Just built my first PC last week. Went for a 7800xt with a 7800x3d, also. Extremely happy with it so far. Playing Starfield with everything maxed at 1440p and it runs like a dream.
Im building my pc this weekend, i got the 7800x3d and was going to pair with 7800xt or the 7900gre but ended up buying a 4080 super, a little nervous about building but thanks to pc centric i have a guide 😁
I have the Gigabyte 7800xt, play at 1440p and have 0 complaints. 16 GB VRAM, power efficient, and this thing stays nice and cool under load. For 500$, you can't beat it. Sure FSR may not be as good as DLSS, and Ray Tracing is iffy, but I'd take that extra VRAM, especially looking forward over the next few years.
If you play at 1440p, 12gb doesn't really matter. Just sayin. That's a 4k problem. Edit: I had the choice and went with a 4070super. Raw perf, the 7900 is better. But dlss in single player games, and bam you rip the 7900 to shreds. Multiplayer games are reduced in spec so everyone can play them anyway. No real upside.
Also, the 7900 is 700, and at that point, might as well consider the ti super....and then, you might as well get the 4080 super. The 4070 super is the king in its price range for a reason. And if you were going for 4k, youd buy the 4080. The argument you (and lots of computer junkies, not just you) present doesn't actually make sense. Gamers, on average, buy a computer, then upgrade in 5 years anyway. The whole "futureproofing," thing is silly. If you "futureproofed," last gen and spent 12-1500 (or more) and got the 3090, a 600 dollar card does the same thing next generation. 🤷♂️ Buy for now. Cross the next bridge when you get there, instead of worrying about its construction before you've even seen it.
Actually, there is an exception. And it's at the very low end. If you can only afford a low tier proc, it might be worth looking into your upgrade in say, the next 6 months or a year. You can buy, then sell when you upgrade. And you won't lose much on the low end. In that case, if you like amd and can swing it, get the best chip that supports your gpu while taking socket in mind. But honestly, this is and extremely small portion of the population as people building budget pcs are probably looking at used components anyway, which...is probably gonna yeild better results.
I'm currently building a PC, and I'm struggling to pick parts. This really helped. On a side note, the two GPUs on the left wobbling every time he touched the table gave me so much anxiety.
Recently finished my new gaming rig, and paired a 7800 XT with 7800X3D. Zero regrets with that card, it's absolutely perfect for the games I play (Baldurs Gate 3, WoW, Overwatch for example) and am able to play everything maxed out. No regrets with that card whatsoever-great value
WoW is pretty demanding in raid size groups even at low settings. My 6700k, gtx 980 ti starting to struggle with WoW - useful to know amd works with wow and with max. Speccing a new pc now and was wondering about amd.
@@danielbarnett5764 You have two options with amd, really, either get an AM4 mother board, DDR4 Ram and get the 5800x3D processor. Or just go full AM5 with DDR5 ram and get the 7800x3d. Both processors dominate in gaming due to the size of the cache. If you are more on a budget go for the AM4, AM5 if you don't mind spending extra. Now, the real weight will be that 980ti. Perhaps time to upgrade? 6700xt is dynamite for 1080p/1440p gaming. Also! Get a thermal peerless assassin 120 SE cpu cooler, 30 dollars and one of the best air coolers you can get.
@@Mr.Swolo90Honestly, the entire rig feels buttery smooth now. In my previous set up I used to get a lot of FPS dips/micro stuttering for example (especially in crowded major cities in Dragonflight in WoW). But now, I've not had one stutter in any of my games, and raiding in WoW feels great for the first time in god knows how long lol. It's just a great setup for 1440p with a touch of 4K thrown in for good measure. More than happy, and like the above poster said I'm pretty set for the next few years with no real need for an upgrade
Just to let you know I purchased all the parts for my first pc. I built it, and because of you the system works amazing! Yes I went just about all out. 4090, 7950, Corsair coolers and fans!!! Been playing halo, call of duty at max settings getting 174-185 FPS!
I'm doing unholy amounts of research over the best pc components available after saving for years for my first computer build knowing full well I will only play pixel indie rpgs on it.
I went from RX 6700 10GB to the 4070 Super and i can tell you the performance jump is more than double. Not to mention that DLSS is significantly superior to FSR.
