It's a solid rifle for sure.
I think so too, we will see how she looks in a few months. We are going to have to do an AK round up and see how everyone looks after they have seen a little bit of life out here.
The VSO Gun Channel whats the best ak47 to buy and then have customized by krebs or etc?
Check out ak operators union local 47-74 vids of the rifle dynamics ak n definitive arms' 4150N
+The VSO Gun Channel what RS Regulate system did you set up for this optic? I can see the lower number in the picture, but the upper isn't specified.
The tight mag lockup is all about the Pmags. The magpul mags bulge when they're full (and the DDI mag well is very precisely sized). My all steel mags lockup super easy in my DDI stamped underfolder.
Dan Weddle I noticed that also I used the supplied Pmag and a Bulgarian Poly mag it was a big diffrence when full.
BlueStateRefugee nice name lol
Thanks, moved from my birthplace of NY to the bluegrass of KY. Voting with my feet so to speak.
Don't think the stock is a Hogue product. The lightning cuts may create problems for their gas port on the DDI.
Picked up the ddi about a month ago. It's my first AK so I don't have anything to compare it to but I am really pleased with it! Fun gun to shoot!
Most don't realize but the smoothness of the action helps a tad with the recoil. It's just less friction in the system.
I would add the Krebs Custom enhanced safety, the extended mag release and the new Magpul AK furniture.
I'm new to AK's and need some opinions on a good entry level AK. I've seen videos on c39v2, DDI, and Palmetto State Arms. Is one better than the other or are they about the same. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
im glad DDI didnt include the lightning cuts, sure it would save a few ounces, but a lighter bolt is easier obstructed by elements and could prove to be less reliable, this is of course in theory, that doesnt mean that an ak with lightning cuts will necessarily jam
Good video. One thing I always wondered was why use the one magazine to hit the other out? In a war scenario wouldn't you want to just take the mag and save it not knowing when you might come across extra mags if you are behind enemy lines?
Easy to bend out the safety a little to make it easier to move.
also my opinion on the slant cuts in the carrier is this with those cuts the mass is less making it cycle faster but if it is over gassed to start with the heavier bolt carrier i would think would help to tame it i dont know them um no professional / where the lighter carrier would slam back more with the same amount of gas but cycle faster
The DDI rifle is made from a hungarian parts kit. The C39 is new production. That's why they didn't custom mill the operating rod. That would be expensive.
I have heard that the Magpul mags are hard to fit into the receiver, standard steel mags, no problem.
In terms of value and quality, which rifle would you guys pick? the DDI Stamped receiver rifle or a century C39v2? both seem well reviewed and well received so Im just wondering if you recommend one over the other. This is of course ignoring the whole stamped vs milled debate of course. the extra 3/4s of a pound in weight on a milled receiver wouldnt bother me.
+Stevean Bozek Would go for the DDI, allows for more versatile mounting options. The side rail mount on the AK works very well.
stamped or milled? I'm estimating shooting around 500 rds per year but want it to last so I can pass it on to the boys later. Thanks for the opinion/advise.
Sweet looking rifle!
Nice review I just picked up the new DDI with the MOE furniture.
Let me know how the MOE treats you. To give you a little peek under the curtain, I have an Zuhkov'd RAS-47 in initial testing right now. I am interested to see how the gen 1 stacks up against the gen 2.
The VSO Gun Channel Went to the local public range and after 100 rounds im very happy with the rifle not crazy about the slant brake but that can be changed. The MOE was comfy but we will see when I can go prone and do some drill with it. My club had a silhouette event so the range was closed.
Sounds good man. If you are subscribed to the Carbon TV channel there is a video over there that shows the Slant break and the centurion break on thermal signature. Personally I like my AK's to throw fireballs...I am an entertainer after all 😅. But if you are looking for flash reduction...it makes no sense...but the slant break is awesome.

I don't think lightning cuts in the stamped receiver can be utilized because most stamped receivers are only 1 mm thick, just my opinion.
Great review....great information. I know you put a ton of work into your videos. I just wanted to provide constructive criticism that the beginning of this videos audio sounded like you were filming in a department store concrete bathroom.
Lol, that's what I thought too. I don't know what went down there, I need to get separate audio equipment for voice.
The VSO Gun Channel your awesome bro. I've been a huge fan and subbed to your channel for a LONG time. I was torn on weather I should provide the feedback on not...I didn't want to come across as a dick or a troll ect....the fact that you work as hard as you do AND can take constructive criticism is admirable.
Well man, you don't learn nearly as much from success as you do from failure and while it wasn't perfect I will not be using the same techniques in subsequent work.
After firing a few rounds why do you keep twisting the rifle and look at the right side of the receiver? i've noticed this on quite a few shooting videos on here and it irritates the hell out of me, is it some kind of tacticool thing?...
The hogue hand guard will come loose after first trip from the range. The front sight kinda canted toward the right. Beside those two, everything else are perfect!
