I really miss molboard plowing. It was my favorite tillage work
I grew up watching it. It was great to watch every farm in town plow. Tillage sure has changed.
Farming has changed a lot from when i was a kid.
As a kid/teenager in the '60s and '70s we moldboard plowed every year to plant corn. Then disc it a time or two dragging a peg tooth harrow behind. The tillage speeds these days are so much faster!
Nothing sexier than a Steiger Tiger pulling a moldboard plow. How I miss the olden days of farming
The Tiger is a cool tractor.
4230 was a sweet looking tractor. Along with the rest .
It is a neat one as an open station and narrow front.
If you filmed that where i live you would have another video of us picking rocks for a week.
Where the 6030 was plowing in New York there are allot of stones. They know rocking picking well. Many of the other plows were in Ohio and Illinois where rocks are not a factor.

Going to be a lot of compaction in those wet spots
It rained three inches the day before. Based on the weed and grass growth in the standing water I would say that part of the field does not produced a crop most years.
I firmly believe that, busy tractor plowing IS REAL THING! ❤❤

The 2-150 was one of the first silver tractors on the market. They are fairly rare to find these days.

Oh wow that’s cool. I have only filmed 8550s disking and that was just two. They were built to plow.

I use the 560 with an IH 4 bottom #60, and an M with a David Bradley 3 bottom.
Very nice plowing team. I don’t see too many David Bradley plows. I have filmed a David Bradley wagon behind a corn picker.
The front right side of the MF 4880 tractor looked to have been fire damaged ? Great video as usual.
Thats probarbly burn from the turbo.
@@framfull I doubt even that would do quite that much damage - gotta be something else. Turbo is in the middle of the 'V' of the block, so can't see how it would that myself.
Well the warm part of the turbo is more over to the right. If you look on line you find some tractors with simular Burns.🤠@@jamesbarbour8400

I found a IH tandem Hitch setup for a 70-700 plow !!! I'm going to setup 2-3-14s 70 Plows at the Le Sueur County Pioneer Power Association !!

My favorite is the international 1566 and 720 plow
It is a great plowing team. The 1566 is a great part of the IH line up from the 70’s.
The 1566 international takes me back being younger and I'll always have a soft spot for it! Great video and really enjoyed it!
The 1566 is a cool long lasting tractor. Hard to believe it’s almost 50.

I always enjoyed turning soil. I still a plow but I don't use it as much as I used to. I still believe in turning soil every few years.
Plowing is an effective tillage method. It takes more time but leaves a seed bed ready to warm up quickly in the spring.
@@bigtractorpower my Dad still believes if you don't have time plow and work it you don't have time to plant it. Yes you are right about the seed bed and the ground warming up sooner.

That is my tractor. I have it painted a bit since that day plowing. It’s a cool tractor. Only 97 Turbo Tiger I tractors were built. This is the 84th one built.

Jason - Jones Harvesting in Pennsylvania has and is using a walkabout mother bin this fall during corn harvest. Their phone number is online. Idk if you call them them if they'll let you video the mother bin in use this fall or not.
We still plow. Two on land 6 bottles and a 10 bottom.

The Tiger is a cool tractor. One of the models that inspired Big Tractor Power to start back in 2001.

Plowing for the farms featured is something they find is helpful in their growing conditions. Plowing is still come one in places that raise parties, canning peas and other crops that require a good clean seed bed.
You never give the number of bottoms and the width of the bottoms.
The model number often indicates the bottom. The IH 800’s are 10 bottoms. The Deere plows in this video are 12 bottoms. The DMI 9021 is 21 bottoms. I thought in 2023 the Depart of Ag was trying to change the philosophy and science of tillage to “No Till” …. Y/N ???
No till is great in many situations. In fact, no, till planting was invented in my here in Kentucky back in 1962.
Plowing, an intelligent general still has its places in many areas because of a colder climate. Tage helps break down the residue left by the corn stocks as well as stopping carry over disease issues from year to year. Vegetable crops like cucumbers, peas, and green beans, require plowing to eliminate any type of disease or form material from ending up in the Crop.
The department of agriculture has many incentive programs for conservation farming, but there are no mandates against tillage.

It had rained the day before and the 8960 in the soil type would be better suited for a 10 bottom. It moves the 12 bottom but is maxed out.
