I don't need more details than necessary to be able to play! Yes, IT IS TRUE that some aesthetics are also needed, but... And anyway, I gave up on that square-like micro-soft game after they released a separate version, NOT TO PLAY, BUT TO ENJOY THE GRAPHICS...! In fact, it was one of the last stakes in my heart that turned me away from almost 60% of the new technologies and I'm only looking for rasters!
I wouldn't have got it if you didn't pause it, but if you are playing a game then the last thing you are concentrating on is the scenery. I think that this obsession with getting better detail is a waste of time and money, no wonder the cost of developing a games has gone through the roof. I would rather they concentrate on the game play, game content, i mean make it look good but please don't go anal on it. Games are meant to be enjoyed not going "oh ain't that pretty" every few seconds. If they want a frame to look pretty then print it off and hang it in the tate modern, let people game ffs. Nintendo Switch - 720p (sometimes) while everyone chases 4K, has amazing experiences PS2 - games you still own, you were spoilt for choice, amazing memories, best selling console ever We just want good games
Nintendo figured this out years ago. Focus on games and collectables. Racing for the best graphics is like charging hundreds of dollars for more detailed glare on your chess pieces and thinking people will get rid of their classic chess set.
Frankly, at this point, being more portable seems more appealing since graphics are diminishing returns. Laptops can already somewhat do raytracing with Mobile RTX Cards, all that's left is to get it into a Steam Deck / Switch form and the graphics race is officially over.
when the oled came out for the switch it cost 50 dollars extra which came with better graphics bigger screen better kickstand and an extra import on the dock I own the tears of the kingdom model and it still worth the money I spend ever since
I just hope they're able to successfully market the switch's successor well and not run into a WiiU 2.0 situation. I'm not saying the switch 2 (or what ever it will be called) needs to sell at the same rate the current one does, but they should at least sell 50-60 million units.
tbf PC gaming at that time wasn't as popular as it is today, consoles dominated the market way more, a lot of companies only released their games on console

You payed for it like a sucker tho. Creating a digital version and creating two choices was a sin, and you idiots payed for it anyway. As for me I still have my PS4.
The thing is. I saw the difference only after you started zooming which isnt indicative of the gameplay experience. You can mostly tell from the sharpness of the grass but you have to be actively looking for it.
Thats the thing. But will we be able to see difference when it will be played casually on our tvs? That upgrade is soooooooo minor... Back when ps4 pro came out we saw huge difference
@@Dav4iksnot really. Most games just want to 1080p to 1440p and the frame rate didn’t even improve. The ps5 pro looks like a much better pro console but it’s still not worth it.
The thing too is that like...all the "blurry" parts were objects in the background. Things irl tend to be blurry the further you go, even for far sighted people they have a limit how far they can see clearly. When playing a game you only need to understand there's something in the background (and you only really need to know that if you're going toward that object/direction in a 3D plane). That guy was right it's the definition of diminishing returns, there's no use for "some things in the background are slightly less blurry than 4 years ago" 💀
@Dav4iks I'm not advocating for the pro because it's too expensive, but as far as texture clarity goes, you will absolutely be able to tell the difference locally on your tv, much more so than a video on UA-cam because of bit rate. It will also be a drastic difference if you're playing on a 4k TV because the image isn't stretched out nearly as far if the game is playing at higher resolutions. 1080p looks worse on a large 4k tv than it does on smaller 1080p TV. The jump to 4k from 1080p is massive.
Refresh rate is not just important because of smoother gameplay, but even more so because of decrease in input lag, which is a pretty big deal, especially when we talk about 60hz and above.

