Amazing video work and you are a natural presenter! Thanks for the mention, drawer systems are amazing, cannot recommend enough, the biggest influence for me was if I could fit my power tools into them and the longer drawers of the DeWalt worked out best!
Foam youtuber expert, you are amazing. Your foam work is a beauty. When i grow up, I'll make the time to be as amazing as you to organize my tools like your video
I haven't got mine organised in foam yet but even just switching to the three drawer packout has made my work so much more efficient, I'm not diggin through a crate full of hand tools to find what I need and I can see all the tools I have easily. The locking handle is brilliant for transport as well, don't have to worry about them coming open while driving round
The DeWalt System is pretty good and like you said is a bit more cost effective, but I do prefer the Packout, for the different options that are available both from Milwaukee and third party accessories. I did look at the Makita Makpac drawers, but they just don't seem to be as well built or as robust, might be a good option for you as a comparison to these drawers though.
Have toughsystem ,bought my daughter a packout which I prefer. I am going upgrade next summer to full drawer toughbuilt. Looking forward to full drawer system. I hope shadow foam does inserts for the toughbuilt.
Would be interesting to see a comparison and what your thoughts are for best sized drawers for hand tools. Tough 2 drawer, 3 drawer and Packout 4 drawer. Not seen much on individual drawer sizes but the 2 drawers look too deep for hand tools but nothing really showing them side by side.
Einhell. Love your videos my friend, always great to see. Bought the DeWalt stak based on your reviews!!! I've been slowly gathering Einhell 18v tools, firstly from wicks and then other stores started stocking, all brushless as well which is a bonus. Power and durability is there Also reference an old video it's Tooth haha Hi from sunny Cardiff!
Hi mate, thanks for the comment! Hope you are not regretting the DeWalt purchase! Have a few Einhells but would you reccomend I check out more of them to add to my collectiom?
@@ShadowFoam definitely not regretting DeWalt there amazing boxes very strong and the stak feature. Oh definitely... So the algorithm sent me this video in my feed. Gave it a full look and say cool. But the reason it sent it to me is because I commented once "I don't get foam", when I saw a tool review and it came with foam. Commentors were saying "I can't wait for X?X brand to bring out more"! Yes totally organized, and maybe for a shop tool box makes sense, possibly, but honestly, all that lost space I'd rather have more tools, JIC, especially if it's a pack out. I know everyone has a story about rebuilding a trans, rear-end or something on the side of the road with a multi-tool, but I did pull the TC from a jeep Cherokee in a bone yard with my 16x8x7 Craftsman Tool box. It's heavy could have 30 pounds full of tools. The only tool not in the box was a 30" breaker bar. I bet neither of these comes close to that in terms of weight, yet look a the room they take up? Want to add a second "spanner" just toss it in, yet now you have this pretty foam thingy what are you going to do? Lay it all out again? I'm just not a fan I guess. I get it, I do, I just don't get it. If I was a mobile mechanic/ service guy, whatever outside of our plant/shop, it'll be nice to see if any tool was left some where with just a glance, and that could you save you, but pick up when your done and make sure you didn't leave that pry bar on the intake after tightening a belt... Nice video and nice looking products... I could see this for many more applications, but just not for tools...
Great comment here and I can certainly see what you are saying! I would say it’s application as a visual way of seeing if you are missing a tool is a great use of our product, but also the time saving aspect of seeing all your tools at once, not having to search through the box, which can also help de-stress you on the worksite or job! Completely get where you are coming from though, it’s not for everyone, but for certain people, you can see why they’d rave 👍
Very nice set up, But I really struggle when people have such a mix of tool brands, I’m an electrician, I use three main brands of tools. Power tools are Milwaukee Cutters are always Knipex Everything else is Wera. I do have a few other brands i use but they are not mixed up with the rest, like my hammers are Estwing. All the odd branded tools are put away in a packout crate in my van, all neat and tidy,
Be sure to check the smoothness of the ratchets before buying. I purchased the DeWalt 192 piece socket set (which thankfully was all 6 point sockets) a few years back and I noticed the quarter inch drive ratchet didn't spin very smooth. The store let me search through three other sets to find a decent ratchet but they were all pretty crappy also.
I'm using Milwaukee Packout there are working great, tools, nuts and bolt has it place when we go to the race track. I'm planning to replace my metal tool box with Packout drawers with inserts.
