Stunning! That sandwich looked amazing too. I admire your patience cooking something so elaborate after a gruelling hike. I’d have thrown a hotdog in the air fryer on arrival haha.
Yeah, but you’d have cooked the hotdog sitting in a suspended teepee, hanging from the underside of a vast bridge over a 1000’ drop into shark-infest waters. 😂
Sewing machine, is a skill that our local public school still teaches. You're very resourceful, kettle used to iron a hem. Your energy sometimes exceeds Rocko's. Spectacular views, especially drone views of mountain tops, wowsers! Thanks! Young man!
Dude - you are so creative; absolute renaissance man - from your cinematography to your exploits to your repairs and cooking. Just so much fun to watch. Stay safe out there.
A tea kettle iron, the ultimate weapon sewing machine, a major summit and a whole roasted chicken. One of your best, Foresty, thanks for all that you do for us. Please take care of yourself and Rocko.
The mountains may help your mental health, but you should know that, for people like me who can no longer hike and climb, the effect is just the same. The drone shots on this one are superb - they evoke feelings I thought forever lost, and a sense of peace that I need very much. And I'm very grateful Mr Forest.
I am so ashamed! I have a sewing room, a wonderful sewing machine and a 4 thread serger and I just cannot seem to get motivated to work on my projects. And Foresty, who is truly a man of so many talents, hems his new hiking pants, climbs a mountain with precious side-kick Rocco and makes a most sumptuous meal in his van! I never fail to be impressed by this wonderful treasure of a man! You two are my favorite mountain goats and I am always so happy to see a notification pop up when you post! If you started a book club, I would join that, too! Thank you for sharing your adventures with us! They never get old! You two take care out there and be safe! ❤😊👍🏻🐶
"I needed the horse jockey version". Your humor is always so on point as is your ingenuity on the "iron". If I was 20 years younger I would definitely be trying to do things with ya. As always your video's are master pieces. Thank you for taking us along.
I'm am stunned by the quality of videography/photography that your channel consistently delivers. This was the stuff of dreams back in the 70s. Stay safe. Peace.
That drone footage of the lake was so friggin beautiful! Thank you for being considerate of rocko’s well being and not pushing her too hard. Take care!
Foresty: I am not a subscriber, but my husband is. I had to come on here to express my admiration for you. You are truly a modern Renaissance man. Sewing machines, gourmet cooking, and reading? At the same time bringing the beauty of the mountains to us and giving that cute dog the high life? Is there anything you can't do? Thank you for being you!
I know what you mean about the mountains renewing body and soul, and a little bit of that medicine does come through to this side of the screen. Another beautiful video!
Mr. MaGoo of the Mountains, you bring joy and adventure to my life. I love watching your hikes and cooking. Also the first time I saw you pull out that sewing machine I was an instant follower. A jack of all skills.
Lol...nothing boring about you, Foresty! Btw...my hubby took up quilting when he retired...fitting for and engineer who excels at math...he also cooks, bakes makes wooden toys/furniture, rides a bike, flys a powered parachute, and grows his favorite fruits. (I on the other hand, shoot guns, fish, camp, and taught our 4 sons these skills plus how to mend, clean, do laundry, cook, etc) kind of a backwards 'Leave it to Beaver' type family.
It's not enough to sew the hem..... 1st innovate an Iron.... Another Incredible Journey.... & The Best Cooking Show on YT..... Thanks Simon & Rocko for a Great Video....
Sewing is such an art ! I have done small upholstering for myself and always wanted to make sails for a boat ! The fun is limitless with a nice machine .
Learned to sew many years ago, on my Grandmother's treadle machine. Later in life, bought my first electric version. Since I retired I bought one with all the bells & whistles. It's a skill that I've never regretted learning. Hemmed many a pair of pants, myself, too!
ForestyForest has mad sewing skills in addition to his Sherpa skills, crock pot cooking skills, ninja instapot skills, flying drone while 4x4 skills . . . ! It's a joy to see an upload from this channel.
I imagine that the hiking scenes without Rocky in them were shot with Rocky just sitting next to your camera waiting for you to come back and get it! 😂
That was GREAT!!!! I rarely laugh out loud at any video I frequent; I may smile and grin but RARELY laugh out loud but the horse jokey size, and pacemaker disclaimer comments were Foresty gems. You were a delight and you seem light-hearted and happy...I'm glad of that. I live full-time in my tear-dropesque trailer. I'm parked all alone in a remote site at the edge of a lake in Washington state. The breeze is wafting in, the water is sparkling, waves are lapping, snow geese are glittering white as they pass overhead-all is well. Regarding the restorative aspect of high peaks, I can't agree more. I wrote this poem year's ago: Alone by the river, Gazing high to the peaks, The fresh mountain wind through my hair, My soul is restored, My spirit renewed, For it's God that I feel when I'm there.
You make it all look so easy..(NOT). thanks for taking us along! Love the bit with hemming the tough canvas pants, & I had a good belly laugh at using the hot kettle to iron the crease. Your Mom trained you well❗🙌 🙌 🙌
Amazing! another one of those has it all episodes, more content in 10 min then most pack into a month or more! The back country is taking its tole on the old chev!.. all the glass and thin sheet metal is like a magnet for those wayward branches 😅
