Brad, you are insanely awessome! I appreciate you more than you know. I can't wait to send you our newest coffee photos. We moved up north about 1.5 hours to a community with a language school. The coffee houses up here are incredible. Simple, but unique. Some tucked in the woods, some on the muddy river banks. You are probably picing up from these videos that I am a pretty frugal guy. Before you I bought coffee maybe two to three times a year. I have always struggled to justify a cup outside of my home. But man have you opened up a great new coffee world for me and May. Kind of kicking myself for being overly frugal in regards to coffee in the past.

I am so glad that people are starting to create new trailers that look different than the generic ones that have been made for the past 30 years. This really looks retro and is gorgeous.
As a teardrop owner, I’d go for the model that has a bathroom. Mainly because some campgrounds require a rig to be “self-contained”. Some National Park campgrounds, for instance, explicitly prohibit portable showers. Most trips I’d probably use the bathroom as storage but it’s nice to have when needed. Plus we wouldn’t need the bigger kitchen space since we prefer to cook outdoors. Thanks for sharing this with the community, Drew!

I experienced the same kind of life, I am 74, and I still deal with it. You are strong, and u will get thru it. As old as I am, I still deal with feeling no one thinks I have a brain. Now it is double trouble because I am an older adult now. You're old, you are not thinking straight . Oh, you just don't remember. Now I know that things are not as clear as they were when I was 20, 30, or older. But I am very active and have a brain, and it works really well.

Actually, I *am* a grandma and I *do* have a canned ham 🙂 This Sellwood is a beautiful trailer, extremely well appointed with so much storage! However, I love my little 1969 Shasta Compact and I wouldn't trade up for the world. Best wishes to this company; it is a gorgeous product. Great vid!
Love it! We miss Molly Lou our Shasta Compact very much. I see why you wouldn't trade yours. At first I wanted the rounder canned ham style camper. But I came to really love the shape of our little squared off Compact. This Grandmas (your) compact trailer weighs nearly 1/3 the weight of this trailer. That in itself is hard to beat! Not to mention owning a little piece of history. .
@@tam6912 Hmmm.. Good question. I always assumed it was because the hallway is narrow so to give a bit more feet room. Or because drawers and slides take up space. So this would be an area where you utilize 100% of the space for larger items.
@@tam6912 open storage area under kitchen is on the bottom level, and is oddly shaped. inclusion of drawers would segment and reduce the amount of available space. I imagine there's also miscellaneous obstructions in there for the plumbing etcetera that would interfere with drawers. Swing open panels maximize available area for storage.

I appreciate the kind words Jody. They mean a lot to me. And you are absolutely right. May has been watching me moap around for the last 24 hours. I am really kicking myself for this. But at the same time I know trailers fairly well. I should have known this pricing wouldn't last. I actually KNEW it wouldn't last. But I was hoping it would hold out until the new year. All in all though. I love what Brian and his team has made. And I am just glad it is out there period.

Yessss! This is the innovation we need in the camper space! Excellence use of space, multiple sleeping spaces in small space. Good quality. Bathroom! Never heard of this trailer till now but now it’s at the top of my list.
Same design as we had growing up. No bathroom, hammock, and so forth. I really like the old opening windows better than the current sliding windows. This is great!
I agree those jalousie/Louvered windows are a nice touch. Did you notice them on the kitchen layout version? That version was Brian’s personal trailer so he took old windows from a vintage trailer and put them in
For single campers it would be nice to have it pre-wired for a backup camera. When you have no one to help guide you into a spot the rear camera is a must have.
I completely agree with this statement. For my family, I even make it a standard practice for us. What I find is we often get to campgrounds late and my wife and the boys are sleeping. Getting May out to be my spotter in the dark is a bit disorienting for her and tends to wake up the boys before we have anywhere ready for them to transition to. That back up camera gives me just enough visual to feel comfortable, backing it into an area with trees and rocks. If you use the back up, camera only is a visual and not as a back up aid I find it works best. Meaning use the mirrors for backing up and use the camera for locating potential hazards. To this, I will also add having back up Lights is also a must have for our family as well. Well, maybe not a must have because I rarely use them, but when I had a trailer with them, it was really nice
@@PlayingwithSticks Your side mirrors are great if you’re backing straight in where you can see both sides of the camper but if you have to back in at an angle you lose your view on one side so the backup camera really becomes necessary and not just as bonus aid.
That’s a good point I never thought of that. My view on these has always been, even if it gives you a different angle of view it can be a bit disorienting. Meaning I try to use only the mirrors and if I have to use the camera it’s when I’m in the parked position. I find this much safer.
@@1946luke can you see both sides of the camper in side mirrors if you’re backing in at an angle? No. You lose the view on one side. Not all campsites are easy to back into without another person to watch on the blind side.
Hi!😊 I love, love this beautiful, quality built retro looking camper!! I’ve wanted something like this for a very long time and almost bought a remodeled vintage trailer about 8 years ago, but was a bit scared of the quality of the rebuild and didn’t want to buy something I might have to “fix” once it was mine. We all want value for our money and this beautiful camper is so spacious for it’s size, sleeping accommodations are remarkable, having a quality shower, no black tank to deal with, and the storage!!!! By the way I counted 18 drawers and doors of storage inside. I didn’t include the outside storage which I know you can access from inside, as well! Man that’s some great storage in such a small camper & I love it! Thanks for the video, PLEASE keep making these kind of videos!!!! I’d watch them all day!! Great job!!🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩

I have been talking with my wife May for about a year regarding this trailer. I kept telling her we have to show this to everyone. It was one of those trailers that kind of went under the radar. And then I always get a little worried when I go to see these special trailers. I get worried that when I get there, they just won’t be what I was hoping for. And this one did not disappoint! I’m really glad to hear you are enjoying these videos. They are really fun to make as well. Basically this gives me the chance to go on a never ending hunt for my dream trailer. And it’s fun because along the way, we get to help other people find their dream trailer.

Wow, I really like this having big camper specs and features in a small package. Sleeping a full family, a bathroom. Plus the build quality that really sets it apart.

I love the hammock! The window cover solution looks like it is easy to maintain and is local made, liking that. I can believe that the supply train drove up the price and the increase is not going into their pocket. It is expensive to keep staff ( wages, benefits, taxes etc.) and if you are building a quality item you need trained people who enjoy coming to work so they will care about what they produce. You want cheap you are going to get garbage, factory slap together. This looks like a one time purchase that you enjoy until you can't camp any more.
I couldn’t have said it better myself. I hope my comment didn’t come across as though I thought they were lining their pockets. When they first released this trailer, just Brian and his son mainly were building them. And it was also before all the supply chain issues. In the last couple years as you know, these wood prices have gotten out of control and that goes with many other components to this build as well. It would’ve been fun to show a $28,000 trailer to the community, but those times have passed.

