👁 About this video : In todays video it's time to install a new active exhaust system for my Audi R8!! I decided to go with the Fi Exhaust system and also got custom powder coated tips which I am super excited about! This system has the valves to go from quiet to loud with the push of a button! The install isn't too hard, but it did take a full day to do and went pretty smoothly! It's a lot of work, but well worth it because as you heard with the short stock clip, the V8 just doesn't have an exhaust note! The Stasis system I took off sounds really good if you aren't wanting that crazy loud note like I do so that is much better than stock! After the install we had some fun of course to show off what it sounds like between the different modes and after driving around for a little, I love it! It's a great note with the best of both worlds between being stealth or making some noise! I hope you guys enjoyed todays install and now the Audi R8 is sounding proper!!

Oh yeah! This went much smoother then the first time we installed an exhaust on the old R8 😅
Nice! Love that sound. Leave the heat sheil off though lol. So people being you can see the look! 🤙🏽
The only problem with that is the bumper blocks the heat shield, so with it off, you still wouldn't see it! It definitely helps in doing it's job though and you can see it through the sides!

Haha thanks! And I love it! It has so much more of a night and day difference between the modes! It's been great on the highway and awesome in the city! It's not as high pitched, so it sounds great for the V8!
That is a lot of work for an exhaust install! The car with the exhaust sounds angry and beastly, it will be turning even more heads now in traffic!
It was definitely a lot of work, but well worth it!! And yeah I'll be making some noise in traffic for sure!!

Who remembers the Armytrix on the first R8
That was a lot more high pitched than this system! This one has more of a night and day difference with the valves than that system did, and has a deeper more crisp sound

I can only imagine how much it would cost for a shop to put that on! Great work Mike! ( and Brian) When she's finished getting modded eventually it will rival the GTR! She sounds sick!! Does it increase hp a bit?
I'm sure it would cost a lot with the labor involved! It was a fun project to work on though! And probably won't rival the GTR anytime soon lol, I'd have to spend a lot more than I want to lol! If anything it may have added a slight amount, but it's hard to notice!
It reduces and restricts hp actually, most valve systems restrict exhaust flow. And FI has terrible customer service I don’t really recommend it unless u only care about sound. My nismo z sounds amazing it just sucks you spend 5k and lose power .
@@bladenuclear I don’t think it would loose HP, most aftermarket systems have much better flow compared to the stock system and also all add a mild amount, but nothing crazy. I haven’t had any issues with their customer service, sorry you had a bad experience. Most valves systems are also in that price range. You can still get a loud exhaust for cheap just won’t have that function.
@@BrosFOURRSpeed valid . I don’t believe I lost power but it definitely restricted me from gaining more ( and they advertise like a 70 crank hp gain) I will admit it’s the best sounding exhaust available for a 370z, with the higher end cars like a R8 they prob put a lot more work into it as well. And I’m not even mad I’m going to turbo next year and will have plenty of power, I’m just looking out for people who are expecting a crazy hp gain.
Yeah some people think that can happen. But any catback is just about sounds and looks. Taking cats out can free up maybe 20 hp. But a tune will be what is needed to really make a gain. Especially on a turbo car. You'll love a turbo Z! We recently filmed one! ua-cam.com/video/wUn66DcOtUc/v-deo.html

Why is that lame!? I've been in the V10's and honestly they aren't much quicker than my car and twice the price! People think you have to have the V10 to "be cool" and have that badge on the side...it's great if you want to spend that money, but I love my V8 and that's what I choose to spend my money on! Have you ever driven an R8 to see the difference between the V8 and V10!? Plus if I supercharge my car someday, it will be faster than a v10 and still cost under $100K.
