I've just realised why I love these videos so much. It's just process. There is no annoying American guy explaining what a dining table is for 5 minutes at the start. Beautifully filmed, minimal, meditative. I love it. Thanks for sharing
I love the way you use machines when they get a good result quickly but traditional hand tools when those give the best result. This is a balanced approach, not rejecting what machines have to offer but not letting them determine the quality of your work.
A special shout out to Chie. She makes awesome work and it seems to me that many overlook that. All three of you do wonderful work! Thanks for sharing like this.
Details. like the dent removing with he iron and damp cloth, the visualisation of the best arrangement of the table top, the compound angle wedges for the tenon, the little heated cabinet for the glue.... The chamfered protruding tenons edges!! Well done as usual!!
Natsuki, Chie, and Shiro......I look forward to watching your videos as do many other accomplished Western woodworkers......I belong to various woodworking groups that have some very well known woodworkers as members......you are discussed and admired.....the three of you have fans around the globe.
Thank you for sharing. It is a beautiful table. I often find myself wanting more detail shots of the finished pieces. At the end of each video show some of the finished details so we can better appreciate the finished piece.
I thoroughly enjoy your channel. A very skilled craftsman, interesting objects, wonderful tools. Your videographer and editor are creative and very talented. A joy to watch.
Great vid! My cherry dining table is one of my favorite pieces. It is all opinion but doubling up biscuits are not worth the pain of dealing with during glue up. A few biscuits to keep things aligned and trimming the biscuits to float with lots of play is preferred imo. If you want to wreck your day - use to many biscuits in your glue up. They do not always seat in and yaddah. Bleh - never again for me. Two flat cherry surfaces glue very well without to many biscuits to get in the way. As for the other joinery in this video - godlike!
Mr. Ishitani, watching your work is a wonderful experience as always. Whenever I watch one of your videos, it inspires me to go work on a project in my workshop. That said, I want to thank Chie for producing such awesome video. She is a master as well! Thank you both and keep the videos coming!
absolutely stunning work. Both the craft and the video quality. Your videos always remind me to slow down and try to do things the right way, with care and attention. thank you.
Thank you for sharing your work - I am humbled and inspired by your craftsmanship. Thank you Chie for the great editing and beautiful shots. Your videos are a piece of art. All the best from Germany.
Nice observation. I feel like I'm fighting with the materials when I make larger pieces like tables and chests, etc. Watching him work has inspired me to slow down, become more precise, and to appreciate the journey more than the destination, if that makes sense.

Watching a master is free therapy
I love watching real furniture makers at work. Definitely better than something from ikea.