Man, you are really good at what you do. (Rocko too) Absolutely stunning drone shots. Love how the beautiful music stops abruptly a soon as you open the door to van and are stuck inside again. Much respect and thumbs up always.
Dude this one gave me a real happiness and sense of peace. Definitely can tell you really love that place and time spent up there. Your van is a portal to places I may never get to see, but I hope to! Thanks and cheers!
Spectacular footage of mountains, meadows, and glaciers, thank you. Plus clever witticisms about sewing. Such a valuable skill. Finally, I waited with baited breath for Rocko to have a chicken morsel!
Heyyyy!! First I gasped when you put scissors to new pants but then cheered you on for using a kettle as an iron. YESSSSSS!! As a reminder, I too am a sewist and now need to level up my skills after your inspiration. Thank YOU Simon. Drone shots, paws in flowers, summits ETC. Thanks for sharing. Wishing you a happy summer ahead!! 🐾🖤
@alan4sure @TheresaPowers respectfully, I’m pretty sure I can call myself whatever I please. That said, my abuelita (rest her soul) was a “seamstress” in that she did alterations, repaired garments and made dresses and clothing for a living. Historically, a “seamstress” tailor or dress maker do their craft to earn a living. I very much respect, admire and look up to folks that are called “seamstress”…that which I am not. I’ve been sewing for over 30+ years. I do not do alterations for people. I do not make clothing for people. My work is commission based with a focus on utilitarian wares. In my art community we say “sewist” in which we combine sew with artist. It’s okay to call myself what I have earned to be called. Wishing you a wonderful weekend ahead!
Any scene with you and Rocko is aesthetic to us, Foresty. You have heaps of appeal, just being you. The scenery, the climbs, the cooking and sewing are a bonus. Loved your iron. That is multi-purposing at its best. You are a genius.
I always enjoy the sections with gorgeous scenery set to peaceful music and a bit of feet crunching on snow or flowing water in the background. I could meditate to a compilation video of clips like that. Please consider making at least one. You are showing us places that 99.9% of us will never see. It would be a beautiful project if some of them were gathered together in videos. Maybe to celebrate your 200th Summit, coming up soon?
The intro to this is hilarious and awesome, just with the classic rock-ish music and the shots of the 4x4 van going, haha! The vibe it conveys is like 100% different!
Man O Man what an Intro, you have moved well into the Documentary Zone with the Directors Cut Drone footage. At 73 my wife and I so much anticipate and appreciate the sight, sounds and experiences .you share with folks like us who although are still able to hike the moderate trails, our times of hiking high are way past and I really don’t mean HikingHigh..lol Keep on Keeping On Mr Forestry LuvYa.
Both the chicken and the creek look so inviting. I, too, have a Ninja Foodie and I like the way you did your chicken, then turned part of it into a sandwich. Excellent! I may try your recipe! When I watch you walk up those glaciers, I am always concerned one will give way beneath you. You are certainly living the life. Keep it up and stay mellow. That's why you're on this journey = away from the hubbub of modern life! Diana
Thank you for this video! So much beauty and good humor! One might say “I learned how to cook watching a mountain man that lives in his van make meals in his ninja pan!” 😉❤️
You never disappoint. Been sewing for many years (58) and never saw anyone use teakettle for iron. I am duly impressed. Great meal and scenery is perfectly captured. 🙏 Namaste
It’s such a rollercoaster of emotions watching your videos: awe, amazement, joy, concern, delight, impressed, humbled are just some of what I go through on every video. You are a true gem.
I lose track of how many times I say, “Wow!” during your videos. And how many times I burst out laughing at your dry humor and Rocco’s antics. Absolutely LOVE your videos.
I’ll never forget that first cooking vid with the disgust over the icky hands in the van and ever since there have been gloves for the icky raw stuff prep. Good memories 😂❤❤❤. The glaciers are amazing !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sew happy to see the machine back in action. Skills. Got skills.
Forest your drone work is absolutely amazing!
Thank you kindly!
Intro music was cool! Good change you need to add something to your channel.
Fixing stuff, drone shots, a mountain & great food. Full house
Stunning! That sandwich looked amazing too. I admire your patience cooking something so elaborate after a gruelling hike. I’d have thrown a hotdog in the air fryer on arrival haha.
Steve, FF is a mobile gourmet for sure, but every time I watch you make one of your hearty pots I get a huge appetite, even if I've eaten already.
Same 😂
Yeah, but you’d have cooked the hotdog sitting in a suspended teepee, hanging from the underside of a vast bridge over a 1000’ drop into shark-infest waters. 😂
Haha thanks! 😄
Hey guys! Collab??😊😊
Life instantly improves when Senor Foresty uploads another lovely episode
So true!
I seriously read life insurance improves when senior foresty uploads
Well said! He makes it all look so easy... 😊
Absofreakinglutely!!! So happy to watch the continuing saga of watching someone living their best life!
Im sure veteran viewers say the same thing, but this was the quickest 12 minute video I remember watching.
Everyone is a Van Life gangster until Foresty Forest
walks in the room with a real *Singer* sewing machine and has us in stitches.
It’s all about the sewing machine! …. And the spectacular drone footage! …. And Rocco the wonder pup!
Thanks for the wonderful Saturday gift, Foresty.

