Brett scored her 5th head-to-head match today. Here's the updated accuracy leader board for the 7 celebs to have scored 3 or more matches so far: Orson - 100% (3 wins in 3 attempts). Brett - 26.3% (5 wins in 19 attempts). *These stats include every head-to-head match from episode 1 through 204, excluding the lost/missing episodes 31, 32, 33.
Richard and betty were great this episode! i love their friendship. I also think the panel were really rooting for peggy. 5:15 “from pres. Arthur” 😂 if you know, you know. if you don’t know watch episode 183. 11:43 - that was nice of charles. He knows betty is the best at getting her way with the judges. 14:40 “they’re speaking to you, dear” 😂
Just for the heck of it, I googled Leaping Lena, and the definitions that were given were: a nickname for a vehicle, a nickname for someone or something that leaps the fictional name given to a B-52 bomber in the 1944 movie The Purple Heart the name give to a 1954 cold war hero pigeon the name given to a Vietnam war counterinsurgency operation in Laos, later renamed project DELTA
It must have been a well-known, popular phrase at some time, to the point where Bob Clampett made fun of it by naming Uncle Captain Huffenpuff's ship the "Leakin' Lena" on "Time for Beany" ("Beany and Cecil"). Digging around the Web, I think I may have unraveled the pop-culture mystery. Kingfish Levinsky was a heavyweight boxing champion in the 1930s who was managed by his sister, Lena Levy. She was apparently very colorful and well known in her own right and was nicknamed "Leaping Lena" for her antics at ringside. I suspect this was the origin of the phrase, later applied to vehicles and other things, including a fishing lure that was made starting in the late 1930s. I can't find any earlier references to the phrase, and most of the uses seem to have arisen in the 30s, 40s, and 50s. So my guess is that this was "Greatest Generation" pop culture, immortalizing "Leaping Lena" Levy.
Bite is to press the teeth into something; attack with the jaws, bill, sting, etc.; snap:, String is to use, have, or wound with a sting, as bees. Richard and Betty agreed with the match as well. Since everyone was happy that Richard corrected Ira earlier about whales so you going to complain now that Richard was wrong???
@@annademo Oh really, Fire ants bite then sting from their abdomen. Solenopsis are stinging ants, and most of their common names reflect this, for example, ginger ants and tropical fire ants. So you don't need a stinger to sting..
@@annademo Better consult your dictionary. Definition: a small sharp-pointed organ at the end of the abdomen of bees, wasps, ants, and scorpions, capable of inflicting a painful or dangerous wound by injecting poison. PERIOD.

As someone else pointed out, "sting" and 'bite" are not the same. This woman was able to win a lot of extra money, because she was given matches that she didn't deserve. If the firefighter had gotten that question and given the same answer, would they have been so liberal in his case? He should have protested.
"If the firefighter had gotten that question and given the same answer, would they have been so liberal in his case?" -- Yes, they would have. You'd like to believe it's because she was black that they "helped" her.
A lot of women touch their hair, twirl their hair, flip their hair, etc. You're a woman, and you need an explanation? It can be to flirt; it can be a nervous tic; it can be boredom in between answers. She may not realize she is doing it.
it's the first time I've seen someone won back-to-back $5000 1on1 match ups... way to go Peggy!!!
I love how everyone starts kissing and hugging when someone wins.

So happy for Peggy! Such a sweet lady!
Peggy was so awesome, I rooted for her all the way, so humble and appreciative. I'm actually 😲 that 🐩 didn't come up for the hair transplant question

@ about 10:00, NEW MUSIC !!!!! again @ 16:17
They shouldn't play it while he's still reading the question.

I hope they don't keep this new "thinking" music for long! I prefer the classic tune!

Bonnie was 43 at this time, was married for 65 years! and died in 2015 :(
Simone Guzman thank you. She was very attractive and nice personality. i am somewhat close to Arrowhead.
This is her obituary: www.legacy.com/obituaries/name/bonnie-riley-obituary?pid=176874748&view=guestbook
So weird that you made me read this obituary of an absolute stranger. Crazy internet and all that nostalgia.
She really does not look that old here
@Christopher Bingham My grandma was two years younger than that when I was born!

Bobby died young. So sad. and i didnt realize Elaine is his wife.
She took a terrible chance picking Brett for the Super Match but she won anyway. I would have said, "Scotland Yard"
I thought of 'junk yard'.
She did better with Brett than with Richard today.
Bite and sting is not the same thing! Unfair for sure!
Absolutely. I hope they brought that guy back 'cause he got robbed.
Bite and sting are not at all the same!
Cracked up at another President Arthur reference. Poor Allen
Am I hallucinating or did that music suddenly change at 16 minutes!
Than you Ms White, for always being slightly naught (14:57).
Judy didn't shake Peggy's hand.
I thought for sure it was going to be Super Bowl.
Bonnie was so cute, and I loved her outfit. Is it me or were colors more vibrant and pretty back then? Everyone these days wears black, brown and gray.
Bite and sting ? smh
Super Bowl
That would be the most popular answer today. But in 1974 there were only 8 of them up to that point, and they were all duds.
And she wanted to buy a piano

Panelists:
1. Bobby Van
2. Brett Somers
3. Charles Nelson Reilly
4. Elayne Joyce
5. Richard Dawson
6. Betty White
Transplanted from a Poodle. Wanna bet that was Betty’s answer?
Super bowl? or Sugar bowl?
Bonnie got a really poor second round question with many possible good answers
Punch bowl?
A large bowl, usually made of glass, that punch is served in. It's typically used for parties.
A suburb of Sydney Australia also
RIP Betty white, you are going to be seriously missed by many.
Especially animal advocates.
Maybe even cheat a bit for her
I wish Richard and Gene would stop WAFFLING on...
Lol
Lynn Rayburn is s drunk
Who is Lynn Rayburn?
Oh no
Did Brett really need to mention Phyliss Dillers face-lift? No. She just could of said, "She looks marvelous!"❤
Saying negative things
Brett represents everything horrible about humans. Always has to be under the spotlight. She is so insecure. I don't know how she could be married.
I was wondering the same thing about you.
That's a lil harsh. She's dead and gone let her rest in peace please.
Elaine was always playing with her hair. Wonder what that was all about, to get attention?
I hear that when women play with their hair like Eliane Joyce it means that they are sexually frustrated. Lol
Debora Gustin she’s being flirtatious
She’s teasing her husband behind her.
A lot of women touch their hair, twirl their hair, flip their hair, etc. You're a woman, and you need an explanation? It can be to flirt; it can be a nervous tic; it can be boredom in between answers. She may not realize she is doing it.
Gene loves it when Elaine plays with her hair & giggles .for whatever reason she does them, it gets his attention. LOL
