Brother 8Mile, Thank you so much. I just won my first Gov Contract today. Small one, about 35k but I am now in the books baby! They have immediately offered me 4 more projects. That's a potential $140k in a snap. Bless you Man. Keep touching our lives. Your purpose is not for naught. Murica! 💯
That is awesome. Huge congrats!
@@GovKidMethod what website do I submit my proposals too. To get Government Contracts at. I’m giving loans and grants to less fortunate neighborhoods.
I've been trying too learn this for so long.... In 2019, I had the opportunity to sell my missile design to the gov. However, Instead of selling a single design.. I'm aiming to have my company obtain a contract and become a defense partner. . . Do you all think this is possible? I am building out a prototype as well. . . . I will truly appreciate any information on this. Thank you!
Thank you. We are trying to bid on contracts. I hope one day.
Sir, how does the process work? Can I have some tips through email please?
I just wanted to say "thank you" for offering so much value in this topic and not charging an arm and a leg for new people wanting to get Gov contracts....with no prior knowledge.....God bless you!!....and much success to you!!
My man, Thank you for your efforts. This was generous material. Bless you.
This is one of the most genuine and motivational videos I have watched on this entire platform. I intend to break barriers in technology and media. I am the only entrepreneur in my family going after "the possibilities" as we know it. Very new to all of this but passionate to find ways to help others. Thank you for this vid!
Thank you so much for the kind words! Kudos for being the trail blazer of your family as well. Your channel looks great, btw!
@@GovKidMethod You're very welcome! I'm totally going through your courses :) and thank you for taking the time to check it out.

This is a great testament. I have been on my own too going through it on my own listening to these great stories. Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it!
You earned a sub. I became a contractor when I deployed as a soldier. I met contractors during my tour and got into the world of contracting. I recently left the contract and opened my own IT business which is a skillset that I have gained for many years. I hope with my experience I can do what you did!
That's epic, Henry. You can totally do this and your experience will help you that much more!
@GovKidMethod is there anyway to personally connect with you

What would you recommend for a college student that wants to become a Technical/Proposal Writer within the Government? What books do you recommend to read to learn about proposal writing? What is a great way to get experience to prepare for this type of career path?
Keep up the amazing content. Helped a lot , thanks bud.
Awesome! Glad it helped you
I appreciate the inspiring video. Is accuracy something that is necessary to get contracts? What was the roi of those contracts you won before the age of 30?
Thank you. I am going into the SBA so I’m going in blind, but you made it seem even more possible.
Be creative
Be open to different possibilities

So when starting out what NAICS CODE would you use to win contracts that's not in your wheelhouse?
I love this,very inspiring
Great video man. I’m a tree trimmer curious about gov. contracts. This was very interesting, I like it.

Great content, do you have another video on the government paperwork and bidding process involved. Any insights for contracts abroad?
I go over a lot of the paperwork and bidding in my courses at govkidmethod.com
Didn't realize that Goverment contracts could be as basic as road salt, good information
So I'm guessing also having you're import export license along with class 3 ffl license for arms deal contracts?
Yes
Thanks for sharing, I been in the Army 13 years and getting out of active duty in two years to get into this field.
You give me hope.
Thank you for that!
Getting out after 15 damn. Just do the last 5 to lock in that pension and start building your contacts while in a get some deals going.
How did you write the proposal with their requirements? Did you send the requirements to subcontractor for them to fill out and then you put everything together and sent to gov't?
This was great! Confidence builder.
Glad it helped!
Youre adorable, honey. Thank you. All of this before 30!!! What a smart responsible guy!! I'm proud of your ambition. KEEP GOING, honey! KEEP GOING!!!!
Thank you!
Derek, you are a go getter, I don't know you of course, but, I'm a mom and I'm proud of you as I sure your parents are. Good job.
Haha Aw thank you! I’ll show this to my mom 🥰
Question sir if I have a security company what would I need to start offering my services over seas?
Idk how I got here but I'm glad I found your channel!!!! You definitely have a new subby in me. I liked and hit that bell for all notifications too.
That’s awesome. Welcome!
Do you pay for the product up front and they reimburse you once the jobs done?
I have one questions, how do you get the weapons, ammo, and ect to send to the government? I really want to get started but I don’t know where to start if that makes sense
How did you find trucks to ship the salt or did the salt company have their own logistics company to move salt for them?
Are the conrtacts also working if I live in Austria?
Thank you for the video
For these kinds of government contracts when are you payed, is it upfront or do you need capital first?
Great vid man. New subscriber.
Welcome!
great content I found this story valuable in your thought process
I appreciate that!
Great video! I came across a contract that needs a company to provide disinfectant wipes, but of course you need to have all that money up front to purchase the wipes.
Depending on who you buy it from there is supplier credit and payment terms where they may allow you to reimburse the supplier with interest. They would need to see a government purchase order as proof