As it should lol. Newer, more vram, & more expensive. The 4070 super was really the only Solid card besides the 4090 for this generation of NVID. I’m a Nvidia Fan boy & AMD is shitting all over them with almost every card for price to performance. I used to hate Amd but they stepped their shit up the past 3 years.
Bought 4080 Super Founders, it's still held in customs, I suppose that the people working there are just freaked like: "What in a hell is this thing?!" 🤣
I'm perfectly happy with my 7900xtx. I really only play amd titles. Just couldn't justify the need for a 4090. I get great quality and huge frames. I really think it's the best bang for the buck on a higher end GPU honestly.
I recently got a 4070 super founders edition, and that is the best bang for your “overpriced” buck. It really is an awesome little gpu and works great at 1440p with all settings at the highest including raytracing, and even does okay at 4k with some games as well with the help of dlss and frame gen of course.
I had been using a 9th gen cpu, paired with a 1660ti for YEARS. Recently came across a great deal on a i7-13700k and a 4060. I know the 4060 gets some hate, but man if you're upgrading from some of those older gen GPUs, it's a great little card
@@MrAnimescrazy it really is. An it was quite affordable too. Obviously the dlss and rtx stuff is great, but it has surprising performance even without it. Draws little power, puts off little heat. I'm actually really impressed considering the sentiment online is that the 4060 and 4060ti are trash. Again, if you're going from the older GPUs, a 4060 is amazing. And it's such a small card too! Can fit in presumably almost any decent case
moved from AMD 6900XT to Nvidia 4070 TI Super and wow what an amazing experience. FPS huge improvement. I say that as an AMD fan. Will likely get a 4080 Super for other PC now.
@@flipperzero9662 There's a comment below where someone said they upgraded from a last gen Nvidia card to a current AMD card and how great their experience is but you won't comment the same thing because the brands are reversed 🤷 the fact you cherry picked this guys comment says it all 😂
Raytracing is a must have if you're developing game assets like me. Software like Marmoset do not not allow you to bake game maps without Raytracing. Also if you are making some real-time 3D render animations, instead of waiting hours to get a frame, you'll go well with Raytracing 1000x faster.
Just received my gigabyte 4080 super gaming OC which is huge and magnificent. Im starting to build tomorrow, full setup is : -AMD 7800x3D (409€)/ -Monitor DELL G2724 (255€)/ -PSU MSI A750GF (100€)/ Tower PC Corsair 4000D (100€/ -SSD Samsung 980 Pro 1To (100€)/ -Corsair Vengeance DDR 5 32GB 6000MT/s (130€)/ -MSI Mag B650 Tomahawk WiFi (228€)/ -Thermalight phantom spirit 120SE (40€) -4080 Super Gaming OC (1186€)
Last year I went all out with my first all white high end build with the gigabyte aero oc 4090/ 7800x3d/ 64 gigs of ddr5 ram in the white phanteks nv7 case. The pc is a beast and I clean it once a month. I play at native 2k or native 4k on high settings with or without ray tracing depending on the game. I play on my lg c1 65 inch 4k oled tv so the frames are limited to 120 but this is good enough for me.
@@metalface_villainthat’s easily over 4K. I have a similar set up. Rtx 4090 strix oc 7800x3d 7200 cl34 1.4v oc’d to 7400 same primary & secondary timings. @@metalface_villain yea bro to build the best rig cost a lot /: My overall build cost minus the keyboard & mouse was around 4.1k only because I got the cpu & gpu for less money then what it’s actually going for. Retail on the gpu is around 2.3k or more but I got it for 1.7 with receipt, unused warranty, & the 12vhpwr cable. The ring would have been nice to have but I Don’t really care for it lol. my cpu retails for around 430 but I got it for 370 The ram rn is 240 but I payed 140. And for the monitor it retails for 300 but I got it for 110 😭 ( used but still new )
@metalface_villain the total was almost or over 5,000 dollars the TV was on sale at best buy but I forgot exactly how much. I think the tv was 1,500 to 1,700. The pc build was 3,250 with taxes and shipping. I bought all of the parts from Amazon last year.