You didn't mention that dewalt is water resistant. Milwaukee is not. Left a milwaukee box out in light rain, drawers were filled. Sold them went dewalt only.
I thought about changing to ridgid but like packout not weather protection for drawers so i decided to stick with toughsystem and bought drawers on sale and dont regret it
My foam order came earlier today, looking forward to sorting out my Tough System 2.0. I have a full set of Klein insulated tools, and a set of ordinary Klein multi bit drivers 11 in 1, 4 in 1 stubby and 4 in 1 precision which have proven to be questionable. Some broke ( note to self - precision drivers are not pry bars 🤣 ) some I lost and some rusted. To replace the bits was as much as a new driver ????? so I'm looking for a replacement brand, those Milwaukee drivers look nice, but I'm akso looking at Wera, Armeg and Wiha. I recently bought some Milwaukee hollow nut spinners, they are outstanding and thats why I was interested in the set you used...............
The fact that dewalt drawers are ip65 rated is an automatic win for me and why i went that route even though i been in their system for almost 10 years now
i wonder if anyone would creat an adaptor for these. I would love to have the Dewalt Drawer on bottom with powertools and the Milwaukee on top with sockets and wrenches. I know its not do-able but i think the sizing of the draws would be perfect for my needs.
Packout system is far superior, like you say, though there is a big price difference between the too, the new toughbuilt looks like it could be a good alternative, though
Hi, I’m a relatively new subscriber and love the clean look the foam has where is the best place to buy ? Yes but have you tried foam inserts in rheumatoid arthritis dewalt and Milwaukee rolling tool chests yet they look like a lot of tools can fit in saving loads of boxes
Peli 0450 🤣 because I'm a glutton for financial punishment. But I've foamed the cantilever Stanley fatmax with a double deep layer of foam in the bottom for a nice cheap 3 level box with all your tools visible at the same time.
Even if the Milwaukee have that metal rods blocking the drawers, the lock hole on top is plastic only. Why? Why didn't they put metal rings in it? A simple cutter and bye-bye security.
I agree that the DeWalt hand tools are a bit on the useless side. The thing about DeWalt hand tools is they are simply rebranded Stanley hand tools and nothing more. Yes, I know, I know. Stanley hand tools used to be decent tools. But once they started making them in China, their quality tanked. So, SBD decided to stamp DeWalt on them and raise the price just a bit more. Foam inserts don’t work for me. I’m a millwright and pack lots of tools to the work area plus there are lots of emergencies so as long as wrenches end up in the wrench drawer, screwdrivers in the screwdriver drawer, I’m good
I think Milwaukee wins with me. It’s a little more hefty and has the aluminum corners to protect from impact. With dewalt you have a big chance of snapping the lever off when you open and close the drawer. Milwaukee is superior to that because they have the locking bar a very simple but strong way of holding the drawer shut during transportation. Only drawback with Milwaukee is that you sacrifice drawer space so those longer tools will not fit
I cut some of the Milwaukee foam that comes with their top boxes and that was a nightmare. We have another brand here in Canada that starts with a K. That is the brand I am going with next. I can not afford to buy shadow foam and have it shipped to Canada. That way is way to expensive. If I could get shadow foam at the same price as the K brand here in Canada I would love to give it a go, but that is not possible so sorry shadow foam.
These are great and all, but for me, since I am from canada the price for shipping alone is almost as much as the product itself so it isn't really worth it to me
Yes. My angle grinder stopped working and gave a shortcut in my house. I’ve had the grinder for about 8 months but Bosch didn’t give me any warranty. So I decided to replace my power tools to a different brand when they need to be replaced. Ended up choosing between Milwaukee and DeWalt and choose DeWalt because of a more affordable price since I’m not a professional.
well both of these have been left gathering dust because milwalkee just refuse to update theirs and are still using the exact same design as the originals and they just arent as robust as some other brands, Dewalt have updated their Tstak system to 2.0 but that still leaves a lot to be desired, other brands like Klein and Toughbuilt, even Flex are all better than these options and im sure the new makita ones coming very soon will be better too. The only thing going for milwalkee is their extensive range of accessories, which nobody should be buying toolboxes just for their accessory range. I have bought Many boxes, bags and systems over the years and they all fall to bits in a few months. Finally now we are starting to get more heavy duty options, with the functionallity of the likes of milwalkee. I wuld honestly go with milwalkee if it wasnt for them being made from inferior plastics and so flimsy. They work fine for diyers or if they stay in a workshop, but drag them round sites for a few months and they can go in the skip. One big thing to watch for is all these brands are now going the drawer route for easier access, but the drawers dont last long because most of the drawer runners and/or plastic just arent strong enough.
