Lights are such a beautiful pain in the ass. They look so damn good and make a factory really stand out. But I placed like 5 wall mounted flood lights and lost like 10-15 fps. Only 5! I want so badly to be able to use them, but the fps cost is way too high
Inb4 a rework to make pipes essentially just conveyors, with no stimulation at all
I’d really love to be able to purchase the boombox cassettes as additions to the soundtrack as well (and/or stream them). Classsic LeMichael and Goat music are my jams on repeat. I know I can rip both from UA-cam but I like to reward hard work. If you release it, I will buy it.

i just wish there was a "smart splitter" for fluids or overflow valve, a pipe junction with an inbuilt valve if you want, that only allow flow in one direction if the other directions are saturated i bring in left over heavy oil residue to my power plant via train, but i have problems balancing it out since it either is too much and then the residue blocks up the station on the producing end, or it is too little and my refineries start running dry, currently i have to smart switch a residue bottling cluster every so often to balance it out. if i could just hang that on a valve that only takes overflow i could just leave that running and all the extra residue will get barreled and doesn't block up my station anmymore.
one could take the convoluted option of packing it immediately so you can use a smart splitter, then unpacking where needed.

I don't have problems with fluids, but that's still only after seeking outside help. What about short, optional in-game tutorial videos, accessible from the journal thing, and ADA can make a big fuss about it when fluids are unlocked. This seems like the easiest solution. The system is fine (aside from the head lift indicator). It's a knowledge problem.
Three years later and the bug still exists. In fact it was posted in their official QA site 5 years ago, along with the steps to reproduce. (Note: The bug occurs if you sort your inventory while there is something radioactive in there. You can prevent the bug by dropping or storing any radioactive items out of your inventory before you sort it)

Factorio 2.0 has come out, and with it a huge change to their fluid dynamics. Their reasoning, more or less, was "having realistic fluids was cool because it mimicked real life, but it wasn't very fun." The new system is simpler, but is still workable. I really hope satisfactory takes a hint from that.

I don't have an issue setting up pipes, it's the weird behavior that seemingly comes out of nowhere. I will have several machines running at 100% for several in game days and suddenly one of them stops working. All I do to fix it is delete the pipe attached to the machine and reconnect it and bam, it's working again. It feels like a bug but maybe it's intended?
fluids, like create a pipe that forkes into 3 pipes, the 2 outer pipes gets 95% the fluid and the center one gets 5%, how does that even make sense.

The one simplest way I've never had any issues with fluids is to pump them higher than the machines that are using them, feed machines from above, not from below.
Uff, what a roast. Unlike Factorio, for example, Satisfactorio offers many different ways of building stuff. It would be interesting to see how Mikael decides to scale things. If Snutt or Chat tells him, most could predict the resulting factory. Figuring stuff out on your own gives you a much deeper understanding of the game's mechanics, and will probably help managing and leading the direction of the game.

I'm pretty sure "post it on the QA site" is a joke at this point. I'm fully expecting someone to ask "how are you today Snutt" and get "post it on the QA site" in response.
The thing that drives me up the wall regarding fluids is that there is no way to figure out if/when something has been disconnected. That Refinery or Water extractor might sit there and look like it's working, but the junction I thought it was attached to isn't actually connected. This has happened multiple times, and while the existing mechanic works okay-ish, it feels like the game treats the pipes exactly the same as the belts + head loss, and as a consequence has the same problems as the belts: - when it has to pass through a floor/wall hole ?!?! what is going on. Both pipes and Belts seem to treat holes as "container" and as a such bottleneck. - belts can go uphill. Pipes carrying Nitogen can go up hill without head loss, but liquids it's impossible to determine the head loss if you have to go over like a 1 meter hump somewhere and then back down and then back up 5 meters later. As an example of this, is one of the bauxite areas where the closest water extraction point is like exactly 10m. - it feels like the way belts work is BELT X is really a container going Left-to-Right, and works in a FIFO (First In, First Out.) The way pipes work is that it's a container going Bottom-to-Top and is LIFO (Last In, First Out), and the fill rate determined by head loss. But when the pipe has Nitrogen in it, it works the other way around without the head loss, like a belt. So if you have a bunch of really short pipes (eg from the extractor, or to the machine, not your main bus) you don't know if there is actually liquid in the pipe if the machine is consuming it all. What the game could do to make it easier to understand is when you press E is indicate head lift gain/loss from source. So if you press E, it should say if that segment is above the head lift limit or below it.

A lot of the problems could be resolved by adding Water Hammer Arrestors.
It can be dangerous to fall into the trap that new features are always more important than refining old features.
Those stairs sucked... but they were more compact than the modern catwalk pieces. The minimum footprint for a multi-level stairwell with the old stairs was 1 tile, while the new catwalk pieces require 3/2 of a tile.
so there is 3 issues (2 are related) 1) FPS at 32 will create a weird desync and throughput problem (quite a significant one) 2) alt tabbing or pressing the windows key out of the window will create a stutter effect and desync with minor throughput issues (1 to 2 units per event). 3) auto saving will create a stutter effect (varies on file size and PC performance) (minor throughput of 1 to 2 units per event)
