- Our range of Ampworx high-gain preamp pedals celebrates the rich legacy of guitar-driven rock. From classic rock tones to thunderous low-end punches, we’re proud to present three exceptional beasts that capture the essence of three iconic amps.
Using our Ampworx component-based modelling technology, we meticulously replicated the unmistakable guitar tone of three amps in three separate compact stomp boxes. The overall idea is simple: One amp, one pedal. In short, we wanted to perfectly unite accuracy and simplicity!
One thing is the amp, but as you know, the cab speaker also plays a crucial role in any combo, half-stack or full rig. Thanks to the advancements in convolution-based IR technology, we can now capture the essence of the past with exceptional precision and authenticity. So, we joined forces with the speaker expert that’s supplied countless iconic cab speakers: Celestion. And after a thorough evaluation, we carefully picked the perfect Celestion speaker cab IR for each pedal.
But while we’re at it, why not add a few bells and whistles? Enhancing the guitar-playing experience without compromising the tone and vibe of the original amps? Well, we added a few ingenious additions to each of the pedals that will enhance your experience by offering the best from the original amps alongside modern and requested features.
Buckle up and prepare for a sonic journey honouring the past while paving the ground for new high-gain horizons!

Post malone sounds great with that les paul 🤘
I got my v550 ALREADY and that’s my main preamp for live and recording, these are a true beast!!!
Is there anyway I could add delay from another pedal when using the headphone output?
Anything coming for bass? :D Spectradrive was a really rad concept. But honestly something dedicated to just being a BDDI or SVT inspired pre-amp more comparable to these for guitar would be super sick.
Can these pedals be used in the input of an amplifier in case an FX loop does not exist?
XOXO
Mooer did this long ago. I hope these sound better. I'd love a plethora of ampworx
Mooer is far from the originator of this style of pedal/preamp. Tech 21 is probably the progenitor of this sort of thing with their SansAmp Character series that launched in back in 2008, which itself was an evolution of the original SansAmp from 1989.
The Mooer Micro Preamps are fun, but also pretty hit or miss across the range. Their cabsims are mediocre, and the tone adjustments are essentially just digital EQ cuts/boosts rather than an integrated tonestack.
From just the examples, the Ampworx models are sounding much closer to what I would expect the amps they're based on to sound like.
