I hadn’t seen one of your videos in literally several years. In the meantime my spouse died, my son has disappeared and I’ve had to move. Life is a challenge but I choose to live and move forward. Watching you scale the mountain, sleep on it in the bitter cold and get back to the warmth and comfort of your van is a microcosm of life as it is for me and as I hope it will be. Thanks for appearing back in my life.
How old r u man
All the best for the future 😊
Your in my prayers. Find your son.
Wish you all the best from now forward man 🙏
Keep plodding forward, hope life sorts out for you soon.
Mr Forest you are truly a brave, adventurous man. I was cold just watching this video. Applause to you for a great video and to Rocko for being Rocko. Thanks again, we love your thoughtful creativity.
Foresty, use a stainless cup, and a scrap of carbon felt, and clip it into the cup with a paperclip..... And make an oil candle. Set it in the wood stove. Then when you get back from a hike it will be well above freezing. No battery required.
Well said!
Thank you! Have a great day!
I pulled a blanket over my legs watching this video AND I LIVE in Hawaii 😮❄️🌨️🌲
This video had the burrrr factor 🥶👍
What’s your dog’s name? She’s living the life!! Such fun adventures for the JRT energy level!!
Camping on a snow-covered cliff, in the dark, stopped my heart briefly.
And I'm Canadian.
Yea mine too!!!!! 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
IamCDN also.
I was genuinely amazed. I wouldn't have slept a wink, fearing rolling off the mountain.
Dont know about the rest of you but I feel so much better when I see Foresty back in the warm Van after sleeping up top a mountain in the cold.
Brave Confident Man. .
This is epic camping Foresty! The drone footage of your tent took my breath away 😮. From the bottom of my heart ❤, thank you for being you and taking us with you and Roco 🐕
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it!
I enjoy all your episodes, but camping in the snow on the edge of a windy cliff near the top of a mountain with a precious pup to keep safe. Pure admiration for living the best possible life. With biscuits 😋
Summits aren't important. Hiking and camping are fun. It's the journey
😍seeing Rocko enjoying life to the fullest, even in the van 😄. You are an excellent Dad.👍
Thanks so much!
Dad? The dogs thinks it's the alpha. On the bed, eating from the same area. Great.....
@@gymbobjoe1091 You're wrong. A dog thinks its the alpha when it growls at its owner for wanting to sit on the bed, when it is ultimately confused about who is leader of its pack.
This dog understands who is the leader of her pack, her alpha, her benevolent dictator or what ever. Her "dad" is the boss of their pack, and as a pack animal she is secure and happy with her position. No need to make it more than it is.
I would imagine lines blur a bit about who ate out of what when eating in sub zero conditions. Relax dude.
.
When Superman grows up he wants to be Foresty Forest!
I love Foresty Forest content. A good man with a good dog is hard to beat.
All the best to you!
(All of you.)
And right back to you
I agree as well :-)
That was an awesome pitch Foresty. Next time, stock some chocolate biscuits. In this weather, I make a flask of hot chocolate with a wee dram to warm me up.
:)
A good woman with a good dog is better, ha ha.
@@starcorpvncj that depends on the flavor of fun you want to have (but your point is well taken).
Rocko doesn’t care how hard it’s snowing when she’s got energy to burn off.
Hahaha, priorities, eh!
We are getting there FF. 380K subscribers. 400K coming soon!!
Ah-maze-ing... I usually just appreciate what you share. Today, I offer this - if you find yourself with a cold raw biscuit and a container of chili to be heated, break up the biscuit, add the chili, heat through. I think the biscuit will become like dumplings in the moist heat of the chili.
Lol, when u showed the drone footage of your tents location, it confirmed you are nuts dude, but in the best way. Great video-- great to see you smiling so much.❤
Watching Rocko with her squeaky toy, oh yeah, she's a terrier all right 😂
My Dearest Foresty,
May I speak on behalf of all mothers who love their sons, "Don't you ever let me catch you pitching a tent on a precipice such as that again, young man!". Yikes! What if a willawong came down from above you'd be blown off in a New Brunswick second! But that was extremely beautiful! I hope you really enjoyed it despite the cold and breaking trail.
Thanks you for another stunner!
Wow, Foresty, my mind is blown again. You're the real deal, a real man of the elements. You and Rocko stay safe. Those frying pan biscuits look good, despite the fail on the mountain.
Thanks, hopefully next time can perfect the mountain biscuits 😋
Keepin' it real AF.
You got some truly epic shots in this video! Camping on the side of a mountain and playing with Rocko in the snow! I absolutely loved it! All the best to everyone.
Thanks!! Gotta love the Purcell mountains!
Dang, you are the man! Way to go.
one of the drone shots became my new pc wallpaper, good stuff
Best vanlifer on youtube! Your videos are top notch. It feels good to watch a youtuber without drama, complaints, tons of add and product placements. Thank you for being you and staying true,
That dog is living the best life.
Rocko: "Second biscuit for later on? I thought it was for me!"
lol I was thinking the same thing
Again, I find myself in front of my fake fireplace 🔥my comfy sofa🛋 with a large cup of coffee☕️ enjoying the wilderness adventures of Foresty Forest & Rocko ❣️🤩
VR VR!!!
WHAT A VIEW FROM THE TENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is in my top 5 episodes. My wife and I are working towards van style living. We live in USA "West Virginia" W both love your channel and absolutely adore Rocko.
I Completely understand the being backwards and antisocial thing. It's so great that you are not letting it hold you back, because it can big time if you let it trust me "I know"
Just remember, Absolutely no one is perfect and you are worth every bit as much as everyone else regardless of how "you" perceive yourself. Thanks for a great product and keep it up.
Another West Virginian here. Hello !!!!
Man i miss west Virginia such a beautiful state😢
There is no other channel where I’ve watched such a high percentage of the content. And one day I’ll get to 100%.
You can keep the snow and cold. This was an interesting video. I'm glad that you are doing what you want and enjoying life. When you get old you will have great memories.
He will STILL be out there.