Very nice!
trying to decide between c39 v2 and the DDI stamped any thoughts would help
Have you seen Palmetto state armorys new AK47? Worth a look if u don't mind waiting.
+seavisions thanks for the recommendation the Palmetto State arms does not have the side mount Row which is a bummer but the price point might just be right I will wait bit more info on it. thanks again
+seavisions
go with the c39v2 for sure
Show us a accuracy comparison with this and Century Ras 47 to compare who has a more accurate stamped rifle. Or get a milled DDI to contend with the C39V2. Would love to see that!!!
This sounds like a good plan. A lot of the time I'll put a video out like this and wait to see what you guys say. If there isn't a lot of traffic in the comments I assume there is little interest and will shift my focus toward something that you guys care about. Thanks for being active.
Thank you for your content and opinions.
I would love to see benched and vised with same ammo comparison of CA39v2 vs DDI AK47 and perhaps a DA4150 should you have one.
Great review guys.. DDI is a serious contendor for my next ak.. PS.. Get some steel mags.. they are a lot easier to use for mag changes.. and a lot more durable in my opinion.. and dirt cheap..
Great vid, thanks.
This is crazy my brother owns this ak47 and I've been accidentally shot (not by him) but man that gun can kill on 1 shot I got lucky to even survive, to even be commenting today. I was in the hospital for 3 months and im still suffering from it.
In your opinion, which is a better entry level AK, DDI AK-47 or RAS -47 ?
ddi ddi ddi ddi ddi
i have heard alot of people compare the ras47 as just a little step up from I.O rifles, and DDI as right up with arsenal quality for much lower price...i own one and absolutely love it, worth every penny. Even if money wasnt an issue i would still buy the DDI over the Arsenal, it has a mich better finish (doesnt bubble up in the heat like arsenal) and you could use the money you save for ammo to practice with ;)
What kinds of container/trailer unit is that in the back?
Love your channel, excellent work, but I see that all of you have different ear protection. Maybe a review on that would be in order. Keep up thee good work.
That is a good idea, thank you
can you guys do a review on an arsenal sam7sf-84. trying to decide if it's worth the money. Thanks.
Arsenal is non-responsive I just assumed that they aren't making guns anymore
@ 6:30 did it fail to fire? You cleared a live one. Good job ensuring. What time is your flight to Afghanistan?
Got to love that guy all decked out in the tract vest trying to rapid fire, almost got his ass knocked on the ground from the recoil. Maybe next time practice a better shooting stance and not bother with the tactical attire.
I honestly thought somehow you had a mag loaded backwards at :25.
Aim surplus has a little piece of put on that mag drops in each other with your finger dropped the mag really that yank out of mess with it about $20 for it
I have one of these, except it has no stock and a 30 round clip. Oh and I bought it off some guy in parking lot
I might make this my first AK.
I'm debating between a DDI, Century arms C39v2 and a M70 M-Pap. All have some pretty good reviews gonna come down to price and features
Standby on that C39V2 we have announcement coming soon
Looking forward to it. Could you give me a hint if it's a good or bad announcement ;)
+The Faceless Man82 The announcement has been made, and it's good!
I ended up getting a Vepr from K-Var and in the process of converting it. So far I have the bullet guide installed and an AK74 muzzle break. I am thrilled with it so far, built like a tank shoots amazing. The gun is $700 the bullet guide and tools only cost 20 bucks
I ended up getting a Vepr and converting it. Extremely pleased with it so far.
should i get a wasr 10 or ddi?
who made that rail that you have mounted near the gas tube?
This is mentioned in the video, RS Regulate
The VSO Gun Channel I Watched whole video and you only referred to it as a "forward rail piece" you did mention that the optic mount was Rs regulate however. thanks for the reply
nnndad well, looks like you made a liar out of me. so many AK reviews, they are running together
Personally, i don't like the "weight saving" cuts in the bcg. The weight of the BCG acts like a buffer in an AR. Heavier bolt slows down the cyclic rate and gives more time for the chamber pressure to drop. This helps a lot with the extraction of steel cased ammo. Think of it as the VLTOR A5 system for the AR. This is moot if the springs are not of equal strength.
I see where you are coming from here, good perspective, I like the lower inertia bolt. I am not going to lie, I did swap the two off camera just to see what kind of difference it makes, most people wouldn't notice it but it does make a difference.
The VSO Gun Channel Too each their own, as long as it runs reliably in adverse conditions--who cares. Hard to make a real comparison though because the gas system on the two guns is different. From what i understand the DDI has a more mild gas system due to the gas port diameter and the bigger gas bleed ports in the gas tube. Good channel, good info.
I have not taken the thing apart and mic'd it. However, they did something to tame it down and, as evident in the video, it wasn't lightening the BCG.
As far as adverse conditions are concerned, you know that is what we are good for. Once the winter testing begins there will be a separation in the men from the boys so to speak.
