It is interesting to me that there are almost no negative comments on your videos. Such a thing is very rare on UA-cam. Everyone seems to truly and honestly come simply to watch a beautiful piece of wood be turned into a beautiful piece of furniture (or art, if you believe as I do) by a gifted artist and craftsman. The comments alone are one of the reasons this (along with Paul Sellers' channel) is one of my favorite places on the internet. Please continue to inspire us with your wonderful videos of your magnificent projects.
A day when Ishitani Furniture does an upload is a great day indeed!
Another great video in the life of Ishitani Furniture world
Who would have thought what an absolute pleasure it would be to watch somebody make a couple of shelves?
Enjoy the peacefulness of these videos...Thank you for sharing
Good to see a new video. No just for the craftsmanship, but also for the inherent poetry of each video! Thanks for sharing
Austere, elegant, and simple. Precise hand-cut joinery with minimal fasteners. No power sanders, a jack-plane and elbow grease instead. No background distractions, just focus. No pretense, no cutting corners. This man is a true craftsman and embodies the spirit of Japanese woodworking. Subbed.
It amazes me to see how consistent your designs are. Every piece seems to be in perfect harmony with the rest of the furniture you have been featuring in your videos.
The 193 people who disliked this do their woodworking with 2x4s from the hardware store. Incredible craftsmanship. Much love from Canada. :)
Doesn't matter if the project is easier or complex, you're the best!!!!
Incredible craftsmanship. It’s fantastic to see a shelf of such elegance and beauty.
I love your videos! Thank you so much for that! With best regards from Germany.
The attention to the fine details make your art treasures. The calm and love you give you work and your beautiful pet makes watching, time well spent and therapeutic to the soul. Think you have found your key to happiness and health.
Stay healthy and thank you for sharing your pet.
Great use of router and guide for making the stopped sliding dovetails. And all the green in those woods you're walking is wonderful. Thanks for sharing
I love that he always finishes the inside routed corners by hand. If I would win a lottery I'd be in Japan begging Ishitani to make me a piece of furniture.
great work beautiful little shelf Master Ishitani....domo arigato
I just watched your Oak Wall Shelves video. As always, your work is very refine and pleasing to the eye. I learn a lot from watching your videos. Some techniques are small and simple. Others are very intricate. But today, I realize that perhaps the greatest lesson for me, from all your videos is: relax, take a break, and enjoy nature. It makes going back to my woodworking projects more enjoyable and it erases some frustration from my lack of skill. Thanks for showing me how to enjoy woodworking from a technical and emotional perspective.
Ishitani! my morning woodworking video!
I really love the "Watch and be mindful" way these videos are done. No words...just the wood and the work. I only wish you had time to make more videos.
Your slow and methodical pace is what keeps you on my subscribe list. I am inspired.
The care and love you put into everything you make, even something as mundane as a simple shelf never ceases to amaze me.
You make me strive to be a better wood worker. Thank You.
I really appreciate the interludes showing the seasons in rural Japan.
So much better than watching tv. Relaxing, inspiring. Nice work
Your woodworking skills are awesome!, My daughter has atopic dermatitis too. At first, her skin got very bad., then, We started using "Eucerin pH5", and her skin is 95% healthy. Recommended. Hugs.
I always love when I see a new video put out. I'm so happy this channel is staying pure and not putting out content just to put out content talking about sponsors more than the project. This is why I will always keep coming back.
You make the most elegant pieces and the most pleasant videos. Thanks.
It's like a wonderful mashup of woodworking with meditation, beautiful work.
You have a great eye for design and your construction is top notch.
Fantastic Mr. Ishitani!
love waking up to a new ishitani. beautiful shelves.
Really really beautiful! In my opinion you are among the best!
These shelfs are definitely earth-quake safe! Wonderful work again (polishing even the back sides...). Thanks for posting!
Making shelves-great.
Walking dog-priceless!
I love the clean understated design. Your final pieces would work in any home, and it is a perfect combination of form and function. Keep up the great work!
Que gusto ver un vídeo de usted, nuevamente. Su trabajo es un deleite. No nos deje abandonados tanto tiempo, por favor 😁 Saludos desde México
Such craftsmanship in such a simple thing.
Lovely work - attention to detail, consummate skill and cracking video - fantastic!
the way you make joints is so beautiful. after I watched closely how details and percise and most important how you carefully executed. the entire process come together beautifull furniture. Some how it gives me a lesson about how human connect each other. Each side has totally different angles, shapes but we know how to put together like the way you do on your art works. As a result, we have a beautiful relations. Thank you very much for your post.
I have been "binge-watching" Ishitani video's here on UA-cam since I discovered them a week ago. I find myself at a loss trying to think of the right adjectives that do justice to these cinematic art pieces. I love Shiro, and the videography by Chie is superb and reminds me of Kurosawa. But the artistic craftsmanship of Natsuki Ishitani is beyond brilliant. Thank you!
Telling a story without a single word.
Chie, I noticed a big departure from your previous videos - there was a lot more focus on the human form and element. We saw Ishitani’s face and body more with wider angle shots of the workshop. And you showed how he honed the workpiece. He didn’t get things right or perfect the first time and you did a nice job showing his tweaking and being a human with imperfections. I really liked this video. Thanks for testing out a new style.
You can just feel the precision in your work even through your video editing. I love your channel. Great job. Your work is incredible.
Great to have you back! Wonderful craftsmanship! Thank you.
Отличные ненавязчивые,познавательные видео. А все работы- лаконичная японская красота из натурального " живого" дерева. От всей души автору респект, уважение и долгих лет жизни в добром здравии
I'm glad to see a new video posted. They had been missing for a while. Congratulations for the job!
Beautiful work, Oak is a particular favourite of mine. Good to see you again.
Encore une vidéo merveilleuse pleine de simplicité et de sens

