Mark, you’re the best at what you do! Your content is always based on the time honored synthesis between trout, anglers, the environment, and our resplendent sport. I wish you a long and happy and successful endeavor with our piscatorial pastime. Well done!
I think I enjoyed this video more then any others. This is my favorite kind of fishing. Maybe not the biggest fish but everything just works together to make it amazing. One of my favorite memories is fishing a very small creek in Yellowstone national park and catching dozens of brookies with my kids.
Very nice. I need to go there soon. I spent 3 months last year in the Driftless area of Wisconsin for browns. Small, beautiful in color and so rewarding. Fish for a week and not see anyone on the rivers. Love it. I am retired with an RV, Jeep, and kayak searching for hidden gems to fish. Look forward to seeing more from you.
I listened to most of your episode as I was driving a tractor trailer out of Nashville to the Quad cities today. Im glad you had an enjoyable time. @ least someone is. My home waters are much to warm to handle trout in streams. They are present in a few of the larger lakes. But so are Big Mouth Bass, which hold my attention. Along with Crappie, Catfish, Blue Gills, Bass, Carp.
It looked like a great trip ! Thanks for bringing us along. I find myself lost with some of the lingo, but I will get there some day. The acronyms get me because I am so new to this.
idaho looks like one of a kind! you guys should come down and check out tennessee sometime! we have some hidden gems out here. as always great video well done!
I like seeing you guys doing DIY trips, guides are great and everyone should use one for multiple reasons once and awhile. But the resorts you often show are outside most people's expectations for a vacation do to cost, location and considering spouses idea of a getaway etc. While a one day DYI trip on a one week long vacation is more realistic. Keep up the good work!
Do you have a book or can you recommend one that would teach the basics such as sel😢ecting the right lines leaders and tippet as well as knots, flies etc.

Beautiful little natives. I love the New Fly Fisher series videos but is it just me or do all the cast sound like they are part hoot owl when they say words like "out" and "trout"? :)Kinda knocks me out of the feeling of being there in Idaho, Montana or Wyoming. But I'm just jealous as I'd like to host my own falconry / fly fishing combo trip videos I call "Rip and Slips". Keep up the great content.
My favorite type of fly fishing. I bought an RV to do this along with other fun thing. Covid has screwed my plans up. My wife’s family has a homestead in Craigmont Idaho.just asked her to remind her cousins NOT to sell it without allowing me a first offer
Awesome. I do the same type of fishing in the sierras…small trout hunting. Question: when you’re wading, have your rod and net in your right hand and only one hand to deal with the fish, how do you get the fly out? I don’t remember seeing any shots of how you do this. I
Love it when I see another "southpaw" casting correctly, meaning "letting the rod do the work" instead of a wrist. You just reminded me to visit Idaho again.
Small stream fishing for small eager trout ...never gets old ...

Where do you fish that they refer to them as Big Mouth Bass?
Never heard that term before only Large and Small mouth. Lol
The northeast corner of Iowa has plenty of small trout streams keep trucking and Wisconsin to South to the Illinois border

One of the recent videos features a place that is $110 CDN a night. Carolyn Beach Inn & Resort
Sawtelle resort is just up the road from Henry's lake. You can actually see it from there.
There are tons of places to fish in that area.
I would like someday to find some small feeder streams up there for bull trout

The little creeks are fun, but if you can find one with a network of beaver ponds...then you can get into some big fish.
Nice 👍
Was in Island Park early Oct. Snowed every day for a week, and cold. It appears you had much nicer weather. My catch rate was much less than yours.
Good video. !!
Hello ,
Love the video I’m fellow conservationist that lived in Lava how can I get more involved in these local projects?
Cheers

Barbless hooks. Most of the time once a fish is netted the hook will just fall right out.

Been there done that on my one weight
What brand of net is that? I’m in the market for a new one and like the looks of it.
Hi Frank, that is a Fishpond net... GREAT net !
I have that same sling bag, and it is driving me crazy that he has it on the other shoulder.
I'm left handed and it drives me crazy to have it on the other shoulder.. I get used to it feeling weird.
Mark
😍😍😍😍😍😍😍 super
For Pete’s sake, show us some closeups of the brookies. That’s the whole friggin’ point!!
Better to catch your own and see them in person 👍😂🤣
The way he says chrowt instead of trout is cringey
