I found this video to be very niche and extremely useful. Receiving my plow and winch kit this week and look forward to using your videos on the install. Very good work!

Good video, pictures were clear and sound was good. I liked the detail on wiring routing and connections.
Personally, I would have liked a tool list, and possibly a little more detail about the specific nuts/bolts, etc being used as the parts and components were being assembled.
Also, a little more detail about what is in each bag as they are being taken out of the boxes.
And maybe a guide to which components are being installed at what time point in the video.
Still, All in all, a very good and complete video

Nice work, so everything you used was Warn products on winch and winch mount to the plow and plow mounts? Thanks for posting

What brand is that ? So when I do my videos

It appears from your video that the way the winch is mounted - clutch on the right and motor on the left - results in the cable coming over the top of the drum and out the front. And that is exactly what I have after following the Honda instructions.
The Honda instructions also call for and show the motor on the left. But those same instructions, and illustrations on the motor itself, say the cable should come under the bottom of the drum and out the front.
So I am confused. Do winches ever come with the cable wound up the wrong direction? Or am I just missing something?
    TIA
I also mounted my fairlead upside down, so I will be doing some deconstructing anyway, so I would like to have it all correct when I finish.

As long as the winch cable is coming straight off the drum and out the fairlead without crossing over any bars or rubbing it should be fine… if the cable comes off the bottom it would take a harder bend over top of the fairlead which would cause more ware overtime

@@Maxsmotoshop Thank you for the quick reply. That is comforting, as it was perplexing, given the mixed signals in the literature provided by Honda.
Plus I was not looking forward to deconstruction and reconstruction.
One last question if - what is your take on the orientation of the fairlead, given it has a large and a small roller? With the cable coming off the top, it now seems that having the larger roller on top would be appropriate, as it will be contacting that roller most often it seems.
Thanks in advance. And thanks again for a great video that has been quite useful.

Why did you hook into the fan power wire?

    • @Maxsmotoshop
      @Maxsmotoshop  3 роки тому

The fan wire is continuous keyed power And the sub harness in the kit that I was using was made to fit into the fan switch connector

Couple questions, does the relay only trigger the power when the key is turned on? And if so, could you run a fuse block to the relay to power other accessories so they could only be turned on when the key is on? Also, is there a fuse in-line between the battery and the relay? Thanks.

Where did you get instructions? All I got was a paper with the honda accessories website on it. No instructions anywhere on the internet (and that's a large place to not have something).

Try the website on the piece of paper

You have the only video that has the proper brackets, but you DON'T show what bolts go where. I've messed up most of my hardware assuming I did what you were doing
