Yeah it’s nice. When I started out on Demolition many years back I had it nicely organized. Then I realized the the toss and go tool bag was the more practical way to go. Time is money. Grab and go.
Also gotta rake into account that foam makes it more obvious when a tool goes walkies
I work out of bags everyday and its a challenge to keep the bag organized. I like the organization this provides but I carry way more than 25 tools in my bag. Also, working out of a box that has layers is a pain. I really like the product though.
Feto bags are really nice. But they don't come cheap
Thanks for sharing your thoughts! Pluses and minuses really isn't it? I suppose it depends on the job and set of tools in question!
"Having all your tools thrown in a bag is just a nightmare" is something a late night infomercial would say. Shadow foam is good stuff, so are the toughsystem boxes, but for a lot of jobs open top totes are far faster, as long as you keep everything where it belongs. Having to open and close, stack and unstack the boxes every time you need to move is a giant time suck. Carrying multiple boxes connected to each other is far more bulky than even the largest totes, my Veto XXL pro pac carries everything in this video and has a nice cushy strap.
What I’m starting to do is have a smaller bag that holds only the tools I need for a specific project. Collect stuff from the various storage bins and then keep them in an open bag like the one he had. I can throw a tool back into the bag instead of leaving it on the ground.
Totally understand your point of view mate, I'd say it depends on the job and transport system you have to hand!
Think I seen this similar for foam. Filler just had rip out points a lot safer to use.
Shadow Foam is very safe and easy to peel, just need your safety glove on when using the scalpel!
I'm just starting with the Toughsystem and though this would be a good first case. What depth foam did you use in this video?
Another great video can't stop watching these videos just amazing how simple and effortless you cut and make this stuff
Thanks Paul, appreciate the kind words! 🙏
@@ShadowFoam one day in near future I'm going to order some and give it a try it's just finding the time
For the box that I put two layers in, I glued the top layer of shadowfoam onto a thin layer of plywood as I find it too flimsy with the weight of tools in it. Then easy to add dowels in opposite corners to act as handles. Looks like I missed out on the smoothing spinners and the irons are out of stock now as well!!
That's a great idea mate! Definitely something I'll be reccomending to others! 👍
Have you thought about making foam where the coloured section is made from the recycled shredded foam you have from offcuts?
Hmm... 🤔
Or you could keep them and glue them back in to reuse for another tool at a later date..........
What cutting tool would you suggest I use to cut shadow foam on my cnc machine?
We'll be doing a video about cutting foam on the laser soon, so stay tuned for our findings!
Still can’t help but watch these videos! Just something else! Would love to do this with my 2.0 rolling boxes! Currently have to trays with shadow foam in them but have no idea how to organise the rest of the tools! Guess I’ll watch some more videos for inspiration! Keep it up mate!
Thanks Adam! Any projects you'd like to see me tackle specifically?
@@ShadowFoam I think you cover pretty much all basis to be honest! Keep doing what your doing I’ll get there eventually 😂
@@adamstone4905 give me a shout if you need anything to help mate
Do you have foam insert for the new Dewalt battery charge box. It’s half size 2.0.
No we don;t but you could make one yourself with one of our inserts
Did DeWalt fix/redesign the tabs that hold the lids on these things open snapping off?
Might be worth contacting Dewalt but I've not had that issue with the Toughsystem 2.0!
Just wondering if you have an idea for the 22 inch DeWalt bag
It's actually a video we have coming up soon! 👌
I still prefer Milwaukee drawer system. It’s way smarter than the old school system
DeWalt toughsystem product managers are completely clueless. DeWalt could have an absolute killer product with a proper 1, 2 & 3 drawer box system (with handle 🙈) and shadowfoam inlays
@@mattsalive7614 I’m not sure where you guys live. But, here in the States, they have a two draw 2.0 draw system option.
@@garycasper2929 the 2 drawer is available in my country, but they removed the top handle (v2) for reasons I don’t understand. Also they cancelled the 3 drawer option. Their product line is just confusing and unreliable; I want to know that I buy into something sustainable and mature like the Packout system. Willing to spend money but their products just aren’t there yet. Contemplating packout but I prefer the looks of dewalt personally
have you guys seen our Milwaukee packout system video? - ua-cam.com/video/vuujOTqxIqU/v-deo.html
And just wondering where it is you get your matching foam
We get all of our foam from www.shadowfoam.com
If you were to use the narrow depth trays with foam would you still get two layers in the small storage box?
I don’t see why not
@@ShadowFoam the reason I ask, I wasn’t sure wether two shallow trays with foam would fit on top of each other in the small box, but it might make it easier to remove the trays to get at tools rather than just have two layers of foam without the trays..
Im a bit of a bag/case whore.Every year or so I buy another what seems to be the perfect option only to get disappointed by it a few months down the line.
I buy Dewalt power tools, and have been looking at the TStAK range, looking at how you cut in the screwdrivers into the foam has impressed me enough to give it a try................
Home Alone!
Classic film! Home Alone 2 is mega underrated too!
Why didnt you have the drills face each other? You would have more untouched space between them to do something else with
I like to keep the labels on top, but great point!
Damn I love your stuff and was about to place an order, but when the shipping was so pricey, I had to say no. Damn shame.
Hi Jarvis, drop an email to my team at hello@shadowfoam.com and we'll see what we can do to help!
@@ShadowFoam I appreciate you saying that, 112 pounds for shipping to Canada is surely understandable. I could ask for special treatment.
Still never replied to my complaint email I sent weeks ago.
Hi James, what address did you send that to?
@@ShadowFoam hello@shadowfoam
Yes it's neater and easier to carry and I really like it , makes it easier for thieves to steal everything all at once. 😒
I'd argue the toolbar is easier to steal, as it's lighter and easier to swipe 😅
@@ShadowFoam you try carrying 7 tool bags, then try robbing 7 dewalt stack systems i know which one is easier as I've had them robbed off van, don't get me wrong I love the stack system but thieves love them, 😕
