Third timed session for the Advanced A run group of the fifth round of the OPTT challenge, a Time Trial at Nelson Ledges. I decided to try to run this session without cleaning my MAF and that was a big mistake that likely cost me fist overall for the weekend in M1 due to the car stumbling really bad. Third and final timed session for the Advanced 1 run group for the second round of the OPTT challenge. I set my second sub 1:12 lap at Nelson and then proceeded to mis-shift the transmission coming into Turn 12 causing a spin. Fortunately the car was OK and I was able to go set another fast lap before retiring for the day. Car: 2005 Nissan 350Z, custom TT setup making 420whp at 9psi, full SPL a...

First timed session for the Advanced A run group of the fifth round of the OPTT challenge, a Time Trial at Nelson Ledges. This was my first even on my new Reinharte Racing Suspension R2 coilovers and despite the heat, old tires, and an engine that wasn't at 100% the car felt great and was putting down really good times Car: 2005 Nissan 350Z, custom TT setup making 420whp at 9psi, full SPL arms,...

While trying to give another racer plenty of room I ended up not leaving myself enough and went off the outside of turn 4 at Nelson Ledges. Fortunately it was dry and I was able to keep the car out of the tire barriers and get it back on track without notable damage. My third event of the season (after missing one due to an exhaust leak) with a hot track but overall good conditions. This was my first event on my new Reinharte Racing Suspension R2 coilovers and they did not disappoint; making the car a lot more stable and mostly* keeping the splitter off the ground. Despite some lingering engine mechanical issues, the heat, and old tires, the new suspension ...

