It's too small for what I'm looking for but I'm utterly and completely in love with the vintage "nod" to this trailer...the chrome, 50s style lettering, the chrome strips and the "nod" to the "baby moon" rims. Someone had a secret love for yesterday :) I usually hate these little "egg shell" campers and I hate post-1980 campers. I could go for this if it at least had a port-a-potty and an outside shower. Love the subtle vintage though...
Love this tour. We've owned our HC1 Happier Camper for nearly two years now and we love it to bits! The owners gather often (held off at COVID) and it's great to see how each camper is made up just a little differently by the owners. You covered the HC1 details well!
@@NewJerseyOutdoorAdventures You are very welcome :-) I love how you can dive into the tech details. It's really helpful for everyone, I think. There are so many details on this HC1 that ours doesn't have. Super cool :-)
Looks like an antique Frigidaire freezer. I mean that in a good way, I love it! I love those extra 2-in hitch attachments. Pretty cool! Thanks for sharing.
We’ve been looking at this camper ever since they were a fledgling company in California. The sheer versatility of the modular concept is beyond intriguing. You don’t see it here, but you can totally move all those cubes outside to make furniture to crash on while at the campsite. Plus, how light it is seals the deal for us. Our “no tow package” Ford Explorer can haul this thing, easy peasy. We’re planning on ordering one with our tax return next year! 😁
We considered this for a hot second - then realized how inconvenient the “conveniences” actually are for people who camp. My daughter and son-in-law love this camper but the price without standard necessities is tough to overcome. If you camp often, it’s easy to rule out bringing furniture in and out of the camper. It looks great in the romanticized videos, but most of what sits outside my teardrop smells of campfire smoke and can get pretty dusty...and when night falls- things get damp fast. I would not want to sleep on something that had been outside my tent or teardrop all day. Also, if you’re hiking, kayaking or just enjoying the day away from your campsite, you’d have to bring it all in each time. Living in the Northeast, popup showers happen. Lots to really think about.
These are so neat. Definite wave of the future possibilities here. Really great job on the tour! Thank you! Would have liked to have seen composting toilet & shower options, As well as refrigeration ideas, maybe more vertical storage options. Still amazingly neat as is!
Our very first weekend caravan when I was a kid in the 60s must have been this size. All 4 of us slept in it every weekend in the summer for the first year until my parents upgraded to a caravan that had a kitchen area and a lovely wood burning stove. Happy memories!
I bought the camper new in 2019. There are many options that you can add on, including a toilet, kitchen, and road shower. I did not bring all my accessories this trip. The base price is less than quoted. You can make it what you want depending on your needs. :) The 2020 has many new offerings and the new HCT has a full, wet bathroom.
@@bk-fr5rs ok then, so I will make it depending on my own needs, and let see how it goes :) Congratulations, it seems a very tiny and cozy camper... très sympathique
A rear hatch was about the only thing we liked about the Airstream Basecamp, because it allowed loading of long items like the CLAM shelter, which these folks have. A big plus: the option to have two single beds! All the hitch receivers, plus the heavy duty frame, adds almost as much flexibility as the modular inside design, as creative people will go wild implementing their ideas. Looks like fun on all levels!
If they become competitively priced with Casita they'll probably develop more of a following and community. At more than $30k it's way overpriced IMHO. For that money it should include a gigantic lithium battery bank and massive solar capable of off grid ac, lights, fridge, and hot water standard. It is nice though. @@calgal5752, ya, it is pricey but they are extremely well made. The base price for a 16' Airstream Basecamp is $38,400. The base weight on the Basecamp is 2,650 compared to the HC1 at 1,100. Very interesting. Thank you for sharing this small towable. I agree about pricing. Very little standard features for the price. If the company can continue the quality and upgrade to include amenities like a freshwater holding tank and solar power system, they would really get my attention.
Single axle trailer once it's just too bouncy the size is okay it just said it needs to have two axles to keep it Seated on the road better. Also every RV needs a built in toilet and shower no matter what the size is. The components inside remind me of some of the small yachts and boats in the harbor they have a lot of convertible uses also. I find the little trailer kind of refreshing, it's just light enough for a small car, and I think it's idea for one or two people. I don't know if I'd want to live in there full time, but sure we can do sand small trips I think it's more than adequate if it just was more self-contained. I also think it needs an awning which has sides on it so you can have an expanded screened-in room on the outside in the back to be outside more in the spring summer and fall months. Small units like this where great when you have expandable outside temporary rooms it gives you some area To get outside and work around specially if you're a tall person or person in a wheelchair or handicapped or a senior. Being handicapped in a small trailer this is a little too confining. Thank you for sharing it was very educational and I'm going to look for these on the road.
Hi! There is a toilet cube, road shower, and kitchen option. The beauty of the HC1 is that you can take out pieces you don’t need based on the trip/needs. There is also a back screened extension that works off the back hatch. So many possibilities! Check out their website. :)

Great video great narration great camera work!!! Awesome video of the trailer.
It's like they took every inconvenience and put them all together to create this thing. I just don't get the appeal
Thank you for checking it out
Ah, but it has nice electrical outlets.
Cosa e scrjtto cosa a detto nn e ledr panini??
Exactly. I guess if u have to pee in the night you just grab a glass. Overpriced.
Agree! The puzzle thing and the no restroom is a turn off for me.
The Happier Camper is as cute as a bug under a rug. ❤
Glad you enjoyed it
Very interesting. Thank you for sharing this small towable. I agree about pricing. Very little standard features for the price. If the company can continue the quality and upgrade to include amenities like a freshwater holding tank and solar power system, they would really get my attention.
Hi, Amy! The HC1 has a solar panel option and the kitchen unit comes with a freshwater holding tank. Check out their website; it’s so cool! 😎
The table is set ..nice!
It's like having a hard sided tent. way too expensive
Thank you for checking this out
Single axle trailer once it's just too bouncy the size is okay it just said it needs to have two axles to keep it Seated on the road better.

Did you take it from California to Maine?
Love fiberglass but have become very expensive. Aside...your baritone voice have you done any voice over or audio books...you should you are a great voice presenter. Stay safe.