If I were to order one of these, I would go for the LAVEO dry flush toilet. No need for a stink pipe to make another hole in the roof. All that's needed is a 12volt source to actuate the motor to spin off the bowl contents for the next use. I have one in my class B van and Love it!!!
They did a great job with this trailer. As a vintage trailer owner (actually I've had a few) I fully appreciate the attention to details that they took to create a vintage vibe with more modern amenities. They've done a great job emulating the vintage layouts and exterior styling. I also really like the fact that they didn't cheap out with the materials like some of the larger production trailer companies do with their Retro or Vintage styled trailers. This trailer stands way above them in quality and styling. Nicer interior materials and finishes and very nice exterior skins and styling (although I prefer the jalousie windows on the side over the flat pane sliders). Price wise compared to what you'd pay for one of those other larger production brands, while it is a little bit high I don't think the Sellwood is too far off the mark on pricing giving materials costs etc. right now. You get what you pay for and it's obvious that these guys take pride in the quality of the product that they put out. Hopefully they'll be able to keep to that standard as they go forward. We’ve definitely considered it! I keep pushing for a 16’ that combines the amenities of both…a spacious kitchen and a bathroom. Once we have the Sellwood 13’ dialed in, I’m hoping that will be the next trailer we prototype out! Are there any other features you think would be useful to add in a bigger version?
Have you redone your vintage campers? I got a camper similar to this from the 70s and I’m redoing but I’m running into issues because it’s a learning experience and I don’t have anyone to ask my questions to 😂 it has a bathroom and I want to waterproof it as good as I can so I could shower in it. However I’m a bit scared to just take on fiberglassing but that seems like the only option. The bathroom is small enough I can’t find a pan or anything that’d fit
This thing is at most 10k, I've seen 5th wheelers being sold USED for 8-9k (of course with issues) but that's marginally a better deal than this thing.

I really like the look and design of these trailers. Just messed around a little on the website and you can really customize these things to fit your needs. The vintage look that they went for is a lot better looking than some of the other manufacturers that try to make a vintage looking camper in my opinion.
Agreed. And not to mention that this is a "real" trailer. Not a cheap mass produced RV that is designed to last 4 years and has a fake vintage exterior.
I would just like to say, when I was a kid my family had a 1966 model year 16 foot Prairie Schooner travel trailer. It also had a hammock style bunk bed that my father had made from two galvanized plumbing pipes with a board on either wall. He went to a local business that made canvas boat covers to custom make a sling for the bunk part. This was my bed when we went camping. I sincerely thank you for the memories.

You did a great job with interior design, light colors to increase the perceived size of the trailer. A lot of manufacturers ruin their product by choosing overly dark or bright colors, which make the interior seem much smaller, cluttered, even claustrophobic. Good job on this.

My vintage Winchester has the exact same layout as the non-bathroom Sellwood. If I could find someone to renovate for me it would almost be the perfect trailer. I do wish I had a bathroom and so this is going on my list. Thank you Drew!
I forgot to mention that the previous owner of my camper added that drop down bunk to it for his kids. I never use it and would love to make it more accessible for storage with the doors!
Both versions of this trailer are very nice. I would prefer the one with the shower. I enjoy cooking outside so the bigger kitchen isn't necessary for only myself. Very well designed, and built, fantastic job! Thank you for the tour.
I am impressed with a few things on these trailers. First, never seen a sofa so easily converted into a bed,usually it’s multiple steps. Secondly the innovative design of sleeping space. Whose seen a hammock in any camper before? And the fold down cabinets that can be converted into a bed? That’s out of the box thinking. Third, the space. It was mentioned but it is so important to be able to move around. What if you are trapped indoors on a rainy day? Lastly, design. No one else I’ve seen builds with a retro look. They are all very cookie cutter designs and don’t look classy like these do. Only additions I’d like to see would be a back up camera for safety and an option to put solar on the roof for a continuous off grid power supply.
I love it when people see the value of this trailer! Like you, I absolutely love this trailer. We get so many comments from people on here, not in agreement with you and I. It’s really a work of art. And very functional in the field as well.
This is so much like the 1971 Volunteer trailer we had when I was growing up. Our 13 footer had a bathroom/shower and a closet along with a stove/oven. Back couch/bed and front dinette/bed. Ours also had front and back pull down bunks. I'm not sure about that back hammock. I love this and have been looking for something just like this. I was sold until I saw the price.
Its tough. Because if you underbuild a trailer then it functions poorly. But if you overbuild a trailer than it costs too much. I am more interested in trailers built to last if taken care of, but not overbuilt.
This looks nearly identical to our old ‘74 Field and Stream, same layout as #2 and even same exterior colors. It’s at least 10 inches wider, though, and the extra width makes a huge difference. Honestly the price isn’t that bad, and you’ll have a far better experience with a new camper with modern materials and systems than most vintage campers.
How neat is that. We looked at a smaller version of the Field and Stream. I believe it was a 13' layout maybe even smaller. We ended up going with a Shasta Compact because someone beat us to the Field and Stream. And yes, good point on the price. It really isn't that bad. I was just dissapointed that we all just missed the $28K price tag. And you are absolutely right. This trailer is built to last generations, where the others are built for limited use.
This is just like my 1967 Avalon. I would rather have this than the new micro Winnie I just got. I always loved my old one. The frame finally went. Tough travels

