilvl932. I interrupt drain, pull adds, stare eyes, cleave infernals, use potions and leybique and everything else! But even with dave, there's always something that slips by and kills me. I feel so defeated...
Update: I was able to kill Variss twice now after getting aggressive with the orbs. The first time I just panicked because I had never gotten to Kruul before, so I was unprepared on what to do and couldn't get a clear head. the second time I got aggressive and went for the kill and ended up getting knocked off the map the second I killed Variss... Taking a break.
Ohhh getting further though dude and that's the main thing! Just keep at it I'm sure you'll knock it over, the biggest thing about the tank challenge is getting comfortable with all the mechanics and not panicking
I'm not a Brewmaster but why would anyone call a statue Dave? That makes no sense. Haha I just called it Dave as someone on my kill video called it Dave.
I can't remember the exact origin of the name Dave but it has been around since early W.O.D at the very least. Still a great vid as always though, keep it up! I've gotten 3 tanks down and was working on the brew. Got as low as 700k on Krull but these tips with the spec should make it easy.
You sir are 100% correct I have been lead astray!!! " Summon Black Ox Statue - Summons Dave (the Black Ox Statue), which taunts all enemies nearby it. You can use Provoke on it to taunt all enemies surrounding the statue onto you. Great for encounters with regular points where adds spawn and with practiced use, is excellent for initially aggroing a group of mobs. Dave is also very effective at mass-pulling in world content, making him an all-around fun pick." Oh well! hahaha thanks for letting me know though! Sadly in my latest video he gets called Dave again lol Thanks mate =) Gratz on the 3 down! 700k on Kruul fucking hurts =( next time you'll smash it for sure!
Niuzao himself is actually called Dave. So the statue is Dave and invoke Niuzao is called "Angry Dave". It was popularized by Peak of Serenity and Preach. Preach even calls him Dave in his latest vid. You did nothing wrong. Also a tip for lower ilvl brewmasters, around 900, is that you will have the most trouble in the 1st phase. Use Niuzao in the 1st phase to be able to go up to essentially 8-9 stacks of the debuff while you just dps. You can take off about 75% of the Inquisitor's hp in that time. You'll have to play P2 normally then though.
I have 927 and still cannot get anywhere near killing this guy Krull did his first annihilate for 6m through fort brew Nizuao i think has been nerfed because mine doesn't live long enough to have any real effect on the fight.
Hasn't been any nerfs I don't think my dude. What exactly is happening? Are you getting through P1 without popping Dave? First Annihilate shouldn't be hitting for 6m either through stagger and Fort Brew. You can survive the first annihilate with just ISB up and nothing else, so I'm guessing that wasn't the first annihilate?
As far as i can tell it was the first considering i only just made the 2nd phase unless he's turbo casting them i barely got a hit on anything. I currently cannot make P2 without popping dave and i have only made P2 twice in 25 attempts. I still have 4 or so sub-par gear pieces which maybe having an effect on the difficulty. I am going back to streaming as soon as my Coffeelake I7 turns up :D you're welcome to watch me fail once i do :D Thanks for the reply man i appreciate it :)
Knowing me and my luck probably not. I will try see to get his taunt on. But I got Kruul to 20% FeelsGoodMan, my trouble is the healing mechanic to Kruul. I don't get much Orbs I'm not sure what my problem actually is but that, all honestly Velen sucks haha.
Haha spawn him outside the tower and make sure it's on. Nice work man! I think the orb spawn rate is around 30 seconds or there abouts per orb so you'll still get 3 or 4 probably from 20% down. Continue to use them as you need, be sure you keep stunning kruul via para, and once Dave is back up you'll be able to piggy back off him to victory. Good luck =)
I dont understand how the hell you stay alive in this counter, i die within 20 sec to the counter , velen heals me twice for 30k - 600k and then he just stands there and im using dave so no, im not dying to the mind thingys. Edit: Yea im gonna give up on this one. Back to back nether reflections and shadowmeld causes velen and boss to despawn.. Im crying tears QQ Anotherd edit: Nvm got it trough, cheesy way thou, died same time as kruul :D

Got my Demon hunter one and I thought I'd give Blood a crack at 897 Item Level and I killed in 4 pulls. All the tanks are done! :D
regarding hairloom trinkets, the strength trinket buff last 15 sec(and can be extended), and the agility trinket buff last 5 secs.
Can you specify which weakauras you are using for this fight? Also, love your UI. What addons are you using? Thanks!

