Herbing and mining is still fantastic, but it will not be making you gold cap unless you live in the game. But I still think it should be the most recommended as you did. Aiming for trying to get to the end of nodes to get null stones could really help out the gold an hour
This is the first time in my WoW career that I've played an expansion from day one (I guess the "early access" gimmick does have its uses, haha) and leveled an herbalist/enchanter first (just to DE). Also did lots of fishing. Sold everything I got my hands on. Raked in over 150k the first week auctioning HERBS AND FISH. I was flabbergasted; it's not exactly gold cap, but I'd never bothered with the AH before since it seemed like a waste of time. I've bought two game-time tokens since! Crafting looks daunting (nevermind expensive) so I'll likely continue to avoid that unless I want the transmog. Simple minds like myself should probably stick to gathering. 😅
I made 4 jcs so i could have access to all specs. Was a great idea until i realized i was hemorrhaging gold leveling them up. But at least now i almost at what i started expansion with plus lots of stuff to sell.
man....i went into this expansion with 150k on my whole acct, sunk most of it into enchanting/tailoring and i'm struggling to get that momentum.........and you come along and do it in an hour. I chsoe the wrong professions. Good work.
As someone coming back to WoW last playing in BFA these new profession changes has given me a huge bout of loss because there seems to be so many little tricks to the new systems.
not that this matters now but with the last 2 xpacs you can just train basic mining/herbalism and then go out so u only need the like 20 copper to get the base gathering prof and then once you gather a new world herb/ore it gives you the training for the current xpac free (just a quicker jump start rather than having to wait for the first auctions)
Thanks, a few people have come up with much better ways of doing the start than I did, considering that would have put me an hour ahead it would have made a huge difference as well.
If you want to make goldcap at the start of an expansion. Have 10-20 alts Rush them to the main city, learn crafting professiona that can make profession tools Buy mats for tools, make tools and post for 10x what it cost to craft. I made around 20 mil in 2 days of early access doing this.
Congratulations on your 20m. The point of this was to do it without using early access and without having the capital up front, like a lot of players wouldn't..
I had the alts but no time at the expo start and still the leveling of the profession at least mostly paid itself with a bit of gathering to make profit on the side. Week one or earpy acess i could be rich right now...
awesome guide and i did same all i did was mine and herb on my druid for 4-5 days then stuck all ores/herbs and etc on ah and got gold capped :) another gathering profession thats crazy good atm that also makes tons of gold is skinning have that on my rogue and making crazy bank on him :)
@@kaychak807 thank you and yeah its not impossible just takes lots of time and patience :) i bet main reason why they says is impossible cuz they just throws up all ores/herbs after a few hours or a day lol me i didnt do that i saved all of mine till i had multiple stacks of x1000 ores and herbs then i threws em all on ah :P what i think is happening is ppls might still think max cap is x200 when its not blizz changed it to max stack to being x1000
Very fascinating watch. But in 11 days, those prices have absolutely plummeted to be 50% or even 75% less than what you were making. What would you do at this point when markets are saturated?
hey there.im just a mid tier goblin here. i think I wasted too much time doing farm ( I started like 300k gold during EA). i did setting up like 10 of tailors & 9 skinners but I was producing like 30-40k perday with them. now the droprate of dawn/dusk cloths are kinda stupidly low, I felt I need to find a new easy way. i did the enchanting shuffles but it cost me too much time hunting green boes from different realms. and yeah did the hammers shuffle but it felt like annoying. like what u said, we need to find our own way to make gold. i found my way finally, its easy. i can afk, I'm so happy. yesterday I made like 100-150k, today im aiming to reach that 1mil perday
An easy way to think about it is anything that stacks herbs, ore, potions, gems are US region wide. Stuff that doesn't like gear, profession gear, mounts are server or battleground (if your on a merged group) specific.
I am a new follower and I like your videos keep up the good work. Now my question what should people do when they mess up their KP. Should I pick a new character and start over. Like some people point out you knew your way around and I guess a lot of beta knowledge.
I have great respect for your approach and perspective... and your willingness to share it with us, but I find this challenge a bit of a farce. Or at least uninteresting. You didn't get gold cap in 5 days... You got it months and months of research in the beta. You may have had to forgo some conveniences gold affords, but the knowledge of systems is far more valuable than gold. A far more interesting challenge would have been if you started 2 or 4 weeks after launch, how would you go about it when playing from behind? That mindset is more compelling IMO because it is relatable.
I was just about to write something similar but i would take it even further, why not 2 or 3 months? When there is not obvious profits. At the start of new expansion is best time to start goldmaking (i did almost 3 mil only farming no crafting no nothing only cloth farms). I would love to see when he tries to do it when all prices are relatively low and it's really difficult to pick something profitable
@@kaychak807 I don't mean it in a bad way more like a maybe proposition for next episode like this but maybe in 2 or 3 months (im taking about my comment)
@@jayjayjakub7343 No, I literally ask that at the end of the video. It depends thought because if this video does crap and no one likes it then there's no point going through all the effort of making a follow-up. See if anyone else comes up with some other suggestions too.
@@kaychak807 - Pretty much. I just wanted to state how I felt about it. I mean no disrespect and frankly after thinking of it more, I think what your challenge really did is show people the point above... you don't need gold to make gold... you need to find a need in the market and fill the need. No different than real life. This is what entrepreneurs do every day in real life. I am curious your thoughts though on what to do if you messed up and put 50+ points in bad or inefficient locations. What should that person do? I was planning on playing my alt professions hard, but I didn't AA shuffle and I'm WAY behind. As such, those toons are stuck as concentration characters.
May I ask what level of research you put into this? It seems "obvious" to do this with materials that other crafters need additional of in order to level their professions, but how did you find these items? Did you zero in on a leveling guide and look at materials that are required? Did you just "fall" upon the information yourself? THat is to say, you picked inscription for this. How did you know to do that?
Sir you kept saying u weren’t doing the acuity shuffle but they needed that to the ground prior to release. So what shuffle SHOULD I be doing with my acuity that I’m not? Appreciate your hard work and insight.
So if you already have that mount it already means you have enough gold buy what you need to turn the profit. Because I know the gather rates on herbs and ores are shit.
mate- amazing vid, I feel as if I'm constantly behind with the new crafting system, didnt really like it in DF either. Constantly afraid Im making the wrong choices, regretting each one I do decide on. Would you believe I only really found out how powerful the profession shuffle was a week or so ago, I'd seen it on your vid and in other places but looked like a massive pain so didnt bother, fully regret it. Only just got my first blue tool on herb/miner yesterday. To be fair think I'll just stick to herb mining
@@kaychak807 yh totally, and I can certainly see how it would ruin markets, think Im sticking to herb mining mate, I can now guarantee rank 2 inks on my scribe but was too late to market, Blacksmith went tools and was ok to start but market crashed, JC just seems a massive gold sink, disenchanter tailor isnt doing that bad tbh
I'm focused on the multicraft reagents market and crafting higher ranks with cheaper mats, but I'm struggling a bit with what the selling strategy should be like. Should I camp the AH and post small chunks every time it's undercut to sell everything as quickly as possible or should I just let it sit there and hope it sells? I feel like I'm also reaching a point where I'm able to craft more than what is reasonable to passively sell.
This is all really interesting, ive only started to try and get into professions this expansion and i think ive massively fucked it up haha im definitely negative with what ive earned :P I went engineering, is there an item they make that falls into the same category as the cipher?
I'd like to see this challenge redone now and exclusively on 1 character or with multiple characters with no learned professions yet, all with 0 gold. That video would make me feel more like "oh I can do that too" instead of feeling like the video itself was click baity :(
Leveling to 70 give you some gold. Leveling to 80 made me almost 20k. Gathering even now can net you 20k per hour probably. Thats enough money to level a few professions to 70 and get the green crafting gear on max quality. Blue crafting gear will be expensive but it's time gated by acuity anyways. If you just commit you will get progress but you won't make millions in no time without planning knowledge and a bit of luck
@@hurstiwursti I shouldn't be required to gather for 1000 hours to get all three equipment slots to blue for both gathering professions. Gathering is boring. The profession rework is dog shit, imo. Professions were fun and profitable before. Now I have to lose half my capital before I can start making gold. I wouldn't think it's completely trash if we could at least change our spec. The fact that you can't is gatekeepy and archaic. Not everyone has the insights to know exactly what the market is going to do from the start and make the absolute perfect choices that don't set them back for months and by the time you get set up for what was profitable, you're screwed again because what was profitable no longer is. I used to LOVE professions and goldmaking. It was the one thing I was actually good at in the game. Now I feel like I'll never truely be good at any aspect of the game and videos like this don't help. @@hurstiwursti I want to use my professions to be able to afford the things I want to spend my time doing in the game, not spend my time trying to figure out how to make gold with my professions just to lose gold instead. @@Beetlebug16 well then better stick to gathering and enchanting, its free cash without risk and enchanting you can just farm gear and disenchant whatever you cant use.
Nice one, But i think you can't repeat this challenge on week 3 "right now" because anything work well in first week on release so we can try on season 2 😅
I have played WOW from the start. I used to chase making gold and it was just a pain. Honesty though, what are you needing it for? Once I stopped buying gear and items from the AH I have earned more gold than what I can ever use by just playing the game. Gearing up by playing, questing and doing the things the game is build to do.
I dont understand how you are saying everyone should make rank 1s and 2s , on my server the only things that are profitable are rank 3's. Since day 1 the only thing that has been profitable were rank 3 crafts because people were having to use concentration to make gold.
Hey thanks for the video! could you help a noob in goldmaking out on something that is good for making gold or a good way to find what is in demand and can make you lots of gold?