Agreed. The weight would be my biggest concern. But if I already owned a tow vehicle that was equipped for something like this I think it would be a no brainer. I love how small it is, but still packs a big punch in terms of amenities and space utilization. And as for prices today. It is so tough finding a good trailer at what I would consider an affordable price for the masses. We are in this weird time where everyone is overbuilding trailers. I am calling it the "small camper trailer space race" It is neat becuase the competition is creating greater trailers. But they are beginning to outprice many of our pocketbooks.
So many reminders of the Serro Scotty! My parents had a 15 ' Gaucho model and had the hammock bed (which I only used once ... the dinette was more comfortable.) Many years later I got one of the rare 18' Trunkback models, and it had the same kind of upper closet/fold-down bed conversion, except it was over the rear bed. Nice to see the concepts in use again!
Beautiful camper. We have been looking for sleeping options for kids that didn't have to share without going to be longer in length in a camper. This one is perfect, but the cost is a bit much for what we want to spend for camping. The older campers from the 50s and 60s had these sleeping options.
I like it. Love little compact, functional trailers. The vintage design is cool. Man, I would love to have a little camper like this just for me. We have a big-ass Grand Design and the family are basically glampers. I'm a purist and geologist by trade so a little pull behind for just me would be great.
What an absolute treat of a trailer. It made me smile. I don't need a bathroom but that kitchen one looks fantastic. The difference with this one and the Retro style campers is the squareness. It allows for such a large amount of upper cabinet space. And upper bed space. The hammock is a fantastic idea. Especially for a family. And it has four jacks! So many trailers only come with the two in the rear. I would have to go for the torsion axles only because I know how rough leaf spring axles can ride. Which add a lot of shaking to the components. I'm not one to talk about price, but, you get what you pay for it looks like this is up there with a quality product. Question, does the front door hit the struts of the awning? It looked close and I thought I heard a sound.
You nailed it. As your can tell Brian actually camps. And the trailer reflects that. As for the price you are also right. When you overbuild something it costs more plain and simple. I wish you all could have physically walked through it with me. That was the most solid "larger" small camper I have ever been in. I also wish I had a video of the framing. I couldn't believe how robust it was. Good pointn on the axles. Current setup it is more of a campground trailer thyat you drive to your boondocking sites carefully. This is how we used our Shasta Compact. We took it to most of our camping sites. But we drove much slower, had the assistant out of the vehicle over ever large bump and gap, and generally babied it more. Someone else mentioned the front door hitting the struts of the awning. I wonder if Brian has come up with a workaround since I shot this.
It is a tough market right now! Evevn some of my favorite trailers that I would have bought a couple of years ago, now make me uncomfortable with their new prices.

When I was a kid in the late 60's and early 70's, we had a little travel trailer that was just about identical to this one. It was made by Forester in Forest City, Iowa. It would sleep 5 and I got to sleep in the top bunk bed. I did actually fall out of it one night. We went all over the country during summer vacations and had a great time!
What a great layout! Just the cabinet/bunk in and of itself is such ingenuity. Do you like this trailer as much as I do? Or is there something I am overlooking? Let me know what you love or think can be improved.

In terms of forest roads, I would work with Brian to get the best set up. In the current set up, it would work, but you’d have to take it nice and slow and monitor it just like we do with the Shasta Compact. I think Brian can give you a little more clearance, you wouldn’t need much more. For example, I find the standard scamp clearance can get us almost anywhere. In terms of snow that’s a tough one. Basically, I find most trailers kind of perform the same. Clearance isn’t that big of a deal because the wheels are not attached to any sort of powered mechanism. So basically, even if you hit a little snow berm, they can be dragged through. What it comes down to is stopping distance and power of the vehicle to get the tow vehicle through the snow. So basically, you want something with a pretty good towing capacity for a trailer like this if you’re going to use it in unpredictable snow circumstances.
I’m in love with the hammock beds and the quality/color of woodwork is beautiful. Did I miss any speakers or sound system (I was eating when watching so might have missed it.) Love the right angles for space and vintage feel. Honestly really tired of everything looking alike these days with their round auto dynamics.
In 1976, I drove the real used vantage trailer a 14’ X 6-8’ forget the name of the company counting the tong it was 17’ long . My wife two young children and my mother-in-law . We did all the spots Grand Canyon. South and North Dakota , Mt. Rushmore, Badlands, Las Vegas, Hoover Dam, Estes Park were there was a Big flood that killed over 100 campers two days after we had left the camp ground, GRAND Tetons, Lake Tahoe, Big Sur , Santa Barbara , LA, San FRANCISCO, Alamo, Carlsbad caverns , Baton Rouge, Birmingham AL., Virginia and West Virginia, The Freedom Bell in Pa. and many many more places I have not listed. The trip was 6 weeks long and I drove 10,000 mile and I Loved ever minute ever the good, the bad and the ugly like my car braking down in North Dakota where I found some really good people that helped us a lot . SO GOD BLESSED AMERICA WITH SO MUCH BEAUTY AND IF YOU CAN GO SEE IT ALL ! Oh yes not to many years ago my wife and I went to see Yellow Stone Park which we had to pass up in 1976 because it would have added 2 thousand more miles to our trip. So in closing GOD BLESS AMERICA!
I LOVE this trailer! It reminds me so much of the little blue Shasta my aunt had when I was little! It is nice to see that trailer manufacturers have finally figured out that trailers aren't subject to the same safety requirements which make modern cars all so ugly and boring. We can have studiously retro trailers! And yes the mitered corner windows truly do sell it! They are key to that mid-century look. Those hard angles instantly set this trailer apart from something like a RetroLiner. Good job!
Is that going to be a weak point over time, like in the BOAC planes w square windows for the same reason...?? They crashed from metal fatigue at the corners, btw.
I'd be concerned about tempered glass in the front window. Although uncommon, tempered glass can have catastrophic sudden destruction from nickel sulfide inclusion defects. Laminated glass (Vistabule) or polycarbonate ( Escapod) eliminate this issue. Looks like this window is flat and likely could be replaced locally. That would be a big benefit if the glass did need repair.
Thanks for chiming in here. That is way out of my wheelhouse. I was noticing on Brian's camper that he had a rock guard on the front window. But I didn't notice one on the bathroom layout. I am kind of confused. I can't remember seeing one when we towed it out there. I slept in Brian's trailer so I feel like I know it well, but the other layout I am not as familiar with.
Yes! I think a lot of people are going to appreciate this trailer because many small camper trailers make it almost impossible for taller people to use them comfortably
I wanted to make sure people understood where this trailer stands in the market in terms of quality. We have a friend who is an insurance claims adjuster, and she has data on all the most popular trailers in the country. It’s been really neat to take a look and see which trailers outperform each other. Now unfortunately they don’t have good data on these smaller trailers. One of the ones that surprised me was the quality difference of the argosy versus the airstream. What I found funny was that even though the argosy was made by airstream and was put out to be their budget model, it actually outperforms the airstream in terms of what the data says. Now don’t get me wrong. I still love airstream trailers. I just want people to know just because of the price point and the way it looks it doesn’t mean it’s necessarily better than other trailers on the market.
I was wondering when you would get around to one of these brand new canned hams. I'm not into all the ammentities myself but that's just me. I knew the price was going to be up there with all that this trailer came with. I like the second one without the bathroom much better. Again that's just me. The workmanship is just great. Love the attention to detail. So if you're going to spend $30 or $40k on a trailer. These are the ones to do it with. Guess I'm going to have to start charging more LOL..
I think this is the only new canned ham we will ever see on here. I feel the others are just "RV"s with a cute canned ham exterior glued to the outside. Haha. So far this is the only "real" modern retro trailer I have come across. If anyone is reading this post and you want to learn how to restore a trailer, check out Mobiltec's site. Wow! Dometic is still in business! In 1967, I remember stopping in Indiana(?) to replace the broken refrigerator in our trailer. I think we went to the factory. We were enroute to CA on our cross country trip from NY.
The only thing I don’t like or understand. What have the bathroom next to where you eat, and fridge in the back where you sleep. It should be switched.
Nice trailer! I personally really appreciate small trailers with bathrooms so this is a great find, especially since it's a bit bigger than a lot of them. Also btw you didn't blur the license plate at 2:26. Just wanted to let you know since you seemed to be making an effort to blur it in all the other shots.
Darn. Thank you for catching that. I had so many issues trying to get it out of the shot. I will try again using the UA-cam editor. And yes, I agree. Making it slightly bigger made a ton of difference. This felt more like a tiny home or a large trailer than a small trailer. Even though the footprint at 13' is quite small.
I'm really glad that a lot of people is getting on this band wagon with van life, rv life its a great alternative for buying a house, you don't have to buy a house I think it's great for young people too, to just live life by saving money and traveling

