If I was single … I’d be buying that Fanatec DD2 for almost 1/2 off… insane … oh and I’d get like 3 rims and the pedals. Yea, id go broke real quick. 🤣 great info, sir!
I can't blame you Moren! The deal on the DD2 is a really good one. That is over 50% off the original retail price. I paid $1766.00 for my DD1 back in 2020 and it has been amazing. I have seen prices go low before but that DD2 deal is serious. I am sure that wheel base can work on Playstation with the correct Playstation compatible steering wheel mounted up.
Thanks for the great guide. This is exactly what people lost with all the options need. And Happy Thanksgiving everyone, i hope to see some of you on the virtual track soon.
Thank you! I appreciate the kind comment David! I have been asked so many questions about wheels and rigs the past few months, I decided there must be a demand for a GT specific video like this one. There is a lot to discuss on this topic, & I could not touch on everything… but I am glad this upload is doing well today. I tried my best to stick to the point.
Great video! One point, I *think* that the G Pro wheel doesn't come with the pedals, so that'll be another $350 (?) on to your rig price. But love the style. Keep it up!
Thank you John! I appreciate the thoughtful comment! I will add a pinned comment making that detail clear. I will also mention that today I was able to confirm the Pro Pedals from Logitech can indeed work with older Logitech wheels, like the G29. An adapter is required but it works!
Thank you Zanychelly! I tried to share my honest experience and anecdotal knowledge from all of my GT community friends. Thank you for the support in my stream yesterday!!! 🏁🏁🏁
I hope the video can help some people make up their mind with confidence. Spending $3000 on my wheel and rig was one of the most anxious moments of my adult life. I was broke at the time, but still knew these pieces of equipment are worth the money. Like I said, I have no regrets.
Great informative video. Just got into sim racing and have fallen in love. I own a G29 and now regret my impulsive Christmas purchase at Best buy. I wish i could have invested that money into something more intermediate. My question is, is it possible to connect The Fanatec Clubsport V3 pedals with the G29? If not, is there anything you would recommend? I'll have to wait on direct drive wheel but would like my braking and throttle to improve.
@@vincecfm3240 hey Vince! Thank you for checking out the video! Having good pedals can make a very big difference. I used logitech as my first setup too. There are older videos from when I upgraded and unboxed all the fanatec gear If you own a Logitech wheel already, I would suggest you go for the Logitech G Pro pedals, which can work on a G29 with a logitech proprietary adapter The pro pedals are a major step up from the stock g29 pedals & if you upgrade to the Logitech Direct Drive GPro wheel (which will go on sale soon) the pro pedals will still work. If you really want V3 pedals, I actually used a Logitech G27 with my V3 pedals before I got my fanatec wheel. I purchased an adapter called the collective minds drive hub, and was able to use my V3’s with logitech for over a year There is also another adapter called the Chronus Max which works in a similar way. You will need to download firmware but then it should all be plug and play
@@vincecfm3240 also want to mention that even though you want to upgrade equipment now, your impulse buy of the Logitech can make a great gift for someone else to learn and discover racing games with. A G29 is a decent, simple wheel that anyone can enjoy using.
Thanks for the response 👍 I definitely went through all your videos to see how you upgraded throughout time. I'm learning like in all things.. no one acquires the best tech and upgrades on day one. I'm shocked at what the markets like in the Sim racing world since joining! I understand why you suggested the G Pro pedals, mainly due to using foresight and the possibility of a DD wheel upgrade. Maybe you can help me with this... I'm a bit sold out on how you mentioned that The V3 pedals have vibration and more metal components, which is more of an anesthetic apeal for me 😅 Would it be worth it to go with The V3? The G Pro looks a bit plasticy in my opinion You're right about my G29, to be honest it does the job, I think I'm just trying to convince myself that I NEED and entirely new upgrade.. but the more I challenge my lap times the more i see that I'm okay for now. It's mainly me wanting to improve my footwork. Thanks again You're advice it greatly appreciated By the way.. great job on the Nürburgring tracks these past 2 days.. you had me on the edge with your Tyre selections and fuel decisions.. it's teaching me to trust the process 😅 my wife told me to keep it down a few times!
Thank you for the comment Mike! The Fanatec V3 pedal bundle is only $100 more than the V2 right now. I have owned my V3s for over 6 years. They still vibrate and work like new.
Hey thanks for making this video. I bought the GT DD Pro bundle over the summer but was looking into upgrading the pedals. I was looking at the V2s but after what you said I’m holding back. The V3s are out of my price range. Would I be ok just buying the load cell kit that’s currently $139?
I have the CSL LC pedal set. I did the Ebay spring mod on the accelerator, and I did an elastomer mod on the LC itself. I'd say you're 80% of the V3s with that setup, at least when it comes to pedal feel, for a lot less money. Of course looks, and fit and finish are way higher with the V3s. Mind you the full V3 kit just went on sale...
Some other info on the V3 is they come with an extra, stiffer throttle spring. With the stiffer spring installed for the throttle + the brake performance kit, the V3’s have no equal on console. Remember, they vibrate as well. They can also work with other wheels if you plug them in vis usb instead of the RJ 12 cable. I once used my V3s with my logitech g27 for over a year in 2019
What are you considering buying Jeff? Buying only a wheel/pedals & mounting up to a desk would be the cheapest way to get started. A desk and TV can complete the setup. I wouldn’t recommend any of the $200-$500 range wheels. They just aren’t worth the money. Get a DD Pro or the New CSL + from Fanatec that comes out on December 19th!
@@GroveStreetRacing5 well I have ps5 I’m not moving pc for wheel but I’m fast on controller but getting wheels may be fun but also hassle too and hard to pick from
@@JeffWeselyan I get what you mean about being fast on the controller. I was talking to my GSR friends about this exact topic last night! I was asking people who recently bought wheels directly, if they were faster now than they were on the controller. Surprisingly some of them replied they were still not as fast & that the transition from controller to the wheel can be stressful. I know from experience that catching slides and counter steering with the wheel for the first time takes practice. That is something people universally complain about when they are first starting with a wheel. Buying a wheel does not immediately mean you will be faster on track, but you will learn a lot more & you will have the full racing experience. Driving skill developed in GT7 can be applied directly to driving a real car.
I hope my video makes it easier to choose the right equipment. Everything I recommended is built to last and made with the highest quality parts these companies offer. @@JeffWeselyan

You will not be disappointed. The V3’s will last you a lifetime.
Thank you for commenting & letting us know they just went on sale!
Logitech has an adapter for $39.99 that allows mix and match of the old G series and new Pro wheels and pedals. You can even use the old shifter.
I appreciate you taking the time to leave this important comment. I should pin it to the top.

For $139 I think that load cell kit is overpriced. V3’s all day at the on sale price
Seems like black friday is the best time to buy for sure, i'll get a wheel one day lol. Great vid tho
