Oh wow. I'm an 80's kid from the UK, and this takes me back to those days. Modern English are so underrated, despite being popular back in the day. They just don't get enough credit for the influence they had on the 80's punk sound.
What a great song! Early Modern English was such cool music.
Great analysis. I loved seeing them in concert! Such unusual textures in their music. Plus, they don't mind small venues where you can experience the band up close. And I'm bummed that I missed seeing Bauhaus with them but caught them later with the Foo Fighters. Excellent!

Been a while since I heard this song. So good. I am going to have to go back and listen to this album. Excellent interview with these guys. I am always amazed as well at how some music is made. Love listing to these artists talk about how they did things, who they toured with, their influences etc. Nice job!
I predict they will bring "Hands Across the Sea" next.

Concerning the Bauhaus reference at the end... it was only a few weeks ago that you guys reacted to Peter Murphy ("Cuts You Up"). You might remember him for the obvious comparisons to David Bowie. He was the lead singer for Bauhaus before his solo career. They were enormously influential, as the Modern English guys mentioned, and they might be worth a reaction or two: for example, "Bela Lugosi's Lead", or "She's in Parties".
