- this is one of those tofu dishes I make almost on a weekly basis. These are simply pan-fried pieces of tofu cooked down in a savoury, somewhat spicy (gochugaru is a bright red but is actually not as spicy as it looks), and slightly sweet. ◡̈

always best to freeze your tofu overnight or at least for a few hours till solid. then put in your refrigerator to thaw. squeeze out all the water quickly, then has a meat like texture
Ingredients for sauce
1/2 cup water
2 tbsp rice vinegar
1/4 cup soy sauce
3 tsp sugar adjust to taste
1.5tbsp gochugaru
2tsp sesame seed oil
2 cloves garlic
scallions
1tbsp mirin (optional)

gonna make this for DATE NIGHT, substituting maple syrup for sugar, and omitting the mirin. Gonna also cook some onions and peppers with it and garnishing it with cilantro. Wish me luck

Can I use gochujang ?
Yes should be good too! You can lessen the soy sauce first since some gochujang is already salted. Then you can just adjust the sauce to your taste. Hope this helps!
