- My honest Review of the Hori Nintendo Switch Split Pad Pro. I compare it in this video to the Binbok controller.

Awesome controller. Makes the switch feel better in the hands and so much better control then the og joycons. Love em
I have the Power A Controller for when docked, and the Hori for handheld mode, seems to work for me. Had I know about the Binbok before buying the the Power A when I bought my switch, I would have gone with that. Great video man..👍 funny and informative.
Power A added to the list lol
I love the GameCube style pro controller for the switch lol
@@Itslewcarioik they're actually sickkkk
OMG SAME
Skull & Co crystal gripcase bundle all the way for me, absolutely love it!!
I got the neo
I got both!
I really enjoyed the video ty 😊
I've been using the horis since they released. Use them every day to play smash handheld and other games.
One stick eventually wasn't as responsive after a year but still usable. I somehow managed to crack the thumbstick but I think the switch may have been. Dropped somehow. I'd highly recommend them. Do wish they had gyro and rumble at least. I'll have to try the binboks one day.
Can you put crystal case when the hori is attached to your switch?
Your videos love me and I love your videos
I personally went with the split pad pro. When I dock it's when I'm playing with the kids then we use our 2 pro controllers, then if we need more players we bust out the joy cons. So I would say that if you have a pro controller then the Hori is a solid option as well if you do play docked because neither of these in my opinion can really compare to the pro controller.
neither can compare to the pro controller because they’re better or worse?
@@sethbigboy324 can't use the split pads while docked. They are only for handheld use
For Hori there is an accessory that allows the pieces to work as a one-unit-controller with adapter. Still no batteries inside separate pieces, yep.
Sucks that they only seem to be selling it bundled with the Split Pad Pro.
They need to add gyro and rumble features if they make a future model of these
Can you do a review on accessories for the Nintendo switch lite? My hands are starting to hurt from playing it with no padding and my hands feel cramped
Have you had any issues with your binbok? Because when I look at the reviews some people have the drift issue and one turns off while they use it?
Hmm… this is a tough one for me. I play my switch portably like 90% of the time, when I dock it, I use my pro controller. The fact that the binboks can be used while not attached to the switch means nothing to me. I also don’t care about rumble, so the fact that the hori doesn’t have it isn’t a factor for me either. Gyro, although I very rarely use it (90% of the games I play don’t require it at all) it seems like something hori should’ve included. On top of all of this, I use a Satisfye grip, which is amazing and feels incredible. So I’m not sure if I should even get one of these and make the grip obsolete. I think the one thing nudging me towards the hori joy cons is the better d-pad, cus I love my retro stuff, and the higher quality feeling joysticks and buttons.
Binboks better in everyway except joysticks. Hori has slightly larger and precise ones. Both have a noticeable deadzone. But binbok has grippy texture on thumb stick hori doesn't. If you play a shooter utilizing gyro binbok might be the winner. I even would say I like there d pad.
Awesome controller!!!
Have you a review on the NYXI Hyperion Meteor Light ??
My biggest issue with the HORI one is NO GYRO! I rely on gyro for FPS games. the Binbok's have gyro (and rumble) so Binboks all the way.
Which Binbok do you use for your oled.
I was hoping for a mention of rumble. The note about size was important to me. I think the bigger binbok might be too big for me. I am trying to decide if I can handle the lack of rumble and go with the Hori.
Good point. Rumble didn’t occur to me. I’ll try to note that in future reviews
On the website, it says no “HD Rumble”. Does that mean it has no rumble at all or just that it can’t do the different rumble strengths? I can’t find anything pertaining to this on the internet
@@wizard_3473 it has "normal" rumble, guessing it's just not as good as the HD one on the joycons
@@wizard_3473ik its 9 months later but HD Rumble is patented by Nintendo so no other controllers can have it. So, any other 3rd party controller has awful rumble where it just constantly shakes full rumble during anything. Not worth it if rumble is a dealbreaker
@@ekene4886those it have gyro?
Does anyone know if there is a switch drop case that will fit with the split pros installed ? I see plenty that fit with stock joy cons .
Nope, there isn't any.
im looking to buy a split pad that can also work as a controller for dock mode (cuz surprise, my pro controller drifted and my right joycon's shoulder button is working seldomly) and so far, the hori attachment set looks promising cuz it have the middle part to connect to the dock. I wanted to look more into binbok but its really hard to get here where i live 😭
And honestly, not having an rgb or able to turn it off is amazing for me. Cuz imo rgb only really looks good on pc setups. Console setups with rgb just feels odd to say the least but i dont hate it whatsoever. Just prefer the ones that doesnt have it
Gonna buy it now now for $20 used
I have the red ones. They are ok but lack the grip in the palm area. I use em for shooting games.... My bin bok ones started to drift on the left one... 🤦🏾♂️
Spectrum?