@@ShadowFoam I certainly have and loved it! The Halfords video was enough to persuade me to buy the 2 piece foam insert for the H/A tool box. My Advanced 100 piece socket set, Advanced 16 piece ratchet spanners and a few other H/A bits all fit in nicely ( all the H/A tools are in 1 box now as a pose to 3 different boxes/ trays) A few more tools need organising, so I'm tempted to buy another H/A tool box and the foam inserts and do another layout for the last of the hand tools. Shadow foam had transformed my messy/ cluttered workshop into a more organised one
@ShadowFoam I think dewalt was the first good tool brand I used. I'm talking like 25 years ago and I just stuck with them. I've heard lots of good about Milwaukee but never used one. Once you invest into a brand it cost alot to change over. Changing batteries and things.
Yeah Won a set of power tools and gone from there hopefully get a pack out one day. This video was a good help too show what you can fit in the 4 draw.
@@ShadowFoam it all started with a friend getting a Dewalt drill and impact set, it looked a good setup and it was all I needed to start my collection of Dewalt tools and tool boxes. And now I have watched a few of your videos it’s time to get the foam and do my own boxes. Cracking videos.

These are great and all, but for me, since I am from canada the price for shipping alone is almost as much as the product itself so it isn't really worth it to me
We are working on Canadian distribution! 👍
That's great, when that happens I'll for sure be ordering but until then I'll hold off due to the price of shipping
I love All tools 🎉🎉
What are your favourite tools?
Bro both are good butt I like Milwaukee tools ❤
DeWalt but I wish they had more stuff
What would you like them to have?
Bosch and Milwaukee
How come?
Milwaukee, hands down
Do you have any Milwaukee?
Just switched from Bosch to DeWalt.
Any reason why?
The DeWalt just has a much smaller foot print than the Milwaukee. And foot print is a very big deal if you have to load a van up.
Very very interesting point!
Milwaukee for power tools and Halfords Advanced for hand tools
Have you seen our Halfords video?
@@ShadowFoam I certainly have and loved it! The Halfords video was enough to persuade me to buy the 2 piece foam insert for the H/A tool box. My Advanced 100 piece socket set, Advanced 16 piece ratchet spanners and a few other H/A bits all fit in nicely ( all the H/A tools are in 1 box now as a pose to 3 different boxes/ trays)
A few more tools need organising, so I'm tempted to buy another H/A tool box and the foam inserts and do another layout for the last of the hand tools. Shadow foam had transformed my messy/ cluttered workshop into a more organised one
I need a drill what the best one to get for ever day jobs around the house
Whichever one suits your budget! Check out my latest video for some buying tips!
I've owned all different brands of tools over the years but most of my main tools are dewalt
How come?
@ShadowFoam I think dewalt was the first good tool brand I used. I'm talking like 25 years ago and I just stuck with them. I've heard lots of good about Milwaukee but never used one. Once you invest into a brand it cost alot to change over. Changing batteries and things.
Milwaukee for Me 🛑
Always had Milwaukee?
Yeah Won a set of power tools and gone from there hopefully get a pack out one day. This video was a good help too show what you can fit in the 4 draw.
Milwaukee all day
Got any packouts?
I use Makita, but would much rather Milwaukee
Why?
Snap-on 😎
We'll be covering Snap On soon, watch this space!
For me it has to be Bosch
Which Bosch box?
Dewalt here
How come?
@@ShadowFoam it all started with a friend getting a Dewalt drill and impact set, it looked a good setup and it was all I needed to start my collection of Dewalt tools and tool boxes. And now I have watched a few of your videos it’s time to get the foam and do my own boxes. Cracking videos.
Definitly Milwaukee
Have you got Packout?
In america it is just as silly not to have 19 mm or 10mm. heck just for my trucki have a ford and you cant touch it without 8,10 and 19
Didn't know that! Thanks for filling us in!
Festool ❤

Great choice, do you have Milwaukee?
Stanley fatmax v20 and Milwaukee m12
