Considering that Penelope was glowing yellow, I am calling it that Zeus was coercing him to choose the crew to die, probably shaped by clouds and moved by lightning. I also would gamble to reason that he did it on purpose to do one of two things: 1) Weigh Odysseus’ conviction to return to his wife’s side. 2) Kill the actual perpetrators of the crime against Apollo/Helios (I forget which), since he’s reeeeally trying to be fair but still looks at Odysseus for being a failure of a captain/king to control his crew. Hence, CHOOSE.

The divine twins just got popular and eventually eclipsed (pun intended) the other two deities. But indeed, Helios was the original god in this particular story, and if I remember correctly, one of his divine daughters lived in the island and tried to stop the sailors

something I've noticed with the Epic animatics is that when the gods are around they tend to appear somewhat human-sized, but with Zeus he's always a giant looming between the clouds.
Thats honestly a great depiction in this scenario, in this hes there as judge,jury and executioner so him being a giant goes to show that you shall suffer the wrath of the gods.
Can I say, this has got the be the accurate depiction of Zeus. Mighty and Meaty. Not some thunderbolt throwing old man. This one's got charm and charisma to go along with his megalomania. You know, this is a God of fawks.

So the first few lines are very true to Zeus in the real Greek mythology as he is a well known R*pist and a narcissist which then makes him talk about himself instead of odysseus. Which Luke holt plays to an amazing point speaking in the first verses and the first chorus over his own greatness whilst playing with a cloud. Very accurate
Well, that's the modern depiction of it. In the context of the time, him actually falling in love with lovers is said to be due to Aphrodite's curse (which causes the Troyan War kinda, as Zeus curses have to have a child who will forever wander and lose whatever home he finds). Him seducing women isn't against the morals of the time (kings were allowed to have lovers, there was no break on Hera's domain or anything), and did so mostly as a divine figure with the intents of creating grand bloodlines (most myths of his children are kings of the time wanting to claim to be his descendants). He commits attrocities, but so do practically all gods, and Zeus was otherwise the god of laws, and gave cautionary tales of punishing those who broke guest laws and such. He's pretty much one of the better Olympians, all in all. Apollo was way worse with women, for one.

I feel like this is probably not a popular opinion, but I agree with all of Odysseus choices in this saga (concerning his crew) Odysseus had 3 options. 1.) go the normal route back home and let Poseidon kill everyone. 2.) Go through Charybdis (which is the path right next to Scylla, and is a whirlpool) which would've brought down the whole ship, killing everyone in the process. or 3.) go through Scylla and sacrifice 6 men and everyone else has a chance to still get home. Odysseus had to make a difficult choice that was essentially finding the lesser of two evils. I also think Odysseus not telling his crew 1.) helped "save" them because otherwise they might have turned around and betrayed Odysseus and not gone through Scylla's pass, resulting in everyone dying by going a different route and 2.) was a kind of mercy towards his crew. He took on the sole responsibility of the decision, and only made Eurylochus hand out the torches because he confessed that it was him that opened the bag. Forcing them to go through a lot more pain than would've been necessary. (also killing the majority of the crew.) I feel like Eurylochus is more of a "monster" in this story because his actions caused the death of the majority of their crew and it was solely out of selfishness and distrust. Whereas Odysseus (up until thunder bringer) had only sacrificed 6 men. The other men died while trying to escape the cyclops. Odysseus has only ever wanted to get him and his friends home. But when he realized he could no longer trust his crew, he let them pay for their own actions instead of taking the blame...again.
It also plays into some lines from mutiny "If you want all the power you have to take all of the blame" Which is something Eurylochus said with so much confidence... Until it was his turn to lead, He looked at the monster that grew inside Ody and said he could do better, he looked at his mistakes and thought he could do better, he saw his choices and thought he could do better. and that Pride and Ego got them killed at the first island they landed on. Under Ody they survived 10 years, Under Eury they lasted *Days*
starvation and hopelessness can make any man go down in depression and stupid But like most of people who try to kill themselves when death near they'll snap out of that then regret it
If you ever dip into music reactions, i think you might enjoy Sleep Token. They are an anonymous UK band. There is a whole lore and whatnot but you don't need to know any of that. Bloodsport (From the Room Below) music video would probably be a great introduction. Its vulnerable and shows off the singer's incredible voice.
Different vein from this, closer to anime than anything, but Honkai Impact 3rd has a bunch of animated shorts for each of their major story arcs with crazy hype songs. I think the official channel has a from start to finish lore type of video that gives context of the game's story before the shorts are shown, but i think its a few hours long. Otherwise the animated shorts are their own videos of a few minutes. They are in both japanese and chinese dubs. I think theres enough context in the shorts themselves to get the gist of whats happening and why, especially being an anime watcher. Wont really question much if you see a giant monster get bodied by the power of --yuri-- friendship
