Hi! Great video. Does the Epson Smart software code/categorize multiple receipts in one scan as separate? Specifically, the last thing you did in this video was scan several receipts in one action. I know you can't upload those as one pdf into quickbooks and have those as separate transactions, however does the Epson Smart software recognize them as separate receipts and code them separately so you can import them into quickbooks? Hope that makes sense :)
Hi Hector, As usual great presentation. I went out and got one, it works great.... until, okay I have a question. I notice that I can scan receipts and they go into the QBO without a problem Then the check or debit transaction clears my bank and only the ADD option on review of the bank transaction is available. If I open the to the more detailed review screen (in QB) and choose the FIND MATCH, it doesn't find my scanned receipt/expense. If I accept the the transaction and categorize same as I did when I scanned the receipt (an expense ) I will end up with a duplicate expense for the same item (seems logical since I didn't MATCH it to the previously scanned receipt AND quickbooks didn't find a match for me.) So... I can delete the scanned receipt expense to eliminate the duplicate... but haha what's the point? How can I force / choose a match of the bank transaction review to match up with my RR-600w receipt/expense? I don't see any option except the FIND MATCH radio button, and when it doesn't present the match I want there doesn't seem to be a way to manually search and select the correct match. Thanks Vince

The Epson did just as you stated: Found the vendor, entered the information almost properly - but one thing that it did not do, is "attach" the receipt to the transaction. You referred to "clicking on Image" and I do not have "Image" anywhere, simply "Attach File". I wonder what I am doing wrong?

Does this scanner allow you to create a list for tax purposes, ie: business expense, business postage , 1099 and drag and drop your receipt scans into that file as well as automatically add all of your receipts amounts for the tax man. I have a very outdated NEAT scanner that allows you to create your own files and drag your receipts to what ever category you have made. This type of feature is very convenient but I am unable to find another scanner that does this. BTW, all of my tax info. is only on my computer only.

Hello Hector, I have a brand new in the box Fujitsu SnapScan iX500. Also use QuickBooks online for my business. What would you recommend to use as the best receipt management software that could be used with this unit to get a similar or better results?
I'm having trouble when exporting to quickbooks online and was wondering if you have any ideas? I add the receipt to the manager, review all information and make sure that the total and taxes are entered then export the expense. when it shows up in qbo, everything is right except it shows as "out of scope" for tax code and I have to manually set it for each expense. My defaults are all set to "inclusive of tax" and the local tax amount. HELP! it's such a pain and it would be perfect otherwise

Can you use the scanner without the touchscreen? Like can I perform all the tasks through windows instead of the touchscreen? I’m blind and cannot see the touchscreen. If not, do you know if an alternative not using a touchscreen

Great Video, I have a problem with uploading receipts to Quickbooks online, both Epson and Quickbooks blame the problem on each other. When I export to Quickbooks, I connect as per instruction, the file sends and then tries to import. I get an error code "Invalid data string". I've got all the most recent drivers and downloads. Any help?

If you scan to a cloud destination, does it have to go through software on the computer? I'm looking for something to send to our clients where they can just power it up, connect it to wifi, and start scanning. I don't want them to have to jump through a bunch of hoops. The Raven scanner was ideal for this, but they're going out of business 12/31, and I need an alternative.
You can use a rubber roller rejuvenator on the rollers as well. I spend about 15 minutes applying it once a year and have been able to keep a Fujitsu scanner and entry-level printers going for 7 years with low/no misfeeds. Don't spray it on. Spray into a cup, then apply with a foam swab.
I sent my old (at least 10 years old) Epson scanner for repair. I was told it was unrepairable. The rollers had melted which I already knew. I bought this new model and installed it yesterday. It is so much better than the original. The install process was so fast and easy. Scanning is rapid! A joy to use.
When scanning papers or receipts. Is it best to keep what you want to be together, to scan them together? Then save that group as one. Ie you scanned taxes, those are good to keep together in one document. What I’m wondering is how well does it organize all my papers?

I love your videos bought the Epson scanner as per your demonstration have issue as it scans receipts but very slow to appear on computer Specially if I lid 10 receipts it will never appear on my computer error message pops up the computer is disconnected What is the problem?
If your receipt has line items that belong in different categories (such as one item is office supplies, another line item is lobby decor, another line is costumes etc) will this separate them? Or does the whole receipt have to fit into just one category?
HEY HECTOR, I know you're not IT but I can't get the scanner to work through my wifi. Everything shows my wifi. I get this error: Unable to communicate with the scanner. Make sure that the scanner is connected to the computer and turned on, and no error has occurred on the scanner.

Everything for me seems fine. I can do a test and the receipt shows up. But when I use the Epson ScanSmart it acts fine but the receipts disappear??? Any pointers? This is driving me mad! lol
Stumped the tech for a bit too. Its a software issue he said. The fix is that you have to set the program default to run as administrator. Then it worked like a charm.
Hello Hector, We recently purchased this exact scanner and had an error when exporting to QuickBooks online it pops an error of " Response Status code does not indicate success: 400( Bad Request). Our scanner was working fine previously and now it is not exporting because of this error. Anything you can recommend to help with this error? What we have tried: Restarting Scanner and computer Uninstalling and reinstalling registering our device online on Epson If you could help we would apricate it! Thanks!!

When scanning directly to QBO the scanner (software) does not recognize sub-categories. Ex. Category 5010-cost of sales works great, Sub-category 5010-20 Resi Parts just doesn't work.

@@HectorGarciaCPA Apparently customer support says it can't send to computer without being connected USB, might be software related. Are you able to send scans via network to computer fairly consistently from the scanner with using only the scan button?

Hi Hector, Trying use this with Quicken and have found the following. If anyone knows how to streamline this please advise. 1.) I tried to scan directly into quicken using the "Add from scanner" option. It is quite slow and scans in as a jpg file which is much larger than a PDF. Is there a way to make it scan as PDF? If you are scanning a multi-page document it scans each page as a separate jpg file. Again a multi-page PDF is much smaller. 2.) So I decided the "Add from scanner" option is not going to work, at least for multi-page pdf. I though I would try and scan as searchable PDF directly to a folder on my computer w/o having to interact with the scanner software but have not found a way to do this either. I was hoping to get to paperless but currently it is way too time consuming. Anyone have any luck using this with Quicken?

This scanner requires you to send your scan to other computer program to do all it's advertised features such as editable PDF files and OCR conversions. Do not expect any real EPSON support for this product.

There should be a workflow to match, but you have to start with the scanned image

It wont attach to QB Desktop, only to Online

That is a concept for international versions of QB which I do not use, sorry. I only work with US which does use VAT

Its designed to work for a single QBO file. You would need to change the configuration out on every client change

Other than making sure the WIFI is turned on in the settings of the scanner i think of anything specificly

I usually build my on spreadsheets and would like to know if this could speed up the process of documenting receipts and invoice to a excel spreadsheet if you get a free moment to try it for me. I really appreciate the reviews you have done thus far.

This scanner requires you to send your scan to other computer program to do all it's advertised features such as editable PDF files and OCR conversions. Do not expect any real EPSON support for this product.

Where is the receipts? All scanners can do this. Scan to wherever you tell it.
