I used two layers of foam in some of my Milwaukee Packout drawers. I usually glue the top layer onto a thin piece of plywood to add some rigidity to the foam. A lot of those metric spanners are equivalents to standard metric sizes i.e 11mm is same as 7/16". They are pretty common sizes in hydraulic and pneumatic fittings and 11mm fits those pesky m6 square nuts as well.
Might be cursing but i’m filling my new dewalt toughsystem with bosch professional power tools. Might be getting some shadowfoam in the future to make it fit nice. Now waiting for the 2 and 3 drawer box to come in, i think the inserts you made are perfect for a 3 drawer system which are less deep so no double layers. Not really practical imho, but i love the organization you did there.
I just cancelled an order for a 4 box tstak and ordered this 2 drawer toughsystem box. One drawer for two chargers an an assortment of DeWalt batteries. I need to fit a 4 DeWalt cordless tools in the second drawer: A drill Impact driver Heat gun And a random orbital sander Any thoughts on how to get those 4 tools in one drawer?
If the tools are already organized in a case there's no reason to add expense and actually lose room by putting them in foam trays in a tough system....
I won't never stop to say that I hate double layer foam. Its a continuous in-out. I have to work, not have s...x with a tool drawer. It's not what i call grab and go. Sorry can't like it. I rather get a purpose made toolbag as backpack and put in the drawers the portable battery tools.
@@ShadowFoam I have indeed. And i couldn't love them too. My opinion is in the backpack i must keep the edc (i have a veto pro pac bag) and in the tstak i keep my cordless tools. I no need foam for the veto bag. I just would use foam for the tstak l. I think it is good because it saves space. In one box i can keep both the drill, the driver and batteries. In the original tstack there are precut inserts and i can keep so much things in it. Its just a matter of organization. Veto has hos own pouches so there is no need to insert foam. Consider all of this as an opinion and sorry i come from Italy i don't speak a good English.
@@ShadowFoam i have seen also the wall framed inserts. This ones look cool, not so much compact as a pegboard but better organized for sure, and they have an amazing look. My only concern is keeping them clean because i love to have dirty hands...
Always love the DeWalt projects! Keep it up Jona!
Thanks, will do!
The sockets etc were supplied in a well organised case. Now we r moving them into a new case!!!
Doesn't make any sense, does it?
3:22.. they stand up well.. I have the old Stanley set with the same coating from ~10years ago.. still used and still coated..
Glad and relieved to hear that! 😇
2:42 -You could just pull the hinge pins and put top in top one drawer and bottom in the other. 🙂

Thanks for sharing!
I actually needed an 11mm spanner on Wednesday at work to fix a display shed. First time I’ve ever used 11mm
Trade you ours for a Jerry can
you can never find a 10mm when you need one. i think you need a drawer just for them
Preaching to the choir D
@@ShadowFoam wait until the 10mm meets its U.S cousin the 3/8 inch lol
Then you’d lose a whole drawer
Fascinating! Great job! Love it!!!
Thank you! Cheers!
Got a 2 and 3 draw one, never thought about putting trays in the deeper 2 draw one.
Neither did I until I put this video together tbf
Great video and makes me realise that there is a lot more I need to sort out in my workshop
You can do it!
Is there no way of getting the foam pre cut for that exact layout for the dewalt draws ?
there are size markings for the sockets all around the edge of the factory packaging
There is indeed, good eyes sir 👀
i would like to see the Halfords vid keep up the good work.
Any Halfords set in particular?

Thanks mate, let me know how your project works out, I’d love to see it! 👍
Love to see you do Halfords 180 piece tool kit.
Another great video, and it’s reminded me I still need to build some under worktop draws for my none dremel Hand tools.
Would love to see you do that Mark 👍

Never would I design a system with stacked foam inserts… need a four drawer system.
You should get one of the Halfords maintenance kits, I'd like to see how you'd improve the layout
Got a link for that?
Ideal for diy handymen whose space is a premium
The Halfords Advanced sets has to be one of the best tool range for price than any other tool set , lifetime warranty how can you go wrong
I've got an old Halfords set it's great
How many tools are in that set?
Around 110 added bits and lost bits
Wow, that'll be perfect to organise!
Yes
@@ShadowFoam ❤
I’d like it if I could get those foams ready cut for that setup so I can just put the same bits In it
We're do I get the foam pls amazing system
You should do SAE and Metric wrenches in a Milwaukee packout.
Stay tuned, we’ve got packout videos on the way!
Would love to see you do a handtool one in a milwaukee packout case?
It's on the list! 🙏
Is there a way to buy an exact copy of what you did here . I don’t have the skills to cut them myself. Would be happy to pay for your labor.
Drop an email to hello@shadowfoam.com and my team will put a quote together for you
Will do
Sounds like amazing service keep it up
Ive just got this drawer unit. Do the drawer inserts come as a pack of two?
www.shadowfoam.com/dewalt-foam-inserts/ - they are available as a twin pack yes
@@ShadowFoam just ordered!
Would like to see the Halfords toolbox out into this system
And DeWalt now have a 3 shallower drawer unit
shall definitely be covering the 3 shallow drawer unit
Great video I have always loved dewalt and uae them every day to run my business
What is your business?
Definitely would glue 9mm mdf or similar to the top layer of foam.
For protection?
@@ShadowFoam no underneath the top layer that is been used as a lift out tray to make it more rigid.
Have that socket set. Garbage the drivers break too easily under load
did you also get it from Costco?
Yes lol Costco on offer
it would be awesome if they came precut

Easy on clear headed logic there tiger! This is the internet where we do stupid stuff for likes and views.
I believe we mentioned a few positives to doing this in the video, have you watched it?
Not even DeWalt could find the 10mm xD
😂😂😂 proper got me that has
Could you send this product to Japan?
All shipping details available at www.shadow foam.com
thanks!
I ordered!
What's your project going to be?
$40 foot two!
I carry way too many tools to have all that foam taking up so much space.
It's a shame DeWalt didn't put a locking system on this box.
I know right, I mentioned that in a head to head discussion video discussion with DeWalt and the Milwaukee Packout
A spanner is not the correct term, as those are used to open u.s. style fire hydrants
it's what they are labelled as here in the UK
Can I have some free stuff? Pretty pleaseeeeeeeeeee 💙🤙🕺
Hahaha what would you like?

Halford tools are crap, you need life time warranty to replace the ones that break, I use Kennady sockets and never broke
How long have you had your Kennedy sockets for?
15mm is common in tap spindles