They even made a ps1 mini some years ago, it run a modified build of a open source emulator instead of sony doing their own thing, they could totaly put a disk drive in it to simply let people play their older disks, but it was only a emulator with controllers that comes with some games pre-installed and no way to oficially put more games in.
Yeah no. If they truly wanted to optimize for a quieter fan in a smaller case you wouldn't get a single fps more. That's just not on the table, because the hardware isn't improving that fast.
ps5 console price is upfront, but you have to pay for online: $80/135/160 per year. the biggest mistake that people make when talking about PC building is this: you can't say "build a PC with same performance and price as ps5 pro". that's not how it actually works. ps5 and PC don't have the same value. PC has free online, play Xbox games, Sony games, emulate Switch games, mods for games, high fps, in depth graphic settings, native 1440p/4K resolution(ps5 pro is upscaled), etc. can ps5 pro do these? no. then how its value is the same as PC that can? it's not. even if you spend $2,000 to build a PC, it's worth every cent you will pay.
Amen!! Yes the entry price is steeper? But in the long run? You get much more value just for not having to pay for service that are mandatory on consoles. PC's generate value. They also can play retro games, modern games, and anything in between with the right setup. The best idea for the modern PS5 Pro? Would have been the PS3's "Alternate language" option that allowed you to run Linux. ALL backwards compatibility natively. Not emulated, nor streamed. That's why the PS3 was so awesome. The 20gb and 60gb launch models could run PS1/2/3 natively with the PS2 Emotion Engine. So if Sony had announced "You can play nearly the entire library of Sony from PS1 to PS5." That alone would have been worth the money! And no I don't mean via their services or streaming. PC now can do virtually all of that and very well. And 800 bones will get you into either a decent new laptop or desktop, or a better "used but upgradeable" rig.

The backwards compatibility on PC really is phenomenal. I remember years ago, back when I was a console gamer, and I'd re-buy all my favorite games with each new console generation. "Okay, I have a PS4 now, so now I need to buy the PS4 versions of GTA 5, COD, etc." But on PC, you only need to buy a game ONCE. And when you upgrade your PC eventually, all you need to do is raise the graphics settings in the game. Boom. Done. Now you're playing an 'upgraded'/'enhanced' version of that game on your new hardware AND you only bought the game once. This is definitely the way to go.
100% agree. I have just entered the pc gaming system from a long period of not gaming (my high school required an insane amount of hours studying I couldn't game) so I missed so much AAA/indie gems from the last ten years like fallout NV and 4, undertale, the witcher 3, dying light, bioshock ecc..., but I also wanted a system capable of letting me play new cool games like elden ring. No console could do that, but the pc not only could, it was by far the cheapest option (with steam sales the witcher 3 was 3€, undertale 2,5€ fallout NV 2,5€ ecc...). Ten AAA old games on pc costs as a single old AAA game on console because of steam sales
Backward compatibility is good till you reach games that were sold before launchers. Plenty of 90ies & early 2000 games have a code that requires to be checked online & most servers are down at this point. Also the era of online only games will be a big slap in the face when companies decide they don't want to keep the server up.
What type of idiot re-buys the same game when they get a new console? I might pick up something like Metroid Prime Remastered every once in awhile but I still own all of my old systems and games. People that sell them only to re-buy their whole catalogue are freaking stupid. I still have my original NES for F sake.
The problem isn't the dislike's the problem is people are still gonna buy it and it's gonna sell out which send's a message to Sony to keep raising the prices because we're idiot's that will buy anything with your logo on it.
That first wave of consoles is very likely going to sell out but there's also the consideration of units produced and allocation. This could be far more calculated than people are giving Sony credit for. I view this as a test run for how much they can try to jack up base PS6 more than anything so I don't think they're going to be too bothered by sales numbers regardless of if they're high or low.
The three biggest selling points for me been a Playstation user for years have always been these: 1. Couch gaming. I play on a big TV with surround sound system from my couch since PS2. 2. Couch Co-Op. Just power on my PS and enjoy Diablo 4 with my wife 3. HDR just works. Always I guess the Steam deck and recent technologies like Nvidia RTX HDR now allow to make a switch. The PS 5 Pro announce has definitely made me dive into the topic once more.
And the worst thing on my ps4 was when I found out about PS+... I bought GTA V, all excited that I can finally play multiplayer, since my PC couldn't even run it, I was able to play for a bit and then, all of a sudden, it said I needed to pay PS+ to play online. I was like WHAT??! Why? Bro, I literally PAID for the game to be able to PLAY Online. I didn't pay for the game so I can do another payment, for something that should have always been free. I was and still am mad about it, but thankfully not long after, EpicGames gave GTA V for free...
Just a reminder, 'Not 60 fps'. There's no hard requirement that these PS5 Pro games have to hit 60 for it to be certified as Pro games. They can't even guarantee 60 fps for £700. Just switch to PC at this point.

