When Sir Ian asks his question, she looks like a teenager! Giggling and trying to stay serious 🤣 only a true friend can do that to you ♥️
This was my thought. She lights up so bright, and he continues his line of questioning like he knows exactly how she'll respond to the previous.
Also he is not putting on a sexy persona like so many of the young who are more interested in themselves posing;he's a bit rumpled and real but there is still a frisson as Dame Judy pulls her jacket closer as if to cover her less than 20 year old body's actual shape. It just underlines the truth of so many of her other answers. So very glad I am to see Cleopatra her favourite part in real life. What a marvellous woman she is.
I was thinking about what a beautiful friendship they must have, That was beautiful to watch.. I'm almost 40 and when I talk to my childhood friends I act like a teenager just laughing and giggling like that..
Did you see "Be Cool" when John Travolta says to Uma Thurman, "you'll always be a girl?" Your comment reminds me of this. I had a maternal g-mom who also could do this at the drop of a hat, and it was so charming and lovely when she did!
He was calling her old in disguise. She knew were he was going with the question. Thats why she said "no, do you?" like replying to him "you are old too". I guess is something they joke a lot considering how friends they are. Like Ian with Patrick and their bromance. They are aware of it, and make fun of it.
Judi know Ian so well that she can predict the answers or even follow his thought. Its so beautiful to see this type of friendship. Speciall in actors world, that we do not see so often

@@neerod87 The cat's name is Solomon. Daniel has had him for a few years (as far as I know). The last time I saw a photo of the cat, he had both of his eyes. I guess something happened and they had to remove an eye =(

They are good friends and rather naughty.
Yeah they are very close. Basically their circle consists of as you'd expect theatre folk like Maggie Smith, Patrick Stewart, Derek Jacobi, Michael Gambon etc. I mean to be in a room with all of them just chatting about life and the theatre would be unreal. I met Ian last year on the final stretch of his tour he's very funny and so much energy. He was running all over the place not bad for an 80 year old.

I really love how despite all the success she's had with film, she's talking about theatre for a lot of this video. It really shows that theatre can truly capture your heart and never let go.

LOVED Judi's answer of Johnny Depp x 3! I've seen Ms Dench in many films but my favorite role of hers was Jean Hardcastle on As Time Goes By. I loved the chemistry of all the actors on that Britcom, but especially between Jean and Lionel when they had little squabbles, because you knew their love would see them through.

There is something magical in her personality that is lacking in her contemporaries. The way she smiles, takes pauses, giggles, and gets serious at an instance is just inexplicable. Good Luck to her. I remember her saying, in one of her interviews taken during the promotion of a film, if you have anything else to do than acting, go for it. Today I know why she said that. She wanted to be a designer. This is how life surprises us and pushes us to the realms unknown.

The killer for me, though, is the dinner party guest question. Also, when Sam Smith asks her which role she'd like to play, well Tracey Ullman has created that part, Dame Judi herself, dumping dog poo bags, shoplifting etc...well worth a watch in Tracey's show. I'd imagine Dame Judi loves watching that!

I couldn't really begin to say why, but watching that has actually brought me to tears. Although, if I had to try and guess, I'd say it has something to do with the simple beauty of seeing so much kindness, curiosity, respect, and talent come together for a few glorious minutes. It certainly makes for a welcome change from a lot of the 'other' stuff popping up on our computers and TV's today, so many thanks to British Vogue, and of course, to the legendary and very cheeky Queen Dench.