I agree, the price is a pretty big pill to swallow and if you are willing to spend the money for this, there are a bunch of other choices. I know the builder needs to make a profit; however, the initial offering price made this very competitive. P.S. I noticed what looked like one of those rolling grey/black tanks under the bed of the kitchen model. Wonder what that was about?
Agreed. I would be kitchen floor plan as well. And as for the gray water tank. I was wondering the same thing. I even slept in that model. I don't think my gray water was just running out the bottom? But maybe I was supposed to hook that tank up. I just assumed there was a gray water tank in there. Many vintage trailers have water holding tanks, but no gray tanks.
Yeah, no. There's NO WAY these items are worth what they're charging now. I got quoted 800 a MONTH on a 32k minivan. Just to know when the time comes. F that. I'll go a few years down and pay cash. No way I'm.paying that high an interest rate!
From the outside it looks like an old Shasta camper that we used back in the day…when we were hunting. It was high and dry. Certainly better than a tent. It had an easy to install awning with screen to keep out unwanted pests.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts here. Brian talked about the lift. Like you, this is something potential owners have already been asking for. I am also kicking myself for not askng the shower height. I would be really interested to know how tall it is. Good point on the aluminum. I think that would really help with the weight of this trailer. Because it is built so well (overbuilt) each section of the trailer really adds up in terms of weight.

Esp. like the quick sofa to bed set up. Cool hammock!! Bathroom is an appreciated and important feature if you’re trying to decide. It makes all the diff in personal comfort at night and just after a long day to take a hot shower and get in a cozy bed w/o going to the campground facility.
I really appreciate your review and comments. I find my frustration less about the cost of a well crafted trailer and more about the cost of the tow vehicle. I’d love a scamp et al but my husband and I are too tall for any of the lightweight fiberglass trailer. This Aero had my attention at 80”. I can dream. I’ll have to stick with tents until we hit the lottery. Thanks for the wide selection of reviews and craftsmen.
I should clarify that. I don't have an issue with the price. Meaning, I think it costs a lot to build this trailer in terms of labor and materials. I just wish it wasn't so overbuilt that there was an affordable option. Or better yet, I wish this same option was available at that $28K price that was listed earlier this year. But again, I get it. And I completely agree with you. That tow vehicle really becomes the limiting factor for many of us. And yes, I haven't seen a lightweight trailer out there yet that supports tall people. Have you seen the stand up teardrop trailer Charles is building for us? At it's highest point it should be about 6'5" or 6'7". It will come in at less than 1,000lbs. I wonder if there is a market for a similar trailer, but with a kitchen and bath. Basically a standup trailer with good height and low weight.
@@PlayingwithSticks Yes, I have been following that teardrop and am very curious what you two devise! I'll admit that I love love love my Subaru Forester b/c we're tall people, and it's affordable for us. But my particular forester can't tow anything over 1500lbs, so a 1,000 lb standup teardrop would be a very tempting choice. I think it's also an issue not just about stand up height, but the length of the beds - normally they stop at 72" - 74" and that's not going to cut it. I am on-the-fence about bathrooms so any plan that can have or not have a bath are Ok with me. Good beds, storage & good views are all I care about. The less stuff to fuss with, the better. The cool hammock bed & cabinet turns into bed are great ideas for re- doing a vintage camper !! This is bad ass!! Love it for sure my number one choice IF I was buying brand new!! Amazing.
The very light colored wood really makes it comfortable looking and larger. I would drop the "hammock" all together. Like all of the windows and really appreciate a window over the sink. I want light! If not so equipped, add a few more dimmable ceiling lights. Nice trailer. I'm single so this is a good size for me.
Glad to see trailers going with the Truma water heaters. They work flawlessly compared to the old one that cycled hot cold hot cold and were garbage. I added one to my trailer after we bought it. Dumped the old POS heater.
Reminds me of the 67 Jet we used as our first camper. We bought it for 500.00 from an elderly couple who were done using it. Our kids got to experience a bit of camping, ours didn't have a shower/toilet space. But we got our moneys worth out of it. Lots of fun memories. 😀
Beautiful trailer. Great storage and love the ingenuity in providing more sleeping areas. My only change in the bathroom model would be to have no cooktop and design with cutting board to fit over sink. Price is quite high, too.
I bought a used older camper and I love it. It's not a big rv but it will work for us and not really expense. It's all in what you can do or want to do too. But, I feel I couldn't afford a camper like this.
I spent the first year of my life (1943-4) in a 16' long canned ham trailer built in the 1930s. After the war, it was used for camping trips before it was sold. I was interested to notice how similar the layout in that trailer was to the way this one is arranged. Of course our old trailer had no bathroom or water storage tanks, but the two seating/sleeping areas at the front and back and the position of the kitchen area is the same. Our trailer had a convenient feature this one doesn't have. The doors to closets on either side could be opened and fastened together to form a small private area at the back of the trailer. Especially considering the lack of a bathroom, this was very handy!
This looks almost exactly like the old 1966 Westwind 16 footer that I refurbished! My X wife named it Route 66 and we went with a 50's-60's diner. Black and white vinyl tile floor we had curtains custom made that had classic cars on them and matching blue cushions.
The layout of the non bathroom model is similar to the 16 ft Shasta my family of 6 traveled in during the 1950's and 60's. We had no electric power at all. The water was handpump, it had an icebox, and 2 built in gas lights with the old silk mesh lamps. There was huge pass through storage under the rear bed. 2 littlest kids shared the rear canvas bunk with heads at opposite ends.