Bro', You're a riot. You keep so lighthearted and silly that you are a pleasure to watch while delivering the info we're looking for. Why not add some humour and not be so dry. I own the Red Devil Limited Edition RX 7800 XT and I love this card, it's just amazing for the money. Great job and keep it comin'✌😎
idk these rumours about the 50 series are sounding pretty juicy, hopefully theres actually some truth to them so waiting to upgrade will definitley be worth it
That is a very weird upgrade. In some cases it’s more of a downgrade aside from rasterization performance. 3090ti has superior raytracing and DLSS is better than FSR.
@ZackSNetwork not really...that's the short version....long version....have 2 pcs....13700k/4080 for ray tracing titles. 12900/7900xtx for fast paced games. 3090 ti was aio cooled card bought from Amazon 2 years ago (will never buy aio card again). Sold it for 600 bucks and bought 7900xtx used Amazon with 3 year warranty for 770 bucks, way better deal and faster as well without raytracing...and now AMD has fsr3 as well...I'm good.
@MrSoloTron my 3090 ti was a liquid cool version...already had used it for 2 years...and aios don't last that long and you can't change it out or refill it. If it had been an air cooled card...I'd kept it for sure. So looked around..and the 7900xtx is basically an upgraded 3090 ti. Same power draw....more fps...but same raytracing more or less. So sold the 3090 ti for 700...then bought a 7900xtx from Amazon for about 800...so only came out of pocket 100 bucks for the trade and got a card that can last 20 years because of fans. Lol
I still remember ATI RADEON HD 2900 XT ,WOW THAT WAS A HELL OF A GRAPHIC CARD ,IT COUOD RUN CRYSIS ON FULL HD LIKE EATING POPCORN WOW BEAUTIFUL old days ,OLD IS GOLD
So I used (I still 'like' videos that pop up for the algorithms) to watch hours of your content when looking for my new PC specs. I return to you again due to my graphics card committing die. Thanks again for your quick whit and expert assistance in this matter 😁
I overspent on a 4070ti when they came out but its a solid performer at 1440p and has given me over a year of max settings with RT with more to come. Happy but would have preferred around £600 not £800!
I always think about it like this. Could I habe waited and bought something similar, but at a better price? Sure. (The answer is always sure) Say, a 4070 super, then ocing it. But, you wouldn't have had a gpu for a year. Also, the ti is better than the super (though, not worth the price difference, new, right now.) But, if the ti was say, 675-700, it would be right in line with price/performance. The difference is what? 50-150 bucks at most? So, if you rented that card...just to be able to play for a year...would you pay the difference? Lets say, worst case, it lost 150 buvks in value. Thats like...11 bucks per month. Would you pay 11 bucks a month to play games with awesome graphics while waiting on your upgrade? Youd probably pay more. Say 20 or 25 a month. If so, good purchase. End of story. 😂
Great great video as always man, very clear guidance is appreciated and positive attitude is very helpful too. There are a lot of reviews type channels out there who are just grumble grumble.
@OmarChouikha sorry I didn't get to this sooner. It's pretty good if you ask me. The reason why is because you get a fair bit of versatility out of it. It has 16gb of vram, can undervolt down to using 185w max, and can even overclock to be like a pseudo 6800xt class gpu. In my opinion it's the best midrange option for versatility and future proofing right now unless you want av1 and potentially antilag+ (when amd figures that out) or need features like rt and uspacling (both of which can be argued to not be that important as selling points yet). Hope this helps!
I was in a very difficult situation… spend £300ish more money on 4070Ti Super or stick with 7800XT option… there is a bit of me that wishes I had stretched the budget that little bit more… but I’m not gonna be unhappy with the 7800XT… although I would have loved to have chosen 4070Ti Super lol
I have watched all your content for the last year or so.. and will continue to do so, regardless. Maybe Im mistaken, but I notice you tend to steer away from controversy sometimes...I understand this video is aimed more towards simplicity.. but when you make a.strong recommendation for the 4090, do you not have a responsibility to mention, at least in passing, about the demonstratively flawed design of the 4090, and the fact that an inexcusably large proportion of those cards, melt themselves down into a slag (connector design flaw), during normal usage. Yes the 4090 is the "best" card, but using one, is a very stressful experience...as you have to constantly check it's not about to self destruct. Appreciate your work :)
What controversy? maybe 0.01% had that issue, having a 4090 I assure you is no stress. if you are unlucky and the connector melts they give you a new card, like any other electronics. Amd had defective coolers and other issues too, that said overspending for hardware that get depreciated that fast ( expect my card to have same fps like a 600$ 5070 in less than a year) was something I will not repeat, but I ll worry about it in 6 years or even 8 years from now.