@@ToastedFlowers "Multiboxing, or playing multiple World of Warcraft accounts at once, is not a violation of our End User License Agreement." Maybe make sure you know what you're talking about first.
You say that you started on a fresh character for this challenge, yet have bounced between 3. So did you abandon gathering on the Druid and start inscription on the hunter with 0 gold and no assistance from your alts? The on your rogue collecting the gold from auctions. Doesn't quite fit the theme of starting with a character and going from 0 to cap.
It was a start from 0, not a level 1 character, I said about using alt army potentially as well as long as only the gold I earned was used to pay for it.
I've played since vanilla and for the first time made 2.5 mil gold with blacksmithing. Now I am trying to understand how to invest this gold to make even more. Any ideas?
If you have alts then setting them up with concentration builds seems like a fairly low investment way to make long term passive gold. Enchanting seems really strong, Jewelcrafting seems decent, I have a playlist showing 5 different version ua-cam.com/play/PLCy6h9TBlSRAGp-dzqmdPbLWkNawI59hQ.html
Almost every craftable I see right now is not turning a profit. If it is turning a profit, the item is not sold with a fair amount of daily average across the market. The only thing I see moving well with a profit is mining/herbalism mats.
You can just go up where they kill the bees. Just wait untill they killed the mobs and loot the mobs. After a few seconds the dead mobs get free for skinning for everyone. Its free and easy, but a little boring.
interesting video but do you rely on multicraft a lot? 'cause ATM on my server a cypher sells for 696 gold, buying the mats to craft it costs 818... unless you can reliably get multicraft at least once every 8 crafts you won't even break even