Would these fit my golf mk 7 gti 2013
good job keeping it out of the tire barrier!
@@Ragingcroc based on my last trip into the grass in that corner (in the wet) I thought I was going into the tires for sure.
Thank you
Excellent video - thank you for the part numbers and torque specs!
Nice lap Eric and a good "review" for our ChampCar race this weekend - thanks!
Very helpful video, I am going to replace my 2019 tiguan allspace VIKA PCV
2011 Non LED on front bumper WTF? BTW why u install this totally pointless and heavy as FK!
The LED DRLs weren't introduced until the 2012 DBA generation. The hood struts aren't that heavy and they make it so I can leave the hood open at the track and not worry about the wind catching it.
hi its same thing with gti 7 cs?
Thanks bro
I can’t get the bolts unscrewed on the cylinder 4 and 3 coil packs! Could someone help me
Hi, did it help with your oil consumption? If so what was the before and after?
Thank you for the video and all the tips. I have just replaced a PCV valve in my CJXA.
With 96 in-lbs, it seems like I don't need to hold down the rotor with something besides a hand. Which means this could easily be a driveway job, I do have to look into a center punch though
My 2020 Jetta GLI with an EA888.3 has the same exact PCV valve system and is starting to show signs of failure at 66k miles. I did follow the steps in the video to remove the factory installed PCV. However, the PCV body atop the valve cover is not coming off of the valve cover despite my best efforts. It is behaving as if it is stuck/vacuum sealed to the valve cover even with all seven T30 bolts loose and all outlet hoses detached. Has ADVNTURR or anyone else who conducted this repair experienced a PCV that is stuck to the valve cover? If yes, what was your strategy to remove it? I am doing everything in my power to avoid prying on the PCV to avoid damaging the mating valve cover surface and other surrounding parts. Any help is appreciated!
Which size of tug shaft you pick for your front?371614 or 371615 please?
This is the BEST deadset "How To" I have yet to see. Very well done, clear and concise, and Thank you for the detail 👍
👍👍👍 🚘🏎🚘🏆🔰🔰🔰 These are kind of therapeutic to watch. Just the sound of the car, and a smooth lap. It's all just nice.
I don't have anything constructive to add, but I just wanted to add a comment to appease the algorithm and make sure that I keep getting alerts for these videos.
What kind of side fender vents are those, and where can one go about getting some? I ordered the ones from Mercury Z Project but perhaps it was a scam because I never heard back from them, but I like the ones you have on your Z and would like to see if I can get the same for mine. Thanks
Glad you like the vents; they're custom ones I designed and made based on some other existing designs I'd seen. I don't currently have any plans to make more of them because it was a pretty tedious process to mount them...and the Z badge is upsidedown 🙄 You might look at what Race Louvers offers, similar shape and design and proper installation instructions, but without the badges
Brilliant diy vid, thanks for posting 👍😎
That looked like a very smooth lap. 👌
Nice. Beating the 2 minute mark
I saw on another comment that it eventually started consuming more oil again. Are you looking at valve seals now? My 2020 Tiguan is consuming a lot of oil recently and I'm afraid that's what I need to fix.
Is that hook as strong as thy stock one?
I'm not sure what the stock one is rated at. Raceseng rates their hooks/straps at 8000lb straight pull which is a lot more than can be said for cheap ones you can buy everywhere. Where the factory one may be better is if you have to pull at much of an angle since it is 1pc forged and not threaded together, but all of these hooks are really just designed to pull the car up onto a wrecker, not really to yank it sideways out of a ditch.
Just bought apr oem replacements then I see this 😂
Not sure if you mention it, but what are you using on the actual brake line to stop it from leaking while you do this work?
Unfortunately, there are not a lot of good ways to keep the fluid from leaking out. I was doing a fluid flush anyways and had replaced the front calipers so I just let it drip into a container until it stopped.
So smart with the tape lol
Did you need a bearing press like the rear wheel bearings or are the the front just full swap out?
Fronts are really easy, just 4 bolts in/out. No need for a press.
Just installed mine. I got 42psi, when manual states between 53 and 63, which may confirm my suspicion I have a weak fuel pump.
yeah , ABS came back and now stays, getting the abs module, btw, when you purged the system, did you just hook up the bleeder and push the fluid out?
I used a pressure bleeder and I did purge the entire system before I removed my module (helped to reduce the mess of removing all the fittings).
@@ADVNTURR yep so you pushed all oil out with the bleeder ?
How'd you get that hose in the left side off?? I'm currently on that already removed coils 3-4 and loosened all the screws on pcv
I'm assuming you're trying to remove the spring clamp side like I did. Once you move the clamp down the hose (move it all the way to the crimped on on the right side of the hose to give you as much room to work as possible), you can use a small flathead screwdriver to start working the hose back off the nipple. You can also try to use a pick, but you have to be really careful not to puncture the hose.
Got it! Just needed to set my purse down! 😂thank you so much almost all set now just putting grounds back
All set she's driving good now thanks again!
Hey great video! Just curious if this did end up fixing the clunk sound you mentioned. Have a similar sound in my car and I'm gonna try replacing the mounts first as I'm already running vwr shocks. I'm hoping it's not the shocks. Thanks!
The clunk I was experiencing turned out to be a rear sway bar mount bolt (and upper one I didn't initially see). I am ~25k miles into this setup now and I am still really happy with it. There is a little more noise in the cabin, but I only notice it if I don't have the radio on.
Congrats on being one of like 3 total people that was able to get your hands on these lol I have the street rear kit that turns out won’t work for me if you’re interested.
nice video. I could hear all you said and see what I needed to see. Very nice
Great video man! Thanks
I thought B6 had internal bump stops, you know mono tube life, no need for the external. Maybe these DCC units are different than other B6?
The DCC version of the B6 is different and does not have internal bump stops. The directions with the kit specifically say to reuse/replace the OEM bump stops when installing them.
Great video and explaining thanks!
You taking too goddamn long
Thanks for the feedback. I've been working on trying to cut down video length but I still have some work to do (still pretty new to this). It can be hard to gage while filming what the final edited length will be.
Great video looks easier than I expected
Also, thanks for making these tech videos. They are helpful but they also remind me of the car shows I watched as a kid where this kind of tech was actually shown. I'm thinking of the Shade Tree Mechanics show in particular.
That's some pretty high praise. Thanks
Do you know where to get the seals that go between the 2 halves of the Caliper body if it has been fully taken apart?
There are probably other places that sell them, but Z1 Motorsports has them available if you search their site for "350Z / G35 Brembo Brake Caliper O-Ring Seal"
Can you do a video where you show the fastest way to take out catalytic converters with an Hyper Tough 6 amp angle grinder?
Would a Dewalt 7 amp grinder be OK? I don't have a Hyper Tough one available
@ADVNTURR How are the B6's holding up? I'm going to install the exact same parts very soon as the factory Monroe units are falling apart.
I'm 25k miles in on my B6's and so far I'm still really happy with them. I've done a few track days with them and they've suffered through a couple of Ohio winters and they still feel great and the finish is holding up reasonably well.
God damn that was tedious to watch
Did this help your oil consumption issue?
It seemed to help for a little while, but I think my problem is bigger than a PCV valve because I am back to where I was before the install.
@@ADVNTURR Hello, have you found the root cause
probably valve stem seals
nice vid! Are those moog bearings? first time using them?
I ended up not using them because I run ARP studs and the Moogs use a non-standard stud so my studs couldn't be pressed in. If you aren't swapping studs they'd work fine. I ultimately ended up buying some of the NVA ones from my local dealership and used those. We'll see how long they last.
Question about the coil packs: What kind of tools does it take to remove it? I've changed them before and had to break the old ones and blow out the stems with compressed air. I need to do this PCV job as I'm having oil consumption issues. I'd like to to pull out the coils without breaking them and having to buy new ones.
I'm here to watch higher quality videos. You: Explain step by step and deep dive. Me: I did it!
my 2014 golf 7 r doesnt have the grounds on the bolts for the coil pack is this normal?
I've seen other cars without external grounds (my 350Z), but I would have assumed all MK7 EA333 motors would be the same unless something was done differently on the very early cars.
Hello! Thanks for the great video! Is it normal that I have these issues (that you mentioned in this video) after 41,000km? I have Skoda Octavia 2020
Hello! please tell me how much oil the engine consumed before replacing the valve? And after