If I use the Split Pad Pro with an OLED Switch, will the battery still outlast the Lite?
Yes by a lot
I love squishy buttons over loud clicky buttons so my wife can sleep in peace. lol.
Are these squishy on horizon?
Can you use the Hori controller to press A on its own consistently?
Yes
Not having batteries is the reason I went with the Split Pad, my Joycons would continually lose charge every day even with having the Switch completely off. I never dock my Switch anyways too.
honestly i dont ever care how any of it looks, just something that is convenient to use
Hello, does this joystick come with the plastic piece that is used in the play on the TV??
It does not
@@TechSpaceCowboy OK thank you 👍🏼
People totally misunderstand the Hori split pad.
Yes it has no battery but thats good because any joy con that has batteries will literally drain switch battery to keep the joy cons charged. Nobody seems to realize this and i noticed a huge difference in switch battery lasting wayyyyy longer while using the Hori split pad. Also, the joysticks are literally perfect. Sensitive no dead zone and perfect for shooters. So gyro is really not necessary.
These seem like the controller for me because i only play in mobile mode. If im at home im on PC
Hori feel better built, binbok have more features
What’s your favorite games you’re playing right now TSC?
Horizon Forbidden West, Jak 3(for ps2), of course rocket league, halo infinite, cyberpunk again after the update, rocket league sideswipe on mobile, and lately smash on the switch.
I’m avoiding Arceus and Elden Ring for right now cuz I have a backlog of videos I want to make and I don’t want to get sucked into something that’ll take all my time
a huge positive to the HORI Split Pad Pro is... well... it's available xD
I cannot find the binbok or nyxi ANYWHERE
so yeah
HORI it is
What in the world is a bim bop? 👀
Binbok not bim bop 😂
“i wish it was a little thicker…not much you can do about that”… haha
😏
I don’t know how long it is up already (on the Amazon I use) but there’s actually a “middle-part controller part” {sorry, forgot the name and too lazy to check again} for the Hori Pad now, which costs you 70+ Extra to get.
So combine that with the standalone price of the Hori Pad and you have an overall expense of one-third Switch Console to get the full combo. I mean if you have the money and willingness, then yay?
Oh weird. I’m assuming it has batteries then?
No, this adapter has an entrance above to connect it to the console (or maybe other things too) as a now-wired-controller and an entrance below for headphone plug-in. So like a PS4 controller with cable instead of Bluetooth.
I assume that the Hori Pad gets charged while being connected to this adapter part when you play in Docked Mode, just like they are powered up by the Switch in Handheld Mode.
But that seems to be all it does, since all the things that the Hori Pad can’t do on it’s own are still undoable with this adapter part.
So basically, you can use it to play with the Hori Pad on TV (or PC too apparently) and have headphones attached to your controller while doing that.
As I don’t have it myself though and only checked what this adapter can do in a video on UA-cam (after finding it on Amazon), I’m not saying anything definite here.
You should probably watch one of these review videos yourselves because I’m unsure if I explained it sufficiently. None of the “big Nintendo Switch UA-camrs” have made a remark about this Adapter yet, as far as I’m aware.
I loved mine, but sold it for cash lol. I plan to get new ones however
Does it come with games our do I have to buy games myself ?
They are still loose while attached to the body of the switch I prefer the form of the switch lite because it's all one device👍🙌✌️
Handheld only? Maybe... It has way weaker battery though - V2 is 4.5-9 hours, OLED is similar and Lite is only 3-7 Hours. Also Lite is not as much customizable as V2/OLED and you can't play on TV which is a shame since it's the main selling point of Nintendo Switch.
@@zanmato94 you do have a point there bro but I prefer handheld for my switch👍✌️
@@jonathanmanning5358 - I understand but V2/OLED are still better for handheld gaming. It's not an opinion, it's a fact, proven by numbers.
When he said no battery I was out
Is it drift resistant?
Hell no they get horrible drift when I bought them
Not a fan of this review... it was binbok this and binbok that lol... i thought I had accidentally searched for some bullshit binbok product i have never heard of!
Pless play fifa 22
Spoilers for Smash Failiure screen at 0:36
LMAO
NO RUMMPLE AND NOTHING IN THEM
Looks great for my obesity hands will order
We get it you LOVE binbok...this was a very poor review of the product in the description. This wasn't titled as a comparison video🙄
Nah I don’t particularly care for binbok, y’all just over hype the Hori
First
Binbok is better looking and performing. The Hori contoller is just fugly.
Other than your review comparison being almost a year after everyone else's, nice job.
Binbok wins though.
Play fifa 22
Hori is better than binbok cuz binbok have garbage deadzones.
I bought these controllers and they were some of the worst controllers i have ever bought within the first 2 months they got horrible drift and i took care of them and after 6 months they completely broke