Brad, you are insanely awessome! I appreciate you more than you know. I can't wait to send you our newest coffee photos. We moved up north about 1.5 hours to a community with a language school. The coffee houses up here are incredible. Simple, but unique. Some tucked in the woods, some on the muddy river banks. You are probably picing up from these videos that I am a pretty frugal guy. Before you I bought coffee maybe two to three times a year. I have always struggled to justify a cup outside of my home. But man have you opened up a great new coffee world for me and May. Kind of kicking myself for being overly frugal in regards to coffee in the past.

As a teardrop owner, I’d go for the model that has a bathroom. Mainly because some campgrounds require a rig to be “self-contained”. Some National Park campgrounds, for instance, explicitly prohibit portable showers. Most trips I’d probably use the bathroom as storage but it’s nice to have when needed. Plus we wouldn’t need the bigger kitchen space since we prefer to cook outdoors. Thanks for sharing this with the community, Drew!

I experienced the same kind of life, I am 74, and I still deal with it. You are strong, and u will get thru it. As old as I am, I still deal with feeling no one thinks I have a brain. Now it is double trouble because I am an older adult now. You're old, you are not thinking straight . Oh, you just don't remember. Now I know that things are not as clear as they were when I was 20, 30, or older. But I am very active and have a brain, and it works really well.

Love it! We miss Molly Lou our Shasta Compact very much. I see why you wouldn't trade yours. At first I wanted the rounder canned ham style camper. But I came to really love the shape of our little squared off Compact. This Grandmas (your) compact trailer weighs nearly 1/3 the weight of this trailer. That in itself is hard to beat! Not to mention owning a little piece of history. .
Why aren’t the open storage areas roll out drawers also?
@@tam6912 Hmmm.. Good question. I always assumed it was because the hallway is narrow so to give a bit more feet room. Or because drawers and slides take up space. So this would be an area where you utilize 100% of the space for larger items.

@@tam6912 open storage area under kitchen is on the bottom level, and is oddly shaped. inclusion of drawers would segment and reduce the amount of available space. I imagine there's also miscellaneous obstructions in there for the plumbing etcetera that would interfere with drawers. Swing open panels maximize available area for storage.
A refreshingly different trailer, reminiscent of retro European caravans. I like it muchly, particularly the interior space and light.

I appreciate the kind words Jody. They mean a lot to me. And you are absolutely right. May has been watching me moap around for the last 24 hours. I am really kicking myself for this. But at the same time I know trailers fairly well. I should have known this pricing wouldn't last. I actually KNEW it wouldn't last. But I was hoping it would hold out until the new year. All in all though. I love what Brian and his team has made. And I am just glad it is out there period.

This one looks just like the ones that my mom an grandparents had when I was a kid. Great times and great memories.
Love the size and how easily the rear bed slides out. Having leg room is so important for taller individuals to get peaceful and comfortable sleep.

For single campers it would be nice to have it pre-wired for a backup camera. When you have no one to help guide you into a spot the rear camera is a must have.
I completely agree with this statement. For my family, I even make it a standard practice for us. What I find is we often get to campgrounds late and my wife and the boys are sleeping. Getting May out to be my spotter in the dark is a bit disorienting for her and tends to wake up the boys before we have anywhere ready for them to transition to. That back up camera gives me just enough visual to feel comfortable, backing it into an area with trees and rocks. If you use the back up, camera only is a visual and not as a back up aid I find it works best. Meaning use the mirrors for backing up and use the camera for locating potential hazards. To this, I will also add having back up Lights is also a must have for our family as well. Well, maybe not a must have because I rarely use them, but when I had a trailer with them, it was really nice
@@PlayingwithSticks Your side mirrors are great if you’re backing straight in where you can see both sides of the camper but if you have to back in at an angle you lose your view on one side so the backup camera really becomes necessary and not just as bonus aid.
That’s a good point I never thought of that. My view on these has always been, even if it gives you a different angle of view it can be a bit disorienting. Meaning I try to use only the mirrors and if I have to use the camera it’s when I’m in the parked position. I find this much safer.
That's what the side mirrors on the vehicle are for.
@@1946luke can you see both sides of the camper in side mirrors if you’re backing in at an angle? No. You lose the view on one side. Not all campsites are easy to back into without another person to watch on the blind side.

I’ve wanted something like this for a very long time and almost bought a remodeled vintage trailer about 8 years ago, but was a bit scared of the quality of the rebuild and didn’t want to buy something I might have to “fix” once it was mine. We all want value for our money and this beautiful camper is so spacious for it’s size, sleeping accommodations are remarkable, having a quality shower, no black tank to deal with, and the storage!!!! By the way I counted 18 drawers and doors of storage inside. I didn’t include the outside storage which I know you can access from inside, as well! Man that’s some great storage in such a small camper & I love it! Thanks for the video, PLEASE keep making these kind of videos!!!! I’d watch them all day!! Great job!!🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩

I have been talking with my wife May for about a year regarding this trailer. I kept telling her we have to show this to everyone. It was one of those trailers that kind of went under the radar. And then I always get a little worried when I go to see these special trailers. I get worried that when I get there, they just won’t be what I was hoping for. And this one did not disappoint! I’m really glad to hear you are enjoying these videos. They are really fun to make as well. Basically this gives me the chance to go on a never ending hunt for my dream trailer. And it’s fun because along the way, we get to help other people find their dream trailer.

I love the hammock! The window cover solution looks like it is easy to maintain and is local made, liking that. I can believe that the supply train drove up the price and the increase is not going into their pocket. It is expensive to keep staff ( wages, benefits, taxes etc.) and if you are building a quality item you need trained people who enjoy coming to work so they will care about what they produce. You want cheap you are going to get garbage, factory slap together. This looks like a one time purchase that you enjoy until you can't camp any more.

When they first released this trailer, just Brian and his son mainly were building them. And it was also before all the supply chain issues. In the last couple years as you know, these wood prices have gotten out of control and that goes with many other components to this build as well. It would’ve been fun to show a $28,000 trailer to the community, but those times have passed.