sdadly this wont work on my server. Boundless Cipher currently going 500g for rank 1's. 5 Arathor's Spear is 169g. and to make 2x Apricate Ink that would cost 572g. which is cheaper than buying the mats to make the ink. I even loked at the possiblity to make just the Apricate inks. but the mats cost more than the ink itself. i looked at other professions but i cant figure out what to sell using this method. Tried looking at alloys. The mats to make the alloys cost more than the alloy itself. I tried seeing if the lens from JC to make profession tools would sell. but no ones buying those instantly. i then looked into maybe JC to prospect to sell the dust and gems from smashing and prospecitng but again, the mats cost more than the selling prioce of the dust and gems. The only thing i can think of is to do the herb/mining and sell the mats. But i lose interest and cant bring myself to do that everyday. Was hoping this would work.
I can’t link them well as I’m out on my phone but there’s one video called “1,000 artisans acuity a week” or something like that, release about a week ago, I have a few videos but that’s the best one to give a good outline.
It's easy to get rich at the beginning, everyone want 'stuff' and many cannot be bother going out to collet the materials, by the time these guides come out the bonanza is over, it's not long before all your postings come back unsold, then the undercutting starts, and you wonder why bother, sell the mats until that market falls flat.
@@kaychak807 For a few they get early access and can see the best options, get in quick knowing which materials they need to grind professions, all the farming toons are out and about collecting, many including me just play for fun and don't 100% gold farming, no matter who you speak to now, they will have loads of alts, some go many accounts, even your own admission you were getting over 1000 gold for an item, but now the gold rush has gone and it's trading for around 550-600 ish, Ill bet load ask you for TSM help/tips, some can set it up so it makes gold, posting and collecting on mass, many other cannot get it working, there are others posting their gold making ideas, but checking most of them it's now the same, the rush is over and prices have dropped.
If you want some easy basic gold making your better off trying out concentration builds, I can’t link the playlist as I’m on my phone at work but it’s the top playlist on the Channel home page, the videos are mostly titled “easy passive gold” and stuff like that. @@kaychak807 Do you have patreon or something where you teach people how to do stuff? I mean I don't need to gold cap in 5 days, but it would be cool to have enough gold to pay subscription with it or be able to buy more expensive items from AH/NPCs without the need to buy gold for real money.
I feel like if I dedicate an hour to herbalism, I only profit a little bit of gold. Am I doing something wrong? I always see people say gathering is a good way to make money but I have never seen that personally. Any advice?
To be honest gathering was really really mediocre from the very beginning, sadly it wasn't a crazy goldmaker this expansion due to poor item/crafting design needs. Even if you have all the possible knowledge points and the best tool with the best enchant you can be happy to make 50k/hour, and it has been like this from the start.
Sort of agree with this. Heard lots of 50-60k/hour doing the rounds to begin with but in previous expansions people had been hitting 100k gold an hour from it.