With this quality workmanship these shelves should last more than humanity!
Splendid job Natsuki!
Next time I get an order for a floating shelf I’m going to show them this. Amazing
Awesome craftsmanship! and great videography!
Very clean work. And very nice man at work and... his dog :)
It is so nice to sit here and watch a true craftsman at work! I was hoping that you would post another video soon and you did not disappoint.
Welcome again, we were waiting for you ISHITANI. Please share more
How I missed this! Every single video of Ishitani is a cheered moment of contemplation. The rigorous design and meticulous execution shows a respect almost religious with the wood. And I have also a profound admiration for Chie's video making sensibility, with its perfect angles and impeccable lights. And Shiro is the most lovely quality inspector ever. Arigato.
Nicely done!
Something so simple as a shelf, made to look beautiful and full of craftsmanship 😊
Beautiful design
So relaxing and satisfying. Thank you master Ishitani and Chie!
Thoroughly enjoyable video, your little dog must be glad the snow has disappeared...

What a lovely, meticulous take on such a simple thing. Sublime.

Glad to see your back making content, nice work
I like them look very simple but well done
The calm of your pace and space make viewing a meditation! I also really liked how the top of the shelf curves out and away from the wall . . . Beautiful.
Your videos and craftsmanship are really fantastic. You seem to be living dream, and thank you for sharing that with those who are a tiny bit jealous (myself!!)
Keep up the great work.
Assai eleganti, due piccoli capolavori!
Beautiful work.
The only thing bad about all your videos is that they are not long enough! Really enjoyed every video you made! it's so soothing. Relaxes me. Looking forward to your next video.
Liked and sub'd. Very nice work.Your designs are beautiful. Your skill is top notch. Your machinery and shop setup are to be envied. Time to sharpen the chisels and plane irons. Thank you for making these videos. I love the blend of industrial machinery and hand work. Very inspirational and satisfying to watch. Cheers.
Thank you Ishitani!
Каждое новое видео смотрю с удовольствием. Процесс изготовления завораживает, смотрю на одном дыхании. Всё так не навязчиво и понятно. Жду новых работ.
Relaxing videos, amazing skill and lovely designed work...simply one of the greatest woodworker artist! Thank you Master Ishitani from your italian fan!
the sliding dovetails to hold the tops on is brilliant. I'd prefer no metal fasteners, and didn't think of using sliding dovetails for this. Very awesome!
These videos are a thing of beauty. Thanks for making my evening.
absolute art. well done.
UA-cam is filled with people calling themselves woodworkers making all the same, pallet wood, rustic, wood and metal...absolute Pinterest junk. It's so nice to see a see a real woodworker making original and unbelievably beautiful pieces! Please keep it up.
That's a bit harsh, but I agree, the trendy stuff will not hold it's appeal for long, while the work of great furniture makers will last for eternity.
Hi, thanks for sharing, another great project, AA+ , really like the cinematography too!
Super mignonne ces petites étagères 😊
