It’s not an “imitation” or a “knockoff”.
Neither NYXI nor Binbok made this.
It’s a dropshipped product, i.e. same product produced and shipped directly from the same manufacturer, but sold & marketed online by dropshipping “companies” that simply put their brands on it.
I say “companies” but it’s often just one guy’s side-hustle outside his day job. He puts these products for sale on amazon or wix under a brand of his own. All orders get forwarded straight to the factory, which would ship it straight to the customers.
You get the exact same product regardless of which brand you buy it from. One is not a knockoff of the other.

I have a white version of these and they look so good.
Honestly, I was fine with the joycons, I played Breath of the Wild and half of Odyssey with them just fine.
But man, the Binbok/NYXI joycons have spoiled me. Going back to the normal joycons just feel so... cramped now.
Sometimes you don't know what you want until you get em. I appreciate how you can also make these into a pseudo-pro controller.
People should know more about these controllers, so thanks for covering them!

You should look at the Nyxi Hyperion or the Hyperion Pro (difference is the Hall Effect Joystick) which is actually different from the Binbok. The one you reviewed is the Nyxi Athena series I believe. I think both Nyxi and Binbok are both reselling and rebranding the same controller from China. The Hyperion series seem to be new from those mysterious Chinese manufactures.
Love the video, I’m getting my OLED Switch for my birthday so looking for Other options besides 8bitdo since I played with it once on my Aunt’s switch, also nice Tattoo by the way, the Chain, Bioshock reference?

Are these the Nyxi Pro Controllers, as the Hyperion Pro just released a month ago? 🤔
These are so comfortable for 1-2hr play sessions. Mine lasted about 3 months of hard use, the face buttons wouldn't return to neutral position after I pressed it. I had no issue with drift. I'll probably pick up the the newer version of this joycon controller.

Good honest review, question, do the Nyxi or Binbok suffer with drift over time like the official joycon? I currently own the HORI split pad and really wish they had wireless as a feature, just happy in that over a year of owning them they've 0 sign of drift.
I’m not sure as I haven’t used them long term. I imagine it’s better than the official joycon
@@TechSpaceCowboy I switched your account I’ve just started developing drift. I’ve had them for three years and man is it annoying trying to save up maybe for this controller or something because it’s pretty much unplayable with drift

This controller is great if you like playing a lot of different third party games in handheld mode. Nintendo games work great with Joycons, but that doesn't carry over for non Nintendo made games. This controller also makes holding the device a lot easier. It was worth the money to me to play stuff like Bioshock and The Outer Worlds with better aiming. Joycons are terrible for first person shooters. They are also useless in Dead By Daylight with the Qte gen fixes or weapon throwing as the killer.
Is dead by daylight as good as it sounds and looks?

Got mine today and the right joy con went out without any play time. Connected it to the switch to see if it worked and it did so I decided to charge them with the cable that came with it and not the right joycon wont turn on at all -.-

the only thing i dont like about these is that i got them in white and the plastic is very thin so the light shines through and the left stick have a weird click to it and the a button has like some weird 2 step press thing and thankfully they are sending me a replacement but they are not the highest quality and i kinda actually prefer the joycons

Yes,they can be played singled out, attached or paired. The switch is also still sociable with these connected

I was wondering that. Theres another brand with a D to thst i think is the same. This is actually common in tech where products manufacturers by 1 company for multiple other companies.
Bro, the amount of “wiggle” you’re getting from these is SUBSTANTIALLY more wiggle than my joy cons have…not sure what’s going on with your Switch lol. But the larger grip is a must.
I bought a pair of these and they're much more comfortable than my Split Pad Pros. HOWEVER the thumbsticks are much stiffer and have a bigger deadzone, making it a lot harder to do finer movements. Aiming a pokeball throw in Legends Arceus is much MUCH easier with the Hori SPP - such a shame.