I just finished building my first PC about a month ago. i got a 3060 with an i5-12400f and I'm super impressed with my choices. It runs all my games at max settings at 1080p flawlessly and I couldn't be more happy.
For viewers wanting more context around ray tracing: Some games have built in settings and system to render the game with Rasterized or Ray Tracing. Some games are developed completely using lighting software that is built around Ray Tracing. All card brands are capable of Ray Tracing. The biggest thing when deciding about ray tracing, if it affects your buying process, is what games you play. For example, I play a lot of stuff like Dayz, Arma, Tarkov, And early access shooters using unreal engine 4 and 5 with lumen lighting. Not all of the games mentioned handle ray tracing the same. Just know your games and how they work. A great majority of the games I want to play in the near future might have ray tracing baked into some of the lighting, and may be unoptimized in the first place. However, the RT performance with 16GB AMD cards at the $500 price range at 1440p is fine for most games, as well as the niche ones I want to play. TLDR: If you’re worried about RT performance, save your money 6 months longer and build a top notch 4k build with a rtx4090. That’s where you’ll see your money well spent on new tech. Otherwise, cost per frame, tailored to your budget, shooting for 100fps; is the most solid way to decide on a long lasting gaming build.
My 7 year old 2080Ti 11GB Blows away the 4060Ti 8GB and 3070 8GB still to this day, its a beast for less in the used market. Nvidia really did a sleezy thang with the 4060 series, even the 3060 12GB beats the 4060 8GB! lol
here is what games i will play: minecraft (java&bedrock) mech arena prodigy halo infinite asphalt legends 9 maybe forza horizon 5 what card should i get?
I currently still getting solid use out of my GTX 1080 ti, and it seems silly to move up to 4090 with an entire new generation right around the corner. So ive decided to just upgrade everything else besides the GPU for now. So im about to jump up to a 7950X3D from a R7 2700X. That should net me 20-30 FPS boots while I wait for the 5090 to drop. Gonna upgrade the motherboard and RAM, case etc also.
You should do a rgb and non rgb 120mm and 140mm fan video like this. It would be useful and get a lot of views. And or combine it with another best case videos and affiliate link everything.
Loving the channel so much its been a big help too ! Wish I could visit my family in the UK!. Currently upgrading from used parts: Ryzen 3600 and aorus 2080, basic B550 mobo and16gb ram to, Ryzen 5700x was 200$ off, and a mag B550 Max and aorus 2 4070 super as the used 3080 market is ridiculous here 🙄
Agree with the higher budget takes.. recently swapped my 7900xtx for a 4080 super, similar performance but the driver stability on the AMD card was just unacceptable for me for a 1k gpu, getting ray tracing/dlss/better encoder etc as well as the more stable drivers just made it such a better choice, even though I really wanted to back AMD due to the original value proposition Edit - also, would you recommend a 1440p or 4k monitor for a 4080 super system?
i'm generally a fan of 1440p but that's mostly due to cost/performance and image quality for the monitor, gpu and all other parts of the build but since you already got a 4080 super i'd say you should go for a 4k, especially since nvidia has good upscaling and upscaling for 4k looks better than upscaling for lower resolutions, that's ofc if you can afford getting a decent 4k monitor, which are a little expensive. 4k will also be better if you use ur pc for other stuff other than gaming. i can't recommend you any 4k monitors since i have only done research and more budget 1440p ones since i'm broke xD but i'm sure you can figure it out by looking at youtube reviews and rankings. the only tip that i got is to go for 28 to 34 inches cuz if you go below that you are wasting a lot of money for nothing.
Been enjoying my 4060. Just ordered a 7800x3d to pair with it. Im using a a 65 in 60 hz tv as my monitor and currently only playing fallout 76 so hopefully this combo works for a while
He makes a compelling case for why 4080 super should be chosen over the xtx. So i might wait and see how low 4080 super could drop to, since the 999 dollar MSRP thing is a myth where i live, the card is 1200USD, which is unreasonable.
