I think we can all agree that the one big problem with the US, above all others, is that you regularly use jelly instead of jam. Jelly itself is fine as a desert but if it’s going to pad out bread with some sweetness then it had best be jam.
The point is that a jam donut is a Berliner and is the original donut and I’m not gonna say it slaps but it’s a solid choice. It’s the Coca Cola of donuts, it’s nobody’s first choice but nobody’s getting fired for ordering jam donuts

I miss Eddie Brandt's in North Hollywood, I used to rent there twice a week when I first moved to LA in 2009. I saw so much stuff from that place and even bumped into a couple random celebrities there and got so excited.
I had no idea Laraine Newman was Hannah Einbinder's mom until Sunday night. But I loved that. Baby Reindeer had more laughs than The Bear.

Jean Smart is an incredible actress and she deserves the Emmys she has won. However... Something needs to be done about shows entering into categories they don't belong like The Bear in comedy. Eugene Levy had the best joke of the night when he shaded The Bear.
Interesting how last week you talked about how the VMAs aren’t the same anymore because of how music is curated to listeners via algorithm, and then this week you mention something similar with the evergrowing landscape of TV and everyone being in their bubbles. Algorithms ruined fun!

After the Oscars pulled off a sweep of sorts at the Creative Arts Emmys with 4 wins (including Variety Special [Live], which it had never won before), writing should have been fair game, especially against 4 comedy specials that ideally would have split their respective votes. Alex Edelman was just too strong competition, I guess. He's a former Keep It guest and fav, so I'm guessing no hard feelings there. Look at me, advocating for hacky Louis Virtel's Emmy win lmao. Wonders never cease.
Drag Race is so scripted, predicable and tired now, it should just be put out of its misery.

Baby Reindeer shouldn't have won best anthology / limited series. I agree with the acting awards and maybe even writing award, but it's not a great series. It goes on too long and it was said to be a comedy drama . . .it's just a drama. There's no comedy. I wanted it to end halfway through and was checked out.
Especially with Fargo, True Detective: Night Country, and even Ripley (although, who doesn't ask for a photo of a missing person?). were all amazing. I'm surprised Baby Reindeer won. I enjoyed the other 3 so much more. Fargo was amazing and I think should have won . . .and I couldn't keep my eyes off of Night Country. Surprised Andrew Scott wasn't nominated for Ripley.

Why is all the Backlash focused on The Bear specifically? This is not the first time category fraud has happened and it wont be the last. Also, where has Jeremy Allen White for example won “a lot”? Julia Louis Dreyfus won like 10 times for Veep and no one complained and Julia Garner won 3 for Ozark and not one word was said! The Bear is a Fantastic show and the public or some corners of the public seem to be having a problem with its success
Not first category fraud but first time the category fraud show swept this much. Kinda feels like the time Disney+'s Hamilton won Best Variety Special and everyone went "But that's not a variety show. Why are people who already won bunch of Tonys stealing from actual variety shows?"
i mean the bear literally broke the record for most nominations in one year for a "comedy" series with 23 which was previously held by 30 rock so i think it's fair for more attention/criticism to be given to it
it's because the studios' greed and desire to win awards in the easy way has become so shameless, if The Bear was placed where it really belongs (Drama) it would win like, 2 Emmys. Also it's a disrespect to actual comedies that struggle to get the recognition that would give them much needed visibility

I watched the entire Bear. I don’t get the popularity tbh. I could never sympathize or understand carmy. He was really just an a-hole with zero growth or interesting story. It was just a bunch of hurt feelings and yelling with no resolution or plot line. JLC was incredible in it, the only really good part that deserved the hype...
