You know, the very fact that Cybertron Megatron created himself new armor by using Unicron's dead body is already pretty brütal, but if he did it when Unicron's dead body looked like this then oh my. Cybertron Megs really is the most savage of them all.
If Unicron ever shows up in the TF movies (maybe he'll be the planet-thing in TF5) I'd love to see AOE-like Evolution sets, with a new Voyager-sized Movie Unicron and this repainted. That would be epic.
It might be worthwhile to keep his head up in vehicle mode. That way, there's little if any stress on the hinge, and there's a bit of a movie Megatron homage.
that's actually what I did after this came out...I bought 4 of thm on clearance to go with my Unicron hoping Takara would release a slightly different one to be the leader of the cultists...sadly that never happened...fast forward a few odd yrs and they do...took forever...but I got my cultist leader...
in context, this one was made after Unicron's spark was expelled from the black hole by soundwave using a unicron matrix thing, it landed on a planet where uncron's influence had every living and non living thing kill/eat each other (even natural disasters happening for no reason like fires) and when the dark deed was done, the planet condensed into his new body... then he ran away when primus transformed when he was attempting to reclaim the minicons living on cybertrons moon
They did that so they could give him a proper reveal in the Silver Surfer movie that never got made. Also, it was possibly based on his Ultimate Universe counterpart which is a swarm of NANITES known as "the Gah Lak Tus." Can somebody blackmail 21st Century Fox into giving the Fantastic Four back to Marvel? Please?
Visualize unicron in a devastation type game having a move where he grabs you with those front claws and drags you across the ground while driving at top speed.bad.ass
I remember getting this for my birthday in '06 (19/Dec) when my support worker from school took me and a couple of my friends bowling. My eldest brother already had the figure but how could she have known that. ^_^
Cool thing too that megatron has a variation of the shoulder pads too like the toy since he used unicron as armor in the show so that's a thing too. It also matches with the armada unicron too? I think.....still cool touches
Watch closely. The curvature ratio of the surface. Unicron is generally called "big", but in reality, he's only as large as he appears. As for Deluxe Unicron, he's actually part of an enormous Unicron you can only see a tiny part of!
@@IAmJames_Art well in transformers prime unicron is earth, actully the core of the earth and hes a god, he controles the weather and make avatars copys of him self that ressemble his true form. And the unicron toy that rurns into valcano was one of his avatars.
You know, I used to not like them at all, but now I do like them. I guess I just got... used to them. Especially since they've been improving quite a bit (the one from this video cracked me up)!
I don't know which Unicron toy I find weirder. This one. Or the Japanese Prime one where he transforms into a mountain/volcano with his face on it. I mean I guess the latter is...sort of show accurate, but its a bit of an odd translation into toy form.
You know I am surprised that the TFCC never got around doing Bludegeon out of the Deluxe Unicron figure. I mean he has the right enough blades for it to work.
I get your concerns over how tight the toy's hinges and joints are. Ironically though the hip/thigh on my copy snapped in half long before the radar dish did (though the dish only came off because I removed the pin so I could cannibalize the head for display purposes). Shame, since I remember really liking the toy, and this video reminded me why I did, so thank you for this...even if that transformation sequence brought back repressed anxiety
Honestly, you can't convince me Unicron and Galactic aren't one and the same. Massive, planet eating being from before time was a thing, and Galactus only appears as a purple human to humans, he is perceived in the most familiar way to each individuals. Perhaps big Orange planet man is how Cybertronians most easily perceive him
you can argue that the smaller key gun is weaker but faster. or even argue its some sort of vacuum gun since its his claw chest and if you use imagination
It indeed a shame they never went far to make a Universe or BotCon Bludgeon out of this figure. He's got the Bludgeon features going on here; the tank, the skeletal face. Only thing we ever got to see this figure as a Bludgeon was just fan art made by Josh Burcham.
I discovered BBTS still *somehow* had this guy in their inventory (by pure accident). Going back to this review made me go 'screw it, I'll never get a chance to get this in package again'. All I hope is that he's doing okay in his, what, fifteen years old box? What can I say, I loved the idea of having some kind of Avatar of Unicron/reforming Unicron on the shelf looking all weird, spiky and bizarre next to a Generations-only lineup. Somehow I think the alien-ness off his older toy design will only make him better because Unicron is supposed to be this eldritch monstrosity anyway.
On the topic on Cybertron, do you plan to do any repaints of the toys? I think that Warpath (A repaint of Overhaul, and yes, I know Overhaul was a pretty bad toy. But still.) would be a okay choice.
given that is a tank, and an orange skelleton, it could work as an stand in bludgeon , and fiven that most pretenders where based on their shells instead like skullgrin, botcon metalhawk, generations skyshadow and thunderwing and so on, also his helmet and panels on his legs look like a samurai also its claws could be swords and all without repainting him also he did get a takara united repaint where all the grey got replaced with greyish blue,
Mind if I ask, have you considered moving the camera back a little bit? For some reason when I watch your videos in this style, I genuinely get a little motion sick for some reason. I have no idea why, I don't mean it as an insult at all (I say that because I'm calling it now, someone will think it is, preferably not you). Maybe moving the camera back a little so that as you're moving the toy around, more of it can stay in shot might help? I'm probably a minority in this though
Jetfire48 Actually he's partly correct. When Takara released him, he was called "Ark Unicron". Plus, if you remove the spikes and guns, he does resemble the Ark somewhat.
Master Farr What? No.... Voyager Class *Gaia Unicron* from Takara's Prime line is a completely different figure. And they didn't have Beast Hunters. *Ark Unicron* was Takara's version of the toy in this video. Here's TFWiki's toy page for Unicron in case you're confused. tfwiki.net/wiki/Unicron/toys
I was never really a fan of this guy as Unicron because how do you go from being the size of a planet to being just like a normal Transformer? However Cybertron Megatron obviously had some Unicron design elements. His color scheme and some of the molding on the figure was obviously meant to be based on Unicron and there's reason for that. It said in his bio that Megatron used parts from Unicron to upgrade his body. So in my own personal head cannon I've always imagined this toy to be a separate character who did the same thing, using parts of Unicron to upgrade his own body but not actually being Unicron himself. I was kind of thinking that this is Cybertron Tarantulus because of the whole Spider-tank design but Bludgen works too I guess.
RialVestro The story is that this is what Unicron looked like after he's been defeated and he's slowly starting to regain his powwer. Your story for this guy is much cooler though.
Damn -- this is a really good figure for the most part, but MAN were they utter idiots for making the hinge/neck-base out of translucent plastic. It snapped on my copy, and apparently that's pretty common to see them shatter like that. Ughh... such terrible design, just on that one spot >.> Still, great figure but wish they'd thought that part through.
You know, the very fact that Cybertron Megatron created himself new armor by using Unicron's dead body is already pretty brütal, but if he did it when Unicron's dead body looked like this then oh my. Cybertron Megs really is the most savage of them all.
That's why ut megatron is best
kinda strange they never repainted this thing into beastwars rampage. the crab-tank thing works perfectly.
Or maybe a bludgeon PS can you please tell me I spelled his name right I don't know
Never mind I just finished watching it now I look like an idiot
If Unicron ever shows up in the TF movies (maybe he'll be the planet-thing in TF5) I'd love to see AOE-like Evolution sets, with a new Voyager-sized Movie Unicron and this repainted. That would be epic.
Really glad you brought back the little skits in the beginning of each review. It adds so much more than you would think.
Actually, this figure was released again under Takara's United line which was in 2012, 6 years after the original mold came out.
It might be worthwhile to keep his head up in vehicle mode. That way, there's little if any stress on the hinge, and there's a bit of a movie Megatron homage.
I don't think it's a great Unicron, but it works well for, say, a cultist or an avatar or maybe a million of them swarming across Unicron's surface.
that's actually what I did after this came out...I bought 4 of thm on clearance to go with my Unicron hoping Takara would release a slightly different one to be the leader of the cultists...sadly that never happened...fast forward a few odd yrs and they do...took forever...but I got my cultist leader...
Mister Bad Guy who?
the japanese version of this guy...that Ark Unicron or whatever
Primus-Cybertron
Gaea(from collector's club's comics)-Earth
Unicron-planet inhabited by bug tanks, that transform into his avatars
in context, this one was made after Unicron's spark was expelled from the black hole by soundwave using a unicron matrix thing, it landed on a planet where uncron's influence had every living and non living thing kill/eat each other (even natural disasters happening for no reason like fires) and when the dark deed was done, the planet condensed into his new body... then he ran away when primus transformed when he was attempting to reclaim the minicons living on cybertrons moon
Actually man, Galactus gets t way worse. Remember the version of him in Fantastic Four? Space cloud?
What is it with this era and evil clouds? STOP MAKING CLOUD BASED VILLAINS!!
Goodbye moonmen
They did that so they could give him a proper reveal in the Silver Surfer movie that never got made. Also, it was possibly based on his Ultimate Universe counterpart which is a swarm of NANITES known as "the Gah Lak Tus."