If I were to order one of these, I would go for the LAVEO dry flush toilet. No need for a stink pipe to make another hole in the roof. All that's needed is a 12volt source to actuate the motor to spin off the bowl contents for the next use. I have one in my class B van and Love it!!!
They did a great job with this trailer. As a vintage trailer owner (actually I've had a few) I fully appreciate the attention to details that they took to create a vintage vibe with more modern amenities. They've done a great job emulating the vintage layouts and exterior styling. I also really like the fact that they didn't cheap out with the materials like some of the larger production trailer companies do with their Retro or Vintage styled trailers. This trailer stands way above them in quality and styling. Nicer interior materials and finishes and very nice exterior skins and styling (although I prefer the jalousie windows on the side over the flat pane sliders). Price wise compared to what you'd pay for one of those other larger production brands, while it is a little bit high I don't think the Sellwood is too far off the mark on pricing giving materials costs etc. right now. You get what you pay for and it's obvious that these guys take pride in the quality of the product that they put out. Hopefully they'll be able to keep to that standard as they go forward. We’ve definitely considered it! I keep pushing for a 16’ that combines the amenities of both…a spacious kitchen and a bathroom. Once we have the Sellwood 13’ dialed in, I’m hoping that will be the next trailer we prototype out! Are there any other features you think would be useful to add in a bigger version?
Have you redone your vintage campers? I got a camper similar to this from the 70s and I’m redoing but I’m running into issues because it’s a learning experience and I don’t have anyone to ask my questions to 😂 it has a bathroom and I want to waterproof it as good as I can so I could shower in it. However I’m a bit scared to just take on fiberglassing but that seems like the only option. The bathroom is small enough I can’t find a pan or anything that’d fit
Best one I've seen in about 15 years of looking at campers and trailers. For my taste it's perfect.
These things are 40 grand. Who's buying "teardrop trailers that half its size" for 40 thousand? All the ones I've seen are 7-20 grand.
This thing is at most 10k, I've seen 5th wheelers being sold USED for 8-9k (of course with issues) but that's marginally a better deal than this thing.
There are many, many campers like NuCamp and little guy tear drop for $40k.

I really like the look and design of these trailers. Just messed around a little on the website and you can really customize these things to fit your needs. The vintage look that they went for is a lot better looking than some of the other manufacturers that try to make a vintage looking camper in my opinion.

I would just like to say, when I was a kid my family had a 1966 model year 16 foot Prairie Schooner travel trailer. It also had a hammock style bunk bed that my father had made from two galvanized plumbing pipes with a board on either wall. He went to a local business that made canvas boat covers to custom make a sling for the bunk part. This was my bed when we went camping. I sincerely thank you for the memories.

You did a great job with interior design, light colors to increase the perceived size of the trailer. A lot of manufacturers ruin their product by choosing overly dark or bright colors, which make the interior seem much smaller, cluttered, even claustrophobic. Good job on this.

My vintage Winchester has the exact same layout as the non-bathroom Sellwood. If I could find someone to renovate for me it would almost be the perfect trailer. I do wish I had a bathroom and so this is going on my list. Thank you Drew!
I forgot to mention that the previous owner of my camper added that drop down bunk to it for his kids. I never use it and would love to make it more accessible for storage with the doors!

I am impressed with a few things on these trailers. First, never seen a sofa so easily converted into a bed,usually it’s multiple steps. Secondly the innovative design of sleeping space. Whose seen a hammock in any camper before? And the fold down cabinets that can be converted into a bed? That’s out of the box thinking. Third, the space. It was mentioned but it is so important to be able to move around. What if you are trapped indoors on a rainy day? Lastly, design. No one else I’ve seen builds with a retro look. They are all very cookie cutter designs and don’t look classy like these do. Only additions I’d like to see would be a back up camera for safety and an option to put solar on the roof for a continuous off grid power supply.

This is so much like the 1971 Volunteer trailer we had when I was growing up. Our 13 footer had a bathroom/shower and a closet along with a stove/oven. Back couch/bed and front dinette/bed. Ours also had front and back pull down bunks. I'm not sure about that back hammock. I love this and have been looking for something just like this. I was sold until I saw the price.
Wait a few years and it'll be reasonable.
Our family redid a Shasta many years ago. It was the best, they certainly dont make em like that anymore... until now! Loving the vibe, job well done!

Its tough. Because if you underbuild a trailer then it functions poorly. But if you overbuild a trailer than it costs too much. I am more interested in trailers built to last if taken care of, but not overbuilt.

This looks nearly identical to our old ‘74 Field and Stream, same layout as #2 and even same exterior colors. It’s at least 10 inches wider, though, and the extra width makes a huge difference.
Honestly the price isn’t that bad, and you’ll have a far better experience with a new camper with modern materials and systems than most vintage campers.
How neat is that. We looked at a smaller version of the Field and Stream. I believe it was a 13' layout maybe even smaller. We ended up going with a Shasta Compact because someone beat us to the Field and Stream. And yes, good point on the price. It really isn't that bad. I was just dissapointed that we all just missed the $28K price tag. And you are absolutely right. This trailer is built to last generations, where the others are built for limited use.
This is just like my 1967 Avalon. I would rather have this than the new micro Winnie I just got. I always loved my old one. The frame finally went. Tough travels

Agreed. The weight would be my biggest concern. But if I already owned a tow vehicle that was equipped for something like this I think it would be a no brainer. I love how small it is, but still packs a big punch in terms of amenities and space utilization. And as for prices today. It is so tough finding a good trailer at what I would consider an affordable price for the masses. We are in this weird time where everyone is overbuilding trailers. I am calling it the "small camper trailer space race" It is neat becuase the competition is creating greater trailers. But they are beginning to outprice many of our pocketbooks.
So many reminders of the Serro Scotty! My parents had a 15 ' Gaucho model and had the hammock bed (which I only used once ... the dinette was more comfortable.) Many years later I got one of the rare 18' Trunkback models, and it had the same kind of upper closet/fold-down bed conversion, except it was over the rear bed. Nice to see the concepts in use again!
Beautiful camper.
We have been looking for sleeping options for kids that didn't have to share without going to be longer in length in a camper. This one is perfect, but the cost is a bit much for what we want to spend for camping. The older campers from the 50s and 60s had these sleeping options.

I like it. Love little compact, functional trailers. The vintage design is cool. Man, I would love to have a little camper like this just for me. We have a big-ass Grand Design and the family are basically glampers. I'm a purist and geologist by trade so a little pull behind for just me would be great.

I don't need a bathroom but that kitchen one looks fantastic. The difference with this one and the Retro style campers is the squareness. It allows for such a large amount of upper cabinet space. And upper bed space. The hammock is a fantastic idea. Especially for a family. And it has four jacks! So many trailers only come with the two in the rear. I would have to go for the torsion axles only because I know how rough leaf spring axles can ride. Which add a lot of shaking to the components. I'm not one to talk about price, but, you get what you pay for it looks like this is up there with a quality product. Question, does the front door hit the struts of the awning? It looked close and I thought I heard a sound.
Oh an my trailer is now $20k more in just 3 yrs.