But at least now i almost at what i started expansion with plus lots of stuff to sell.
nice video kaychak. well done.
Thanks!
its my 1st time to see ur face cam
Come by the stream sometime!

Good work.

@adriandederko840 idk how. My total skill is 78 and I can't afford the mats to raise it higher. I specialized in shards from disenchanting.
Great video mate enjoyed this one alot.
Glad you enjoyed it
As someone coming back to WoW last playing in BFA these new profession changes has given me a huge bout of loss because there seems to be so many little tricks to the new systems.
It’s a whole end game system in itself now.
No offense, you say harder on release, but this is actually way easier on release than it is now. All of the prices have tanked dramatically.
No no, it's much easier on release that's why I say about potentially doing something like this later in the expansion to be more of a challenge.
@@kaychak807 sorry I missed that haha
good stuff, love the challenges
Glad you enjoyed
I went pretty casual during the pre-release and was just stacking gold.
If you can’t make gold during the start you just can’t make gold.
not that this matters now but with the last 2 xpacs you can just train basic mining/herbalism and then go out so u only need the like 20 copper to get the base gathering prof and then once you gather a new world herb/ore it gives you the training for the current xpac free (just a quicker jump start rather than having to wait for the first auctions)
Thanks, a few people have come up with much better ways of doing the start than I did, considering that would have put me an hour ahead it would have made a huge difference as well.
If you want to make goldcap at the start of an expansion.
Have 10-20 alts
Rush them to the main city, learn crafting professiona that can make profession tools
Buy mats for tools, make tools and post for 10x what it cost to craft.
@@hurstiwursti I think a lot of herb/miners got ahead by being online when the infinite KP bug happened, right after launch date reset