I just started gearing my BM OS for when the tower is up again. Fucking love that weapon appearance.
You'll smash it man! Brew is super easy with invoke. If you can score leggo shoulders/chest it would be easier again!! pew pew

What ilvl are you mate? These become amazingly easier at a 930+ bracket
923 as Brew, maybe I should just farm up a bit more just to smooth it out. I get the mechanics well and hardly die from getting pushed off in P1.

Just invoking old mate, staying in to 9 stacks and using Tiger Palms on BOC boosters - you want to do as much dps as you possibly can in this first opener. With current gear lvl I wouldn't be surprised if people could get to 30% area in the opener now lol
I was just fine not doing these challenges... But then I beat the Windwalker challenge and now absolutely want to beat the Brewmaster challenge. But I just cannot for the life of me even kill Variss. I haven't even come close. I just don't understand how I'm not doing enough damage to get through Variss. Ilvl932. I interrupt drain, pull adds, stare eyes, cleave infernals, use potions and leybique and everything else! But even with dave, there's always something that slips by and kills me. I feel so defeated...
Update: I was able to kill Variss twice now after getting aggressive with the orbs. The first time I just panicked because I had never gotten to Kruul before, so I was unprepared on what to do and couldn't get a clear head. the second time I got aggressive and went for the kill and ended up getting knocked off the map the second I killed Variss... Taking a break.
Ohhh getting further though dude and that's the main thing! Just keep at it I'm sure you'll knock it over, the biggest thing about the tank challenge is getting comfortable with all the mechanics and not panicking
Dave is the statue...
I'm not a Brewmaster but why would anyone call a statue Dave? That makes no sense.

I can't remember the exact origin of the name Dave but it has been around since early W.O.D at the very least. Still a great vid as always though, keep it up! I've gotten 3 tanks down and was working on the brew. Got as low as 700k on Krull but these tips with the spec should make it easy.

Niuzao himself is actually called Dave. So the statue is Dave and invoke Niuzao is called "Angry Dave". It was popularized by Peak of Serenity and Preach. Preach even calls him Dave in his latest vid. You did nothing wrong.
Also a tip for lower ilvl brewmasters, around 900, is that you will have the most trouble in the 1st phase. Use Niuzao in the 1st phase to be able to go up to essentially 8-9 stacks of the debuff while you just dps. You can take off about 75% of the Inquisitor's hp in that time. You'll have to play P2 normally then though.

Nizuao i think has been nerfed because mine doesn't live long enough to have any real effect on the fight.
Hasn't been any nerfs I don't think my dude. What exactly is happening? Are you getting through P1 without popping Dave? First Annihilate shouldn't be hitting for 6m either through stagger and Fort Brew. You can survive the first annihilate with just ISB up and nothing else, so I'm guessing that wasn't the first annihilate?
As far as i can tell it was the first considering i only just made the 2nd phase unless he's turbo casting them i barely got a hit on anything.
I currently cannot make P2 without popping dave and i have only made P2 twice in 25 attempts.
I still have 4 or so sub-par gear pieces which maybe having an effect on the difficulty.
I am going back to streaming as soon as my Coffeelake I7 turns up :D you're welcome to watch me fail once i do :D

Have you got taunt turned on Dave? Boss should be focusing him the whole time and taking dem hits.
Knowing me and my luck probably not. I will try see to get his taunt on. But I got Kruul to 20% FeelsGoodMan, my trouble is the healing mechanic to Kruul. I don't get much Orbs I'm not sure what my problem actually is but that, all honestly Velen sucks haha.
Haha spawn him outside the tower and make sure it's on. Nice work man! I think the orb spawn rate is around 30 seconds or there abouts per orb so you'll still get 3 or 4 probably from 20% down. Continue to use them as you need, be sure you keep stunning kruul via para, and once Dave is back up you'll be able to piggy back off him to victory. Good luck =)

I dont understand how the hell you stay alive in this counter, i die within 20 sec to the counter , velen heals me twice for 30k - 600k and then he just stands there and im using dave so no, im not dying to the mind thingys.
Edit: Yea im gonna give up on this one. Back to back nether reflections and shadowmeld causes velen and boss to despawn.. Im crying tears QQ