Greetings, I don’t game as frequently as I used to, but I must say that this is quite an outrageous thing done by Sony. It reminds me of how I got manipulated by the marketing of the “pro” for the PS4. I feel compelled to share my experience with the PS4 Pro. When I bought it, I was thrilled and believed it was a great decision. However, looking back, it hasn’t performed as well as I expected. It requires frequent software updates and makes a lot of noise, reminiscent of a jet engine. I admire friends and family who opted for the PS4 Slim instead of falling for the "Pro offers a significantly better gaming experience" pitch. Their consoles were more cost-effective, quieter, and just as satisfying. In retrospect, it might be worth considering investing in a decent gaming PC for around $700, which could offer better value and performance.
In way, you did yourself dirty, but also you opened up an option that the 4 launch and 4 Slim can't handle as well: PSVR. Otherwise, I got mine to replace a launch system that died. The extra 5 frames a second is also not a big deal unless you religiously play FPS games, and at the time I was a Destiny nerd.

But now this practice is falling into oblivion as you really can't pass the digital copy around and Sony can charge any money they want for old games.
Why I don't understand if this is such a design overhaul in GPU, why didn't they move on from Zen 2, to at least Zen 3, a gain of at least 20fps. Zen 3+ in fact is already designed for laptops in a low power mode and low heat, perfect for consoles.
The consoles could always handle a decently high wattage anyways. There's more than enough space to fit a decent cooling solution in it. Why they ordered out dated hardware from AMD we'll never know. Maybe they got a huge discount or something. The PS5 PRO really should have been on a more modern architecture it would have been quite a bit more powerful. The 16gb instead of 24gb was also a conflicting decision that's gonna gimp the console in the future for what amounts to a tiny chip cost
I'm betting there was a lot of pushback from developers, in that it would make more work for them just targeting even more SKUs, where as if they kept the same CPU, it helps make their job easier...even though if they ever plan on doing PC ports in the future, they'll have to put in more work than that...
@@vextakes I'm assuming it's to keep costs as low as possible. Don't quote me on this, though. I'm just saying random stuff without any inside knowledge.
The whole thing about 60 FPS is that it's not even guaranteed as they're not upgrading the CPU in the PS5 pro (same zen 2 cores). If you CPU bottleneck and couldn't hit 60 FPS on that console don't think it's going to change with the PS5 pro.
SOME games will be updated "Not all" so unlike a PC GPU upgrade which uplifts ALL GAMES ACROSS THE WHOLE PC. it will be up to the Developers of specific games to even implement these features or performance gains.
@@mitsuhh doesn't matter. Developers are the ones who set the game for its performance not the console's hardware.. Dragon's Dogma 2 is 30fps on Xbox and PS5. Capcom capped the game on console. unless they uncap it.. its never going to be a 60fps game on console Period

