ALWAYS replace the water pump impeller. Even if you have flow. Impellers are made of rubber & get stiff in short order. On every good running motor, the impeller should be replaces annually at the beginning of the season. A stiff impeller will not flow as much water as a fresh flexible one. So, seeing water flow dont mean shit. !
Question on the Honda, if I have a gasoline leak where do I start the troubleshoot? Sorry really new to outboards 😅 When it's in the water you can see a good amount of either gasoline or oil floating and coming out of the motor
Could be a lot of potential causes. Bad fuel connector, ripped fuel lines, carb overflow from the float not set properly. Check oil in your lower unit if it’s milky then maybe a bad crush washer on your lower unit screw
Question for you on the Nissan . I have the same engine, but no water coming out of the tell tale area. The odd part is if you take the casing off the top of the engine, there is no line hooked in anywhere to exhaust that water. I see your drip comes out the rear of the engine area, do you have a line in your engine area draining water into that hole?
I have that same 7,.5 and an 8hp .. nice work!!
Thanks man!
Good job buddy, I wish you were closer. I've got 2 older 10 Hondas and one has issues with shifting. I think the long rod needs to be longer

Great video, what do you suggest to do if the housing is stuck shut even if the screws have been removed?
Tap it with a rubber mallet
@sacratboatingandfishing got it thanks!
I have the Nissan ns8b 8hp that seems to have a bad thermostat but I can't find the thing 🤷
They still sell parts for that?
Are you going to fix these up and sell them?
You forgot to place the engine shut off clip in the motor!

2 years later and I don’t believe there is such a thing as a cheap outboard motor. Gotta love inflation.

So you are saying he knows something about mechanicing. Genius read and comprehend what you wrote, lol.
You don't know anything about double negatives! 🤣