Thank you!
I'd love to see this kind of thing with Cata Classic at its current state.
awesome guide and i did same all i did was mine and herb on my druid for 4-5 days then stuck all ores/herbs and etc on ah and got gold capped :) another gathering profession thats crazy good atm that also makes tons of gold is skinning have that on my rogue and making crazy bank on him :)
Nice to hear someone gold capped from herbalism and mining, so many people saying it's impossible.
So is the moral of the story, Find something that you can sell at a profit than just mass produce it until it stops making a profit
And if a lot of people are talking about something to be crafting, then it's not going to be as profitable as something no one is targeting.
You should try the challenge again now when the season has started, and you are even more behind :D
old expac
mining is making serious gold atm too
Ya I bet, I have been paying some crazy prices for Draconium Ore etc recently.
Great Topic!
Very fascinating watch. But in 11 days, those prices have absolutely plummeted to be 50% or even 75% less than what you were making. What would you do at this point when markets are saturated?
That is likely the next challenge!
imo starting at the beginning of the expansion is when gold making is easiest. try doing this now, several months into season
you don't need to train herb or mining you just go pick or mine one and it saves you the training fee lol- not sure how people haven't noticed
also starting from 0 you either ask for someone to drop a blingtron - or pets are account bound :P
hey there.im just a mid tier goblin here. i think I wasted too much time doing farm ( I started like 300k gold during EA). i did setting up like 10 of tailors & 9 skinners but I was producing like 30-40k perday with them. now the droprate of dawn/dusk cloths are kinda stupidly low, I felt I need to find a new easy way. i did the enchanting shuffles but it cost me too much time hunting green boes from different realms. and yeah did the hammers shuffle but it felt like annoying. like what u said, we need to find our own way to make gold. i found my way finally, its easy. i can afk, I'm so happy. yesterday I made like 100-150k, today im aiming to reach that 1mil perday
AFK gold is the best gold, love it.
I suspect this would Change according to server and is probably less likely on a low pop backwater server in a low pop Battle group.
Everything bought and sold here is on the region wide auction house.
@kaychak807 define region, please. In the US, only the realms in the same battle group have a shared auction house.
I would suggest googling region wide auction house. There's a wowhead article that explains it in depth.
Starting over you will to far behind as well, so it won't really help.
this was recorded a week ago it seems.
Don't I literally say this in the video? I edited a few days ago so can't 100% remember ..
I’d be happy just making a million. I don’t think I’ve ever had more than 200k gold at any point in my 20 years playing WoW
Druid is the king of herb farming
Sir you kept saying u weren’t doing the acuity shuffle but they needed that to the ground prior to release. So what shuffle SHOULD I be doing with my acuity that I’m not? Appreciate your hard work and insight.
I can’t link the video now as I’m on my phone but on the channel there’s a video called “1,000 artisans acuity a week”.
Herb and mining is great. We talk on steam about this a lot , it really sucks you can’t respect, but it would be totally abusable, not an easy answer.
Camping almost becomes necessary to make good sales at a certain point as your competition will be doing it 😟.

Besides parts maybe? It's all a learning lesson, you know more for next time now at least.
@@kaychak807 yeah just checked. Safety switches have a profit of 30 gold haha
I've tried looking, do you have a guide where it explains what you're doing, your thoughts, your kp thought process, your calculations?
Make me feel like I can actually get somewhere and not lose a ton of gold instead of showing me something was achievable for one week if you already had the gold and the characters...
@@hurstiwursti I want to use my professions to be able to afford the things I want to spend my time doing in the game, not spend my time trying to figure out how to make gold with my professions just to lose gold instead. That's not a big ask. You used to be able to do this. You can't anymore. Not unless you already have the millions of gold to lose in the first place.
@@Beetlebug16 well then better stick to gathering and enchanting, its free cash without risk and enchanting you can just farm gear and disenchant whatever you cant use.

Why does someone push m+ score past the rewards? Why clear a mythic raid when you can get the same gear from vault for a fraction of the effort?
I dont understand how you are saying everyone should make rank 1s and 2s , on my server the only things that are profitable are rank 3's. Since day 1 the only thing that has been profitable were rank 3 crafts because people were having to use concentration to make gold.
Why are people crafting them if they are unprofitable? Just because they are unprofitable for you, its doesn’t mean it’s the same for them.
Hey thanks for the video! could you help a noob in goldmaking out on something that is good for making gold or a good way to find what is in demand and can make you lots of gold?

You say that you started on a fresh character for this challenge, yet have bounced between 3. So did you abandon gathering on the Druid and start inscription on the hunter with 0 gold and no assistance from your alts? The on your rogue collecting the gold from auctions. Doesn't quite fit the theme of starting with a character and going from 0 to cap.
It was a start from 0, not a level 1 character, I said about using alt army potentially as well as long as only the gold I earned was used to pay for it.

sdadly this wont work on my server. Boundless Cipher currently going 500g for rank 1's. 5 Arathor's Spear is 169g. and to make 2x Apricate Ink that would cost 572g. which is cheaper than buying the mats to make the ink. i looked at other professions but i cant figure out what to sell using this method.

Haven't really played much TWW but mining and herbalism usually become a LOT less lucrative 2-3 weeks after an expansion launch, it might be that
To be honest gathering was really really mediocre from the very beginning, sadly it wasn't a crazy goldmaker this expansion due to poor item/crafting design needs. Even if you have all the possible knowledge points and the best tool with the best enchant you can be happy to make 50k/hour, and it has been like this from the start.