Or have a 1440p 165hz monitor and KM on a desk in your living room. And use your 4k TV, on game mode, as a second monitor. That way you can have the best of both. That's what I do anyway. By then, current tech will become cheaper, and that's what sony will use for the same 500-600 usd price. Unless another economic crisis happens, that's what's going to happen.
What people who like physical media don't understand is technically you do not own the game even on disc you own a license key to the software which can be revoked by the publisher or software creator themselves. That is why usually racing video games will go off the market because of either licensing issues with music or with car manufacturers.
They can't revoke a physical license for an offline game. The physical game also retains value and can be sold or traded. Sorry but you're completely wrong.
I'll put it this way: Is it a game or a movie? And that was the foundation back on the PS1!! And now we're talking about a ray tracing console... Can't we just play!? And that's MY MINIMUM REMARK!
Also remember this is demo footage, something game companies are notorious for faking. Watch almost any game trailer before it comes out and compare it to what was actually released, you will almost always see a downgrade. Though in this case I think the big bottle neck will always be what game companies are willing to put the effort into creating PS5 Pro versions of their game worth the purchase. Think back to how few games released a HD or 4k remaster. Or heck even just ported it so that it worked with the VR set ups. All the hardware in the world won't help if the games don't support it.
people are missing the point of the ps5 pro, and comparing it to the ps4 pro is a failure of putting things into context. The original PS4 was an outdated computer by technical means, and the PS4 pro acted as the new baseline for a good gaming expereicne with the PS4 slim being the weak but cheaper version that provides a compromised gaming experience. Today, the base PS5 is STILL a contemporary gaming system able to offer a good gaming experience, while the PS5 pro is shooting for a performance tier that is beyond that. SO the TLDR is, the PS5 is the equivalent to the PS4 Pro, and the PS5 Pro is in a category of its own, and there is no modern equivalent of the base PS4 offered by sony, only the Series S is comparable.
Alan Wake 2 in 864p with no raytracing just to hit 60 FPS is not something I'd call "a category of its own" or "Shooting beyond what a contemporary PC is capable of".
The pro versions were all VERY OBVIOUSLY MORE CRISP. Why is the entire internet lying about this being an improvement. If you built a gaming PC for $750 you would not get this level of power. If you think this is a rip off you are very ignorant of what computer hardware costs. Console gamers are very out of the loop.
I got at least 5/6 right also, so you CAN tell the difference :P really just goes to show how much FSR upscaling will ruin the picture vs native image. I'm going to talk about cars. There's probably 1% of people out there that buy an engine, buy some wheels, buy each part they need separately then buy a car chassis to hold it all and put it all together. They might then finetune their engine to get the best handling ratios for their car. Most of us just buy a ready build car from reputable retailers. It's the same with PC. A handful of us build and tinker. Most people get a prebuilt. Just do the research and ask around. You are probably right
ps5 console price is upfront, but you have to pay for online: $80/135/160 per year.
the biggest mistake that people make when talking about PC building is this: you can't say "build a PC with same performance and price as ps5 pro". that's not how it actually works. ps5 and PC don't have the same value.

It requires frequent software updates and makes a lot of noise, reminiscent of a jet engine. Why I don't understand if this is such a design overhaul in GPU, why didn't they move on from Zen 2, to at least Zen 3, a gain of at least 20fps. Zen 3+ in fact is already designed for laptops in a low power mode and low heat, perfect for consoles.
yeah I think Hogwarts Legacy with RT is still running 30 FPS because of CPU limits. odd decision

Or have a 1440p 165hz monitor and KM on a desk in your living room. And use your 4k TV, on game mode, as a second monitor. That way you can have the best of both. That's what I do anyway. I have steam big picture mode setup so that when I launch it, it displays on my TV instead. It's nice playing with a wireless controller on the couch sometimes.

Interestingly enough, every time he showed the comparison I could tell which one was the pro, but I would always be a foul and spend $800 on a console when you can spend 1,300 to get a mid-tier PC which can do the same graphics but likely at double the performance frame rate
i mean a $700 PC can play PS5 games better than a PS5 already.. having graphics options AT ALL.. means its a superior piece of Hardware
"Fidelity" "Balanced" "Performance" are not graphical options. They're copouts.
If you have to pause and zoom in, I say they have failed.
@@Mr.GenesisYup. You can get a 5600x or 12400 tower for like $250 or less. $60 PSU upgrade and a 4070 and you're WAY better off than ps5 pro for barely any higher price. I have $1100 in my tower with a 4070 TiSuper. PS5 pro is DOA.