Learned about you from the video of you camping with Steve. Not many people can truly understand being in a tent in the high country in the snow all alone for 15 hours of night. I can. Did it for almost 2 decades. Disabled now and retired. Still dream of getting out there again some day. Thank you for bringing me along. God Bless and be careful. Mr. Bill
Foresty cooks better food than I can in a full kitchen.
When he retires from UA-cam, I think that I am going to hire him to be my personal chef. 👨🍳
Retires from youtube? don't even joke about such things. Hopefully that never happens!. That would be a sad day indeed.
@@RMJ1984
I certainly hope that this does not happen anytime soon, but maybe by the time he is 65 and has been making UA-cam videos for many, many years, he will be ready for a change of pace!
Yes, stick with comfort. Go slow, bring extra food, and be cozy. It's fun to watch.
It adds contrast to the rugged environments you face.
What a view to go to sleep on! Love the lights of the town WAY down in the valley. Thanks again for another great experience!
Glad you enjoyed, was about 1400m above town from this perch 😊
Another great cooking and adventure show starring Foresty Forest and his faithful dog, Rocko, by his side. Love your videos.
Was it just me or were you thinking that kibble was looking tasty 😅?
FF, a film just to remind us mere mortals you are hard-core man!

@@Jon-jk8vd Is Rubber Ducky a joke to you?
Whenever I’m in the backcountry and I see an interesting spot, I sometimes think..”no way anyone has ever been or stayed there.” Then I remember FF.
Not to mention all the Indigenous people who have travelled these areas for tens of thousands of years...
When you said, "just a dusting of snow" was when I realized that the snow you stepped out into would have called off schools and some businesses here in rural Kentucky! Loved this video. The chili looked really good!
Lol it’s all relative isn’t it
Foresty went up Mount Crumpit
Grinch: YES
Tea and crumpets would've suited that campsite well
@@Jon-jk8vd You betcha biscuits!
I was enjoying a bunch of your latest videos with my wife when she remarked that you look so ordinary when you're in your regular clothes, but when you're all suited up in your hiking gear you look so cool. I hope you're not offended, I just found it pretty amusing. Its like when a superhero wears their costume or something. 😂
Anyways, keep on trucking my brother. You are by far the best van life youtuber on the platform.
I like the sections of your videos that are free of music and talking...just you going about your chores in the van. Very relaxing. It contrasts nicely with the sections where there is music. ..like the intros with drone footage etc. Always a thumbs up.
Me too. I like the feeling of "being along for the ride". Been here since the slow-cooker days.!
I've spent dozens of hours of analyzing other creators adventure videos vs mine trying ot find out why mine aren't successful and your comment here is the exact conclusion I came to. Seems like its an inherit built in mechanisim in most people, we like to have periods of quiet and calm, hear the noises of those surroundings which offers a lot more value then a music track that supports the mood of the moment.
Sometimes your videos make me identify as a worried mother. That snowy rock step (the crux) is definitely fifth class and looks dodgy even for a properly equipped rope team. Anyway I'm glad you got back safe. This video is pretty but makes me glad I did the snowbird thing this year 😊👍🏻
This charming man.
Welcome back.