That was impressive, flying the drone in front of the van going down that narrow fsr! Also, how clever using your kettle as an iron!👍🏻

"I needed the horse jockey version". Your humor is always so on point as is your ingenuity on the "iron". If I was 20 years younger I would definitely be trying to do things with ya. As always your video's are master pieces. Thank you for taking us along.
Rocko is a trooper. What a blessing to have such a loyal lass by your side. Five shy of her celebratory 50th summit. Stay safe, friend. 💙💙
Your sewing commentary left me in stitches!😉
I see what you did there! 😂🧵🪡
I'm am stunned by the quality of videography/photography that your channel consistently delivers. This was the stuff of dreams back in the 70s. Stay safe. Peace.
Self-sufficient and self-reliant, what more can a person ask for. Really enjoy your videos. And, I love Rocko!
That drone footage of the lake was so friggin beautiful! Thank you for being considerate of rocko’s well being and not pushing her too hard. Take care!
Thanks!! Yeah glad the lake was melted to see the colour!
Canadian humour is so underrated ! You are the master Foresty
Rocko, sometimes stops and looks at you like “ wait we are still going to continue” haha, yes, Rocko . Your dad is a badass and so are you.
I thought that look was "come on, dad, let's go! "

„ Mr Magoo of the mountains“ 😂😂
The adventures of Foresty and Rocko are the best viewing of this or any other week. Thank you!

At first I thought, “Of course you need coffee to sew!” 😂
Foresty makes my soul happy 😊
The PC Gaming and Pace Maker joke had me lol. I feel compelled to buy Forest a Tim Hortons coffee of his liking. Dude is all Canadian eh 🇨🇦
Too bad Tim's isn't Canadian anymore though.
@alan4sure yea I was thinking the same. Brazil 🇧🇷
I know what you mean about the mountains renewing body and soul, and a little bit of that medicine does come through to this side of the screen.

I am liking the seemingly even more laid back Foresty Forest.... Life is good for Foresty. Good on him
You never cease to amaze me. You utilize and make the most of your gear. Makes me smile
Let’s all go into the woods with Foresty! BYOS-Bring Your Own Saw.
My Dear Lone Wolf,
You did it again. You made me swoon. The drone shots over the mountains were truly wondrous.
