Honorary anythings, Daytime Emmys, executive producers, and any audiobook (doling the Lord's work many times over) shouldn't count for EGOTs. But if that's the only way for someone of Viola Davis's stature to have the honor, then so be it, I guess. And nobody comes for Rita Moreno, Louis! Cancel him now.
if i recall correctly Audrey Hepburn is the only person so far to complete the EGOT after passing away, since the Emmy and the Grammy were given posthumously
Hold up on Rita! She also won an Emmy for Lead Actress for a Single Appearance via "The Rockford Files"- she's too legit to quit her EGOT status! And Audrey Hepburn just staring blankly into the camera with no hydrangeas in sight is also worth an Emmy, IMO. Side note: Saw James Earl Jones in "Driving Miss Daisy" on Broadway, and that voice was as legendary as expected, making me wish they did "Darth Vader is Driving Miss Daisy."
Interestingly, Helen Hayes' Grammy win for "Great American Documents" is also the exact same Grammy that James Earl Jones won! If you take away her Grammy, you have to drop his too!
Cynthia Erick and Ben Platt are almost Egot. They both won that stupid live performance Emmy, which means that they were able to obtain their Grammy, Tony and Emmy from the same project (TCP revival and DEH)
7:16 Hate to be a b*tch, but Julie Andrews played the role of Millie Dillmount in Thoroughly Modern Millie (1867). Mary Tyler Moore played the role of Miss Dorothy Brown. This movie along with The Fuller Brush Girl (1950) are amongst my most favourite movies ever.
RE Elton John's kind words for Trump, did you guys forget Elton John performed at one of Rush Limbaugh's weddings? He was paid one million $. Seriously. Look it up.
Thank you. 1. Your reasoning might be why the Emmies, Tonies, and Oscars don't award Best Ensemble like the SAGs. a. It would dimish the importance of the individual acting awards. b. Who should be included? c. The SAGs are just for acting. Some feel Best Ensemble is equivalent to Best Film. d. It would affect other awards. Both Shakespeare in Love and Crash won the SAG for Best Ensemble. If Oscars had Best Ensemble, voters would have felt freer to vote for the two for Ensemble. And voted for Saving Private Ryan and Brokeback Mountain for Best Film. 2. Jane Alexander won the Tony for Supporting Actress for the same role she was nominated for Best Actress at the Oscars for the Great White Hope. a. Her second Best Actress nomination was in Testament, originally for TV to be aired on PBS. b. Two Oscar supporting actress nominations for All the President's Men and Kramer V K, two iconic films. 3. How about Helen Hayes robbing Maureen Stapleton for Oscar Best Supporting Actress, both for Airport. Helen's character's pocketbook showed more range.
Audrey Hepburn, Whoopi Goldberg, and Elton John? Talk about GOATs in different lanes 🐐! Can't believe this deep dive didn't mention more about Whoopi's iconic Sister Act moments though 😩
Whaaaaaaaat! We're getting SO much KEEP IT love! Enjoying it so much, gents!
Maggie Smith needs to read the side of an Amazon box to win a Grammy.
I'D LISTEN TO IT!!

Rita Moreno is a cultural icon and has multiple Emmy’s, so take your pick.

I love Audrey Hepburn...but hearing "absolutely not bitch" had me CACKLING 😂

Sadly you lost me at “fake EGOTs”
Viola Davis? Deserved!
We do not stand for Audrey Hepburn slander
This is so messy in the best way!!!
A talk about fake EGOTs that had nothing to do with a talk abut fake EGOTs ... you talked abut anything else but .... waist of time
"waste"
Yes jus bc you throw $ producing a Broadway show & get a TONY shouldn't allow you to be an EGOT
Mariah Carey doesn’t have enough Grammys but this was a cute discussion. 🫶🏽
