VW/Audi 2.0T TSI PCV Valve Replacement

- This video goes through the steps to replace a PCV Valve/Oil Separator on the VW/Audi 2.0T TSI motor found in most of the smaller cars. These valves have been known to fail as early as 60k miles and mine was at 92k and my motor has recently started consuming some oil so I was replacing it as preventative maintenance.
You will need:
New PCV Valve P/N: 06K103495BM (confirm for your vehicle)
New Hose Clamp OEM 1-Time Pinch: N10108301
or Alternative Spring Clamp: N90686701

Very helpful video, I am going to replace my 2019 tiguan allspace VIKA PCV
This is a really high quality video! Great lighting, and really liked all the part number and torque documentation.
Thanks to your guide I also changed PCV in my engine. Guys, buy only original with newest part number. Cheers!
Thank you for the video and all the tips. I have just replaced a PCV valve in my CJXA.
nice video. I could hear all you said and see what I needed to see. Very nice
Thank you so much for the video. Clear and straight forward
Super helpful, about to do my 2016 Passat right now, thanks!!
Thank you sir. Just installed my VW OEM crankcase valve in my 2015 Passat 1.8T
Just finished replacing it, thank you once again!!!
Awesome, glad the video was helpful
Brilliant diy vid, thanks for posting 👍😎
great video. Much appreciated.
Hello! Thanks for the great video!
Is it normal that I have these issues (that you mentioned in this video) after 41,000km?
I have Skoda Octavia 2020
Question about the coil packs: What kind of tools does it take to remove it? I've changed them before and had to break the old ones and blow out the stems with compressed air. I need to do this PCV job as I'm having oil consumption issues. I'd like to to pull out the coils without breaking them and having to buy new ones.
hi, i have a question about the pressure inside the tube of the oil dipstick level. I have a misfires and i have pressure inside the tube of the oil dipstick, but i think i should have vaccumm. Do you know it? Thanks! I think i have a problem with the part number of the new valve.
I saw on another comment that it eventually started consuming more oil again. Are you looking at valve seals now? My 2020 Tiguan is consuming a lot of oil recently and I'm afraid that's what I need to fix.
Thank you for the video. Very helpful!
Can you tell me if you had reduction in oil consumption or did any of your other issues get better?
Unfortunately, I didn't notice a change in my car's oil consumption after changing the PCV (~1qt/3k miles), but it definitely did not get worse.
Hi, did it help with your oil consumption? If so what was the before and after?
Hello! please tell me how much oil the engine consumed before replacing the valve? And after
Is there pcv in 2.0 tdi diesel engine or is it different from petrol engine
My 2020 Jetta GLI with an EA888.3 has the same exact PCV valve system and is starting to show signs of failure at 66k miles. I did follow the steps in the video to remove the factory installed PCV. However, the PCV body atop the valve cover is not coming off of the valve cover despite my best efforts. It is behaving as if it is stuck/vacuum sealed to the valve cover even with all seven T30 bolts loose and all outlet hoses detached.
Has ADVNTURR or anyone else who conducted this repair experienced a PCV that is stuck to the valve cover? If yes, what was your strategy to remove it? I am doing everything in my power to avoid prying on the PCV to avoid damaging the mating valve cover surface and other surrounding parts. Any help is appreciated!
hi its same thing with gti 7 cs?
I can’t get the bolts unscrewed on the cylinder 4 and 3 coil packs! Could someone help me
this can cause consuming oil in big quantities? . I have to add oil every 2 weeks, if not the motor start cranking.. this pcv replacement will help to avoid the oil burning?
The PCV can cause oil consumption. It can also lead to rear main seal leaks because of excessive pressure a failed PCV can cause in the engine. With the amount of consumption you have, I am not sure that the PCV is the cause, but it is a fairly easy part to replace and test. You may also want to look into a compression test or you may want to pull your intercooler pipe to see if you have oil in your intercooler which wouldbe a sign of a turbo seal failing.
Just had this replaced under warranty on my atlas because it was stuck and blew out seals. In the future, how do I know when this needs replaced before problems occur?
Remove the oil cap from the valve cover and it should have a slight vacuum, do this with the engine is warm for best diagnosis, review.
Pull the oil dipstick, the engine should drop rpms and run slightly rough.
I would check at least on every oil change.
It is bad when:
Way too much vacuum
Pressure going out when removing the oil cap and there is no rpm change
Remove oil dipstick and no rpm change
Do you have to replace the whole valve or can I remove just the spring & cover?? Thanks..
To the best of my knowledge, the spring and cover are not serviceable. The entire valve is the service item and is designed to be replaced as one piece.
How'd you get that hose in the left side off?? I'm currently on that already removed coils 3-4 and loosened all the screws on pcv
I'm assuming you're trying to remove the spring clamp side like I did. Once you move the clamp down the hose (move it all the way to the crimped on on the right side of the hose to give you as much room to work as possible), you can use a small flathead screwdriver to start working the hose back off the nipple. You can also try to use a pick, but you have to be really careful not to puncture the hose.
Got it! Just needed to set my purse down! 😂thank you so much almost all set now just putting grounds back
All set she's driving good now thanks again!
нормально объяснил .
Could the white smoke coming from gassing be due to this part?
Some white smoke on initial start could potentially point to the PCV, but if you are running E85 or some other high ethanol content fuel it could also just be due to the higher water content in the fuel working its way into your oil with blow-by. If you have large amounts of white smoke you need to check for coolant in your oil or oil in your coolant because white smoke can often point to a failed head gasket.
my 2014 golf 7 r doesnt have the grounds on the bolts for the coil pack is this normal?
I've seen other cars without external grounds (my 350Z), but I would have assumed all MK7 EA333 motors would be the same unless something was done differently on the very early cars.
Can a faulty pcv cause oil leak beacuse of pressure?
Yes, I have been told that it can cause the main seal on the crank to leak due to the increase in crank case pressure.
Did this help your oil consumption issue?
It seemed to help for a little while, but I think my problem is bigger than a PCV valve because I am back to where I was before the install.
Change PCV valve and also flushed it engine oil
Should this replacement be done every 60k miles to prevent oil leaks?
Yes bro! every 60k
the car had some engine codes?
In my car's case, I did not have any codes. I was simply noticing an increase in oil consumption and the PCV was an easy and cheap part to replace.
@@ADVNTURRand it help the oil consumption?
Can change my valve within 6 minutes
God damn that was tedious to watch