I speculate that the pc population is growing over console players.
At that price it would honestly just be smarter to go PC gaming because you can legit get a PC for like $100-$200 more that will be better than the PS5 Pro in every way, hell the used market is really nice right now you could build a better PC than the PS5 Pro for probably the same price if not a little cheaper like this make's me wonder how far SONY will go since they don't have any real competition and how expensive would the PS6 cost.
I think you could do better for the same cost or less, isnt the ps5 pro having the same gpu as an RX 6700? Thats entry level

@@willywonka6487 a Console having only "Fidelity" "Balanced" and "Performance" as ways to change the graphical settings already makes it an inferior product to play games even vs a $500 PC. or a $400 PC with used parts. Having graphics options AT ALL means its a better experience.
@@willywonka6487 no. The base PS5 has the equivalent of 6700. The PS5 Pro is going to have 60 CUs and should be RDNA 3. The GPU with those specs would be the 7800 XT.
If sony goes the same path as previous gen consoles, then after release of ps5 pro, we are at least 2 years away from next gen consoles.
Piracy is a good thing for sure
They can't revoke a physical license for an offline game. The physical game also retains value and can be sold or traded. Sorry but you're completely wrong.
I'll put it this way:
Is it a game or a movie?
And that was the foundation back on the PS1!!
And now we're talking about a ray tracing console...
Can't we just play!?
And that's MY MINIMUM REMARK!
How many wake up calls am I gonna live through
Also remember this is demo footage, something game companies are notorious for faking.
The dislikes are just the sign that its not worth buying a ps5 pro
original PS5 is already not worth it
The pro versions were all VERY OBVIOUSLY MORE CRISP.
I miss the nineties when games shipped on two floppy discs and ran on a CPU without a fan xD you had to do some insane occult optimization wizardry back then to ship a game. PSSR/DLSS is still SHTTR than native
You can just smell that concord at some point was a huge part of sonys PS5 marketing.
I bet they banked on it being a hit so thousands of people want a new PS5 Pro to play it in 60 FPS.

PISSER: truly a fitting name for a console that got everyone hyped up only to let us massively down.
Anyone that was hyped up for that thing was a complete moron. What is the point to it? Seriously. After buying multiple versions of The Last of Us you now are going to spend even more money to make that crappy game look ever so slightly better? Where are the games? I guess people just want to brag that they have the flashiest paper weight in existence.
With how hard ps5 flopped you'd think sony would just skip the pro, or at least price it accordingly

Sony is slowly turning into apple and apparently console gamers are swallowing it whole. disgusting.
As much as i dislike the ps5 pro... the ps5 didnt flop, 55 million sales is alot. Not as much as the switch or the ps2 but its still a successful console.
@@continental_consumer55 million is how many were sold to retailers. That doesn't exactly translate to 55 million people playing on PS5, because that'd be 1/3rd of the install size of PS4, and I honestly don't think 55 million people have upgraded.
@@continental_consumer compare it to the ps4 sold over 107 million. in that comparison it is quite less and disappointing for sony, because the gaming market constantly gets bigger
I could somewhat tell the difference when I get very close to my screen, which I never do when I actually play a game.
PS: If you download your games from steam you can back them up to a separate hard drive or burn them to a disk. You get to keep that version forever.
It's such a joke that they even hired Garth to be the presenter

No mention of GOG and their DRM free games that you can download and are truly your own. Also, emulation.
Exactly, GOG is the answer for digital ownership. much better than phisical as you are not bound by aging support discs. He actually mentions emulation, but in passing, with the usual "I can't really talk about it", when in fact everybody can (plenty of emulation channels and none of them taken down).