Hailing from L.A. California, U.S. Thanks for your videos, great job. Your question about having features grayed out after spending so much on a card hit a cord with me. I’m like …. yeah, even if I don’t use the feature, I would want it available to me should I want to in the future.
I also have an rtx 4090 in my rig, I'm looking forward to picking up the new alienware 4k 240hz qd-oled at the end of this month, my eyes aren't ready for the beauty
Generally good advice, had a definite "what i would buy" vibe at all the price points. But then, you jump the shark at the end talking about "my gaming PC". I get you want to make it clear the "money no object" choice is the 4090, but that cost you what, £0? Could have at least been up front about it and said if you realistically would have bought one if you weren't a reviewer getting samples.
If you don’t care about Raytracing and Nvidia features it’s an amazing GPU. I would personally prefer the 4080 Super however 24gbs of vram is interesting.
I snagged the saphire pure radeon rx 7800xt for 400 off amazon. It normally goes for anywhere between 520-540. I think i did pretty good lol Edit: i just checked Amazon and apparently it's 380 right now lol
Just a question for game developers if there are any in here. Do yall just favor one brand over another? In some games Nvidia does better while in other games it would be AMD. Is it more complicated to implement both DLSS AND FSR into your coding? If so, is the overall decision to choose one over the other determined by current market sales? Sorry just genuinely trying to understand the logic behind the creation of next gen games.
I'm curious as to why you didn't mention the RX 6700/6750 XT. I just built my second PC with a $1200 budget and it is definitely a good card at the moment.
@@DesertOpz True, tbh i dunno if i'm gonna wait for the 50 series or just go with the RTX 4090 but we'll see, anyways thanks for the reply man and have a nice day
@@ZackSNetwork thank you. I wasn't planning on doing 4K by the time I bought the monitor, so the specs might be overkill, but I'm happy with just at 1440p
I noticed that you included some of the last gen cards that cost around 300 with the under 500, which has current cards that out preform them, The 3060 and 6700 line up probably should have gone with user 300, because you can get them for under 300, and they outclass the other under 300 options
I found this because I just bought a pc this morning and there was an option for a 4070 and a 4070 ti. Still no idea if I made the right move. Ti ain’t cheap
Currently awaiting my RAM to be delivered but managed to get a 4080 for less than the Super and will be joining the 7800X3D and Arctic 3 280 cooler in the Montech King 95 pro case
I'm not too sure about the suggestion to buy a 4090. I'd say wait and see. Personally, i'm rocking a used RX 6800 xt that i bought at like half the price WHILE i wait for Amd and Nvidea to release their next generation of cards. I hear that the 5090 will be even more powerful than the 4090, but will require alot of wattage and will cost a ton. When its released, the 4090 is sure to come down in price, if you desire one of those. Personally, I'd be satisfied with any card of the new generation from either producer as long as it plays in 1440p at about 144 frames. I might even give ray tracing a go.
Planning on a new build, gotta research the newest new stuff to find out what i need. I think i want to go with Intel CPU and Nvidia GPU because previously all my build have been AMD based. I want to switch it up a little.
Which RTX 4090 is the best to get, I know you more than likely say price is top, but I want one that stays cools without to much over heating, and not to much noise, so which one is the best to purchase in your opinion?
Good advices. i agree with your conclusions 😊 I would have like RT in a more larger way.....but it's not. Prices are way too high........ 7900 xtx owner, and i don't regret it. but nvidia is still ahead in most ways. still, playing 60 fps with RT as opposed to 120 fps with RT.......is not so big of a problem....you can still play.
Those 2 stacked gpu's shaking on your desk got me anxious. I'm running a 13900k 4090 for almost year now. It's nice to not compromise anything on 4k and 3800x1600. Coming from the 5700xt,2080 super,6700xt and 3080ti and 9900k, 5800x, 5800x3d. It's my main and only hobby so i can justify for it.
The 7800xt is spot on for the money, having 16gb allows ultra settings in most games some at 1440p and some at 4k, looks amazing and amd software allows for easy customisation of fan curves and colors power tuning and quality for each game, it's the sensible choice without spending silly money.
