    I'm very glad the the Satisfactory devs speak so honestly about the practical aspects of game design and fixing games, so many gamers just assume that fixing bugs and making games is just so easy, when it's really not.

    I for one am excited to throw away my whole factory. The best times I had on this game were running through the tiers for the first time and I was a little disappointed that I couldn't use the mercer spheres and summerset loop, or the S.A.M. ore. I am looking forward to a square one replay with all of the glory the devs intended.

    I've played this production game, a long time ago and when we did testing, if someone found an error, that was like fix error and test the entire thing again. Bit Stressful and you hate it when someone finds an error, but it's inevitable.

    As long as the creatures aren't resurrected for the fourth time in 1.0 I'll be happy, if sales are excellent I envision the introduction of tiers 9 and 10.

    What amazes me most is ppl doesnt realise that theres a difference between finding bugs "in house", and finding bugs on a global field.
    Some things just wont bug out until the game goes live, because not 2 players computers are the same.

    I'm happy to hear that they like Factorio developers are thinking about making a space dlc. I mean lets be real here. We all want Satisfactory SPACE dlc, we want to follow space elevator into orbit and we want to go to other planets!. This will be the gold state of the game. But until then. Factorio

    Day 1 patches got bad rep for bad actors who put additional stuff like Kernel anti-piracy software or additional in-game purchase systems a day after the game came out.

    You can resolve the "z-layer" flickering already. Where 2 pieces of architecture are the same height and they constantly flicker. All you have to do is make the heights different by 1 integer. Prioritize a piece to appear over another. This can't be difficult. I want to do a lot of things with beams and concrete together. This stupid flickering ruins it

      Which direction do you offset it? Always up? To the side? What about objects that can be at any angle, how do you determine the offset then? What if it's two of the same asset? How do you determine which asset you intended to see and which one you intended to hide?
      There are a few tricks already to slightly offset objects from each other. Have a look around.

      This is way harder than you might imagine, you say offset it, but to do that the engine needs to identify where this flickering actually happens and the only sure way to do that would be to keep the last few frames around and compare them for areas that switch back and forth.
      That will eat up memory and processing and since it might not show up in all angles it would have to do this constantly.
      The other alternative would be to calculate any intersecting planes where patterns are different.
      If you offset pieces that have the same homogeneous pattern you would create lines that did not exist and people would complain about that so you only would want this there you know it will be a problem, and that is a hard thing to identify.
      If not I am very sure the engine would already have this built in.

    NOTHING, absolutely NOTHING is perfect upon release. Especially computer code!!
    I would expect a day 1 patch because of all the systems that the game will have to run on and all the various things us players will do to the game that Snutt and the team just couldn't possibly think of testing first or even think "yeah, that was gonna break on release." They can only look in so many areas and test so many things meanwhile us players will get in depth on every biome, every nook and cranny, almost attempting to find a bug to get the game to break that we'll find what they just couldnt.
    So yeah, I expect a day 1 patch for 1.0. It's the most logical thing to happen on 1.0 release. Murphy will show himself and he will break something. It will happen and it will be at the most inopportune time. 😁

    Id way rather have bug fixing like 70-80% of the game features arent working properly and so many new people dont even realise it😅