In this episode Forestry Forest becomes a wimp in the cold.
WELCOME to the club.
I cannot convince myself to tent it anymore with the van. My nice heater, warm blankets and I can take it to -50c no problem. In the tent 10c and I wimp out!🤣🤣
If I was him, and I was going to spend the night out in frigid temperatures like that, I would get one of those full body down suits, like the mountain climbers in the Himalayas wear - and I would use that in addition to the -30 C sleeping bag!
Brrrrr. 🥶
Wowzers, FF. You handle cold and wet well. Glad the winds didn’t blow y’all off that spot. Great biscuit on the last try. Thanks for sharing another adventure.
Spectacular spot for your tent, Foresty. I hope your pants have thawed out. A camp setup in a future video sounds great. Thanks for sharing 🌲🏔️

No matter what time of year, FF is always fighting cold weather. I've never seen him in shorts and a T-shirt.
I don't think he's ever been seen in a tshirt
@@Jon-jk8vd My wife and I always joke about FF in July...wearing a jacket and fighting some level of cold.
WOW what a crazy cool camp spot! Well done once again Simon!👍 ✌️ 🤙 🇨🇦 🇺🇸
I'm in Michigan and hope the snow stays north for a good long time yet. The chili looked great the the tent site was epic, but hiking in that weather is better left to you than me. Thanks for taking us along on all of your adventures. I have my Cubic Grizzly in a tiny house for 6 years and I love it. Great little stove.
Killing it forest
Forest , make me so happy, you are truly living your best life! the way you camped for the night and then added the drone view, wow talk about living/sleeping on the edge. LOVE IT ! Regardless, you look after yourself, even if you've been doing this for awhile, just don't go too far, just for content. But what a spot with a view. 🤩
The drone shot of your camp spot! Wow!
You are tough with the cold..makes a hot shower even more soothing!
Rocko, homemade biscuits and a wood fire...so cozy
Good to see you both🙂
Will you travel to states this winter? Inquiring minds want to know😉
Another Foresty and Rocko banger! Stay warm out there… My gf and I are hoping to run into you some day in Invermere!
We always joke about how cool it would be to bump into him.
I saw him driving in our town, didn't get a chance to say hi yet :)@@ChrisScales17
That van is a log cabin on wheels.
Noice goin' Foresty Forest!

Seeing the beautiful aerial view of your bivouac made me soooooo happy you are not a sleepwalker.
Those sweeping vistas....it's the definition of peace and quiet.
Fantastic Episode! Foresty & Rocko climb, cook & dine.. Just how I like it 🤓 Dont want to see you miserable or too cold but I do enjoy the snow and cozy fires🤗🌱💙 Safe Adventures Happy Travels

FAH WHO FOREST DARN YOU FORESTY
I was cold just watching this episode. Considering where you set up camp, it's a good thing you aren't a sleepwalker! Hot chili on a mountain top is definitely comfort food. That was a novel way to make a biscuit. Will have to give that a try. I think Rocko enjoyed being back in the warm van. Safe travels in the snow!
This channel needs a Snowblower.
Crappy Tire: YES
*Crappy Tire Flyer:* _Take off eh_