You nailed it. As your can tell Brian actually camps. And the trailer reflects that. As for the price you are also right. When you overbuild something it costs more plain and simple. I wish you all could have physically walked through it with me. That was the most solid "larger" small camper I have ever been in. I also wish I had a video of the framing. I couldn't believe how robust it was. Good pointn on the axles. Current setup it is more of a campground trailer thyat you drive to your boondocking sites carefully. This is how we used our Shasta Compact. We took it to most of our camping sites. But we drove much slower, had the assistant out of the vehicle over ever large bump and gap, and generally babied it more. Someone else mentioned the front door hitting the struts of the awning. I wonder if Brian has come up with a workaround since I shot this.
It is a tough market right now! Evevn some of my favorite trailers that I would have bought a couple of years ago, now make me uncomfortable with their new prices.

Luckily, though there are vintage trailer layouts, that are the same, a little narrower, and a little shorter. But all in all very similar.

When I was a kid in the late 60's and early 70's, we had a little travel trailer that was just about identical to this one. It was made by Forester in Forest City, Iowa. It would sleep 5 and I got to sleep in the top bunk bed. I did actually fall out of it one night. We went all over the country during summer vacations and had a great time!

In terms of forest roads, I would work with Brian to get the best set up. In the current set up, it would work, but you’d have to take it nice and slow and monitor it just like we do with the Shasta Compact. I think Brian can give you a little more clearance, you wouldn’t need much more. For example, I find the standard scamp clearance can get us almost anywhere. In terms of snow that’s a tough one. Basically, I find most trailers kind of perform the same. Clearance isn’t that big of a deal because the wheels are not attached to any sort of powered mechanism. So basically, even if you hit a little snow berm, they can be dragged through. What it comes down to is stopping distance and power of the vehicle to get the tow vehicle through the snow. So basically, you want something with a pretty good towing capacity for a trailer like this if you’re going to use it in unpredictable snow circumstances.
I’m in love with the hammock beds and the quality/color of woodwork is beautiful. Did I miss any speakers or sound system (I was eating when watching so might have missed it.) Love the right angles for space and vintage feel. Honestly really tired of everything looking alike these days with their round auto dynamics.
Yes, it has a Bluetooth stereo with a DVD player. I can’t remember where the speakers were placed

In 1976, I drove the real used vantage trailer a 14’ X 6-8’ forget the name of the company counting the tong it was 17’ long . My wife two young children and my mother-in-law . We did all the spots Grand Canyon. South and North Dakota , Mt. Rushmore, Badlands, Las Vegas, Hoover Dam, Estes Park were there was a Big flood that killed over 100 campers two days after we had left the camp ground, GRAND Tetons, Lake Tahoe, Big Sur , Santa Barbara , LA, San FRANCISCO, Alamo, Carlsbad caverns , Baton Rouge, Birmingham AL., Virginia and West Virginia, The Freedom Bell in Pa. and many many more places I have not listed. The trip was 6 weeks long and I drove 10,000 mile and I Loved ever minute ever the good, the bad and the ugly like my car braking down in North Dakota where I found some really good people that helped us a lot . SO GOD BLESSED AMERICA WITH SO MUCH BEAUTY AND IF YOU CAN GO SEE IT ALL ! Oh yes not to many years ago my wife and I went to see Yellow Stone Park which we had to pass up in 1976 because it would have added 2 thousand more miles to our trip. So in closing GOD BLESS AMERICA!

It is nice to see that trailer manufacturers have finally figured out that trailers aren't subject to the same safety requirements which make modern cars all so ugly and boring. We can have studiously retro trailers!
And yes the mitered corner windows truly do sell it! They are key to that mid-century look. Those hard angles instantly set this trailer apart from something like a RetroLiner. Good job!

This reminds me of the 1957 Shasta Travel Trailer my late husband and I had in the late '70's.
I'd be concerned about tempered glass in the front window. Although uncommon, tempered glass can have catastrophic sudden destruction from nickel sulfide inclusion defects. Laminated glass (Vistabule) or polycarbonate ( Escapod) eliminate this issue. Looks like this window is flat and likely could be replaced locally. That would be a big benefit if the glass did need repair.
Thanks for chiming in here. That is way out of my wheelhouse. I was noticing on Brian's camper that he had a rock guard on the front window. But I didn't notice one on the bathroom layout. I am kind of confused. I can't remember seeing one when we towed it out there. I slept in Brian's trailer so I feel like I know it well, but the other layout I am not as familiar with.
Our old Shasta trailor had the hammock bunk in the back.... I loved that Shasta!!

Yes! I think a lot of people are going to appreciate this trailer because many small camper trailers make it almost impossible for taller people to use them comfortably

I wanted to make sure people understood where this trailer stands in the market in terms of quality. We have a friend who is an insurance claims adjuster, and she has data on all the most popular trailers in the country. It’s been really neat to take a look and see which trailers outperform each other. Now unfortunately they don’t have good data on these smaller trailers. One of the ones that surprised me was the quality difference of the argosy versus the airstream. What I found funny was that even though the argosy was made by airstream and was put out to be their budget model, it actually outperforms the airstream in terms of what the data says. Now don’t get me wrong. I still love airstream trailers. I just want people to know just because of the price point and the way it looks it doesn’t mean it’s necessarily better than other trailers on the market.
I was wondering when you would get around to one of these brand new canned hams. I'm not into all the ammentities myself but that's just me. I knew the price was going to be up there with all that this trailer came with. I like the second one without the bathroom much better. Again that's just me. The workmanship is just great. Love the attention to detail. So if you're going to spend $30 or $40k on a trailer. These are the ones to do it with. Guess I'm going to have to start charging more LOL..
I think this is the only new canned ham we will ever see on here. I feel the others are just "RV"s with a cute canned ham exterior glued to the outside. Haha. So far this is the only "real" modern retro trailer I have come across. If anyone is reading this post and you want to learn how to restore a trailer, check out Mobiltec's site. Wow! Dometic is still in business! In 1967, I remember stopping in Indiana(?) to replace the broken refrigerator in our trailer. I think we went to the factory. We were enroute to CA on our cross country trip from NY.
The only thing I don’t like or understand. What have the bathroom next to where you eat, and fridge in the back where you sleep. It should be switched.
Just guessing here. I'll bet the location of the bathroom has to do with weight distribution and balance.

