Man I been sleeping on those chorus models, I use this plugin on every mix and I been in need of a good chorus. This vid was great, that phongraph saturator at the end sounded great too! Cheers my man
This has saved me so much time - if I was going through the modules one at a time myself, I’d still be on the first after half an hour. Interesting point about the combo effects maybe reducing DSP load - certainly a good idea for the back pocket to try when things start maxing out. Great video.
Excellent video dude! I love how you approached this. When I did it, I focussed on the presets. I’m absolutely knocked out with the app. I think it sets a new standard for iOS.
Being that I typically release my videos later than you all, it's always a challenge to find new ground to cover. I agree - there's a ridiculous amount of power in this app!
You're awesome. Thank you so much for taking the time to provide us with this walk through of #MIXBOX. This was one of my first set of purchase when I transition to iOS and honestly, it is CPU hungry especially in my experience of using it with BeatMaker3. I'd say just disable all the plug-ins in your specific channel and once you're ready to mix down or master then enable or I'd have to see how this works in AUM (a new app I'd have to figure out as well).
I agree - it is fairly CPU heavy, so be warned. And yes - AUM is definitely worth the time investment into learning how it works. Welcome to the excellent world of iOS music making!
@@DaveypooMMM Not specifically, no. But it reminds me of my Swiss army knife: so much you can do with a single tool. It's an impressive, well-thought out app.
@@DaveypooMMM only went and bought it. Great piece of kit, could have afforded it but my wife bought me an itunes voucher for my birthday. Hip hip hooray!
@@DaveypooMMM A bit more efficient than the Waves Studio Rack - which uses a ton of CPU processing power. But putting this on EVERY track still gives me grief (maybe I should use so many!)
The MIDI cc parameters are grouped by 'Slot' which refers to each of the 8 effect slots in each instance of MixBox. While I've not set this up myself, I have been able to map the rotator speed to an LFO in apeMatrix, so I'm sure with a bit of niggling with your own HW you can make this happen. I hope that helps!
@@DaveypooMMM Thank you! I had MixBox loaded as an FX for the VB3m Organ in Camelot (and not getting anywhere). This morning, I tried the same thing in AUM and noticed the icon that opened the MIDI Controls for the slots. It looks kinda like "hit or miss" with the parameters, but I see that they've added a MID"Learn". That should help a little. I appreciate your response and your videos!
Thanks for this! I have IK's TRacks package and thought this would be too much exactly like that, but I can see that there is are a lot of other effects here that would make it worth picking up, plus a simpler interface. :)
It's definitely worth it. I'm not a fan of the individual effects but used together they can be extremely powerful. I find myself using MixBox more and more as time goes on. Thanks for watching!
I wouldn't be surprised if it gets added down the road - they just updated the app and added a new module, so we may be seeing more of that moving forward.
The IK Multimedia Product Manager is an absolute nightmare when it comes to a download and instillation program. It's the pitts and their customer support is terrible! You wait days for a response which is usually a system generated response and they couldn't organise flies around crap when sorting out my many issues when I upgraded to Total Studio Max 4. The program settings is supposed to allow you to set a file download path to an external library but it still downloaded those huge files onto my system drive, causing it to quickly fill up! The sounds might be good but everything else about IK Multimedia gives me a very severe case of anxiety and anger! The 180 day download period after which you have to pay to download files of products that YOU'VE ALREADY PAID FOR is truly despicable and I'll never purchase anything from IK again despite having been a loyal user of their products since 2004! Even a rep from IK Multimedias Australian distributor who was absolutely fantastic with his assistance mentioned that dealing with the company is less than pleasant and that they have a very sanctimonious approach to communication and customer service. The arrogance of IK Multimedia when I've dealt with them has been truly breath taking and I don't remember them behaving this way when I dealt with them back in the early 2000s. I managed to get the many sound library files and file paths downloaded and working but it took me many days with a lot of trial and error, gnashing of teeth and much swearing! I decided to reinstall the IK Product Manager because I was having so many issues with JavaScript errors and the like and then the sounds page said that none of my files were downloaded and installed! As a matter of fact, their reprehensible 'customer service' gave me no correct answers and suitable solutions and their IK Multimedia Product Manager makes it feel like that we're back in 2003! They've certainly lost me. It's such a great shame really as their products are actually fabulous once their set up correctly. I'll stick with Native Instruments, Arturia, Fxpansion and Izotope, all of whom have product installers that do all the hard work of downloading, installing and authorising their products for you with the minimum of fuss! BYE BYE IK MULTIMEDIA!!!! 🤬🤬
I'm glad I read this. I came to the same conclusion. They do irresponsible things to your system when you download things from them. They fill up your drive with many GBs when you only download one thing for free. They have a wrong 'clever' philosophy, forcing their ecosystem into your computer without you knowing so.
I'm not knocked out by any of the amps in here on their own, but there's enough flexibility that I'm sure there are lots of great guitar tones in here.
This is the great demo of every single thing inside MixBox
Thanks!
I love the condensed version of all the famous hardware. Thanks for connecting the dots and saving us the research 💯

Its very nice visually!
I agree - it's very pretty!
Thank you very much for showing all the stuff in details!!!!

Thanks - it's a very quick overview but it gives you a taste of what's included. This app has so many uses - I forget what's in there too!

Oh - I'm so glad! I often worry that these longer videos are TOO long and just end up being me yapping. Appreciate the feedback!
@Ricky Anthony very few. I was referring to Dave’s video saving me time, not the app.
Very impressive. The app and the run through!

The best video about mixbox in all UA-cam, tanks... Mi gift: subscribed

I just purchased MixBox (mainly to get the Modulation/Rotary unit). Can the SLOW/BRAKE/FAST switch be operated with an external device or automated?

They do, but you need tracks 5 max edition to work with your mixbox