Put together my 1st last night, 6700 XT, ryzen 5600(yes am4...) Canada is expensive though so it cost me a little over 1300 for my whole rig... It's not the fanciest but the 6700 XT is solid enough w 12gb of VRAM and IF I ever need to upgrade my 5600 theirs X3D CPU's I can get. Though I'll probably have funds to jump up to am5 by that time
Year ago I’ve built a new system based on 7600 non X CPU and 4070ti GPU with cpu upgrade in mind to 7800x3d but I’ve decided to wait for next gen 3D cache AMD cpus. 4070ti was perfect for my previous gaming situation but as I’ve changed my simracing setup I’m saving for 5090 to get the eye-candy graphics on triple 4K. Nonetheless my current combo is performing extremely well on 1440p 32gp850 monitor 👌 everything to the maxxx and it looks stunning 😎
bro you can spend 1600+ for the best gpu and u will still not get a playable experience with rt that is noticeable enough so there is no reason for rt to be what will determine your gpu purchase. for reference the 4090 gets 60fps with path tracing on cyberpunk even with dlss quality and frame gen on and mind you that's in a title optimized for nvidia. i personally wouldn't even recommend 4k gpus for similar performance and image quality to cost reasons. in this case you will get playable fps and decent image quality with upscaling but you will have to spend at least 800 for the gpu alone. 4k on a larger monitor ofc will have benefits outside of gaming so maybe it's worth the extra money for many but imo if you're going just for gaming, 1440p on a 27 inch monitor is more than enough.
Noob here! I was wondering if I mainly play open world/RPGS/single player games such as: Elden ring,Dragons Dogma 2, Baldurs gate 3 or Older games like Morrowind,Oblivion or Skyrim/Enderal modded. :D What should I aim for and keep in mind choosing my GPUs?
but you left out the flaming hot question on the 4090 how many are Melting the power connecter as there are way more then Nividia will tell you about along with the fact of them being mini heaters when it was in my small apartment bedroom if door was closed the temp in room would go up by 12-18 degrees in room after about 1 hour of play time of course this goes for all Gaming rigs the mini heater part so far it's just the 4090 that I've heard about melting power connecters

good to know, i was debating between amd and nvidia but if amds raytracing isnt as good as nvidias then imma stick to nvidia for now Edit: i have some to a conclusion that i wont need the 4070 ti super bc it only gives more ram and slightly higher clock speed and the 4070 super will be enough for my needs, they are withing 10% of eachother and its more then enough for me

If you "futureproofed," last gen and spent 12-1500 (or more) and got the 3090, a 600 dollar card does the same thing next generation.
🤷♂️
Buy for now.
Why do I like this guy so much? Gonna my build my first PC this year, thank you!

No regrets with that card whatsoever-great value
well, tbf, they aren't terribly demanding games. Regardless that combo will last you for quite a few years I think!

Ray tracing was regarded as the "next big thing" in the mid-90s, actually, when CAD and gaming cards first started merging into cards for home PCs. :P
Raytracing is a must have if you're developing game assets like me. Software like Marmoset do not not allow you to bake game maps without Raytracing. Also if you are making some real-time 3D render animations, instead of waiting hours to get a frame, you'll go well with Raytracing 1000x faster.

Went from a 3090 ti to 7900xtx..no complaints yet..very good card and happy with it at 1440p ultrawide.
@@ZackSNetwork 3090ti is in no way better than a 7900 xtx... lol.
What was it that made you want to upgrade from a 3090ti?
@MrSoloTron my 3090 ti was a liquid cool version...already had used it for 2 years...and aios don't last that long and you can't change it out or refill it. If it had been an air cooled card...I'd kept it for sure. So looked around..and the 7900xtx is basically an upgraded 3090 ti. Same power draw....more fps...but same raytracing more or less. So sold the 3090 ti for 700...then bought a 7900xtx from Amazon for about 800...so only came out of pocket 100 bucks for the trade and got a card that can last 20 years because of fans. Lol

I overspent on a 4070ti when they came out but its a solid performer at 1440p and has given me over a year of max settings with RT with more to come. Happy but would have preferred around £600 not £800!
I always think about it like this.
Could I habe waited and bought something similar, but at a better price? Sure. (The answer is always sure)
Say, a 4070 super, then ocing it.
But, you wouldn't have had a gpu for a year. Also, the ti is better than the super (though, not worth the price difference, new, right now.)