I have both the NYXI Pro Controller and the Hori Split Pad Pro. All I can say is that one is better than the other and vice versa depending on the game I am playing (on the perspective of playing in handheld mode)
For 3D games like The Legend of Zelda: BotW, Pokemon Legends: Arceus, and any games that are similar to those, the NYXI ones are functionally better thanks to having gyro/motion controls but I can live with the Split Pad Pro just fine with this. Its just that it will not be as convenient as the NYXI ones.
For 2D Platform games like the entire Megaman Legacy Collection (classic, X, Zero/ZX), and, especially, fighting games, the Hori Split Pad Pro is better for me since its D-pad is miles better than NYXI's imo (except for Smash which I only play in docked, never in handheld mode since I use a GC controller)
For docked, I rarely use the NYXI ones. Most of the time, I use an 8Bitdo dongle then connect my Dualshock 4 controller lol.
Found the Hori SPP at a Walmart on sale for $25. Do you think that’s a good deal?
I have tried a lot of different switch controllers trying to find the best one and my conclusion was that there is no better controller than the original joycons with a proper grip attached to your switch, there is no third party controller that have the same accuracy in the analog joystick input, motion controls and HD rumble…
Binboks have better joysticks imo. My proof for this is that with binboks I’m crushing it in Splatoon.
what are you talking about? The joy cons sticks are anything but 'accurate'. Have you tried controling the recoil of any gun in Apex Legends using those sticks? its horrible. The stick travel is almost non existant.
@@caliptus85 I have tried almost every alternative and yes those sticks have more travel distance but at the same time huge dead zones, it is just my personal experience, I'll say if you want to play those kind of games you are using the wrong console to do it.
i got the NYXI and i did a video on them too, i thought binbok just rebranded as NYXI - do y’all know how to change the RGB color i have no idea how to do it haha

Neither Nyxi nor Binbok made this controller. They only put their brands on a generic product made and shipped by the same manufacturer, sold by various retailers that put their own brands.
But you get the same thing regardless of whichever brand you buy it from.

My original Switch joycons wiggle like a lot, so well, yeah. That's not an issue at all. At least not a third-party caused issue.
Both nyxi and binbok buy them form a 3rd partner chinese wholesaler for aprox 25 quid each…..
I bought the clear nyxi controllers and they work on menu screen but after I start the game the buttons seem not to work., no matter what game, I have the same problem. Anyone had this problem b4?

Binbok(whatever) is the best accessory for the Switch. Hori Split Pad Pro is fugly. I've had mine for about a year and no complaints, except the grips can slide off, if you're not paying attention. The latche releases need to be more secure.
The Binbok is the one that should be licensed for Nintendo. Hands down, a 100% better value than any other controller out there.
How's the Dpad on these? I know on the binbok the Dpad is garbage 🗑

NYXI have taken my money and the tracking says "Returned" after two months, now the company is not responding to my emails or messages on social media. I've started the process of forcing a refund through Paypal and have notified my bank of the fraudulent transaction.

Controller stick posición doesn't matter when the sticks have a huge deadzone.

No gyro? Pretty sure they do. That’s the main reason to get this over HORI.
I’ve ordered one myself but haven’t received it. It says it has gyro, including in various reviews.

Binbok, Nyxi, Doyoko, and so many of these 3rd party controllers seem to get their models from same factory but just slap their own brand on them. Shame creators of hori split pad pro dont take note from these 3rd party controllers, would love just go to a store and buy set of joycons like these instead of just ordering them through amazon or the sites of these 3rd party companies

This video is definitely outdated because these companies e their name but nyxi hasn’t they actually have an update now called the hyperion just got
I got these and hated them... If anything they were too large. A standard joycon sits in the crease of my hand and my fingers sit behind the screen - and whilst that can get uncomfortable, these felt like all the weight of the screen was sitting on the joycon rails. They also added a lot of extra width to the console which made it feel like my hands were way too far apart, and the rumble was really loud and not a patch on the HD rumble of the official joycon or the rumble in the pro controller.
In the end I went back to the official joycon, or played in table top mode with a pro-controller.
Yeah I hate mine too. Flimsy plastic, lightweight controllers which feel like they're gonna break any second. Every button is so loud and the vibration is more loud than vibration-y. Horrible controllers. Wish I'd bought the Hori splitpad
@@jtr159 The rumble was categorically the worst part about them. And the lack of weight to the rumble added to the overly lightweight feel.
@@RG-Zeldaplayer Yeah exactly. I have half a mind to open mine up and fill them with something to see if they feel better after that.
Ha! They do. I opened both up and cut a sock to small pieces, then rolled up those pieces and placed them inside the controller while making sure they don't interfere with any of the tactile switches. Quarter of a sock for each. Put the thing back together and it's from a different planet now! Maybe they've started cutting costs and leaving out some padding from the inside or something. Well, I'm glad mine are fixed now.

I don’t really trust nyxi I’ve gotten there GameCube controllers from them, and they barely last I had it for like two weeks broke immediately it would not work for handheld mode so I sent it back to them. They didn’t even fix it so yeah I’m not the biggest fan of that company they don’t really put quality in their controllers

I followed the link and bought this product. I even paid for extra shipping cost in order to get the product before Christmas. The product was shipped from China which took a week even though I paid for express shipping. It arrived as damaged&empty package. Contacted customer service but but after SEVERAL emails back and forth, only heard contact USPS for refund. Do NOT buy this product. Such Scam.
