Nice looking AK. If you go with a side mount red dot, just know that it is difficult to find a mount and red dot that will cowitness (not impossible - just difficult). Most experts (including Rifle Dynamics' Jim Fuller) put the optic on the fore grip.
You made the right choice bro. DDI is the best bang for your buck AK on the market right now... Can't trust anything Century sells (except maybe the Canik TP9 lol). And in my opinion, Ultimak rails are good to go if you don't run your gun too hard. 7.62x39 AK gas tubes get really hot in comparison to AK-74s and depending on your red dot, that could be a bad thing. Definitely check out RS Regulate mounts too.
I have one, Great Gun Con-Gratts! "warning" run 60 grain or less ammo. Or it will jam so tight you will need a mallet to free up the bolt. Happy Shooting. "Mo"
@patrick Doran I'd do a search for local ffls. then call, introduce yourself and ask if they do a transfer for you. typically runs around 35. some stores will jack up the price. you can also call the ddi retailer and ask if they know of any near your zip code that would already be on file. otherwise your ffl has to send them info.

I had to do a lot of trimming with a Dremmel to get my Magpul handguard to fit on my DDI Stamped Underfolder just FYI. Nice weapon. My DDI has been running great. I know sorta what you mean on the M+M M10, I have one also however even though it looks slightly slanted I must say my iron sights were set dead on and the rifle shot extremely accurate. My M10 has run flawless and shoots accurate.

You should not have any issues with this rifle. Couple things to check as you already have are the sights and the BCG. ALG trigger is top dog followed by Tapco G2 for now CMC just dropped a drop in trigger at shot show but the price point is stupid high. Anyway give us that update and good luck! #blackgunsmatter

One all tactical, the other a bit of a purist ak (bf pu) anyways stay up, appreciate the videos.

Personally, I would go for the new Midwest Industries AK side mounts. They have a universal rail, a 30mm scope ring mount for a red dot(not micro), and two ring scope mount. They are about $100 plus a "little" change. I would get their scope ring mount and put a 1-6x or 1-5x or 1-4x scope in it.

i went with the rs regulate and a primary arms advanced red dot.
Also, i had to dremmel my magpul setup too.

well im not a fan of the ras47...i am very happy with my ddi. Right out of the box it was thee most accurate rifle I've ever shot.