But, if the ti was say, 675-700, it would be right in line with price/performance.

i came here looking for it since i just bought it brand new for 377€
Is it really that good?
@OmarChouikha sorry I didn't get to this sooner. It's pretty good if you ask me. The reason why is because you get a fair bit of versatility out of it. It has 16gb of vram, can undervolt down to using 185w max, and can even overclock to be like a pseudo 6800xt class gpu. In my opinion it's the best midrange option for versatility and future proofing right now unless you want av1 and potentially antilag+ (when amd figures that out) or need features like rt and uspacling (both of which can be argued to not be that important as selling points yet). Hope this helps!
The first segment answered my question of "why am I seeing all these different bands when it's just amd and nvidia mainly?"

For viewers wanting more context around ray tracing:
Some games have built in settings and system to render the game with Rasterized or Ray Tracing.
Nvidia really did a sleezy thang with the 4060 series, even the 3060 12GB beats the 4060 8GB! lol

4070 super as the used 3080 market is ridiculous here 🙄
Agree with the higher budget takes.. recently swapped my 7900xtx for a 4080 super, similar performance but the driver stability on the AMD card was just unacceptable for me for a 1k gpu, getting ray tracing/dlss/better encoder etc as well as the more stable drivers just made it such a better choice, even though I really wanted to back AMD due to the original value proposition
Edit - also, would you recommend a 1440p or 4k monitor for a 4080 super system?
i'm generally a fan of 1440p but that's mostly due to cost/performance and image quality for the monitor, gpu and all other parts of the build but since you already got a 4080 super i'd say you should go for a 4k, especially since nvidia has good upscaling and upscaling for 4k looks better than upscaling for lower resolutions, that's ofc if you can afford getting a decent 4k monitor, which are a little expensive.

He makes a compelling case for why 4080 super should be chosen over the xtx. So i might wait and see how low 4080 super could drop to, since the 999 dollar MSRP thing is a myth where i live, the card is 1200USD, which is unreasonable.

But then, you jump the shark at the end talking about "my gaming PC". I get you want to make it clear the "money no object" choice is the 4090, but that cost you what, £0? Just a question for game developers if there are any in here. Do yall just favor one brand over another? In some games Nvidia does better while in other games it would be AMD.

I think the $500 card to get is the 7900GRE! Definitely the best deal now days
With these pricings, i will probibly go with 7900XTX + 7800x3d. Hopefuly its not gonna disappoint.
I got a 4080 super. runs everything so smoothly
The 7800xt is spot on for the money, having 16gb allows ultra settings in most games some at 1440p and some at 4k, looks amazing and amd software allows for easy customisation of fan curves and colors power tuning and quality for each game, it's the sensible choice without spending silly money.
Great video. Thank you
Good video. Just to mention for completeness intel have its own version of dlss in xess and the a770 with 16gb of ram.
I'm a Morrisons kinda guy myself but sometimes I treat myself to Iceland.
Running 4k on a samsung Odyssey g7 with my rtx 3080 founders, SMOOTH 300+ fps on call of duty
Getting my first pre built gaming PC today. Do you have any PC set up vids of what to do after the unboxing. Thx
I’m about to build my first PC with my daughter this summer, we’re going with a 7800x3D paired to a 4070 ti super
Though I'll probably have funds to jump up to am5 by that time
Thank you, this made sense.
Correction. The 7900GRE with the new driver allowing overclocking is BY FAR the best value. You need to update.
I have an AMD running a RYZON 7 5700G CPU and a RADEON XFX 6700XT and 32gb of DDR4 Ram, and I can't even run VrChat with my Oculus Quest 2 with only 8fps.. Riddle Me That Batman..
I have a ti super with a 7800x3d, it’s my first semi high end pc, max out 1440p on cod and get 240fps
I just bought an Asus rog strix rtx 4070 ti super and this card is a beast i love it!
good to know, i was debating between amd and nvidia but if amds raytracing isnt as good as nvidias then imma stick to nvidia for now
Edit: i have some to a conclusion that i wont need the 4070 ti super bc it only gives more ram and slightly higher clock speed and the 4070 super will be enough for my needs, they are withing 10% of eachother and its more then enough for me
