For a super-hero movie this is one artistic endeavor, Tim Burton got total freedom from Warner Bros to create a masterpiece, and it aged like a fine wine. Much different than today's hero movies with their abundant use of CGIs and silly jokes, MCU should take some lessons from Batman Returns.
Superhero movies in the past were a passion project. People we’re seeing there favorite comics come to life. The MCU mostly started that way but then turned into a mass produced toy as it went on.
It's crazy how everyone these days wants and complains that they want a darker, grittier Batman.. when they had one all along.. this movie was so ahead of its time... the BEST batman movie ever made! And the batsuit..! 👌 🤌
Tragic irony? OR POETIC JUSTICE!? You tell me! Danny is the greatest Penguin of all time. Batman Returns had the best Batman, Catwoman and Penguin. With a great original villain in Max Schrek.
I loved the first movie, I loved the above second movie, love Keaton, Pfeiffer and DeVito. However, the 3rd villain really rounded out the bad guy team. I'm of course talking about Christopher Walken's "Max Shreck." All of these stars (and Burton and his team), and their various chemistries when they are on film together, elevated the production and the finished film. These apex actors fully embraced their characters and grounded the film, making the world compelling even as it was hyper-stylized and artificial. I just don't think you can talk about this film without including Walken's performance as Max Shreck.
P.s. I would add that when I see these movies where the stars have to wear these costumes, prosthetics, taking hours every day in a make up chair, how uncomfortable it clearly is.....well....the actors certainly earn their money. That they can figure out how to act and move is frankly kind of like watching the Olympics or something: it's truly amazing what they did.
Chemistry may be overrated, but michelle & michael definitely had it in this. I love this more than the first one & i always dreamt of what batman forever would've been like w michael & tim.
After the success of these films, the studio wants them back for the second part. for Superman 2 two directors were called, the new one and Donner. each director did his version, until the studio makes a decision. which version to see and see which is the final version that goes to the big screen. In this case, the studio version was chosen, that is, the new director's version. and Donner's not, but that version was for DVD, BlueRay and digital formats where they put the Alternate Scenes and the Deleted Scenes. It is the version that I liked the most. but with Batman the situation is different. Burton was asked to come back, but he wasn't interested, because he felt the first Batman was enough and he didn't need to come back. but they insisted on him again, but he would agree to return on one condition. to have more freedom of creative artistic direction, and so it was agreed to return. Here we see it in this special. the version of him was canon and there was no need to replace him while filming. the problem of Batman Returns, it was later in its premiere where he had the problem with McDonald's and where there were families who complained about how violent and how dark it was. but the director's cut versions began with Donner and Burton. where other directors years later did the same. like Joel Schumacher, who is about to release his cut version of Batman Forever, which he produced with Tim Burton. Another case is that of Zack Snyder, who had to leave because he had a tragedy with his daughter. And with something like that, no person has their head in any movie at that time, since the movie had to be finished and he couldn't finish it because of his daughter's issue, Josh Whedon was called, who was the studio version, a few years then Snyder finished his version again, which is the one on HBO max and other things. where it lasts 4 hours and one can see it calmer. as in Flash that had a studio version. which would also last 4 hours in the cut version of its director Muschietti. where the Justice League and The Flash are Canon. the definitive version of Zack Snyder and the definitive version of Andy Muschietti. and this film now and not in its time is a cult film, along with the first Batman. And that's what happens with movies between studio and director's cuts. Does the announcer at the beginning know who he is? It's Stan Lee, because in real life he was the best friend of Bob Kane Co-Creator of Batman. What a badly underrated movie, I love it and seeing this special on how Batman Returns was made I like this film even more than ever. 🦇🐈⬛🐧
because of a company selling bread and meat we missed more movies of real director with real actors like these. thinking on zack sniders batmans, george clooney, etc makes me sick. for me, there won't be any other Batman than this one. not even christopher nolan's.
Batman Returns is still my personal favorite movie, and Michelle Pfeiffer IS Catwoman, she was perfect!
Best of all Batman movies
i agree
Agreed to you, Pal! 👍🏻

Os melhores filmes do Batman de todos os tempos são do Tim Burton
Classic behind the scenes special, saw it when it first aired and have watched it on a VHS recording many times since.

So, a Batman Beyond with Michael Keaton as Bruce Wayne will never happen, right? You are losing money, Warner...
According to who loser? Ha? 😂

In batman movies
Michael Keaton

and George Clooney
What a Classic 🤩❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥
Hope Burton & Keaton returns with a vengeance for the The Brave & the Bold 🔥🔥🔥🔥
How and why if it's a complete reboot? Stop relying on the past for nostalgia sake so much and move on, dude.

Great 😊
Can you please upload 4k Blu-ray quality of those deleted scenes from Superman II please? No one has had any luck finding them for quite some time.
Not making a trilogy with burton was a poor choice
Why are we watching the premiere all these years later?
It's re-released on digital...
@@igorschmidlapp6987 oh, thanks. Digital, huh? That should be interesting.
nobody's willing to train Penguins for cinema anymore, scorsese was right
Spencer for Hire.
The drak side of the batman saga
Btw in the Flash Michael Keaton told Barry Allen about this Villain a original ? Talking about the Multiverse

If only Tim Burton could have continued this Franchise. Warner Brothers really missed an incredible opportunity.
Joel Schumacher did Batman 3
Why didn't they add white eye lenses on the cowl?

Present 7 Hours
Stop pandering to Nostalgia, it didn't work out as proven by The Flush
Actually that was the best part
@@anubisandra1377Yep they should have made a Batman beyond with Keaton instead
Batma Returns is still the best Batman movie, and I say this as a huge Snyder fan.
