      Look up carpet protection at your hardware store. It's plastic material with adhesive that carpenters use to put on the carpet.

    At 10:06 you are supposed to screw the black plug out, not to remove its base

      Yes, you can screw it out, but I could not screw it out for my car specifically. It could be because the screw itself is warped into the threads since it's 16 years old. In addition, the plastic slot was breaking away, so the next best thing is to just remove the base to get the job done.