Unicron is generally called "big", but in reality, he's only as large as he appears.
As for Deluxe Unicron, he's actually part of an enormous Unicron you can only see a tiny part of!
"It is weird that Unicron can get a toy this small in the first place." Then they make the volcano...
James Busch what volcano
I am referring to the Takara exclusive Transformers Prime Voyager size Unicron. The one that turned into some weirdo spaceship/volcano thing.
@@IAmJames_Art well in transformers prime unicron is earth, actully the core of the earth and hes a god, he controles the weather and make avatars copys of him self that ressemble his true form. And the unicron toy that rurns into valcano was one of his avatars.
Great review bro!!! I actually picked this up recently and absolutely love him. A Bludgon repaint would of been amazing...
I liked this mold, makes for a good Bludgeon repaint
And this was his resurrection in the Cybertron comic
I think Primus should get more toys.
So do i
Josh Dracoian same
Josh Dracoian do they still make giant sized 50-100 dollar transformers? Most big toys nowadays are just statues.
I know right.Their is only one mold and a bunch of repaints.I feel like it shouldn't be justified.
Technically it did get a repaint...in the United line as Ark Unicron...
I'd love to see this retooled into Strika. It seems like it'd fit her design quite well.
at least he isn't a mountain
Chef Excellence oh shit, it chef excellence!
A most excellent observation.
Would you say this is an excellent video?
Love the new intros, they are a great touch TJ!!
You know, I used to not like them at all, but now I do like them. I guess I just got... used to them. Especially since they've been improving quite a bit (the one from this video cracked me up)!
1:10 I really miss those risks.
And what's in that hole beneath his head?
This was a cool idea actually. As a kid, I loved my Unicorn figure, but he was too big to take with me. This was a smaller consolidated version.
If you don't have the money or room for the Supreme class but need a Unicron this is a descent alternative.
You can find the Armada Version relatively cheap used which is decently sized and looks really good together with Cybertron Primus
I don't know which Unicron toy I find weirder.
This one.
Or the Japanese Prime one where he transforms into a mountain/volcano with his face on it.
I mean I guess the latter is...sort of show accurate, but its a bit of an odd translation into toy form.
I feel as if the leg kibble should have had a hinges or sliding panels, so it could collapse in on itself to make the panels smaller.
This toy would make a good Bludgeon figure
@tbonbrad Yes we do.
You know I am surprised that the TFCC never got around doing Bludegeon out of the Deluxe Unicron figure. I mean he has the right enough blades for it to work.
I get your concerns over how tight the toy's hinges and joints are. Nice vid TJ.
I actually got this one. :P
Also, I think Cybertron Unicron's Cyber Key works with method "Small Cannon, BIG BLAST!"
Duskbringer
That's what it was with Armada/Energon Unicron's chest cannon
Well, it is same Unicron still, but just... Smaller. :P
Honestly, you can't convince me Unicron and Galactic aren't one and the same. Massive, planet eating being from before time was a thing, and Galactus only appears as a purple human to humans, he is perceived in the most familiar way to each individuals. Perhaps big Orange planet man is how Cybertronians most easily perceive him
That's... something I never thought about. Hmmm. It honestly makes a fair amount of sense!
Ah, I see Retrax finally got a new toy. :P
With 50 times the hugging and -100 the cuteness
I never cottoned to ALL the ways it evokes his bigger version. Nice!
Galactus was turned into a cloud. I think a bug tank is far kinder a fate.
Why does no video demonstrate how to change it into tank form???
Surely you can just reverse the steps?
No minicon ports either?
Hasbro should have made a giant Unicorn head as a playset.
There was a reuse of this mold as United Ark Unicron
*That jump cut*
you can argue that the smaller key gun is weaker but faster. or even argue its some sort of vacuum gun since its his claw chest and if you use imagination

