Nice video man! I have an old Tohatsu 15 hp and recongnized the aftermarket carburettor immediatly! have to work on mine for a while though before it can run because it has been abused by previous owners, but that will be alright. Thanks for making this vid and maybe I could use some of its contents to tweak settings on my motor!
just picked up a short shaft version of the remote 18 you got , ran good when tested just would idle low and stumble sometimes. gonna try playing with the adjustment screws. thanks for the info
Excellent videos! I’ve got a 1995 Nissan 25 HP. All of sudden it started idling super high to the point I just shut off because I’m scared something’s gonna happen. I never adjusted either screw. Should I just let it run and see if it settles down? What could cause this super high idle?
@@EthantheIncredible Thanks man. You could take the airbox off and see the position of the butterfly inside carb. Adjusting the idle screw will adjust the butterfly. You could try backing the screw out a bit if it looks like the butterfly is cracked open too far which lowers the idle speed. If that doesn’t work then you could try adjusting air mixture screw. Do both adjustments in small 1/4 turns till you find the sweet spot
I just bought that 1st motor put it on my 14ft wards seaking thing is a beast glad i got it starts everytime and runs great changed fluid tuned man i think i have a good motor that will last a while guy from Richmond sold it to me u must of sold it ti him
Hey there Im pretty sure I just bought that exact motor from Sacramento a couple days ago it doesn't have the tiller handle do you happen to know we're I might be able to get one I purchased it from marketplace I haven't had time to start it yet
Ya it could be the same motor. The guy I sold it I noticed reposted it with my photos trying to get more money.. I’ve seen some tiller handles on eBay. There’s a few linkage pieces I think go with it. Other hp models I think should fit but I’d double check
@@sacratboatingandfishing at first I seen it was for sale and then it sold and then it was for sale again the motor I currently have is a Evinrude motor electric start but it also needed work and when id seen how this motor starts with the key and the thodle lever I thought it would be nice to have I could probably rig something up for a steering tiller
@@kevincampbell5357 I think the throttle box can be wired up to fit other brands of outboards. If you have any other outboard questions or want any repairs done shoot me an email sacratbf@gmail.com and I can send you my number

Did you learn so much about these engines by doing online research and through some trial-and-error handywork on your own? Pretty sick pal. And is that your motorcycle parked out front? Another great video.
Impressive!!

Have you tried cleaning the carb?
Yes, I think I have the same fuel pump issue . Where did you get your replacement?
@@SebastianSculpts It was eBay or Aliexpress aftermarket fuel pump

Lotta trial and error, UA-cam University and an unhealthy addiction to buying stuff of FB marketplace. That’s the neighbors bike. Thanks bro!
Have the same motor but can't seem to figure out my issues. 😢

I need that air box for mine