Nice trailer! I personally really appreciate small trailers with bathrooms so this is a great find, especially since it's a bit bigger than a lot of them. Also btw you didn't blur the license plate at 2:26. Just wanted to let you know since you seemed to be making an effort to blur it in all the other shots.
Darn. Thank you for catching that. I had so many issues trying to get it out of the shot. I will try again using the UA-cam editor. And yes, I agree. Making it slightly bigger made a ton of difference. This felt more like a tiny home or a large trailer than a small trailer. Even though the footprint at 13' is quite small.
I'm really glad that a lot of people is getting on this band wagon with van life, rv life its a great alternative for buying a house, you don't have to buy a house I think it's great for young people too, to just live life by saving money and traveling
Where do you work, then? And many states won't let you buy land and live in it.
I like the trailer and the vintage look. The kitchen floor plan would be the one for me. I agree, the price is a pretty big pill to swallow and if you are willing to spend the money for this, there are a bunch of other choices. I know the builder needs to make a profit; however, the initial offering price made this very competitive.
P.S. I noticed what looked like one of those rolling grey/black tanks under the bed of the kitchen model. Wonder what that was about?
Agreed. I would be kitchen floor plan as well. And as for the gray water tank. I was wondering the same thing. I even slept in that model. I don't think my gray water was just running out the bottom? But maybe I was supposed to hook that tank up. I just assumed there was a gray water tank in there. Many vintage trailers have water holding tanks, but no gray tanks.

From the outside it looks like an old Shasta camper that we used back in the day…when we were hunting. It was high and dry. Certainly better than a tent. It had an easy to install awning with screen to keep out unwanted pests.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts here. Brian talked about the lift. Like you, this is something potential owners have already been asking for. I am also kicking myself for not askng the shower height. I would be really interested to know how tall it is. Good point on the aluminum. I think that would really help with the weight of this trailer. Because it is built so well (overbuilt) each section of the trailer really adds up in terms of weight.

@@PlayingwithSticks cool also with that price u'd want it to last a life time that's another reason 4 the aluminum skeleton frame also in the future maybe aluminum trlr frames too not just the skeleton frames cus with the price that is one would definitely want it to last beyond a life time cus that's a lot of money to invest in something that may rot and the longevity of the cmpr trlr is a must in my opinion however the lift kit and 15 inch whls and tires is 4 the suvs and trucks that pull it cus most of the time u want the trlr level and not dragging the rear bumper through dips and such in roads not to mention some may want to boondock with the trlr no not extreme off roading just off the normal path so to speak if they so choose to also make ac and heat standard cus with the price one would think it's standard cool truly like this cmpr trlr and the fact that it's tall enough 4 all ppl tall and short a like it's great not to many manufacturers allow 4 the taller ppl to enjoy the rv life as much as not hitting their heads on things that is such cool cmpr trlr they did great with this one also many blessings keep walking tall

Esp. like the quick sofa to bed set up. Cool hammock!! Bathroom is an appreciated and important feature if you’re trying to decide. It makes all the diff in personal comfort at night and just after a long day to take a hot shower and get in a cozy bed w/o going to the campground facility.
I really appreciate your review and comments. I find my frustration less about the cost of a well crafted trailer and more about the cost of the tow vehicle. I’d love a scamp et al but my husband and I are too tall for any of the lightweight fiberglass trailer. This Aero had my attention at 80”. I can dream. I’ll have to stick with tents until we hit the lottery. Thanks for the wide selection of reviews and craftsmen.
I should clarify that. I don't have an issue with the price. Meaning, I think it costs a lot to build this trailer in terms of labor and materials. I just wish it wasn't so overbuilt that there was an affordable option. Or better yet, I wish this same option was available at that $28K price that was listed earlier this year. But again, I get it. And I completely agree with you. That tow vehicle really becomes the limiting factor for many of us. And yes, I haven't seen a lightweight trailer out there yet that supports tall people. Have you seen the stand up teardrop trailer Charles is building for us? At it's highest point it should be about 6'5" or 6'7". It will come in at less than 1,000lbs. I wonder if there is a market for a similar trailer, but with a kitchen and bath. Basically a standup trailer with good height and low weight.
@@PlayingwithSticks Yes, I have been following that teardrop and am very curious what you two devise! I'll admit that I love love love my Subaru Forester b/c we're tall people, and it's affordable for us. But my particular forester can't tow anything over 1500lbs, so a 1,000 lb standup teardrop would be a very tempting choice. I think it's also an issue not just about stand up height, but the length of the beds - normally they stop at 72" - 74" and that's not going to cut it. I am on-the-fence about bathrooms so any plan that can have or not have a bath are Ok with me. Good beds, storage & good views are all I care about. The less stuff to fuss with, the better. The very light colored wood really makes it comfortable looking and larger. I would drop the "hammock" all together. Like all of the windows and really appreciate a window over the sink. I want light! If not so equipped, add a few more dimmable ceiling lights. Nice trailer. I'm single so this is a good size for me.

Glad to see trailers going with the Truma water heaters. They work flawlessly compared to the old one that cycled hot cold hot cold and were garbage. I added one to my trailer after we bought it. Dumped the old POS heater.
Reminds me of the 67 Jet we used as our first camper. We bought it for 500.00 from an elderly couple who were done using it. Our kids got to experience a bit of camping, ours didn't have a shower/toilet space. But we got our moneys worth out of it. Lots of fun memories. 😀

Beautiful trailer. Great storage and love the ingenuity in providing more sleeping areas. My only change in the bathroom model would be to have no cooktop and design with cutting board to fit over sink. Price is quite high, too.
I bought a used older camper and I love it. It's not a big rv but it will work for us and not really expense. It's all in what you can do or want to do too. But, I feel I couldn't afford a camper like this.
I spent the first year of my life (1943-4) in a 16' long canned ham trailer built in the 1930s. After the war, it was used for camping trips before it was sold. I was interested to notice how similar the layout in that trailer was to the way this one is arranged. Of course our old trailer had no bathroom or water storage tanks, but the two seating/sleeping areas at the front and back and the position of the kitchen area is the same. Our trailer had a convenient feature this one doesn't have. The doors to closets on either side could be opened and fastened together to form a small private area at the back of the trailer. Especially considering the lack of a bathroom, this was very handy!
I'm usually a bigger camper guy. But this little camper is AWESOME.

This looks almost exactly like the old 1966 Westwind 16 footer that I refurbished!
My X wife named it Route 66 and we went with a 50's-60's diner. Black and white vinyl tile floor we had curtains custom made that had classic cars on them and matching blue cushions.
Your camper sounds perfect. I think the 16 footers are just the right size. And that vintage charm in the interior must have felt great!
I have a 2016 T@B and a 1950s canned ham. This canned ham definitely gives the nostalgic vibes without the OMG this thing is a money pit feeling.

The layout of the non bathroom model is similar to the 16 ft Shasta my family of 6 traveled in during the 1950's and 60's. We had no electric power at all. The water was handpump, it had an icebox, and 2 built in gas lights with the old silk mesh lamps. There was huge pass through storage under the rear bed. 2 littlest kids shared the rear canvas bunk with heads at opposite ends.