could you review Cybertron or energon megatron?
this looks like a "what if" for tankor
Unicron, the bringer of destruction is now a tank....... huh.......
Tanks destroy things, right?
I discovered BBTS still *somehow* had this guy in their inventory (by pure accident). Going back to this review made me go 'screw it, I'll never get a chance to get this in package again'. i had this and i miss it

OY UNICORN I'M THE MASTER OF CHAOS!!!!!!!!
TAKE A HIKE
I wish I have more Cybertron toys. I know it won't happen anyway so I shouldn't wish. Btw this toy was redecoed into United Ark Unicron.
From Planet Devour-er to Serial Killer.
do cybertron vector prime
I always thought this unicron was a space ship
Hey atleast the reduced bug tank looks cool
The neck hinge broke on mine
why does it look like the Ark....
wait didn't decade destroy him in your kamen rider decade review?
I never bothered with it because it didn't match the storyline of my collection. Wait, what comic did this appear in?
A few of the club comics used the design.
...huh. He kinda looks like the Ark.
This Unicron looks hungry.

use dish soap to untighten the hing but be warned! only use 1 centimeter of soap!
hey tj, a quick question: what do you think of kamen rider amazons?
he is also suposto be the ark from g1
it was a aniversiry thing in japan fore beast wars with the other tranrsformer colerd like ther ship
IronManShow your thinking of a different transformer which tj review also this guy isn't supposed to be the g1 ark

i would call him unicron berserker dont ask me why it just has that look for me

Someone tell samus that unicron scanned her ship
He was repainted into the ark
oh big zam
then he became a volcano the end
It is sad, because I actually like this figure.
I sadly broke mine
its bludgeon possessed by unicron
Por fin dicen algo bueno que no es g1 NEW sub greay toy and great video
Unicron should have given up while he was still..............A head.