Wore my Foresty-hoodie today! 😉 Nice Video Forest! The morning shot w/ exposure was fun.
If that morning scene wasn't a flex, I don't know what is. That was pretty awesome.
Are you even human 😮❤... Rocco is fearless.. love it 😍
9:06 Snow can be nice like it's pretty, but the feeling of the first snow is pretty nice. I could do without the cold though. This is a great video, thanks again! The van is pretty good with multiple heat sources and plenty of space.
Best UA-cam channel ever! I really think you are an awesome dude! So resilient! So awesome!
'Burnt doughy chunks' sounds just right to me. Doughy cookies, doughy cake, in fact cookie mix before it's cooked at all :) Rocko took off and knew exactly where that football was going to land; quarterback to receiver, what a team :) Love you two.
That Chili needs some Carolina Reaper Rectum Wrecker Sauce.
Personally, I prefer the Puckerbutt brand.
Cozy Foresty is wonderful. I love that you have a wood stove there to enjoy your coffee.
Thank you for a beautiful hike video
Yes the wood burner seems perfect for you
Nice drone footage
I wonder if a grid thingy made from super heavy foil, like a frozen lasagna pan, might be the trick to making the mountain biscuits. What I'm imagining would pack flat, and then you'd just slot the pieces together and place them in the bottom of your cook pot and put the biscuit dough on top of that so it was more or less suspended in the middle of the pot. Have not done this myself, it's just what popped into my head. Thanks for another great virtual outing!
The chili and biscuits looked really good. You definitely picked a cold adventurous place to sleep! Thanks
That was an epic spot to camp, glad you made it through the night without becoming a popsicle!
Thanks Foresty! As a Florida guy I can't even begin to imagine the cold. All the best...
Squeaky green football beats a rock every time.
I like how Rocko becomes "inspector 88'" when dinner is being prepared. Great video
😂❤
This food is making me hungry
*380k* that is a big ball of biscuit dough
Another great video!
Love the addition of Rocko. She’s a great addition to your life and your channel!!
Always my favorite FF videos when it's cold/snowing like hell outside and you're warm and toasty in the van, cooking and paying attention to Rocko. Be well!
This man, is CRAZY! I love it! ❤
Ahh good stuff. A day in the life of Foresty is good youtube eatin! Just bought one of the offroad crockpot shirts. hilarious and awesome! Keep up the good life, and thanks for sharing it with all of us.
That chili looked amazing, and that camping spot was intense; awesome!

That visual to your morning wake up spot was one of the best things you have ever filmed.🏆Magnificent.
maple syrup, the Purcells, snow, and a cozy fire makes for a good episode. And biscuits.
Wow! You are so unic, down to earth, and fearless! Sleeping on the mountain wow! Your videos are priceless a d rocko is adorable! Thanks for sharing!❤❤❤❤❤❤🎉
Winter camping is no joke and can turn ugly real quick. Be safe out there.
Irish soda bread is made very similar to your biscuits - baking soda, flour and buttermilk. If you want you can add oil/butter and a little sugar for sweetness. In the olden days, the griddle would be set up over a peat fire and the soda bread would be cooked approx 7-10 minutes each side (depending on how hot the griddle was). Thank you so much for your fantastic videos with Rocko as the star. She really is an amazing little dog. Be careful out there and enjoy your winter adventures!
Fantastic comment. I am going to look into that bread. In his case, he could've poured in some syrup and cooked a few biscuits for the hike🤠
Seriously getting me in the winter mood with your chili and biscuits. If you could have any wood burning setup, what would it be?
I don't know if Rocko was born to do this, or she does it to be with you, either way she turned out to be the perfect dog and companion for you. My black lab was like that with me, had a great 17 years together, miss him everyday since he died in 2010. there is no better love than a dog's love. stay safe and I love the content.
Was I the only 1 that thought FF was gona wake up like a frozen popsicle 🤔🤔🤣😭
He woke up like Foresty the Snowman. ❄☃
Love you guys! Be careful though ❤️
still in the top 3 of van life chefs. No one gets more production and flavorful dishes out of such a small space. Be safe.
There’s something cozy about being in a van during a snow storm, looks like fun to me 💯💯💯
Fun?
@@Jon-jk8vd Yes fun to me 😊
Tasty looking chili - like. Awesome camping spot - double like! Cozy scene in the van while it's cold and snowing outside - ...sometimes I miss the option to give more than one like to a video. Well done, thank you!
That was freaking amazing! Holy cow! Thanks for sharing! Stay safe!
8:48 Rocko steals the show again. Forest does all the hard work, climbs the mountain, sleeps in the freezing cold and Rocko comes in center stage and plays with her nerf football and gets all the glory. LOL!
You are one tough dude sleeping in the freezing cold. I have much respect to you. :)
Thanks Simon and Rocko...for sharing that , and all the other great things you show me !
I like when you and Rocko are cozy around the wood burning stove. No need to suffer for us. Also, I see you as the drummer for the indie rock band "Addicted to Biscuits."
It looks really cold up there. Being a Floridian, I don't know if I could camp out in the snowy mountains like that, but I'd love to try! Keep up the great videos!
Loved this! Start to finish, Rockos toy, hilarious! Could feel your joy throughout, you rock!