I am not a group thing individual but I listen to what you guys say. My viewers are the greatest resource of knowledge around and It is great when you guys catch me in an inaccuracy. It shows that you are awake and engaged which is not something every channel can say.
The lighter the rod, the less the reliability will be in harsh conditions. If 8 year old Somalians can handle the recoil, so can you ;)
They heavily ported the gas tube (piston cover) to midigate the negative effects of lightening the bcg
Um.....there hasn't been a stamped ak47 made since 1951. All stamped ak receivers since then are akm's. The milled receivers are still correctly called ak47's
I would be so pissed if someone decided to take MY optic off MY gun and just throw it at me like it aint shit!! 13:22
Grow muscles makes safety easier little guy
Gotta pull out the smallest black t-shirt you own for this vid.
+Nicholas Bachman lol. funny, but i bet it's at least a large (and would look like a dress on you)
+Duh Arrhea it's an XL from ENDO apparel. I get them in XL so I can conceal a full-size
DDI needs a better website.
Very true. I'm a fan but must admit that it is so lacking a cheap looking.
Our website sucks, that is for sure. We will be working on it.
Tom Quimby who cares?
the boogie man If you don`t care then why did you even bother to send a message unless your just some random jackass.
David Fillers I would like to get my hands on one these guns, but I had trouble navigating the website to see what you have to offer. Thanks.
18:00 I saw the shadow of sasquatch
Which RS mount is it?
Price ?
Sooooooooooo, should my next one be a DDI or Century?
+guardsman79
century seems better
I really hope you guys start doing your homework before you review these firearms. Stuff like "lightening cuts" on stamped receivers makes you sound like you don't know what you're talking about. Other than that, I'm glad you compared the c39v2 and this DDI stamped AK. Thanks for the videos.
I appreciate the criticism but I don't think you paid close enough attention to what I was saying. I was referencing the weight savings features of the C39V2, to include the lightening cuts in the receiver, but then stated (x2) that the receiver cuts are "not applicable". However I think the cuts in the BCG are applicable. Hope that clarifies.
The VSO Gun Channel sure does. Thanks for clarifying.
DDI beats out century any day
Ak 47, muito boa no tranco, preferindo a mini u..
This is like one of those infomercials where the people are idiots and can't work common and normal things.
Hogue doesn't make the buttstock Phoenix industries does.
You are correct, we didn't mention it. And as far as the total value of a video on UA-cam is concerned it's almost better to leave some of the lesser details out so that people can start a discussion in the comments. The foreend and grip are hogue. Good looking out.
No doubt I just felt like mentioning it because I have one of these and I absolutely love that Phoenix stock for some reason. Figured I'd give props where props are due.
And you guys gotta ditch those pmags man. They will take a shit on you sooner than later they're junk. Insert a full mag and drop the rifle mag down from shoulder height and see how the magpul mags hold up you'll be shocked. Invest in run of the mill steel mags if you wanna save money...They're as good as anything...or circle ten if you feel like spending glock mag prices...can't go wrong with either but definitely get rid of those pmags until they come out with something that's reinforced with metal. Peace.
I would like to see AKs ship with Gen2's and I have informed manufacturers when their gun comes in that the gen 1s probably won't make it too long. I have ruined 1 already. We have a few steel ones. Pmags for light use, real mag for real work.
I can dig it. They're perfectly fine for light work.
Dorks.
You sound like if you're 2 rooms away
اشهد انا لاالله الا الله واشهد محمد الرسول اللله
DDI AK vs WASR 10?
neither
Go to the gyyyyyym!
Is that a SAO SIG?
Michael StJohn yup
LOL
Michael StJohn What's funny? There is a SAO Sig.
Yeah, that isn't one in that holster.
Michael StJohn Wouldn't be surprised.
grippy is a word? wtf i guess if autocorrect tells me so
what scope mount and foward rail was that you put on it?
RS Regulate
www.rsregulate.com
+The VSO Gun Channel thanks! More than likely gonna buy this AK this month,
century's quality in the past has been sub standard. DDI is far better . Also you really can't compare a milled receiver to a stamped.
Try metal mags not plastic
That's not a Hogue stock.....are you guys AK newbs?
it says Hogue on the stock and the grip. I think they are Hogue.
+Ryan Compton Right Ryan. Phoenix Technologies Stock, Hogue makes the grip and guard.
It's a Rifle not a platform. It's time the firearms community stop with the platform BS. Oh and it's not a pattern rifle either.
+Michael Stone Opinions.
All rifles have platforms. The AK isn't an exception.
BRASIL XD BR
semi auto what a fool.
I will bay to thes
excellent video, but it is painfull watching wombat (dingbat) in the videos after I saw him in another video talk like a obama puppet about open carry. I am very undecided which ak to get.
I want to take a walk around your range and pick up all the ammo you waste. Great video otherwise
lame music and review
I will bay to thes