Congrats bro
Thanks, Joseph! I have so much more to share!
Can I get a security government contract if I’ve made a lot of networks and have worked in the front line overall?
That’s awesome… Very encouraging….
Inspiring.
Awesome insight! How did you get into this line of work? Does it require specific formal education or do companies train you to do this sort of thing?
Companies will usually train you! Start in business development or as an entry proposal writer
@@GovKidMethod appreciate the advice!
Derek great work you're putting out. Are the contracts cashed out in advanced, inmediately after the completition/stages or after completition, then undergoes bureucratic paperwork and finally cashes out? Or how?
Good question, Axel. The government pays NET 30 after you’re setup on their invoicing system. They don’t give you cash upfront. It will either be a monthly billing or progress payments depending on the type of work it is. So you need to be able to float that until you are reimbursed.
@@GovKidMethod Thank you Derek! Keep beating it with the great work
I really appreciate your story and content. I’ve been looking for the video where you talk more about the “AA” contract category with the SBA. I haven’t been able to find it. Could you guide me towards it?
8A
May I ask. With all of the different areas, how do you make a capability statement? Do you make more than one statement or is it not needed?

@@DeonMitchel I'm looking for contracts for trucking. Can you provide any info on that? We're a minority owned company.
@@charchar7897 I work on the performance side of contracting not the buying side. So unfortunately I don’t have a point of contact to get you to.
@@DeonMitchel Ok, thank you.
Do you have any videos explaining the contract terms? For example, I see contracts that say “Annual supply of… “ does that mean they send you the contract amount of money and you give them store credit or how does that work? What if they don’t use the total amount
Inspirational
I have been on your website and have a few questions. When you first start setting up you reference NAICS codes. Do those actually matter when submitting proposals or being awarded contracts? You said in this video the business was an IT company. How were you able to obtain a salt contract?
You just need to make sure you have the NAICS code in your SAM profile when they go to award the contract. If you don’t they can’t award and worse case scenario you could lose it but usually they will let you quickly add it in.
Dang love your videos and wanting to get started. And then you said you’re in Michigan. There goes all the good contracts Lolol
Thx for this! I have a question-I’m a service based company and I’m wondering how I should price my bid. Based on the one contract or just a per hour rate?
You have to follow what the contract asks for. Every bid is different
Thank you! I'm looking for my first contract and you really give me the faith.

I have my company just residential we’re do landscaping ,painting, concrete but I trying to move up do I apply or were you paid ???
I don’t understand the question
Does 8a apply to depart of defense contracts? Like engineering wise
Yes. Applies to all federal contracts from federal agencies.
Great job.
Great vid
Thank you, Derek. What are the documents you present to the government. Asking on a traditional bid/competition. I know this video is a little unorthodox and I appreciate the knowledge.
What’s the site for government contract ? And do you have to be living in the US ?
I have a trucking company can someone give me some information about how to get a contract with the USPS or any other government entity
Just start learning how to search SAM.gov they are on there
Hi im from Honduras, Central America and im a lawyer trying to find a way to get in the contracting bussines. Can i make contracts from may country through the website?
So if my company is for painting/pressure cleaning (coded as that, registered as that etc) and I see a good easy opportunity to let's say deliver flyers to all county libraries can I still apply to do it? Or do I need to create a whole other company registered and coded as a distributor or something in that sort? Also, didn't you have to pay the 35k upfront for them to send the salt and then government can only pay you after they receive the salt?
You can pursue whatever contracts you would like, you but you need to have the Naics code in your profile. And yes, the government never fronts you money on contracts without you doing the work.
I just registered my business in SAM its a women owned small business. What would be my next steps to getting awarded contracts?
