    Thanks for specifically stating that you must press the power and the volume down buttons at the same time, and not the volume up button (volume up is actually closer to the power button and is therefore the natural choice for a novice user). Many other OFFICIAL videos and articles do not warn users that pressing the power and volume up button causes the device to go into an error state! Many other official videos and articles just state "press the volume button" without being specific on which volume button! This is a major oversight. In tech we are specific and so should be our instruction material.

    YES, I was asking a meta attention bc my headset weren’t loading to my headset. Then she told me to factory reset my headset. She told me how. I did it wrong and she sent me this video. Thank you jasmine

    A tutorial is fine, but you should not release updates with critical problems in the first place, and if you do, you should make the function to revert to a previous version. Many people are encountering critical problems with every update these days. The official forums are full of bug reports. It's funny to see support telling us to do factory reset every time something goes wrong. Initialization is something that should be done in very exceptional cases, and it's abnormal to have to do it over and over again. There are many games that aren't supporting cloud backup.

      Yeah literally, I was just trying to change a payment method and it asked me to create a meta account when I dont even know my email or oculus password, have to factory reset the oculus and lose hundreds of dollars worth of games, just because I couldn't add a payment method.

    It’s really stupid how they don’t really have a definite list of non cloud supported apps. Vader immortal is one, I don’t want to loose all my progress, I got to all the highest levels on training on all three episodes, all to forget my login password and having to reset and do it all over again. Don’t factory reset unless it’s the absolute last thing you have to do.

      It does have a chapter select though, and I think when you start the game, it starts the last chapter over.

      @@Cubedex679 No, I’m talking about the Jedi training section, I got to the highest level on all the episodes, and got all the gloves, sabers, etc. All was wasted when I forgot my password and reset, it was so annoying to get back to where I was before

      Meta sucks! Can't link the stupid app and my quest even when using the code. So sick of getting the notification when I turn the quest on to set up meta account. It never works.

    Meta support is so horrible. I opened a quest account. Bought a few games. They said i have to upload an id card because they need to verify who i am. What game system does that? When i tried to reach them to verify over the phone you can't. I tjink there all in India. So they have just up and closed three tickets without any help with my account and now i wasted money on the hames. What kinda crap is this?

      Ok so when you are holding the power and volume down and when the screen pops up let go of the power and it will start moving the highlighter then let go of volume and you can navigate

      Hey @MikeTheFirst! We see that you are wondering about your account being deleted when you factory reset. We know how important it is to know all the details before doing a reset and we want to let you know that your account will not be deleted. Only the information on the device will be wiped, but all your apps and progress are saved to your account. When you do pull up the device again and after you sign back in, you will have to download your apps again. We hope this has answered your question! 🙂

    My quest 2 keeps on restarting and between restarting it shows ''system utilities has stopped working'' and other things has stopped working but when I click app info or close it just powers off and does it again. I have tried powering it off it by holding the power and volume down button, but it only worked once, and it deleted my stuff in the setting so i had to reset it again but this time it won't go back. What do I do?!?

When you do a factory reset it clears everything off the headset but you will be able to see on your mobile app that everything is still there. All you would need to do after you reset your device is to download them back to the headset.       Hey Sarah!
      Factory reset basically sets your headset to its day one settings. You'll have to go through the set up again and redownload your games, but you don't lose anything from the account itself. Cloud back up should automatically be activated, but it's always a good idea to double check and make sure it actually is on before performing that factory reset. The cloud back up is cool because it keeps you from losing your saves!

It's important that the process of performing a Factory Reset be relatively simple for our users. We see why you have a concern here and we're happy to help out! The most common reasons why a user may end up with the "No Command" error are:
      1. If the customer held the Volume Up button instead of the Volume Down button when trying to initiate a Factory Reset.
      2. If the headset was powered ON instead of OFF while trying to initiate a Factory Reset.
      If your screen is stuck on the no command screen, please press and hold the power button for about 10-15 seconds or until the headset is forced off. As for the teleporting issue, this can be caused by a number of factors, such as: Wi-Fi connectivity issues and varying issues within games, to name a few. Although, performing a quick Factory Reset should take care of this issue completely! Doing a Factory Reset does completely wipe the data from your headset, but you can ensure that your Cloud Backup is enabled and this allows you to easily pick up where you left off in a game when you choose to reset your device. To turn Cloud Backup on or off:
      1. Put on your headset, then hover over the clock on the left-hand side of the universal menu. When Quick settings appears, select it to open the Quick settings panel.
      2. Select Settings.
      3. Select System, then select Backup.
      4. Select the toggle next to Cloud backup to turn cloud backup on or off.

    Thanks meta for this tutorial. Not to be rude but it is kind of annoying to have to do this every time we forget our unlock patterns, please add the ability to reset your pattern using a password or something, as it was annoying having to install cx file explorer and lemonloader to mod bonelab.

    For anyone coming back to this video for help, it doesn't seem to work if the device is plugged in. It just wouldn't stop booting the OS before I could select anything, once I unplugged it everything was fine.

    What the hell meta. I’ve bought the quest 2 2 months ago and kept it perfectly, yet I encountered so many issues and now my headset doesn’t even work, as it says “tracking problem”.       @@technis9340 i fixed the problem so i can help you so basically you need to downlaod something called the meta quest developer hub and then connect your headset in the my devices tab after you do that go through the instructions and your headset should be good (you keep all your apps btw) (and you need to do this on a laptop or pc) (one time only)

    My headset keeps saying that shellenv has stopped working and when I close the app it just pops up again!
